Nato is in Afghanistan for the long haul Agree with Obama not Republican's! If they only knew what that meant!

NATO Leader Agrees With Obama's Afghan Approach

Nato is in Afghanistan for the long haul, says Anders Fogh Rasmussen

NATO leader agrees war strategy should be reviewed

Obama in New Round of Meetings on Afghanistan

Obama is having more meetings and is leaning towards adding more men. Enough meetings already! I agree with Biden! I thought we weren't in the business of Nation building? Afghanistan does not want a centralized Government they as you know are tribal and do not want one. Funny but Pakistan is largely tribal but they want a central Government and freedom from the Taliban to continue to have their tribal customs and freedoms and are fighting for it!

NATO go home! Scale back! Get out! We keep hearing how tough Afghani's are. Prove it! We keep hearing how we must get to Taliban moderates and Afghan moderates well get with it do it now and let them fight for their country. Moderate tribesmen in parts of militant-ravaged north-west Pakistan are challenging Taliban extremists threatening to overrun their area, in what will develop into a mass resistance movement. That is what Afghanistan must do! America and NATO must get out!

We have been there over 8 years, twice as long as WW2! If Afghanistan wanted freedom from the Taliban they would already be trained and fighting for it instead of just letting themselves be killed as pawns. Get rid of corrupt Karzai! Why are the Afghan's not forming Lashkar's and killing the Taliban if they want their freedom from them?

* Have a fair election, get rid of Karzai,Feed and supply Afghan's to fight if they want their freedom as Pakistan is and get out! That is the only answer not less or more troops. Our soldiers did their job leave now with heads held high not our tails between our legs like in Saigon!

Give food and supplies to the Afghans and if they want their freedom they will fight for it like the Pakistani tribes are. We should be helping Pakistan who has proved they want their freedom from Taliban and Sharia law. Don't add more troops this is Afghanistan graveyard of Nations. Cheat history get out now!

You realize this is a no win situation. It's not just the corrupt Karzai but corrupt tribal leaders. And much like the drunk that refuses to sober up and turn his life around the nation just won't do the right thing. And with no natural resources there's no nation to build or rebuild. I think there was a time where we could have enlisted the help of other Arab nations but Bush blew the political capital after 911. So now it is up to us to try and reach an agreement with Pakistan to try and end this thing. That's my two cents anyway.

Maybe we should shift our focus from Afghanistan to Pakistan and let them show them how its done. I'm just not sure we CAN fix Afghanistan, though I do think somehow we HAVE to. But let's do it right.
Remove Karzai.
Tell the tribal leaders either straighten up or be considered Taliban.
Kick out all the corrupt contractors killing or injuring our soldiers and press charges at home for endangering them.
Set up true elections with help from the international community and show them what it means to be honest.
I think we can do it, but does the rest of the country have the backbone for the surge that will be needed to do it? I'm not so sure.

I know Demeur! You know damn well Obama will send more troops and we should get the hell out give them supplies and let them fight for their country if they want it.

Hey Sharon how the heck are you? Did you see Tom is back? Anyway you have the right answers. Help Pakistan they want their freedom. Afghanistan is totally corrupt and willing to sit back and let us do everything. Screw em!

The tribal leaders are playing us like a penny whistle, and the tune they are playing is the same one they have played for centuries.

I agree Holte time to make them put up or we get out!

Feed and supply Afghan's to fight if they want their freedom as Pakistan is and get out!

I think that's a good idea! Instead of investing in military operations, we send them food, clothing, TV, coke, etc., etc., bribe them. Honest!

Gen Templar did it in Malaya (well, not the TV nor the coke) but essentially, he offered the Communist insurgents, rebels, terrorists food, a roof over his head, work or a small capital to start business, etc., if they would surrender and those who didn't want to surrender were hunted down, a few were hanged to show British Army meant business.

Anyway, message was coursed through the wives (the men were doing guerilla warfare leaving wives and children behind). And guess what, the women themselves went out of their way to chastise their husbands, nagged them to stop fighting and accept the offer. In the end, like in Northern Ireland, the Malayan women played a big role in stopping the bloody "war."

That was how we basically won the war agains the communists in Malaya.

ooops, In the end, like in Northern Ireland, the women played a big role in stopping the bloody "war."

PS: Problem is we don't know if Afghan women are bold enough to do the same thing.

Hi Anna! Afghan women are3 too cow2wed to help and we do have to get out and feed and supply Afghans only if they want to fight but I do not believe they do!
