Governor Perry knowingly executes innocent man

Bush is known as the Texecutioner However, Governor Perry knowingly hanging an innocent man and now trying to cover it up dwarfs even the Texecutioner!

Governor Perry of Texas first to knowingly execute an innocent man Perry replaces panel members who wanted an investigation!

Governor Perry of Texas appears to be upholding the highest standards of Bush the Texecutioner! I heard about this and researched multiple stories on it! Perry executed the man based on unproven information and when the truth came out and an investigation was called for Perry dismissed the entire team saying their time was up. Gee it had nothing to do with the fact that they knew the fire was an accident not arson and Perry knowingly hung an innocent man?

Perry abruptly removed three members of the Texas Forensic Science Commission including the commission's chairman just two days before they were to meet to review the evidence that Cameron Todd Willingham was innocent. The new chairman a prosecutor not a Defender who has now replaced a defense attorney on the commission canceled the hearing for the time being. Gee what a coincidence and in time to cover up before a reelection campaign!

Perry, who maintains that Willingham was guilty, defended the move by saying that their terms were up, so we replaced them. Nevertheless he said that the abruptness of their dismissal appears a bit suspicious. No you think? Then let them do this first unless you know you're guilty! The innocence project is right saying that it looks an awful lot like a governor who's interfering with a science commission because the science demonstrated that we've executed an innocent person. There was no arson it was an accidental fire!

* In closing I am an eye for an eye guy but especially in an instance like execution you have to "know" not think you know. The death penalty should only be used in extreme cases and this was not one of them. Look at the links and there are many more. It is obvious Perry knowingly executed an innocent man. Now the Governor fires the independent Chairman and two other members of this Commission right before they were going to prove he knowingly executed an innocent man. Again The innocence project is right saying It's like Nixon firing Archibald Cox to avoid turning over the Watergate tapes. We can not let him get away with this.

But let's not forget this beast considers himself to be "pro life".

Yeah, he's as much a pro life executioner as he’s a patriotic America-loving secessionist.

Such a Republican hypocrite, or would that be redundant?

If the SOB knew for a fact this man was innocent he needs to be charged. BUT since we can't get even a bit of accountability for any of the hundreds of crimes of the last nine years it sure as hell will not start now. If only it could. These fuckers do what ever they want when ever they want as often as they want because they can and they know that nothing will happen and that's why they do it.

Oh my god Jim, this is awful. I am so against the death penalty because of such things happening. How often is a man in prison innocently? We've had our share in this country. (and you are missing a great episode) X

Two things to consider here. Texas executes more people than any other state in the union. Second a murder conviction requires the jury to judge without a reasonable doubt of guilt. Of all the cases that have been overturned I wonder how many have been from Texas? Sad that nothing will bring Todd back but to not want an investigation is unconscienable.

Good luck with your protest but don't expect miracles.

Dave we should be used to these scummy hypocrites but they just seem to get worse. Executing a known innocent man is going way too far. The bastard should pay with his life!

This is one of the drawbacks of having the state as executioner. Once anything gets to state level, everything becomes politics, and life or death of innocent people is just part of the game to those guys. Perry is untouchable. Shocking.

And the fellow is pro-life? WTF!

Hi Holte! I refuse to believe that in a case like this Perry is untouchable. This is a travesty and can not go unrewarded. I am peeved that Bush and Cheney can get away with their crap but this is even worse to me. Can they just kill Americans and get away with it?
