Yesterdays stock market crash, the horrible portent of the future not yet mentioned!

Of course here too I have an opinion about the stock market crash that occured yesterday and as usual it is never voiced and I will guaraness you it is "dead" true! I mentioned it to a freind yesterday as we watched the market go crazy and it brought chills of recognition to her in light of what I write about.
First I have to think there might be something to what I was told about about the Chinese stock market and that this was done as a warning. Beyond knowing that this crash did start in China for whatever reason and knowing we will again never know the truth by design, and that every market in the world was effected or so we are told.
Anyway, You may remember I did a post about a week ago about something else we discussed and that was the 2nd Greatest Stock Market Crash was right around the Corner. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/2/22/15309/4858 also numerous stories I have written in the past that this upcoming war will be the worst man and the planet have ever seen. Wars do not get easier or better with time they get worse and more destructive.
Regardless of what side you are on someone has to be able to survive this impending confligration and have a planet that can sustain "I hope" life as we know it. Not on the level we know it but with the environment we need for someone to survive into the future.
I think when all is said and done what my freind said may be right. The Chinese do know enough to hit us where it hurts, our wallets.\
The crash that started in China could have been done on purpose and been a warning to America that if you attack our interests in Iran and we will bring down your economy. With that said remember the "great" crash of 1929 and chillingly remember what ultimately helped us recover from it. WW2 as you know.
Now remember where the world is headed and that wars do not get better and that this mess will soon get a lot worse along with the economy and the world better be scared, very sared. These rumors of WW3 are not just idle rumors to be dismissed.

Email from Al Gore.com: Please 10 more messages to Congress about Global Warming!

I received this Email from Al Gore.com this morning asking if I could pass it on to 10 more people to send messages to Congress. The only way for me to do that is right here on kos. I hope this helps!

Dear james,
When the producers of An Inconvenient Truth first approached me with the concept for the film, I was skeptical. Could we really take a slideshow about the climate crisis and turn it into a compelling movie? Davis Guggenheim’s Oscar win for best documentary and a second one for Melissa Etheridge’s beautiful song "I Need to Wake Up" was a testament to their ability, but it was also a testament to you.
It was you who packed the theaters and got your friends to go see this film, greatly increasing the audience. And then this past December, it was you who connected through MoveOn.org and AlGore.com to attend An Inconvenient Truth viewing parties.
At those parties and in the weeks that followed, nearly 200,000 of you wrote to Congress, demanding that they address the climate crisis like the planetary emergency that it is.
Even though I have been a life-long movie fan, I didn’t really understand how big of an audience a movie could reach. And of course I never would have imagined in a million years that a movie that I was a part of would receive two Academy Awards—or one—or would have ever been made in the first place! As humbling as this moment is, An Inconvenient Truth will only succeed if it drives all of us to take action. That’s why I’m asking you to join me in the next stage of our fight. On March 21st, I'm going to hand-deliver the messages you signed when I testify at Congressional hearings on the climate crisis.
This is an incredible opportunity to demonstrate to Congress that we demand immediate action. And I need your help to really make this moment count. Can you commit to getting 10 friends to send their message to Congress through AlGore.com before March 21st? The more voices I can bring to Washington, the more powerful our message will be.
To get your friends involved, just forward them this note or direct them to:
http://algore.com/cards.html
There is no longer a debate about the fact that global warming is real. We're causing it. The consequences are serious, and could be headed towards catastrophe if we don’t fix it. And it's not too late. I don't want to imagine a future in which our children say, "What were our parents thinking?" "Why didn't they wake up when they had a chance?" And I know you don’t either.
The hundreds of thousands of you who signed messages to Congress showed me what's possible. Working together we can unite millions of people and build support for real action on a scale that has never been seen before.
Help me take the first step and fill up that hearing room with your signatures. That picture alone will send a powerful message.
Can you commit to getting ten more people to send messages to Congress demanding action to stop global warming?
http://algore.com/cards.html
I’m looking forward to working with you on this monumental task.
Thank you,

U.S. Generals to quit if Bush attacks Iran and the Military attempted to Arrest Cheney, WOW!

I must admit, I had these stories waiting for me when I turned on my computer this morning but was so flabbergasted I didn't know what to think or do about them. Remembering what we have been hearing from the Generals and what little we heard about Cheney's "eventful" rerurn from Australia. After much thought I felt I should submit this for your thoughts.
SOME of America’s most senior military commanders are prepared to resign if the White House orders a military strike against Iran, according to highly placed defence and intelligence sources.
Tension in the Gulf region has raised fears that an attack on Iran is becoming increasingly likely before President George Bush leaves office. The Sunday Times has learnt that up to five generals and admirals are willing to resign rather than approve what they consider would be a reckless attack.

"There are four or five generals and admirals we know of who would resign if Bush ordered an attack on Iran," a source with close ties to British intelligence said. "There is simply no stomach for it in the Pentagon, and a lot of people question whether such an attack would be effective or even possible."
A British defence source confirmed that there were deep misgivings inside the Pentagon about a military strike. "All the generals are perfectly clear that they don’t have the military capacity to take Iran on in any meaningful fashion. Nobody wants to do it and it would be a matter of conscience for them. This would be unprecedented as you know but we have never been led by a warmongering iot Decider. Many army chiefs fear an attack on Iran would backfire on American troops in Iraq and lead to more terrorist attacks, a rise in oil prices and the threat of a regional war and you can bank on that I am afraid.
Also Britain is concerned that its own troops in Iraq might be drawn into any American conflict with Iran, regardless of whether the government takes part in the attack. maybe that is why they are withdrawing their troops huh? http://www.commondreams.org/headlines07/0225-01.htm
I thought that was surprising until I read this email. U.S. military tattempts arrest of Cheney, 3 reported dead. Remember when he was departing Australia and there was a problem reported on the tarmac and it was reported they lost power and had to eat cold sandwiches and they were diverted. Well now knowing the previous story think about what is being reported as the truth by other soursces.
Russian FSB sources are reporting today that an attempt by Special Forces Troops of the United States Military to arrest the American Vice President Cheney shortly after boarding his official plane in Australia has resulted in at least 3 dead and an unknown number of wounded.
These reports state that the United States Air Force, which is in control of the American Vice Presidents plane, sent an ‘urgent’ flash message shortly after takeoff from Sydney, Australia alerting their US Pacific Command Forces through the United States Worldwide Military Command and Control System (WWMCCS) network, and which is monitored by Russian Military Forces, of the deaths aboard the plane and requesting ‘orders’.
At the sealed off Sydney airport where the attempt by US Military Forces to arrest the American Vice President occurred the Australian media is reportingthat Cheney's plane was delayed at Sydney Airport for undisclosed reasons. It revved its engines and then powered down. The door opened and was then waved off and went down the runway. Whay have we not heard this if this is true? Are we being misconseived again? http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index986.htm
There is so much more information in the story that we do not hear. I recommend you read it and decide for yourself. Please let me know what you yhink!

Faulty Intel., Increasing Cheney threats, Iran taunts, as Israel seeks Iraq fly over!

While Bush is openly saying he wants better intelligence http://voanews.com/english/2007-02-20-voa66.cfm
He continues to ignore it and create his own reality so he can procecute his planned now order. Most US intelligence on Iran shared with the International Atomic Energy Agency has proved to be inaccurate and failed to lead to discoveries of a smoking gun inside the Islamic Republic, The Los Angeles Times reported on its website on Saturday.
Citing unnamed diplomats working in Vienna, the newspaper said the CIA and other Western intelligence services have been providing sensitive information to the IAEA since 2002.
But none of the tips about Iran's suspected secret weapons sites provided clear evidence that the
Islamic Republic is developing a nuclear arms arsenal, the report said. http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,,2-10-1462_2074633,00.html
As Bushco is knowingly and openly using faulty Intelligence to justify future military action against Iran. Dick Cheney renewed Washington's warning to Iran earlier Saturday that "all options" were on the table if Tehran continues to defy U.N. demands to halt uranium enrichment.
Meanwhile Iran acurrately said they do not see America in a position to impose another crisis on its tax payers inside America by starting another war in the region," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told reporters Saturday. Sadly we know Bush will as soon as he can find an excuse to attack.
As I have been asserting all along that Israel will give Bush that excuse we now hear this. 02/24/07 "The Telegraph" -- -- Israel is negotiating with the United States for permission to fly over Iraq as part of a plan to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, The Daily Telegraph reveals that this is to conduct surgical air strikes against Iran's nuclear program Israeli war planes would need to fly across Iraq. But to do so the Israeli military authorities in Tel Aviv need permission from the Pentagon.
A senior Israeli defence official said negotiations were now underway between the two countries for the US-led coalition in Iraq to provide an "air corridor" in the event of the Israeli government deciding on unilateral military action to prevent Teheran developing nuclear weapons. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/02/24/wiran124.xml
It is looking increasingly like regardless of the facts, the truth, Reality, anything, Bush is going to attack Iran against all good sense in order to prosecute his new middle east and world order, world be damned!

Britain Deflates Russia's threat to attack U.S. MDS in Poland and Czechoslovakia! What's next?

In light of the fact that I have been posting regularly on the threats by Russia to the U.S., Czechoslovakia, and Poland over the missile defense systems that were set to be installed there I originally thought these threats by Russia to attack the host countries was not to counter what they perceived as a threat to them but as an excuse to come to Iran's aid not that they need any more mind you. However now I don't know! http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/2/21/10018/0362
Any way I am very pleased to see this threat at least diffused I hope but what is next? Recently we have learned that Britain is preparing to decrease its troops in Iraq and yesterday I for one was pleased to hear that Britain was increasing its troops in Afghanistan. finding this out last night took some more additional weight off my mind anyway.
Britain and the United States said yesterday that they were discussing the stationing of the American anti-ballistic-missile defense system on British soil.
Knowing these discussions were under years makes me think there is some validity behind Russia's concerns. Why hasn't this been mentioned before?
As we discussed The United States had previously offered to locate the missile system in the Czechoslovakia and Poland provoking strong objection from Russia, though Washington argues that the system is not built to defend against Russia but against Iran, principally, and other potential threats. As I said, now that I am finding out that talks between Britain and the United States have in going on for quite a while I am no longer sure of Bush's intentions what about you?
According to Blair's spokeswoman, Britain has been secretly lobbying for inclusion in the system for some time. Again I have to ask why has this not been mentioned to Russia? Is there any benefit to having the systems in Czechoslovakia and Poland unless threatening Russia was the ulterior motive?
Britain seems to genuinely want to be chosen to house the systems. I say be careful what you ask for you may get it. It seems to me like this will only bring major trouble for whoever bases these systems. What do you think? "The prime minister thinks it is a good idea that they are part of the consideration by the United States.
Blair believe it is an important step towards providing missile defense coverage for Europe, of which they are part." but myself I don't know. Now I hear that the radar systems were already in final testing in Britain. What gives? http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/02/23/news/shield.php
Just reading the above story on The recent discussions over the missile defense systems, Britain's troop deployments in Iraq, the Balkans, Northern Ireland, and the announcement to add more troops in Afghanistan I am finding Bush has torn apart and stressed out Britain and its military and people as much as he has ours and the rest of the world it seems. What will be the end results of this idiots messes around the world?

Is David Icke Right? As Russia and Iran prepare to take on Bush and his new world order?

Is David Icke Right? as Russia and Iran preparing to take on Bush and his new world order, then there is China! I watched David Icke last night on http://www.history.com/
I am certainly no Conspiracy theorist but I do as many of you know, believe that 9/11 was allowed to happen in order to further the plan for new middle east and world order by whoever are the real powers behind the scenes.
The program on Secret Societies like skull and bones, the Bilderbergs, the Trilateral Commission, who control what America does regardless of who is President made absolute sense to me but for the life of me I could not find a link to the story.
They had it nailed except they are way off as to how things will look in 5 years if this happens. Because Skull and Bones which Bush is an active member of has its roots in Germany and one of the groups behind what Bush is doing, David Icke believes in 5 years we will all be living under a Nazi style rule. No way! they only have 1/3 of the equation. You have to be able to look at the big picture. Not just what you believe or what you think.
The secret Organizations behind the real power are today just 1/3 of the equation. There are too many other variables that whoever these behind the scenes powers be are not taking into account. Our society is heading the way of the Roman Empire which is the normal life cycle of every society. Bush has merely sped that up.
The second equal and maybe more powerful third is China, Russia, and the reinforced Triumvirate that will take Bush on.
The final and most powerful vital element all parties will disregard to all of our demise is the world, the planet, the environment, that is already in a state of gross decline and dysfunction as to there ability to fill mans needs for survival as we require. No one today seems to realize that regardless of who wins someone will have to have a habitable planet to survive on.
The last couple of days we have discussed Russia's valid concern with Bush's installation of Missile defense systems in their area. Tensions intensified on Wednesday over US plans for missile defense bases in Poland and the Czech Republic, as Washington called on Europe to take a tougher stance towards the Kremlin.
The Bush administration’s two top foreign policy officials lashed out at Moscow’s campaign against the bases, which Washington insists are aimed at possible threats from Iran rather than Russia. I do think they are aimed at Iran but I also believe that Russia will attack them in order to help Iran and thereby furthering this mess.
Then Russia's foreign minister reiterated Wednesday as they again warned the United States not to take military action against Iran. "The Russian foreign minister said Wednesday U.S.-led multinational foreign forces in Iraq must not conduct military operations outside the country, including against Iran," the RIA Novosti news agency reported.
"The multinational force in Iraq should abide strictly by the UN Security Council's mandate, which does not provide for any operations outside the country," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the Lebanese magazine Al-Watan Al-Arabi in an interview.
"The escalation of the conflict and its possible spread beyond the Iraqi borders will inevitably result in catastrophic consequences and not for the Middle East alone," Lavrov said according to the report. "I believe Washington understands this." http://license.icopyright.net/user/viewFreeUse.act?fuid=Mjk3NzE1
I believe they do to but are spoiling for a fight that has been the intention right from the beginning. Bush is looking for a fight so he can further his plan whoever's it is, for new world order.
I just heard on CNN that there are concerns that Iran is preparing to Block the strait of Hormuz which will block all the oil roots and most certainly ratchet this out of control. As of yet I have not found a link but please feel free, if you have it.
Bottom line is all parties involved seem to be willingly pushing towards a world war at a point in time when the Planet can no longer survive the damage to it and no one seems to care. I just do not get it?
I wrote this 4 years ago and I am afraid we are willingly racing towards this end.
Whether you believe in Nostradamus or not, he gave us two scenarios at this juncture in life. We had two roads we could follow into the future. We could take the peaceful road down a successful road into the future or we could take the road into conflict that would lead to destruction of man and the planet as we know them.
Sadly man seems to have chosen the 2nd road and with nuclear conflagration staring us in the face: We seem to be leading the way to our demise! If we are to have a future we must smarten up! The full short story at the link!

The Second and Greatest Depression is right around the Corner. This is sad, stunning, and true!

I got this supposed breaking news and I hate to tell them but they are 4 years too late and America's hell is here! The Coming Economic Hell For American Families It has been here for years!

The Second and Greatest Depression is right around the Corner. This is stunning, I was still trying to Recover hours after first hearing this but became resolved to it 4 years ago!

As we listened to Bush's lies about wanting to fix Health Care I caught on the news that pretty soon health care will consume $1 of every $5 you spend and look where we are today. That is mind boggling in itself. Knowing he did nothing to help the average American or our America is sobering enough. That Idiot constantly lied and covered up all reality!

He bragged every day how great his economy is while we were left dumbfounded. People in staggering numbers are still losing their homes, ending up on the street, going hungry, unable to receive or afford even basic health care, or even satisfy life's basic needs. this is happening in America and I find it overwhelming. Why? In America?

Then four years ago I was sent this staggering information and I was 7 hours later just composing myself to be able to put this together.

The Second Great Depression By Mike Whitney" The US economy is in danger of a recession that will prove unusually long and severe. By any measure it is in far worse shape than in 2001-02 and the unraveling of the housing bubble is clearly at hand. It seems that the continuous buoyancy of the financial markets is again deluding many people about the gravity of the economic situation. 02/21/07 This week’s data on the sagging real estate market leaves no doubt that the housing bubble is quickly crashing to earth and that hard times are on the way.

There’s no doubt now, that Fed chairman Alan Greenspan’s plan to pump zillions of dollars into the system via "low interest rates" has created the biggest monster-bubble of all time and set the stage for a deep economic retrenchment. Greenspan’s inflationary policies were designed to expand the "wealth gap" and create greater economic polarization between the classes.

By the time the housing bubble deflates, millions of working class Americans will be left to pay off loans that are considerably higher than the current value of their home. This will inevitably create deeper societal divisions and, very likely, a permanent underclass of mortgage-slaves. A shrewd economist and student of history like Greenspan knew exactly what the consequences of his low interest rates would be. The trap was set to lure in unsuspecting borrowers.

In real terms, the economy is already in recession. The growth numbers are regularly massaged by the Commerce Department to put a smiley face on an under performing economy. Industrial output continues to flag (In January it was down by another .5%) while millions of good paying factory jobs are being air-mailed to China where labor is a mere fraction of the cost in the USA. Also, automobile inventories are up while factory production is in free fall.

Please read the entire report. It is very sobering and the first honest appraisal I have ever seen as to our dire Bush hidden financial future. In closing Mike say's Greenspan has led us sheep-like to the same precipice as the great depression. The economic dilemma we're facing could have been avoided if the expansion of personal credit had been curtailed by prudent monetary policy at the Federal Reserve and if wealth was more evenly distributed as it was in the ‘60's and ‘70's. But that’s not the case; so we're headed for hard times. Mike Whitney The second Great Depression 2007

* I will bet President Obama gets credit for this Bush created disaster too

"The Second Great Depression" By Mike Whitney

The Second Great Depression By Mike Whitney“ The US economy is in danger of a recession that will prove unusually long and severe.
“The slump in home prices from the end of 2005 to the end of 2006 was the biggest year over year drop since theNational Association of Realtors started keeping track in 1982.” (NewYork Times) The Commerce Dept announced that the construction of new homes fell in January by a whopping 14.3%. Prices fell in half of the nation’s major markets and “existing home sales declined in 40 states”. Arizona, Florida, California, and Virginia have seen precipitous dropsin sales. The Commerce Department also reported that “the number of vacant homes increased by 34% in 2006 to 2.1 million at the end of theyear, nearly double the long-term vacancy rate.”
(Marketwatch) The bottom line is that inventories are up, sales are down, profits are eroding, and the building industry is facing a steady downturn well into the foreseeable future. The ripple effects of the housing crash will be felt throughout theoverall economy; shrinking GDP, slowing consumer spending and putting more workers in the growing unemployment lines.
Congress is now looking into the shabby lending practices that shoehorned millions of people into homes that they clearly cannotafford. But their efforts will have no affect on the loans that are already in place. $1 trillion in ARMs (Adjustable Rate Mortgages) aredue to reset in 2007 which guarantees that millions of over-leveraged homeowners will default on their mortgages putting pressure on the banks and sending the economy into a tailspin.
We are at the beginning of a major shake-up and there’s going to be a lot more blood on the tracks before things settle down. The banks and mortgage lenders are scrambling for creative ways to keep people in their homes but the sub prime market is already teetering and foreclosures are on the rise.
There’s no doubt now, that Fed chairman Alan Greenspan’s plan to pump zillions of dollars into the system via “low interest rates” has created the biggest monster-bubble of all time and set the stage for a deep economic retrenchment. Greenspan’s inflationary policies were designed to expand the “wealth gap” and create greater economic polarization between the classes.
By the time the housing bubble deflates, millions of working class Americans will be left to pay off loans that are considerably higher than the current value of their home. This will inevitably create deeper societal divisions and, very likely, apermanent underclass of mortgage-slaves. A shrewd economist and student of history like Greenspan knew exactly what the consequences of his low interest rates would be.
The trap was set to lure in unsuspecting borrowers who felt they could augment theirstagnant wages by joining the housing gold rush. It was a great way to mask a deteriorating economy by expanding personal debt. The meltdown in housing will soon be felt in the stock market which appears to be lagging the real estate market by about 6 months.
Soon, reality will set in on Wall Street just as it has in the housing sector and the “loose money” that Greenspan generated with his mighty printing press will flee to foreign shores. It looks as though this may already be happening even though the stockmarket is still flying high. On Friday, the government reported that net capital inflows reversed from the requisite $70 billion to AN OUTFLOW OF$11 BILLION!
The current account deficit (which includes the trade deficit) is running at roughly $800 billion per year, which means that the US must attract about $70 billion per month of foreign investment (US Treasuries or securities) to compensate for America’s extravagant spending. When foreign investment falters, as it did in December, it puts downward pressure on the greenback to make up for the imbalance.
Everbank’s ChuckButler put it like this:“Not only did the buying stop by foreigners in December, but the outflows were huge! Domestic investors increased their buying of long-term overseas securities from $37 billion to a record $46 billion. This is a classic illustration of ‘lack of funding’. So, the question I asked the desk was… ‘Why isn’t the euro skyrocketing? ’”Why, indeed?
Why would central banks hold onto their flacid greenbacks when the foundation which keeps it propped up has been removed? The answer is complex but, in essence, the rest of the world has loaned the US a pair of crutches to bolster the wobbly dollar while they prepare for the eventual meltdown. China and Japan are currently hold over $1.7 trillion in US currency and US-based assets and can hardly afford to have the ground cut out from below the dollar.
There are, however, limits to the “generosity of strangers” and foreign banks will undoubtedly be pressed to take more extreme measures as it becomes apparent that Team Bush plans to produce as much red ink as humanly possible. December’s figures indicate that foreign investment is drying up and the world is no longer eager to purchase America’s lavish debt. The only thing the Federal Reserve can do is raise interest rates to attract foreign capital or let the dollar fall in value.
The problem, of course,is that if the Fed raises rates, the real estate market will collapse even faster which will strangle consumer spending and shrivel GDP. In other words, we are at the brink of two separate but related crises; an economic crisis and a currency crisis. That means that the unsuspecting American people are likely to be ground between the two mill-wheels of hyperinflation and shrinking growth.
In real terms, the economy is already in recession. The growth numbers are regularly massaged by the Commerce Department to put a smiley face on an underperforming economy. Industrial output continues to flag (In January it was down by another .5%) while millions of good paying factory jobs are being air-mailed to China where labor is a mere fraction of the cost in the USA. Also, automobile inventories are up while factoryproduction is in freefall.
In addition, new jobless claims soared to 357,000 in the week ending February 10. 44,000 more desperate workers have been given their pink slips so they can join the huddled masses in Bush’s Weimar Dystopia. December’s net capital inflows are a grim snapshot of the looming disaster ahead.
As the housing bubble loses steam, maxxed-out American consumers will face increasing job losses and mounting debt. At the same time, foreign investment will move to more promising markets in Asia and Europe causing a steep rise in interest rates. This is bound to be a stunning blow to the banks which are low on reserves ($44 billion) but have generated $4.5 trillion in shaky mortgage debt in the last 6 years.
It’s all bad news. The global liquidity bubble is limping towards the reef and when it hits it’ll send shock-waves through the global economic system.I s it any wonder why the foreign central banks are so skittish about dumping the dollar? No one really relishes the idea of a quick slide into a global recession followed by years of agonizing recovery.
Maybe that’s why Secretary of Treasury Hank Paulson has reassembled thePlunge Protection Team and installed a hotline to his Chinese counterpart so he can quickly respond to sudden gyrations in the stockmarket or a freefalling greenback; Two of the calamities he could be facing in the very near future.
Greenspan has successfully piloted the nation into virtual insolvency. In fact, the parallels between our present situation and the period preceding the Great Depression are striking. Just as massive debt was accumulating in the market from the purchase of stocks “on margin”, so too, mortgage debt between 2000 and 2006 soared from $4.8 trillion to$9.5 trillion.
In both cases the “wealth effect” spawned a spending spree which looked like growth but was really the steady, insidious expansion of debt which generated economic activity. In both periods wages were either flat or declining and the gap between rich and working class was growing more extreme by the year.
As Paul Alexander Gusmorino said in his article, “Main Causes of the Great Depression”:" Many factors played a role in bringing about the depression; however, the main cause for the Great Depression was the combination of the greatly unequal distribution of wealth throughout the 1920's, and theextensive stock market speculation that took place during the latterpart that same decade".
The same factors are at work today except that the speculation is in real estate rather than stocks. Just as in the 1920’s the equity bubble was not created by wages keeping pace with productivity (the healthy formula for growth) but by the expansion of personal debt. Also, one could buy stocks without the money to purchase them, just as one can buy a $600,000 or $700,000 house today with zero-down and no monthly payment on the principle for years to come.
The current account deficit ($800billion) could also weigh heavily in any economic shake-up that may be forthcoming. Bob Chapman of The International Forecaster made this shocking calculation about America’s out-of-control trade deficit: "US debt was up 10.1% to $4.085 trillion and accounts for 58.8% of all the credit issued globally last year. That means the US expanded credit at a much faster rate than the economy grew. This was borrowing to maintain a higher standard of living and attempt to pay for it tomorrow."Think about that; the US sucked up nearly 60% of ALL GLOBAL CREDIT in one year alone.
That is truly astonishing. There are many similarities between the pre-Depression era and our own. Paul Alexander Gusmorino says: "The Great Depression was the worst economic slump ever in U.S. history, and one which spread to virtually all of the industrialized world. The depression began in late 1929 and lasted for about a decade. The excessive speculation in the late 1920's kept the stock market artificially high, but eventually lead to large market crashes.
These market crashes, combined with the misdistribution of wealth, caused theAmerican economy to capsize. (The income disparity) between the rich and the middle class grew throughout the 1920's. While the disposable income per capita rose 9%from 1920 to 1929, those with income within the top 1% enjoyed a stupendous 75% increase in per capita disposable income. A major reason for this large and growing gap between the rich and the working-class people was the increased manufacturing output throughout this period. From 1923-1929 the average output per worker increased 32% . During that same period of time average wages for manufacturing jobs increased only 8%
(This ultimately causes a decrease in demand and leads to growth in credit spending) The federal government also contributed to the growing gap between the rich and middle-class. Calvin Coolidge's (pro business) administration passed the Revenue Act of 1926, which reduced federal income and inheritance taxes dramatically. (At the same time) the Supreme Court ruled minimum-wage legislation unconstitutional.
The bottom three quarters of the population had an aggregate income of less than 45% of the combined national income; while the top 25% of the population took in more than 55% of the national income. Between 1925 and 1929 the total credit more than doubled from $1.38 billion to around$3 billion”. (Just like now, the growing wage gap has spawned massive speculative bubbles as well as a steady up-tick in credit spending.
Wage stagnation forces workers to seek other opportunities for getting ahead. When wages fail to keep pace with productivity then demand naturally decreases and business begins to flag. The only way to spur more buying is by easing interest rates or expanding personal credit, and that is when equity bubbles begin to appear. That's what happened to the stockmarket before 1929 as well as to the real estate market in 2007.
The availability of credit has kept the housing market afloat but,ultimately, the result will be the same. On Monday October 21, 1929, the over-valued stock market began its downward plunge. It managed a brief mid-week comeback, but 7 days later on Black Tuesday it plummeted again;
16 million shares were dumped and there were no buyers. The game was over. Confidence evaporated over night. People stopped buying on credit, the bubble-economy collapsed, and the mighty locomotive for growth, theAmerican consumer, hobbled into the Great Depression. Tariffs were thrown up, foreigners stopped buying American goods; banks closed, business went bust, and unemployment skyrocketed. Tens years later the country was still reeling from the implosion
.Now, 77 years later, Greenspan has led us sheep-like to the same precipice. The economic dilemma we’re facing could have been avoided if the expansion of personal credit had been curtailed by prudent monetary policy at the Federal Reserve and if wealth was more evenly distributed as it was in the ‘60s and ‘70s. But that’s not the case; so we’re headed for hard times.

Putin's threats are Warranted, bring a wasted trip to calm Arms so Bush can continue...

Putin's threats are warranted and bring a wasted U.S./ trip to calm arms so Bush can continue with his plan for the middle east and the world! It will not work this time!
First I just want to say that I did a post yesterday titled "Putin orders Iran Interest's protected against any hostile forces to protect against Bush's attack! http://www.dailykos.com/...
Then I caught after the fact , that Putin was accusing the U.S. of a return to the cold war. I would agree but we have never left as Reagan and Bush liked to brag and reality has merely set in. We heard for quite a while now rumors of a missile shield being constructed in central and Eastern Europe.
Poland and Czech Republic are in favor of hosting a proposed U.S. missile defense system, the Czech premier said Monday after meeting with his Polish counterpart.
The United States said last month that it wanted to build a missile defense system in Eastern Europe to guard the eastern United States and Europe from missiles launched from "rogue nations" in the Middle East. It would be the first such site in Europe.
However The U.S. plans have drawn the ire of Russia, which says such a missile defense could disturb the balance of power in the region and fuel a new arms race. That I am afraid is a true statement. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/...
This agreement has of course drawn the ire of Putin who in light of what it views as U.S. aggression has threatened to attack the host countries.
Poland and the Czech Republic risk being targeted by Russian missiles if they agree to host elements of the proposed U.S. missile defense system, a top Russian general warned Monday in the latest in a series of increasingly bellicose statements from Moscow.
President Vladimir Putin has said he does not trust U.S. claims that it wants to deploy missile defense components in Europe to counter threats from Iran, and warned that Russia could take retaliatory action."If the governments of Poland and the Czech Republic take such a step ... the Strategic Missile Forces of Russia will be capable of targeting these facilities if a relevant decision is made," he said.. http://www.foxnews.com/...
Then I heard that today that Bush's national security adviser is embarking on a mission to Moscow and other European capitals a week after the incendiary remarks about Bush and the United States by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Stephen Hadley was leaving Washington on Tuesday for a four-day trip to Brussels, Moscow and Berlin, said Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for Hadley and Bush's National Security Council.
As we said, Putin surprised the White House on Feb. 10 by angrily accusing the United States of inciting other countries to seek nuclear weapons to defend themselves from an "almost uncontained use of military force." At a security conference in Germany, the Russian leader said that "one state, the United States, has overstepped its national borders in every way."
It was Putin's harshest criticism yet of the United States. Bush, at a news conference several days later, said there was a "complicated relationship" between the United States and Russia, but Putin was "the same strong-willed person" he has known since 2001. http://www.usatoday.com/...
I must say that it is obvious that Bush has pushed Putin to the limits but he is too stupid to realize this is going to bite us as he thinks smooth talking sugar coating will block his real intention.
Bush's build up in central and eastern Europe is by my belief a buildup for Bush's attack on Iran and can be construed as self defense by Russia. But more than likely Putin will use this self defense as an excuse to attack those installations thus coming to the force of Iran which is what they want.
I refuse to believe that American Diplomats are really expressing surprise as to Russia's concern. They can't really be that stupid can they? or should I say, do they think the rest of the world is that stupid? Or is it just as I always say and they do not care how stupid and obvious they look and sound as long as they get their way. It will not work this time! Russia and China both will jump at the chance to put Bush in his place once he attacks Iran. man what is next?

Putin orders Iran Interest's protected against any Hostile Forces to Protect against Bush's attack!

This may be a bit lengthy and I can not apologize for it because this is all vital to the terrible story unfolding as we speak! Knowing I did a post a month ago titled Russia and China call for the destruction of the U.S. I went back to get the link but it was disabled.
In searching for it I came across a most disturbing story in light of the fact that also about a month back as you may remember, Bush entered into an agreement with India to share nuclear knowledge thus nuclear cooperation.
The story was from 2004 and about Russia calling for a Moscow-New Delhi-Beijing axis, an alliance of three nuclear-armed countries of some 2.5 billion people that theoretically would be able to balance US power in coming years.
Cooperation among Russia, India and China "would make a great contribution to global security", Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in New Delhi. The Kremlin leader, on a visit to India accused the West of pursuing a dictatorial foreign policy and setting double standards on terrorism.
A unipolar world could entail dangerous trends globally, Putin said, adding that unilateral ism increased risks that weapons of mass destruction might fall into the hands of terrorists. Putin refrained from naming the unilateral power in question, but it is widely assumed he was referring to the United States when he lashed out at "unipolar world" policies. Putin and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh issued a joint call for "multipolar world" and a greater role for the United Nations. The Russian leader also backed India's bid for a permanent United Nations Security Council seat. http://www.atimes.com/...
Knowing this, on top of everything else I have to ask what the hell is Bush doing sharing information with India? In the past I said when all is said and done India will come out against us. What the hell is wrong with Bush? We know that Bush has got fortress Eastern Europe almost set up.
Common Dreams News Center. also announced last month that American forces could be using their two USAF bases in Bulgaria and one at Romania's Black Sea coast to launch an attack on Iran in April," the Bulgarian news agency Novinite said.
The American build-up along the Black Sea, coupled with the recent positioning of two US aircraft carrier battle groups off the Straits of Hormuz, appears to indicate president Bush has run out of patience with Tehran's nuclear misrepresentation and non-compliance with the UN Security Council's resolution. President Ahmeninejad of Iran has further ratcheted up tension in the region by putting on show his newly purchased state of the art Russian TOR-Ml anti-missile defense system.
The beefing up of America's Italian bases and the acquisition of anti-missile defense bases in the Czech Republic and Poland, the Balkan developments seem to indicate a new phase in Bush's global war on terror. To that I just want to add you mean Bush's new world order! News of advanced war preparations along the Black Sea is backed up by some chilling details.
One is the setting up of new refueling places for US Stealth bombers, which would spearhead an attack on Iran. "The USAF's positioning of vital refueling facilities for its B-2 bombers in unusual places, including Bulgaria, falls within the perspective of such an attack. I understand that by the end of March 3000 military personnel are due to arrive at at U.S. base. I was surprised to find out that we even had one there. I didn't know we had a military agreement with Bulgaria that gave us access to two bases and a shooting range.
Romania is being transformed into an American military bastion and It is also vital to the Iran scenario.Last week, the Bucharest daily also revealed the USAF is to site several flights of F-l5, F-l6 and Al0 aircraft at a former Romanian Air Base where Romania's chief of staff, confirmed "up to 2000 American military personnel will be temporarily stationed in Romania". Oh man!
In Central Europe, the Czech Republic and Poland have also found themselves in the Pentagon's strategic focus. Last week the Czech national security council agreed to the siting of a US anti-missile radar defense system at Czech location. Poland has also agreed to having a US anti-missile missile base and interceptor aircraft stationed in the country. This is not good! I just have to ask, at this level of preparedness could this just be a show of force? It is being called a ring of Defense but for what?.
Russia, however, does not see the chain of new US bases on its doorstep as a "defensive ring they see it rightly so as "an open threat to Russia". I would also assume it is. I know myself I have had many tell me to keep an aye out for a strategic relocation of fighters, fueling tankers, anti missile batteries etc as the key to an imminent attack on Iran.
Russia's defense minister, spoke more circumspectly while emphasizing Moscow's concern. He said: "Russia is not worried and I have to say that is pure Bull and we better know what the hell we are about to do and I know the chief idiot does not have a clue or care. Russia on the face says Its strategic nuclear forces can assure its safety in any circumstance. They incorrectly say that Since neither Iran or Korea possess intercontinental missiles capable of threatening the USA, then why this new missile shield that supposedly is to protect the West? http://www.sundayherald.com/... This link to I find has been disabled but here is a recent link to Czechoslovakia and Poland. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/...
knowing Eastern and Central Europe have been fortified as the rest of the world believes in order for Bush to attack Iran and knowing Russian Military Analysts are reporting that President Putin has signed an order for all Russian Naval and Merchant vessels to be out of US port facilities on the Eastern Coast of the United States by March 17th. This order, according to these reports, are in anticipation of a US/Israeli led attack upon Iran expected no later than the end of April.
The dates set by the Western Nations for their attack upon Iran are due to the stepping aside from power of the American War Leaders last Western Ally, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who is due to leave office this spring, and as we can further read as reported by China’s State Media Service Xinhua in their report titled "Kuwait media: U.S. military strike on Iran seen by April", and which says:
"U.S. might launch a military strike on Iran before April 2007, Kuwait-based daily Arab Times released on Sunday said in a report. The report, written by Arab Times' Editor-in-chief Ahmed al-Jarallah citing a reliable source, said that the attack would be launched from the sea, while Patriot missiles would guard all Arab countries in the Gulf.
Recent statements emanating from the United States indicated the Bush administration's new strategy for Iraq doesn't include any proposal to make a compromise or negotiate with Syria or Iran, added the report. The source told al-Jarallah that U.S. President George W. Bush recently had held a meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other assistants in the White House, where they discussed the plan to attack Iran in minute detail. . http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/...
Now today I find this sobering bit of information! Now I know where Putin is sending his warships!Russian Military Analysts are reporting today that President Putin has issued orders to the Russian Interior Ministry to ‘immediately’ dispatch Spetsnaz (Special Forces) troops to Iran to protect ‘vital’ Russian assets, including the Bushehr Nuclear power plant.
These reports state that this order from President Putin to the Interior Ministry includes the phrase, "against any and all hostile forces", and which analysts state is a direct threat to US and Israeli Forces currently massing for their planned attack and invasion of Iran.
According to these reports, President Putin was ‘strongly’ lobbied by Saudi Arabia to create a ‘buffer’ against further US aggression in the Gulf Region, and which the Saudi King in his talks with President Putin this week stated his belief that the United States after attacking Iran would then set its sites upon his oil rich nation.
The fears of Saudi Arabia about an American takeover of their oil fields was further confirmed this week with the pronouncements of US Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns to end US oil purchases from Venezuela, and which would leave only the Saudi Kingdom able to make up the difference in lost oil to the Americans. http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/...
At first glimpse some may think it a bit paranoid for Saudi Arabia who is supposed to be an important U.S. ally, to be worried about Bush attacking them. However, this report states that , that was also one of Bush's goals from the very Beginning. regardless of the source this speaks the facts as to what Bush is up to there. http://www.larouchepub.com/...
This is all very disconcerting knowing what this is leading too and no one wants a diplomatic way out. We have said from the beginning this would end up being China, Russia, Iran, and others against the U.S., Britain, and Israel. bush has been purposely pushing the world so he can follow his plan for new world order and it is rapidly getting out of any control. It is beyond me how he can get away with keeping news from our airwaves that the rest of the world hears routinely. this is like a third world country. he is pursuing his dire goals while keeping us in the dark. He complains about the left wing media getting in his way while he is the one that controls the media and to our demise.

A No Brainer: Bush's Health Care Proposal or John Edwards?

A No Brainer: Bush's Health Care Proposal or John Edward's? Democrats must hold off until we can implement a real program!

First I have to say that I for one am sick of being threatened with passing inadequate Bush Proposals or suffer the consequences. As you know, we suffer the consequences every time his proposals that benefit everyone but those who really need them. we must ignore his health proposal until we get a Democratic proposal and one that really helps those that need it.

Bush has proposed a major shift in tax policy that would for the first time treat health insurance costs as taxable income."Today, the tax code unfairly penalizes people who do not get health insurance through their job," said Bush, who will visit a hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and will be meeting with health care experts at the White House next week.

"If you buy health insurance on your own, you pay much more after taxes than if you get it through your job," he said. "I proposed to end this unfair bias in the tax code by creating a standard tax deduction for every American who has health insurance, whether they get it through their job or on their own."

Bush wants a tax deduction of $7,500 for individuals and $15,000 for families regardless of whether they buy their own health insurance or receive medical coverage at work.If passed by Congress, the proposal would be the first time that workers could get a tax break for medical insurance costs. But it also would be the first time that some employer-provided health care benefits would be taxed. Health care benefits provided by companies are currently exempt from income and payroll taxes. http://www.cnn.com/...

Why doesn't anybody call him on this? He brags of a tax break but does not say he is going to make your employer contributions, taxable. This is not a benefit to you but rather it seems to be another benefit for business owners. Compare that Bullshit proposal with John Edwards idea!

I don't really look at it this way but John Edwards Health Care proposal is said to be embracing a position that has been political suicide in the past by admitting he would raise taxes.

Unless I am missing something and if I am you will let me know, I don't look at stopping the tax Breaks to the wealthy as a tax increase and I think the majority, the average American who does not benefit from this warped tax cuts that Bush insists on making permanent will look at it the same way. Is there something else I haven't heard?

Anyway as you probably know by now he is proposing something that is way over due. He is calling for Quality Health Care coverage for everyone in what is being called the first major domestic policy initiative from a Democratic White House hopeful.

I happen to agree with that analysis and believe it is about time we start hearing concrete differences and ideas coming from our Democratic Presidential hopefuls.

The so called tax increase would pay for the plan's cost of up to $120 billion a year. Edwards' proposal would require that every business provide health care coverage for employees or help them pay for it and thus every American would have insurance.
I agree with Edwards proposal 100%. It is far superior to anything I have heard in the past and I agree that it will be cheaper for families and businesses to have insurance coverage while providing health care to the nation's 47 million uninsured.

Affordable Health care for all is said to be the number one domestic issue of our time and after getting control of our America again I can agree with that. What do you think?

John Edwards to me is setting the standard by taking on the big issues important to most average Americans and that is Iraq and health care. His plan would free up money for health care coverage by abolishing President Bush's tax cuts for people who make more than $200,000 a year and by having the government collect more back taxes.

He has my vote but of course his idea immediately opened him to criticism that he's a tax-and-spender in the mold of Walter Mondale. Again unless I am missing something I do not think of John Edwards as a tax and spend Liberal but rather as a progressive with good solutions to our problems.

As you know the idea of universal health care is not new. Schwarzenegger has proposed it for California and Romney has proposed it for Massachusetts. Romney's plan is proving to make more expensive than he led people to believe and may prove to be inequitable to those who need it the most.

I know Edwards is well insured in contrast to most of us but I believe that what John Edwards is proposing is a winner. After having his own personal experience with our current health care system bureaucracy after being frustrated dealing with it when his wife was suffering from breast cancer I believe he can now speak from experience and being in the position he is in, should have the answers to our health care system.

His plan also would provide government-funded insurance to all adults under the poverty line and all children and parents under 250 percent of the poverty line, which is about $50,000 for a family of four. The Edwards campaign is still working on other cost estimates, but says the goal would be to keep the cost to 5 percent to 7 percent for middle-income Americans. Love it! He would try to clamp down on rising costs with tax credits, expanded government programs like Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program, and changes to insurance laws to require coverage for all regardless of pre-existing conditions or other factors. And he would create nonprofit purchasing pools -- across a small area or maybe even several states -- so that consumers would have a way to buy an affordable and high quality plan. http://www.cnn.com/...

I really believe these are all fantastic proposals and would love to see them come to fruition. As you know, expanding Government programs like Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program, and changes to insurance laws to require coverage for all regardless of pre-existing conditions or other factors is an idea whose time has come.

As you know, it flies in the face of what Bush is proposing in his 2008 Budget proposal and it has already given birth to other ideas by potential Democratic Presidential nominees. This all adds up to a win, win for Average Americans. http://www.dailykos.com/...

Bush does not deserve commemoration on Presidents Day. He deserves his own Day, Un Presidents Day!

As you know, tomorrow is Presidents Day. I do not believe Bush should consider himself amongst the ranks of our Presidents that we commemorate on this day. I do believe we should start a movement to give the chief idiot and Decider his own Day. I propose calling it "Un Presidents Day". I suggest it be celebrated on Halloween because Bush is masquerading as a President.
Bush is the anti America President! I did not elect him. He does not represent me. He does not represent our America. He is in this for himself. The people did not elect him. The courts did so he could follow his agenda not ours.He has taken over our America to follow his agenda to create "his" version of America. http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/...
Thus he should be treated and remembered accordingly. It shouldn't be too hard to understand for anyone but Bush but until he "happened" I was of the frame of mind that Once elected the man was automatically deserving to be called President. However, we did not elect him so a new precedent must be set.
As a man you earn the right to be called "a man" the title does not come with being a "male" As a woman you earn the right to be called "a woman" the title does not come with being female.
In turn Bush was not elected as President the courts gave him the title so he should have to earn the right to be called "President" and he most certainly has not. He as the Decider has proven that he is not our President but instead has proven to be the "Un president"
Luckily for us and the world Bush is in a class of his own. and there is no positive connotations to it. He is a terrible example of leadership and as he is in a category of his own he should be treated accordingly, put in a class of his own and be given his own day called Un Presidents Day! What do you say?
Just one note! Yesterdays vote on Bush's surge shows us we must get rid of the vast majority of these Republicans if we are ever to get anything positive done for the people or the country. There should just be enough around. Everything to do with this Bush Mis Presidency is a nightmare and Bush must be remembered accordingly. I am sick of hearing the likes of Lindsey Graham accusing us of playing Political games when in fact it is them. http://voanews.com/...
We must stop this Bush nightmare and I again propose we name a day just to mourn the fact that Bush ever happened. What say you?

Will Congress stop Bush or will Al Qaeda's oil policy?

Yesterday we heard The Republican veterans speaking in favor of keeping our troops in the middle of the civil war in Iraq. That is unconscionable. Keeping them there will change nothing and they will follow us home and everywhere else in the world regardless of the childish rhetoric.
The non binding resolution did pass 246 yeah, 182 Nay with 17 Republican's joining Democrats. It was a rejection of Bush's policies but he doesn't care yet. However, it is not just about pacifying our base as Republicans childishly argue. It is all about satisfying their warmongering base. We want the right thing done for our troops, my sons included. that is what it should be about not satisfying Republican egos and whittling down doing the right thing for our troops to a Republican pissing contest disregarding the desires of our troops.
Many of the troops can be seen now saying it is time for them to leave Iraq. They did their job and I have to agree. I have to tell you, the Republican bullshit that we are dishonoring our troops if we pull out before the job is done id just that. My sons love what they are doing and
One is headed willingly back to Iraq in April. However being lied to and treated in a way to disgrace them and our America is more important than saving Bush's little face.
I refuse to believe that Democrats have been reduced to playing the republicans childish games but I hope it works. Something has to!
In a letter to the president on Wednesday, Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, said, "thousands of the new troops" being sent into Iraq "will apparently not have the armor and equipment they need to perform the mission and reduce the likelihood of casualties."
Demanding that troops meet certain requirements before being sent into harms' way was an idea initiated by Rep. Jack Murtha, the top Democrat on the House committee that oversees military spending.
Murtha said in a letter to Bush on Wednesday that thousands of the new troops" being sent into Iraq "will apparently not have the armor and equipment they need to perform the mission and reduce the likelihood of casualties."Demanding that troops meet certain requirements before being sent into harms' way was an idea initiated by Rep. Jack Murtha, the top Democrat on the House committee that oversees military spending.
I refuse to believe that Army Chief of Staff Gen. Peter Schoomaker said protective gear for troops in Iraq was not a problem."Obviously, we are not going to put any force into theater that isn't properly trained and equipped," Schoomaker said. I mean what kind of bull shit is that. They have been doing it from day one and they know it yet they still have the nerve to blatantly lie so they can have their way. There is no conscience here and it is sickening.
I am sick of hearing mindless arguments made by Bush followers and ignorant demands made by Bush so he can have his wars and follow his plan for new middle east and order. what about our troops? What about our America they supposedly care about? What about being honest and putting the interests of the country first? The games must stop! If Republicans really care about our America they better start making believe they mean it and get our troops home we they are needed and stop the lies and the games. http://www.cnn.com/...
Okay, I have to say our Democratic Congress is trying but now Bush is daring them to create a binding resolution to stop him and the funding of the troops. Bush really pisses you off with his ignorant undeserved audacity. Dealing with the chief idiot really makes you evaluate what you think about Al Qaeda's latest efforts to stop Bush.
As you also may know, a Saudi Arabian terrorist group with ties to Al Qaeda has called for Muslims around the world to attack oil installations – including those in Canada, Venezuela, and Mexico – in order to stop the flow of oil to the United States. NBC reports that the group, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, posted the message on its online magazine Sawt al-Jihad, or Voice of the Holy War.
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula said in its monthly magazine posted on an Islamic Web site that "cutting oil supplies to the United States, or at least curtailing it, would contribute to the ending of the American occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan." The group said it was making the statements as part of Osama bin Laden's declared policy. It was not possible to verify independently that the posting was from the terror faction. http://www.csmonitor.com/...
I can't possibly see anyone wanting our fuel supply cut off or even seriously curtailed. How do you think this will affect the so called war on terror? Would this bring the parties together? Will it serve to further Bush's middle east involvement? Would this curtail Bush where Congress seems unable to? Give me your thoughts on all this please!

Veterans of past wars should be respected but hold no sway over Bush's created mess in Iraq!

First I don't have to tell you that this is the first time a U.S. President has ever attacked a country and started a war. As you know, there was never justification to attack Iraq in the first place. now that Bush has his in, in the middle east he will not leave Iraq until he can find his excuse to attack Iran. And he is working real hard to achieve that original goal.
I refuse to believe that a fight to ensure that the right thing is done with our troops in Iraq has boiled down to a cat fight in Congress. Democratic veterans against Republican veterans, Democrats wanting the right thing done for America and our troops and Republican veterans wanting the right thing done for Bush and his plan for new order in Iraq and the middle east. I respect all our veterans including every male member of my family going back to WW 1. However with that said I do not believe any veteran from any war should denigrate that status while trying to argue in the defense of Bush's unprovoked created idiocy in Iraq.
Republicans seeking to defend President Bush's troop buildup in Iraq tapped military veterans among their own ranks to lead the debate Thursday as Democrats relished likely victory in their fight for a resolution opposing Bush's policy.
These people better grow up! This can not go on being treated as another childish political game. Democratic veterans are right in coming forward and insisting on the troops being withdrawn from Bush's failure in Iraq that was a given from day one and nothing will prevent that.
The Republican veterans speaking in favor of keeping our troops in the middle of a civil war is unconscionable. Keeping them there will change nothing and they will follow us home and everywhere else in the world regardless of the childish rhetoric.
The non binding resolution is not just about pacifying our base as Republicans childishly argue. It is all about satisfying their warmongering base. I have to tell you, the Republican bullshit that we are dishonoring our troops if we pull out before the job is done id just that. Lowering Recruiting Standards is Really hitting me where it hurts but I have to open myself up!

The U.S. Military has lots of complex missions, from fighting wars to building the advanced equipment and weapons needed to fight them. People are always amazed, for instance, the first time they step foot into the mile-long Air Force Plant No. 4 on Fort Worth's west side and see multi-million-dollar fighter jets rolling off the assembly line. But as stunning as that is to behold, it's nothing compared to the job of retooling more than 100,000 kids into U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines year after year.
And as the Iraq war drags into its fifth year next month, the raw material that the Defense Department has been molding into freshly-minted troops since 9/11 is becoming a little frayed. That's led the military to boost recruiting incentives, but even that is not always enough. So when the sign-up bonuses don't bring in sufficient bodies, the military has long held its nose and issued a variety of waivers to allow once-barred candidates to join the services.
Not surprisingly, given the grinding ground war in Iraq, the Army and Marine Corps are the two branches issuing the most waivers these days. The Army granted more than double the number of waivers for felonies and misdemeanors in 2006 than it did in 2003, the year of the Iraq invasion, according to just-released Pentagon data.
Such waivers allow recruits with criminal records, medical problems or poor aptitude scores to enlist despite problems that otherwise would bar them from service. Most are so-called "moral waivers," which include some felonies, misdemeanors, and drug and traffic offenses. Such waivers grew in the Army from 4,918 in 2003 to 8,129 last year. For the Marines, the total grew only slightly, from 19,195 to 20,750 (the higher Marine total is due largely to its stricter anti-drug rules for recruits). http://www.time.com/...
Pentagon officials think these waivers may be a good thing because waivers are going down conversely in the Air Force and the Navy. it only makes sense to me. They use the stupid reason for the waivers as them wanting to give youngsters a second chance.
Knowing in the past that 14,000 Navy and Air Force personnel were given the choice of transferring to the Army or leave the military, I have to wonder about the value of entering the branch you want? In the past we know Bush has done whatever possible in order to keep the military ranks filled.
I for one remember during Vietnam that some of my own friends were given the choice of prison or joining the Marines and I must admit that some jumped at the chance. That is not my fear right now! I know there are many minority groups and immigrants who look at the military as their way up or to gain citizenship. There are also many rural areas in America where the military is the only way out for many and I understand this too.
Where I now have to open myself up is about my youngest son who is 18. I first must say that I raised his 3 older brothers and they all turned out successful. One is EOD due to leave Afghanistan April Fools Day (that is scary). Another one is due back in Qatar and Iraq where his air group will be flying support. A third son just stated that he would join if they would take him with his inhaler. I pray they will not.
My fear as I said is with the 18 year old. Knowing that Bush is sending more troops to Afghanistan and Iraq, also that the world expects Bush to attack Iran in April, I am scared for this ill equipped youngster who due to a grossly inadequate upbringing by his mother he does not have the tools to make a living in this society. I told him I just expected him to do the right thing after I got him graduated from grammar school to high school and I never saw or heard from him again.
He dropped out of high school and his brothers tell me he can barely talk. His brother sad yesterday that he was going to get his GED and join the Army. You know what that means. I Know at one time only high school Grads were taken but at this point it is almost anything will be accepted. I am really hurt that I raised my sons to be independent and 2 are serving supremely.
Now I have to fear that one who is not prepared for life and survival in a war environment is prepared to get into it because it is his only way out. I know I was left out of his upbringing so I am powerless to intervene. I also know telling you will not help the situation. I just feel I have to tell someone! What have we done?

Bush's Plan to attack Iran getting closer by the Day. Look at the latest Developments as he...

Bush's push to attack Iran getting closer by the day! It is moving so rapidly, look at the Latest Developments as he Lies about it Right now!
U.S. defense and intelligence officials sought Sunday to bolster the charge that Iran was providing arms to Shiite Muslim militants in Iraq, displaying munitions and weapons fragments that they said constituted evidence that Tehran was contributing to Iraq's violence.
They also alleged that a group under the command of Iran's supreme leader was behind the smuggling of weapons across the Iran-Iraq border.
The briefing, held under unusually secretive circumstances, featured three U.S. officials, none of whom would be identified, and two tables laden with what they said were uniquely Iranian military hardware and weapons fragments. http://www.latimes.com/...

As Bush continues to look for an excuse to attack Iran we are hearing Iraqi Shiites fear that growing tensions between neighboring Iran and the United States could leave them caught between defending a fellow Shiite nation and an ally that toppled their worst enemy - Saddam Hussain. http://www.gulfnews.com/...
Meanwhile of course Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says US accusations that Iran is providing weapons to Shia militias in Iraq are an attempt to hide Washington's own failures.
http://www.alaskareport.com/...
Myself I happen to believe Bush is merely looking for his excuse to attack Iran in order to further his planned new middle east order.
To me proof that Bush is doing what he can in order to find an excuse to attack Iran is that General Peter Pace The top U.S. military officer said Tuesday the discovery that roadside bombs in Iraq contained material made in Iran does not necessarily mean the Iranian government was involved in supplying insurgents. http://www.foxnews.com/...
So we have General Pace agreeing with Iran while Bush insists on ignoring them both as usual. I am right now listening to Bush say it doesn't matter if Iran is involved or not. This guy is an idiot! All that matters is that he find his excuse to attack Iran as he did in Iraq.
To top it off we heard yesterday that The Iraqi commander of the Baghdad security crackdown announced that Iraq will close its borders with Syria and Iran for 72 hours as part of the drive to end the violence that has threatened to divide the capital along sectarian lines. http://www.foxnews.com/...
I have to wonder if this too will at this juncture only serve to worsen the situation by making confrontation inevitable!
As I said at the moment I am listening to Bush speak and he is to me looking for an excuse as I keep saying, to attack Iran. to worsen the situation we hear today that U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell reiterated on Wednesday that the United States believes al-Sadr is in neighboring Iran. Caldwell declined to speculate on what would prompt al-Sadr to go there. http://www.cnn.com/...
Of course Iran is denying it but once again it is one more reason for Bush to antagonize Iran and find his excuse to attack them as was Bush's plan from the beginning and the world expects to come in April. http://www.dailykos.com/...

The U.S. is not a Democracy today, Iran war is a given, and Giuliani will be elected despite what ..

The U.S. is not a Democracy today, Iran war is a given, and Giuliani will be elected despite what we want!
Since the 2000 elections it has been painfully obvious that the United States is not a "real" Democracy. It no longer matters what "we the people" think as we see proven every day. The old guard here are not going to allow change and "we the people" are once again going to have to drive that change. It has become quite obvious to most that they do not matter and the old guard will not stop lying to them so they keep their power and control.
I firmly believe that most realize Gore if the only person supremely outfitted to clean up after Bush and help bring America and the world successfully into the future. Many hate Giuliani and unless Republicans steal the election again which many of us do fear especially with the un checkable electronic voting machines, there should be a Democratic President in 2008.
However, as much as we like to think we matter and are told we do, The American people do NOT elect their President. They just think they do. So as much as we need a Democratic
President in 2008 and to me preferably Al Gore, I am afraid my man Gore will never be allowed in.
Al Gore will never be president as we need in order to proceed into the future we perceive. I am afraid our next president will most likely be Rudy Giuliani. He's a 911 insider so they "owe" him the position and his reputation for handling emergency situations will be very attractive to the American people considering the US will be at war during the next elections and it will not just be Iraq and Afghanistan..
I noticed yesterday that there was a diary in the recommended list by Wes Clark titled Is War with Iran Inevitable? I must say I did not respond to it because he said absolutely "nothing" we haven't discussed numerous times. I hate to be the one to tell him but what he thinks does not matter. As what Congress thinks, he and no one else will sop Bush's plan to attack Iran. That should be obvious to a blind man by now!
Bush attacking Iran was a given from the beginning. It was Bush's original goal when he diverted from the war on terror to attack Iran. That was merely the first step in prosecuting his new middle east order. He will not be denied now.
At this point a lot more is set in motion than Wes Clark mentioned. The whole world knows it though Bush will continue to deny it. I have mentioned it many times in the past. this is just one of many preparations Wes Clark did not mention and we have discussed many times. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/1/31/95724/9049
When all is said and done I am convinced that whatever anyone says or does Iran will be attacked and Bush is still drumming up a reason to do it. I noticed last night on NBC nightly news that once again Bush was discounting our top 16 spy experts who are saying that there was nothing concrete against Iran.
Iran will be attacked by Bush or it will be ensured that the next President does it in order to complete the plan for new order. With this in mind I am afraid that despite the growing Draft Gore campaign many of us are behind in order to reverse harmful environmental and middle east policies, that Giuliani will be elected by hook or by crook.
He has come out against Al Gore's correct environmental and middle east stances and promised to stay Bush's miscourses in both the environment and the middle east. http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2007/2/13/80719.shtml
With all that said I am afraid that those behind who gets elected as President, whoever that may be, will get Giuliani elected so they can keep their power and stay their course of new middle east and world order to the demise of peace lovers around the world. Bush and Cheney are too cocky and arrogant, taunting us and Congress and you have to wonder what they know that we do not?

Gore, Branson $25 million virgin Earth Challenge an Awesome Idea poses 3 important Questions...

Gore, Branson $25 million virgin Earth Challenge an Awesome Idea That poses 3 important Questions in light of Bush!
As most know by now, Sir Richard Branson and Al Gore have set up a new global science and technology prize – The Virgin Earth Challenge - which will award $25 million to the individual or group who are able to demonstrate a commercially viable design which will remove at least 1 billion tons of atmospheric carbon dioxide per year for at least ten years without harmful effects. The removal must have long term effects and contribute materially to the stability of the Earth’s climate. It is the largest science and technology prize ever offered.

The Virgin Earth Challenge will initially be open for five years; the judges will meet annually to determine whether a design has been submitted during the previous year that in their view should win the prize and, if so, they may award the prize without waiting for the five year period to elapse. If no winner has been selected at the end of five years, the judges may decide to roll the prize forward for a further five years.
Branson called on governments and members of the international community to join in The Virgin Earth Challenge by matching or adding to the prize available to encourage the greatest number of entrants of those who could come up with a solution which could save our planet. "If the greatest minds in the world today compete, as I’m sure they will, for The Virgin Earth Challenge, I believe that a solution to the C02 problem could hopefully be found – a solution that could save our planet - not only for our children but for all the children yet to come," Branson said. http://www.environmentalleader.com/...
This is an absolutely phenomenal idea and I do believe it will be done. However remembering a while back where some scientists were advocating pumping tons of pollutants into the air to act as a buffer to the depleting ozone, I have to ask 3 important questions. One: Is it really doable as I believe? Two: If it is doable will it only serve to allow bush type idiots who refuse to admit there is a problem, to pollute even more thereby negating any improvements?
And most importantly! Three: Knowing we seem to be insistent on heading towards WW 3 and worsening the situation exponentially by attacking Iran and involving the entire world. I first want to say that I do believe Iran is guilty of arming Insurgents in Iraq thereby are guilty of killing Americans as we are openly accusing them of.
Senior defense officials in Baghdad said that Iranian-supplied "explosively formed projectiles" were frequently being used against coalition forces. They said the "highest levels" of Iran’s regime were responsible for giving them to Shia militias in Iraq.
These bombs are specially designed to penetrate heavily armored military vehicles and are capable of crippling the US army’s main battle tank, the Abrams M1.They have killed 170 US troops since June 2004, according to the American officials. They added that some weapons have been captured and they bore the hallmarks of having been manufactured in Iran. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/...
* It all boils down to this: like you I do not believe we should be in Iraq to start with so Iran killing Americans is Bush's fault and it was only one of the facts he ignored in order to implement his new order by attacking Iraq. However, that aside is Al Gore's and Richard Branson's laudable efforts all for nought?

General Petraeus, Robert Gates, Vladimir Putin, All speak the truth, Of course Bush discounts them...

General Petraeus, Robert Gates, Vladimir Putin, All speak the truth, Of course Bush discounts them to stay the course of war!
On Tim Russert I just heard Republican talking head Senator Boehner say that General Petraeus will tell us how things are going in Iraq. Wait a minute! Petraeus has already weighed in.
The new US commander in Iraq has warned the country is "doomed to continued violence and civil strife" if American and Iraqi forces fail to work together to improve security.
As America's troop surge in Baghdad gathers force, Defense Secretary Robert Gates is already planning for failure. If the battle for security in Iraq languishes, he has told Congress he is prepared to move troops "out of harm's way".
Policy experts at the Pentagon are drawing up plans for a fresh change in strategy should it be required. "I would be irresponsible if I weren't thinking about what the alternatives might be," Mr Gates said. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...
Knowing that the Pentagon is planning for failure in Iraq I first have to say that failure in Iraq was a given from day one and it will not be stopped and it will encompass the entire middle east.
Yesterday Speaking at a conference of the world's top security officials, including the Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani, Putin said nations "are witnessing an almost uncontained hyper use of force in international relations." Sadly to me most of us can see where it is headed. "One state, the United States, has overstepped its national borders in every way," he told the 250 officials, including more than 40 defense and foreign ministers.
"This is nourishing an arms race with the desire of countries to get nuclear weapons," Putin said, but did not elaborate on specifics and did not mention the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. He accused Bush of seriously changing the balance of power. Don't for a minute think Russia and china are going to lie there and let Bush attack Iran as he stupidly thinks. http://news.yahoo.com/...
To top it off yesterday I was sent this story titled: Target Iran: US able to strike in the spring, Despite denials, Pentagon plans for possible attack on nuclear sites are well advanced
Ewen MacAskill in Washington Saturday February 10, 2007 The Guardian Yesterday was Finished off with :
US Defense Minister Robert Gates called for increasing US army in order to be ready for a large-scale operation. North Korea, Iran, Russia and China are listed among potential enemies.
"We don't know what's going to develop in places like Russia and China, in North Korea, in Iran and elsewhere," the Pentagon head said at US Senate Armed Services Committee hearings. He supported increasing military expenditures, as it will allow increasing the number of "free detachments."
The statements seemingly shocked Americans. I'm telling you I have said it here many times and have sometimes been ridiculed for it but It completely shocks me and I somehow missed this. http://www.regnum.ru/...
This really bothers me because I have been saying for quite some time now that Bush will stay the course in Iraq until he can find the excuse to attack Iran as most of the world expects to happen in April. I also find Gate's statements very troubling since I have also said for some time that when all is said and done China, Russia, Iran, and the non aligned Nations would join together and go against the U.S.
We must know this and Gate's statement proves it! What Gate's calls a possibility is a known fact as I see it and Bush knows it and is preparing for it.

Draft Gore Now! With every passing day it's more critical to the future of America and the world!

Draft Gore Now! With every passing day it becomes more critical to the future of America and the world. Todays events prove it is critical.
I believe many of you feel the same way and we have discussed it many times in the past as to how important it is to have Al Gore in the Presidency in 2008. as many of you know I feel he has spent a life time preparing for the position and we and the world need him now.
At this point I have to say that like you I was terribly disappointed the way things turned out the last time he ran. However Bush has created as far as I'm concerned a world crisis that only one man stands a chance of bringing us through, so I am happy he is available at this critical time for America and the world.
I am sure most of you are aware that there is a Draft Gore Campaign for 2008. Despite the fact that Gore has said repeatedly that he would not seek the office in 2008 many of us believed he would if it was known that he was wanted and greatly needed. Join me below the fold!
I am very happy and consoled with the fact that Veterans of Al Gore's past are quietly assembling a campaign to draft the former vice president into the 2008 presidential race -- despite his repeated statements that he's not running. His top policy adviser from his 2000 presidential campaign and other key supporters met Thursday in Boston to mull a potential Gore campaign.
I understand the meeting was informal and not a sign there would be a Gore campaign. However, knowing that this is an early stage conversation but is being explored very seriously I for one am praying for it to happen. We need him now more than ever!
Since the election was stolen from him in 2000 and we all became dismayed the former Tennessee senator has worked against global warming and served on corporate boards, including Google and Apple Inc. Due to a range of business ventures, aides have said Gore could spend as much as $50 million of his own money to launch a credible presidential run.
The Gamut now runs from the Academy awards to the white house and many groups have been lobbying in the background for his return to Presidential Politics. It is extremely promising to me that Dylan Malone, co-founder of Al Gore.org and organizer of a political action committee trying to draft Gore is not being waved off by Al Gore as he was in 2004.
As Malone has said, the difference from the past is dramatic and we need him now. Gore's time is now! http://www.cnn.com/...
With every passing day it is becoming more critical to have Al Gore's guidance as Bush's damage becomes more visible. Today Speaking at a conference of the world's top security officials, including the Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani, Putin said nations "are witnessing an almost uncontained hyper use of force in international relations." Sadly to me most of us can see where it is headed.
"One state, the United States, has overstepped its national borders in every way," he told the 250 officials, including more than 40 defense and foreign ministers.

So far today is Finished off with :
US Defense Minister Robert Gates called for increasing US army in order to be ready for a large-scale operation. North Korea, Iran, Russia and China are listed among potential enemies.

When all is said and done It is quite obvious that with the state of the environment and the world today that is more critical than ever that we have Al Gore at the helm in 2008 to deal with the many crises here and around the world and we must all do what he can to make that happen.
