Another successful Taliban attack as they kill 24 more of their enemy, women and children in their intimidation program

Roadside bombs kill 24 in western Afghanistan: "Two landmines placed by the enemies of the Afghan people on the road in the Kotali Tark Abad district of Herat struck two minibuses at 8:30 today. As a result, 24 innocent civilians — including women and children — were killed and 11 others injured,” President Karzai said.

Remember a year ago when Mullah Omar ordered the Taliban to attack civilians, Afghan women

Not long ago 10 civilians and all 6 gunmen killed in terrorist attack on the intercontinental hotel attack in Kabul Most of those killed as you may know were civilian workers so the Taliban must be pretty proud of themselves.

Taliban's offensive to destabilize region: In six weeks, more than 200 Afghan civilians have been killed and hundreds more wounded in a series of brutal suicide bombings, gun battles and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks across the country When are those people going to get the message and wake up? The bloody winter offensive targeting them is over but fighting season has begun.

August 18 Bombs Kill at Least 21 in Afghanistan

When are they going to get it? The Taliban are killing more civilians than ever hoping to get in control of them to kill and maim even more as they were before we attacked. Those civilians better realize that and take it upon themselves to start betraying and fighting the Taliban

Sixteen members from one family die in Taliban bomb

Taliban behind most Afghan civilian casualties: Insurgents are now responsible for about 85% of civilian casualties in the Afghanistan War, an increase from last year and a sign that efforts by the United States and its allies to limit their firepower are succeeding

When are the people going to realize the Taliban are there enemies. The civilians are the Taliban's low hanging fruit. They must come together and turn against the Taliban as many tribes in Pakistan have done and some in Afghanistan are now doing.
Despite occasional spineless blows in both Pakistan and Afghanistan on mainly innocent men women and children they are supposedly fighting for but are killing so as to cower and gain control of, we are making headway and it is time to quietly fade away. Our men and women have done their job.Let them come home with their heads held high. Despite expected occasional setbacks and victories for the Taliban this just keeps getting better and better:

Our soldiers did their jobs there meritoriously! Get them out now with their heads held high instead of hung low for joining unnecessarily Afghanistan's graveyard of nations. We are kind of stuck but we should give Karzai supplies to feed and arm his fighting forces otherwise let him use his families drug money, we should make a quicker exit by leaving most of our trucks and supplies behind but hell the Taliban will get them as well as the country anyway.

We could have used drones exclusively and stayed out of Afghanistan in the first place. Afghan civilians are going to get killed whether we are there or not once Sharia law is clamped down on them unless en-masse they wake up and take on the Taliban right now. There future they should know is in their hands not ours!

US and UN declare Haqqani network commander a terrorist and freeze Haqqani funds and assets:

US and UN declare Haqqani network commander a terrorist and freeze Haqqani funds and assets: what took so long? Go further... The ISI has been working with the Haqqani's so it is no coincidens that now Pakistan says the Haqqani's will talk. It is too late for talk but... Pakistan says it can bring Haqqani to peace talks: Pakistan's military says it can bring the notorious Haqqani militant network, considered one of the most lethal threats against U.S.-led coalition troops in Afghanistan, to the negotiation table. Instead, Washington is pushing Pakistan to carry out military assaults against ...

The Obama administration designated a key insurgent commander in southeastern Afghanistan as a terrorist Tuesday, freezing any assets he has in the United States and barring Americans from doing business with him. The State Department said Mullah Sangeen Zadran is the shadow governor of Paktika province in southeastern Afghanistan and a commander in the Haqqani network.

US tries to stem funds to Haqqani network commander: "As a result of the designation, all property subject to US jurisdiction in which Sangeen has any interest is blocked and US persons are prohibited from engaging in any transactions with him," it added. He is also blacklisted under the UN 1988 Sanctions Committee, which the State Department said requires all UN member states to enforce an assets freeze, a travel ban, and an arms embargo against Zadran.

I have to ask what the hell took so long and what about the leaders who are known terrorists and the two worst. Why are they still free? They are more inportant than Bin Laden, why are their assets not frozen? Why are they still free? We know where they are. They had a very personal relationship with Pakistan's ISI until recent;ly when they seem to have fallen out of favor.

We are finally decimating the Haqqani's but I think like UBL the 2 leaders are still protected be Pakistan's ISI "inter-service intelligence agency

With the death of Osama Bin Laden we were asked what his death would mean for the war in Afghanistan. Like the so called war on terror which includes the Taliban, Al Qaeda of every creed, and extremists of every ilk looking to carry on Osama's vendetta against the west, it will serve to fuel their cause. His death should mean just the opposite and it does to all true Muslims.UBL "Osama Bin Laden, betrayed Islam!

The Haqqani's are most important to the war on extremists in Afghanistan. Eradicating them is of utmost importance to our ability to succeed and go home as we hopefully really are in the process of right now. There is good reason why we are having increasing success but first, the Haqqani's and their legendary stature are holding the so called terrorists force together. Their stature is legendary and hard earned.

The Haqqani network and their increasingly foreign fighters have become the main focus after 9 years of fighting. The Haqqani Network's North Waziristan leadership -- usually called the Miram Shah Shura consists of a number of Haqqani family members and closely associated long-serving commanders.

At the top of the network is Sirajuddin Haqqani, who oversees the group's political and military activities and is the main liaison to the Mullah Muhammad Omar led Quetta Shura Taliban, the Taliban's leadership body (named for the capital of Pakistan's Baluchistan province). He is also one of the network's liaisons to Pakistani Taliban figures and al-Qaeda.

He travels regularly into Afghanistan 'or did" to coordinate with field commanders and occasionally to Peshawar and South Waziristan to connect with militants there. Remember Bowe Bergdahl? There are many field commanders in Afghanistan, but turnover is high because many get killed or captured. The most prominent is Mullah Sangin, who is believed to be holding Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl a captured U.S. soldier and Zakim Shah the movement's shadow governor of Khost province. Inside the Haqqani network

Jalaluddin Haqqani legendary leader who fought the Soviets and his son, Sirajuddin who directs operations are increasingly the targets of drones and now manned NATO aircraft in Pakistan as the Pakistani's have been leery to go in the area for whatever reason. Many are being killed, I heard over 80 in a week with no civilian casualties.

Anyway now we have killed 80 more in one encounter at a so called "secret camp" Bad days and bad times for the Taliban, they are being decimated There is a reason for this success as I said!

The Taliban think they are getting away with something but they are being watched closely by JSOC ready to pounce and take them out when given the command. I say give it now and save lives. My guess is the command has been given because the Haqqani's have been going down en-masse. The network is important but I think "they" should take out the Haqqani's first. I wish we would quickly kill the Haqqani's, both Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin and leave the rest to Pakistan.

Iraqi-cities-rocked-by-surge-of-violence compliments of the United States and George W Bush

Iraq 'more deadly' than year ago says Iraq watchdog: He said the killing of US soldiers and senior Iraqi figures, had risen, along with attacks in Baghdad. The report contradicts usually upbeat assessments from the US military.

At least 59 die in wave of attacks across Iraq: The violence struck from the northern city of Kirkuk to the capital of Baghdad to the southern Shiite cities of Najaf, Kut and Karbala, and emphasized the persistent ability of insurgents to wreak havoc at a time when Iraqi officials are weighing whether they are able to protect the country without the assistance of American troops.

Iraq's cities rocked by surge of violence: The attacks, which took place in 17 cities and wounded more than 230 people, were quickly condemned by parliament speaker Osama al-Nujaifi, who blamed security leaders for unspecified "violations." In Monday's worst attack, a roadside bomb in the centre of Kut, south of Baghdad, at 8am local time was followed minutes later by a nearby car bomb

Iraq attacks raise new concerns about US pullout

Bush ignored all good advice to the contrary and guaranteed this civil war that will envelop the entire Middle East Arab spring aside and we are doing our damnedest to stay in the middle of it so we can take on Iran which is why Bush attacked Iraq to get us back in the Middle East in the first place. In Iraq, why American troops might stay: Despite all the reasons to get out, American military officials have often sounded as though they would rather be invited to stay than given an excuse to leave. And, indeed, some defense analysts have said there are good reasons to maintain a presence, albeit reduced, in Iraq. We don’t need a large combat presence,” said Anthony Cordesman, of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “We need Special Forces and perhaps some forces who would be effectively combat troops.” The desire for a continued American presence as a counterweight to Iran is shared privately by some Iraqi lawmakers and Al-Maliki may be able to persuade the government to accept American “instructors” on Iraqi soil.
We have discussed this numerous times as to setting up Custer's last stand in Iraq, last on 7/16

If we don't leave Iraq in 2011 it will be Custer's last stand on a grand scale period: I hate to say it but that appears to be our goal, perpetual war wherever we can find it.

If you have been following my line of thought on this illegal war in Iraq you know civil war was guaranteed from day one when Bush ignored the warning and why. Many of you will agree it is coming soon and it is inevitable. The Kurd's want us there to protect their free Kurdistan which will be over when we are gone.

The Sunni want us to stay in order to protect them from Shiite violence they feel is backed by Iran. Incidentally you can bet if not now Saudi Arabia will be helping the Sunni. Well what a surprise huh?

I still see a total civil war Sunni against Shiite erupting in the Middle East because Bush freed up Iran to instigate it on their end and they are. I still am concerned we will have a permanent presence in the Middle East but feel we will have to largely leave Iraq to her own demise. We will still be there but it looks like Yemen, and the Gulf of Aden will be the prime focus unless Iran gets something going between the US and Iran.

As you know, I talk about it often as I watch Bush's new Middle East (dis)order progress. He ignored Afghanistan so he could use the patriot acts powers to divert from Afghanistan to attack Iraq using the excuse of unseating Saddam so he could get in the Middle East to help Israel establish a buffer zone and establish a new middle east (dis) order or so Israel and Cheney thought. Bush at Cheney's urging made an abrupt shift in policy towards Syria, a shift that has now brought the entire Mideast region to the brink of war and chaos. Much worse than the hell on earth they created for Iraq. Did you ever read A clean Break a 2003 Executive intelligence Review that tells the truth as to our diabolical plans

That plan was put together in 1996 for Israel. They were just waiting for an idiot to come along so they could implement their plan for the Middle East. Along came the life long follower and life long alcoholic loser Georgie Bush. I wish I could say the rest is History but this is still barely beginning and just beginning to take shape. All Bush did by ignoring Afghanistan and attacking Iraq was to guarantee a loss of everything and a complete Middle East and Asian Breakdown.

We freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.

The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!

You know I firmly believe and have said so a million times by now that since 9/11 everything was construed to allow Bush to gain the power he needed to prosecute his new order not just in the Middle East but on the entire world! He diverted from Afghanistan to get back into the Middle East with the goal of setting up a larger safety zone for Israel and going after Iran. Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran!

What about the Kurds who want their autonomy and they do not want to share their oil fields period. Nuri Al-Maliki wants that issue resolved and it will never be. The entire middle east and north Africa and our more than century of interference and exploitation can take the blame for that too.

Bush has created a hell on earth for Iraq that he still calls liberty and success with promises to spread it throughout the entire Middle East Sunni against Shiite. Bush had long wanted a Korea style force in Iraq to secure the peace! That will never work in Iraq or the Middle East! Planting our military in the middle of the mess Bush has created out of the Middle East because of his failed Democratization program is going to be a Custer's Last Stand on a grand scale if we are still there when this breaks open! Looking at the war cabinet Obama has amassed I am going to say at this point that this is going to happen even under a President Obama. Watch out Iran, watch out world, watch out America!

Somalia offers al-Shabab amnesty, Al Shabab vows another Afghanistan

Somalia offers al-Shabab amnesty: Move follows withdrawal of opposition fighters from capital, which they claim was a "strategic step": Somali forces have reinforced their hold on Mogadishu, but al-Shabab called its retreat a "tactical move"

UN: Al-Shabab Weakened, Fragmented: The U.N.'s top diplomat for Somalia said Wednesday that there are significant improvements in the security situation in Mogadishu after the surprise withdrawal on Saturday by Al-Shabab insurgents from the city. Augustine Mahiga said the fighters have been weakened by national and African Union forces, and that they have split up as they pull back from the Somali capital. Ambassador Mahiga told reporters via a teleconference from Mogadishu that al-Shabab's so-called tactical retreat has fragmented the fighters into three groups. "One column going southwards, another going westwards, and another going northwards - and they are still on the move," said Mahiga. "This already weakens their consolidated strength." That is a pipe dream, they just do not get it!

Al Shabab leader vows to defeat a superior force: A leader from the Somali militant group al-Shabab says the group will pursue a guerrilla strategy like that seen in Afghanistan after their withdrawal from the capital and yes they did split but...

You better be very concerned that they did split and some are not headed to Yemen or merely waiting for the people to get their food so they can kill the people and take it?
Government troops do not care why Al Shabab pulled out of Mogadishu? Al Shabab has fought hard and strong there for their gains even amongst other rebel groups. They did not just pull out for the UN and the starving people. The Government is now occupying Al Shabab bases and touting it as a victory. They better be very concerned. Remember it is easier to attack than to defend.

We are watching many countries in the Middle East erupt all at the same time and I am a bit perplexed at the warped amount of attention and coverage given. Syria is being given a lot of attention and Yemen not so much even now that it is openly erupting. I have to believe that is because Syria is Israel and Iran's neighbor. A democracy movement right there is no threat to Israel but it is to Iran.

However Syria is Sunni and Iran Shiite so you may think their interference in helping Syria kill civilians and quell the Democracy movement perplexing. There has been a proxy war being fought in Yemen for quite a while now and Iran has been in the forefront of it. What is happening in Yemen is of utmost importance to Iran, us, and the world.

With our air raids in the East, civil war looming in the north, pro-independence protests in the south and al-Qaeda in the background " background? where is Anwar Al- Awlaki?" threatening a wave of attacks on America, Yemen is today’s war. To top it off Yemen is running out of water! There is more Al Qaeda there than in Afghanistan, why are we in Afghanistan and not Yemen?

Somalia will be the next war as those Al Qaeda who did not flee the existing wars to help in Yemen have gone to Somalia! Al Qaeda has always been in Yemen but it has now become Al Qaeda central. Their principle targets are Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the US, allies and allies in this so called war on terror.

The Saudi and Yemen branches of Al Qaeda have joined forces and many outsiders are moving in to join the fight. We must act in kind! Yemen is on the verge of being a failed state as you already know. Yemen is on the Abyss and we must help them for own good! What to do? They have been dealing with terrorism and insurgencies for years! They are not a failed state but well on their way and may be tomorrow! Their attention has been on survival as a country.

As many of you know by now my prime concern in Yemen was the interference by Iran in trying to get Shiite dominance there. Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program.

The goal now absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take.

In Yemen once again the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is the instigator. They are ferrying weapons through Eritrea to Yemen. They are now avoiding the Arabian Peninsula as Saudi Arabia has instituted a blockade along the coast of Yemen. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has also transported Lebanese Hezbollah fighters to fight with the rebels.

As you know, Saudi Arabia is also there fighting the Iranian backed Houthi rebels. So far there has been no direct confrontation. However I absolutely see what I have been warning about since Bush diverted from Afghanistan to attack Iraq and get back in the middle east to create a new middle east (dis)order! This is going to be total middle east war for a new middle east order like it or not, Sunni against Shiite.

It is looking like Yemen is going to be the first country down! The Middle East is right to be concerned. Yemen is going through severe domestic turmoil due to the violent activities of Al Qaeda, Houthi rebels in the north and the Southern Movement in the south. The remaining Jews are threatened with slaughter by the Shiite. How much longer can Yemen hold on? What is next?

Al Shabab in Somalia and Al Qaeda in Yemen are both reinforced by those fleeing the fight in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Somalia is a failed State and Yemen is rapidly headed towards being a failed State. They are perfect havens for Al Qaeda to set up new training camps in lawless regions.

Yemeni Al Qaeda previously sent arms and help to Al Shabab in their fight in Somalia. Al Shabab is reciprocating sending fighters to Yemen to help Yemeni Al Qaeda. Supposedly the so called experts say the three forces operating to destabilize Yemen from the North, South, and East will not join forces but you bet they will! Al Qaeda has been leaving Iraq, Afghanistan, and Mauritania; to use Yemen as their new base we in turn better meet them there with some kind of force. This entire so called terrorism war is barely beginning. This is not a war to end all wars but the war of all wars!

Be very concerned about what is happening in Yemen, Somalia, and the Gulf of Aden, the new front in the so called war on terror! Remember, it is better to attack than defend and Al Shabab can now go back on the attack in Mogadishu but knowing they did great damage to their reputation by starving Somali women and children a betting man would believe they left a skeleton crew in Somalia and the bulk are headed to Yemen to join the fight II would be watching the Gulf of Aden and other countries where they may be going to get to Yemen.

Live: Battle for tripoli plus Saif is free and vows Rebels led into a trap and will be destroyed

Live: Battle for Tripoli Gaddafi compound under attack right now!

To see Seif, who has become as hated as his father during the six-month conflict back on the streets a free men, was a great shock for the rebels. To see him on TV footage on the international media boasting to foreign journalists there that his father’s government was still “in control” was something nobody could have envisaged. He was full of himself as he said the regime had lured the rebels into a trap. It raised significant questions about the credibility of rebel leaders. It was not clear whether Seif had been in rebel custody and escaped, or was never held at all. His brother, Mohammed, who reportedly was on house arrest was also free, having escaped on Monday. Seif al-Islam showed up at the Hotel, in a convoy of armoured Land Cruisers. In brief comments he said his father and several of his sisters were safe in Tripoli, and that loyal troops had "broken the back" of the rebels who moved into the capital over the weekend.

Gaddafi had me for one convinced of a blood bath and he still make make sure there is one. Some 200 rebels rode into Tripoli's port and marched through the suburbs with Tripoli rebels to give them support. Gaddafi had earlier opened up the armories and issued AK47's to all the residents and anyone who wanted a weapon.

With no resistance rebels advanced quickly and I just heard on the news they have now made it to the center of Tripoli, Green Square where all the pro Gaddafi supporters were rallying to support him. It seems like Rebel efforts to reach the tribes loyal to Gaddafi and encourage them to rebel against Gaddafi or at least not to take up arms in his defense.

It seems to have worked at least up to now. It seems all the citizens have taken their arms and stayed home, the tribes that supported Gaddafi seem to have melted away for now. Rebels were able to rive right into Tripoli and arrest Seif Al-Islam without a fight.Seif who vowed to fight to the death and die on Libyan soil. Hm!

I was just listening to Gaddafi while writing this and he was laughing saying don't worry this is not over. The guy is a madman and has always made me nervous. I would put nothing past him. Months ago he warned of a blood bath with hundreds of thousands being killed. Libyan rebels enter Tripoli and arrest Gaddafi's son

Ghaddafi is not gone yet. His son Khamis is on his way with a Brigade of killers to protect his father and take back Tripoli. It is his threat to kill hundreds of thousands with his plentiful WMD that concerns me.

I remember a couple months back hearing that Gaddafi had issued gas masks to the murderous soldiers that supported hm. Remembering his original statement many thousands will be killed I am afraid he is getting closer to using his cyanide, mustard gas and vast reserves of chemical weapons. I have not heard anything about those weapons nor have I heard anything from the supposed 200,000 soldiers still supporting Gaddafi.

I have to wonder what horrible trick Gaddafi has up his sleeve. His demise seems to be near but you have to be very concerned as to what will come next in Libya. It is not just Libya we have to be concerned with as you know.

It would be nice to see this end with a Democracy but with Libya's many tribes many which supported Gaddafi including his own tribe plus the Islamists some of which have been fighting for the rebels I see a long hell here and combined with what we have done in Iraq and Afghanistan along with the still growing Arab spring and Syria and Iran...

Israel backs 1,600 settler homes with 2700 more to come: Enough is enough!

Palestinians to Seek Statehood Approval in September, Abbas Says To show Israel does not want a viable 2 State solution they try to beat the gun and make things worse, I am sick of this!

Israel backs 1,600 settler homes with 2700 more to come: Enough is enough! Israel will never stop building and they will never share Jerusalem. Israel will never agree to share Jerusalem period and will resort to war period, especially knowing the US will come to their rescue and it bothers me. This is really getting old!

Final approval has been given for the building of 1,600 settler homes in occupied East Jerusalem by the Israeli interior ministry. The ministry is expected to approve the building of a further 2,700 homes, an official has said.

I am sick of this crap. Israel does not want a two State solution, to share Palestine, or a two State solution. Israel is moving rapidly to beat Palestine's intentions to appeal to the UN for Statehood. I am sick of Israel's demonic behavior.

Bashar Assad is right, sanctions against him and Syria are to help Israel. I now have to wonder why we are really backing all these middle east and African nations in their bids for Democracy. I now wonder who all our sanctions really benefit. yes hopefully they help those fighting for their freedom. Yes hopefully sanctions benefit us as we attempt to create an environment beneficial in coaxing current dictators to allow their citizens to have their Democracy. However I now think bottom line is to create good neighbors for Israel who must live with their Arab neighbors. It is the Persian Iran I worry about the most.

I thought that was another great speech Obama gave on expectations for the middle east but speaking about Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Syria, Israel Hamas, and Palestine it was all about Israel. I was impressed when He came out and said Israel must go back to the 1967 borders which I do not believe they will ever do but he is the first US President to take the right stance. Obama Backs Deal Based on 1967 Lines

As Obama Endorses '67 Borders, Netanyahu Objects Of course, they do not want a two state solution and they will never share Palestine.

As we discussed there is a rising cry around the world for Israel to return to 1967 borders but they do not care and never will, only Israel matters to them period!

The only thing to do is to force the instigating war mongers Israel to adhere to 181 or leave them to their own demise and Iran would see to it. You know, first reading how Israel and Palestine was allotted their territories in 1948 I do not condone that Israel has not been forced to adhere to that resolution. We, the US Britain and Europe especially are as guilty as Israel for not insisting Israel adhere to UN Resolution 181<>/a>

Anyway our President's have been shoring up the dictators in the middle east as long as they do our bidding for a century. President Obama is the first one to come out and back the people not the dictators regardless of his motive. Bush started this middle east democratization and failed because he tried it by force. Obama will succeed because he is letting the people who want it take charge.

Bush failed to capture or kill Bin Laden because he was focused on Iraq, Iran, and creating a new middle east order for Israel. Obama focused on Bin Laden and got him while the people in Africa and the middle east worked on democratizing the middle east as they want it not us and that is the key. I have to be concerned about Iran because they are not and will not sit still for this.

In closing it is time to put this entire package called a new middle east "dis"order together and I believe Obama is the only US President who can do it. He must be reelected to work on it and he will be. The one feat that will elude him and the rest of the world that wants to see it happen is the implementation of a two state solution between Palestine and Israel.

I do however see peace between those in the Arab spring and Israel as Democracy and getting along is their goal not Sharia law or Muslim Supremacy. Islamists are trying to keep Bin Laden's message alive but to those in the Arab spring the message died with Bin Laden. On one side I am worried about Iran but on the other I am very worried about Israel the "righteous" war mongers. The only solution is to wash our hands of Israel and we can't do that with Iran there so we will be dragged into another fight.

U.S.and allies tell Assad that he must abdicate: Absolutely worthless as the sides are drawn for future middle east war

US says Syria's Assad must go, orders new sanctions: The U.S. sanctions and demand for Assad's exit were followed by a call from Britain, France and Germany -- three of the European Union's leading powers for Assad to go as well as growing condemnation of the Syrian leader, including from influential Arab nations such as Saudi Arabia.

What the hell good is that? It is worthless! We saw what it is worth against Libyan leader Moamar Gaddafi. Even Turkey and Egypt have spoken up telling Bashar Al Assad to stop the carnage. The sides are being drawn and Iran is happy to finally get this middle east breakdown going full swing.

Syria Said to Fire on Protests in Defiance of Global Rebuke: At least 16 people were reported killed including some soldiers who disobeyed orders to shoot at protesters.

That is all working well huh? For Iran and Syria anyway! Syrian forces have attacked a number of north-western towns and villages as part of a military effort to crush protests, activists say. They say tanks and armored vehicles entered Taftanaz, Sermin, and Binnish near the Turkish border on Wednesday.

Syrian forces attack town of Qusair near Lebanon: Syrian forces killed at least five civilians when they stormed a town near the border with Lebanon on Thursday, activists and a rights group said, in an escalating military campaign to crush dissent against President Bashar al-Assad across the country.

Syrian tanks fanned out across a neighborhood in the coastal city of Latakia on Saturday amid intense shooting that sent many resident fleeing to safer areas, a human rights group said. Rami Abdul-Rahman, head of the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said 20 tanks and armored personnel carriers deployed around the al-Ramel neighborhood in Latakia as the shooting erupted in the morning.

Gunfire in Syrian coastal city; 35 dead in 4AP - Heavy machine-gun fire erupted across the besieged Syrian city of Latakia on Tuesday as the death toll rose to 35 from a military assault now in its fourth day, residents and activists said.

Syrian troops roll into Saraqib: Syrian troops rolled into the northwestern city of Saraqib early Thursday morning, just hours after evening prayers there called for an end to President Bashar al-Assad's reign, an opposition group said. The west and its Middle East allies say they have had enough and the slaughter must stop or else. Or else what? Iran and Syria are calling us out!

Syrian 'warships shell port of Latakia':At least 19 people have been killed and 15 injured after Syrian warships and tanks opened fire on the port city of Latakia in two residential districts, activists have said. Sunday's deaths were reported as a military assault on Latakia extended into a second day. On Saturday, at least five people were killed and several were injured as at least 20 tanks and armoured personnel carriers rolled into the city.In Damascus, activists reported a siege on Sa'aba, east of the capital, on Sunday, in an attempt to prevent funeral processions for two people who were killed on Saturday night.

Iran and Syria seem to be welcoming our response as they are also influencing the Shiite leadership in Iraq and eager to impress their version of a new Middle East order which Bush set in motion by attacking Iraq and freeing especially Iran to pursue.

Another Proxy war is going on and is setting up this one between the west and their Middle East allies and Syria and Iran.

George w Bush purposely did this in his infinite stupidity: I have to reiterate something I have said too many times since Bush chose to ignore all warnings of total civil war spreading throughout the entire Middle East so he could attack Iraq and straighten out the Middle East as God spoke to him and instructed him to. As expected this democratization started by Bush has taken on a life of its own.

Saddam Hussein with his lies about possessing WMD kept Iran in check. Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with their chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.

The entire middle east and north Africa and our more than century of interference and exploitation can take the blame for that too.

Actually Russia, China and Lebanon have blocked a move for the UN Security Council to condemn Syria's crackdown on dissent. Sanctioning slaughter is more like it! I believe I remember hearing Russia weigh in against what Syria and Iran are doing but China has yet to weigh in. Any way you look at it we are playing into Iran’s hand.

You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria especially. Iran is not going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy,Iran is in Syria helping Bashar Assad and they do not want us interfering. What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it. The total Middle East breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

With Tripoli crumbling around him Gaddafi all of a sudden is violently ill and ready to leave

First Libya’s Security Chief Arrived in Cairo: Interior Minister Nassr al-Mabrouk arrived unexpectedly with his family on Monday, in an apparent high-level defection.

Gaddafi's rule is in last weeks, say rebels Things seem to be going their way but we shall see what happens next.

As rebels close in on Tripoli, Libya's interior minister Nasser al-Mabruk Abdullah has surfaced in Cairo with nine members of his family in a new blow to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

Refugees Flee Libya Oil City as Qaddafi Forces Dig In: People fleeing Tripoli said there was no electricity there on Wednesday, a further sign of the toll the rebellion has taken in Colonel Qaddafi’s stronghold, where prices of basic goods have soared amid shortages and sniping and bombing by Gaddafi forces

Not only are the defections hitting closer to home they are getting more increased as the rebels succeed with NATO help and the world increasingly recognizes the Rebels as Libya's only legitimate Government

I just want to end our commitment and head home where we should be. We have enough to do and Yemen and the Gulf of Aden the next front in the so called war on terror are heating up as we speak and getting ready to explode.

We can not get any deeper than we are so I am happy to see the rebels making gains , closing in on Tripoli, and Gaddafi for whatever reason now ready to take some family members and go to live in Venezuela. I have to wonder if Gaddafi's son Saif is going to leave too.

Gaddafi is said to be handing the country to his interior minister and not his murderous son Saif so it seems he is bending to all the rebels demands. That said I am very concerned that Libya like every other Muslim country we have attacked in the last ten years will devolve into civil war at the very least.

We must get out now and let the Rebel's show how much they want to get out from underneath Gaddafi and have a Democracy not a worse chaos. Anyway you look at it I see Libya and the surrounding region being a battleground for years to come that will dwarf Afghanistan and Iraq. Once again I am afraid we are to blame.

Another 20 to 23 Haqqani fighters killed along the Afghan Pakistan Border: The quicker we wipe them out the Quicker we can get out

20 Militants Killed In US Drone Attack On Pak-Afghan Border: The pre-dawn strike took place near Miransha, the main town in North Waziristan, one of the tribal districts used as hideouts by al-Qaeda and Taliban militants. The militants were associated with the Haqqani group that carries out frequent attacks against NATO and Afghan forces across the border from their bases in North Waziristan.

Another account:US drone 'kills 23 in training camp strike' Compound used by Taliban-linked Haqqani network in Waziristan destroyed, according to Pakistani officials: A US drone strike has killed at least 23 suspected Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region along the Afghanistan border, officials said. Pakistani officials on Wednesday said the unmanned aircraft fired two missiles, destroying a vehicle and a compound 3km east of Miranshah, the headquarters of the Haqqani network and a known hotbed of Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters That is great and I remember just prior to this 20 were killed a week ago. We also got the Taliban "Haqqani"? who shot down our chopper killing 30 Americans and 7 Afghani's

Taliban who hit helicopter 'dead': "The strike killed Taliban leader Mullah Mohibullah and the insurgent who fired the shot associated with the August 6th downing of the CH-47 helicopter," the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) statement said. Haqqani affiliates? The Haqqani network is being decimated this summer.

80 insurgents killed in Afghan Paktika province: official: A total of 80 anti-government insurgents have been killed in Paktika province 155 km east of Afghan capital Kabul over three days, a statement released by provincial administration said. Taliban leaders fighting Afghan and NATO forces in Paktika Province have had no comment. Hm?

The insurgents killed in the NATO attack were affiliated with the Haqqani group, a particularly effective and brutal militant faction based around a family originally from neighboring Paktia Province, according to a NATO statement on the attack. For several years the Haqqanis have been headquartered in Miran Shah in north Waziristan, one of Pakistan’s tribal areas, which explains why many of the fighters appear to have been drawn from there rather than from the Afghan side of the border.

On 6/11 we discussed that Taking down the Haqqani network was more important than Killing Osama Bin Laden to Afghanistan

In Iraq, why American troops might stay: You mean why they must get out now

We have discussed this numerous times as to setting up Custer's last stand in Iraq on 7/16

I was hoping we weren't this stupid but Custer's last stand redux is setting up in Iraq despite all warnings. Same thing in Afghanistan. What the hell is wrong with us? Obama May Break His Promise on Iraq Withdrawal: AP reports that the Obama Administration has offered to leave 10,000 troops in Iraq if its government so requests. Already the White House "has worked out options to keep 8,500 to 10,000 active-duty troops in Iraq to continue training security forces."

US 'offering' to keep troops in Iraq? More like begging for permission to stay: While that word "offer" has been repeatedly used by US officials named and unnamed in recent months, a better word might be "pleading." US officials insist that Iran has been expanding contacts and assistance to some Shiite militias inside the country. Here we come "Custer's last stand"

If we do stay we have long been warned and I smell a set up by the Iran leaning Shiite Government. This is a microcosm of the Custer's last stand if we stay in Iraq beyond this year that I have been warning about for years now.

What a surprise the Iranian-backed group Kataib Hezbollah that took credit for the recent killing of our 5 soldiers is one of three main Shiite militias operating in Iraq. Another as you know is Muqtqda Al Sadr's Mehdi army also backed by Iran, all are staunchly against the American military presence in Iraq and have vowed to oppose any move for U.S. troops to stay past their expected Dec. 31 departure date. What are we frigging stupid?

Iraq's fiery anti-American cleric Moqtada al-Sadr will "escalate military resistance" and unleash his Mehdi Army militia if U.S. troops fail to leave Iraq as scheduled this year. These are not Idle threats! What are we frigging stupid or just asking for it?

Meanwhile right from day one of his return Muqtada Al-sadr told his people to fight the American's any way they can till we leave in 2011. I don't think that will be the result of it but knowing the army is largely Shiite I have to believe the two soldiers were doing his bidding and my worst fears about Iraq and the middle east are coming true.

I have to reiterate something I have said too many times since Bush chose to ignore all warnings of total civil war spreading throughout the entire Middle East so he could attack Iraq and straighten out the Middle East as God spoke to him and instructed him to.

Bush has created a hell on earth for Iraq that he calls liberty and success with promises to spread it throughout the entire Middle East. He has long wanted a Korea style force in Iraq to secure the peace! We were concerned because we knew that would never work in Iraq or the Middle East! Planting our military in the middle of the mess Bush has created out of the Middle East because of his failed Democratization program would be a Custer's Last Stand on a grand scale!

He freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program.

Watch out Iran!

Senseless police killings worsen in our degrading society: Are police fears of a war on cops valid? You bet

South Dakota police officer killed, 2 others wounded in shooting: A police officer was killed and two others wounded in western South Dakota's Rapid City after a man pulled out a gun and fired several times at them Tuesday, authorities said. The shooting was the first on-duty officer fatality in the city of 68,000 since 1985.

Another policeman shot and killed just for the hell of it
Officer 'extremely critical' after apparently unprovoked shooting: A police statement says the officer was at an intersection late yesterday afternoon when a car linked to an earlier shooting came alongside. Witnesses told police someone fired a shotgun at the officer from the passenger window. The man was called suicidal which brings "death by cop" to the forefront but that is another story in our growing hell.

Kill a cop continues to be more popular than ever

police fear a war on cops and there is ; In January In just 24 hours, at least 11 officers were shot. The shootings included Sunday attacks at traffic stops in Indiana and Oregon, a Detroit police station shooting that wounded four officers, and a shootout at a Port Orchard, Wash., Wal-Mart that injured two deputies. Then two officers were shot dead and a U.S. Marshal was wounded by a gunman in St. Petersburg, Fla.also two Miami-Dade, Fla., detectives were killed by a murder suspect they were trying to arrest. Last I heard the death toll is now up to 189.

Rise in Officer Fatalities Called 'Unacceptable' by Holder

'Keep Them Safe': Feds Seek To Stem Police Deaths Forget it, it will get worse as our situation degrades.

Last year "really marked the deadliest year for law enforcement in nearly two decades and that is obviously very worrisome." Holder said before his meeting with police chiefs from more than 25 cities and representatives from several federal law enforcement agencies. "This year we are unfortunately on track to exceed the number we saw last year," Holder said. "These numbers are simply unacceptable. Our law enforcement officers put themselves in harm's way every day."

Twenty-three officers and federal agents have been gunned down this year compared to 15 officers killed by guns at the same time last year. A total of 49 officers have been killed already this year, including five federal agents, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Those figures do not include a shooting in Athens. A total of 162 officers were killed in 2010, 61 of whom died from gunshots.

This will continue to get worse! It is no longer just the nut cases fearing Obama wants to take their guns, It is not just the lone wolf's. 50 million are without health care and the right want that to continue, millions have lost their homes, millions have lost their jobs, and regardless of what we hear it will continue to get worse.

Last year with desperation increasing there were 162 police killed. People are increasingly desperate and emboldened to take on and kill cops often as a way to kill themselves. Sadly for us this is all normal and a natural part in the end of the life cycle of a society. 10 other officers shot nationwide and we had a short respite, the respite didn't last long!

First, as a society we were following the natural life cycle of a Nation and were moving along the path of the Roman Empire and every other society before us. Bush had merely sped that process up! He was doing the same thing to the planet as he thinks he was doing Gods work. God however will get these idiots for doing what even they the Religious right say was his to do.

Okay, every life form is comprised of many living forms. Some are designed to further the life of the host some are designed to bring that life form to an end, example: cancer cells! Man's role to the life of the planet seem to be that of the cancer cell.

We are going against the cycle of life man and the planet are in and life only moves in one direction, forward, and we are trying to turn the clock back.

Man has taken his ability to live and learn, an ability that has sustained and nurtured him for thousand of years and forgotten he ever had it. It had served us well throughout are creativity. Through the beginning of the 20th century man has been going through the maturity stages of his existence. Like a maturing teenager man now thinks he has all the answers. However he has none of the right ones. Would you send your Grandmother off to war? That is something you can relate to. Likewise man and the planet can not survive a world war this late in the life cycle of man and the planet. Whoever ushers in a new world war must be held personally accountable for knowingly and unwittingly bring about the end of the civilized world and our planet.

Whether you believe in Nostradamus or not, he gave us two scenarios at this juncture in life. We had two roads we could follow into the future. We could take the peaceful road down a successful road into the future or we could take the road into conflict that would lead to destruction of man and the planet as we know them.

* Sadly man seems to have chosen the 2nd road and with nuclear conflagration or planetary destruction in many forms staring us in the face: We seem to be leading the way to our and the Planets demise! I wrote this seven years ago but again it is dead on please read the whole thing
In the end we seem to now be here not to further the life of the planet our host life form but to end it.

Al Shabab leaving Somalia, Mogadishu, regrouping, or heading to Yemen?

Spokesmen: Islamist militia leaving Somalia: Islamist fighters who officials feared would attack famine victims pulled out from many bases in the capital overnight, a move that could speed up the delivery of humanitarian services, the prime minister said Saturday. A spokesman for the African Union peacekeeping force said the militants had blended into the civilian population, making them even harder to fight. And the al-Qaida-linked group insisted it was merely a tactical withdrawal to launch a counterattack."We shall fight the enemy wherever they are," al-Shabab spokesman Ali Mohamed Rage told a local radio station. You better be very concern they are not headed to Yemen or merely waiting for the people to get their food so they can kill the people and take it?

Government troops do not care why Al Shabab pulled out of Mogadishu? Al Shabab has fought hard and strong there for their gains even amongst other rebel groups. They did not just pull out for the UN and the starving people. The Government is now occupying Al Shabab bases and touting it as a victory. They better be very concerned. Remember it is easier to attack than to defend.

Well look at this. Fighting erupts in Somali capital after Al Shabab supposedly leaves: Fighting erupted on Sunday in Mogadishu between government troops and al Shabab insurgents a day after the rebels said they were leaving the Somali capital and the government declared it controlled most of the city, residents and officials said.

Russia joins the US and the UN calling for Syria to end violence against peaceful protesters but Iran will never allow it

UN rights investigators have warned Syria to stop using excessive force against peaceful protestors. In a joint statement, independent experts have called on President Bashar al-Assad’s government to halt its violent crackdown that has resulted in executions and other crimes punishable under international law.The start of Ramadan has seen no let up in the violence. That said Iran and the IRG will not stop and will not allow a Democracy in their only middle east ally.

We keep hearing that the writing is on the wall for Bashar and his days are numbered. They may be but it is a big number and Syria and Iran are not going to be deterred by what we say. I know the protesters vowed not to be deterred stating they will break the Government period but there is no way. The Syrian Government will kill and arrest who they have too. Iran will accept nothing less and they "the IRG" are in charge!
I remember the Syrian opposition saying that they would not stop and would ultimately defeat the Government saying Democratic transition would safeguard Syria from violence. As outsiders looking in we know nothing could be further from the truth. People are being imprisoned and murdered and I can not see that stopping until the Democracy movement is crushed. Supposedly this expected situation is begging for us to get involved but we damn well better not. Unless that is going to war with Iran is the goal.

Those of you that follow me know going after Iran is why Bush lied to get to attack Iraq and get back into the Middle East. Iran is helping Syria, us helping the protesters is exactly what Iran wants so they can bring out in the open the war against the United States.

I have to reiterate something I have said too many times since Bush chose to ignore all warnings of total civil war spreading throughout the entire Middle East so he could attack Iraq and straighten out the Middle East as God spoke to him and instructed him to. As expected this democratization started by Bush has taken on a life of its own.

The entire middle east and north Africa and our more than century of interference and exploitation can take the blame for that too.

Actually Russia, China and Lebanon have blocked a move for the UN Security Council to condemn Syria's crackdown on dissent. Sanctioning slaughter is more like it!
