Because of our success in Afghanistan and Pakistan Al Qaeda leaving for Somalia for another cause!

Gains in Pakistan Fuel Pentagon Optimism for Pursuing Al-Qaeda

Al Qaeda leaders under significant pressure: Pentagon official

I just heard this morning that Americans have killed more suspected militants with drones and Pakistan is closing in on remaining strongholds but that leads me to a question. I have long been curious why Baitullah Mehsud has not been targeted more aggressively since the Pakistani military has been in Waziristan where as we assumed, they now say they will have a permanent presence as they must. 31 militants killed in NW Pakistan operation

I understand that Baitullah Mehsud has built a powerful army in South Waziristan in his local Mehsud tribe by offering guns and employment to young members. He now has a dedicated armed militia of thousands ready to do his bidding. I understand he is threatening Washington and the White House saying we will be surprised by an attack that will amaze the world.

That does not really concern me but I was wondering why Pakistan has not directly gone after the Mehsud tribe? He supposedly had Bhutto killed and is responsibly for hundreds of martyrs with suicide belts and much of the death and destruction in the cities of Pakistan. Then reading the story at the link I hear their is a secret deal between Mehsud and the Pakistani Government. I also heard Pakistan is not strong enough to take his army on and I find that hard to believe.

My thought is that they can't afford not to. I do not understand with the damage Mehsud is doing in Islamabad, Lahore, and other cities, Pakistan does not go after Mehsud. I know they are hoping the US drones kill him but he appears to be Pakistan's biggest threat today.Mehsud wants power and he is not going to lay down arms even if the US did leave Afghanistan. Pakistani warlord threatens to launch attack on Washington

He is not going to lay down arms and before this is to be controlled he will have to be dealt with. Because of Pakistan's offensive in the Swat valley and Waziristan I understand Bin Laden and Mullah Omar are being closed in on and I have to wonder if they are protected by Mehsud. However that is not my focus right now.

Because of our success in Afghanistan and Pakistan's success many Al Qaeda are packing up and leaving the border war for greener pasture in Somalia and a new Jihad! I think that is great but we will then have to deal with them there. We have to and will follow them around the world until they cease and desist! Al Qaeda fighters move into Horn of Africa, officials say

Residents of Mogadishu, Somalia's capital city, have reported seeing foreign fighters among Al-Shabaab, the radical Islamic militia that is battling to overthrow the weak transitional government. Increasing amounts of foreign fighters are being reported. Al Qaeda there is not now. They were training there in the early 90s and I am sure everyone remembers Black Hawk down

The western backed Government of former rebel President Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed is under increasing attack. This is one more failed case of AlQaeda appeasement. Sheik tried to appease the militants by promising to install Sharia law. Sound familiar? With increasing western support Al Shabaab and his growing force of militants are becoming a bigger threat and creating a growing concern.
Somali violence explodes as stabilization fails - Yahoo! News

In closing! Of course we do not want to get involved in Somalia! Pakistan learned first hand the folly of trying the course of appeasement as has Afghanistan and all the rest of the world. With our success in squeezing them in Pakistan and Afghanistan they are moving to Somalia to a new Jihad. Destruction of the western installed Government and the installation of strict Sharia law. We know what that means! Somalia hopefully not in addition to current fronts but it will be the next front in the so called war on terror.

Hi Naj
We managed to get rid of Bush, now this. I am really concerned. I just finished putting things together on this for tomorrow but I will keep updating it. This is not good, not good! Thanks for the link Naj I will check it out in a minute. Take care!

Naj - Yes there were protests during the Bush reign. In fact he had to sneek into the white house by the back door. Since corporate America owns most of TV here none of it got broadcast. Note that whenever Bush spoke the last four years of his term he did so at military bases where soldiers can not by rule speak against him. He even went so far as to have buses line his parade route so that the TV cameras wouldn't see the protesters. And I'm sure none of this made it to the world news.

You are right Bush hid hid behind the military and on the bases.

Naj I just watched that and I have seen it many times but not like that. I really hope the people make a difference. I guarantee it and you know it they were majorly cheated.

After hearing Ahmadinejad say he is going to the UN and see who is against Iran and say Iran will cut off the hand of anyone that raises a hand against Iran.

Obama has ordered the military in the middle east to stand down and avoid confrontation with the Revolutionary Guard. I am very concerned!

yeah what can I say? very concerned as well, and I do definitely remeber Black Hawk down! Just couldn't believe the way they were deployed, in broad daylight on completly unreliable intel! frankly when I watched the movie I was just totally surpised that there weren't even more casualties and fatalities!

I mean who makes such insane decisions? And the article you wrote... don't you think, if people in charge wanted to do something about Talibuttfucks&Co, they would do? I mean in a slightly more goal-directed way?!

The civilians have to get involved like they are in Pakistan! I am very concerned as I watch Iran rebel against the Dictator. It looks like 1979 all over again!

Civilians involved in Africa - what will that bring? the choice between short sleeves or long sleeves? I mean the people are just so nuts and so barbaric! I don't think they are up to it. First they need to be taught how to raise their own children properly... and so much more!

I know democrathy would be nice and should be the best thing, but what do you do when people can't even treat themselves decently?

And I am thinking of certain people, friends, former collegues from Africa while I am writing this... conditions there do really suck and it's almost impossible for the individual to do the right thing.

Iran: the problem is also that they aren't up to the challenge. These people have lived under suppression all their lives. Most of them don't dare to do anything else but to perhaps be nasty to a couple of family members. And those who do stand up and do accept a prison sentence for that... well they sound like heros... but unfortunately not everybody's hands are clean there either... absolutely not an easy situation, I can tell you that much!

Hi Sofia
In Africa they will just kill each other or something. I do believe though that with 70% of the population below 30 and wanting change4 and better relatio0ns with America those people are pissed. I believe we are watching another 1979!

Sarah Sofia Ganborg said...

they do get very easily pissed down there and that's just the problem!

I'm still waiting for Obama to end all these wars instead of sending more troops.

an average patriot said...

Hi Sarah, I believe Somalia could be the worst of all of this if we get too involved there.

Larry, Obama at least with these wars will change nothing but his willingness to talk and have peace. He will send troops wherever he deems necessary to take on so called Al Qaeda.

I have been predicting for the past three years ..
I am glad, finally we see the truth..war with al-Qaeda jehadist started in somalia and will end in somalia......Clinton to cut and run in Somalia. ..

I just saw this! I checked out the site. That is something. That is the most comprehensive look at what is going on there yet. We will end up there I would say and it will be harder than Iraq ans Afghanistan but I do not think we will have a choice. Somalia has been festering for too long!
