Iran's Great Prophet IV

Iran's Options: Transparency Or Sanctions

Tehran continues to flex its muscles: Iranian exercise, codenamed Great Prophet 4 are being held as Israelis mark Yom Kippur. During drills the Revolutionary Guards Air Force has now successfully fired short medium and long range missiles supposedly to show they can defend themselves against any one any time. Theoretically they can now reach our allies in the middle east including our bases there and can reach Israel and Europe. This is supposed to be good for Iran? Iran test fires two missiles capable of reaching Israel, US bases

Iran has been getting lessons in how to make your “enemies get pissed off, North Korea has shown the way and they didn't get attacked. Mondays launch if it was successful as we are told means it can hit Israel. Iran is as expected being defiant but I do not see anything positive in this for Iran because I hope Obama is not as stupid as Bush and will handle this with kid gloves not a fist.

I am hearing from Republicans that Obama should cancel the upcoming talks with Iran. That is something Bush would do and would be totally counter productive which I would expect would have been his goal. I still believe something can be worked out here but China has to step up. For China, Iran uranium plant no game changer

Russia urges restraint over Iran missile, nuclear reports

Military exercises are normal as Iran points out timing them at the same time Israel celebrates Yom Kippur is of course no coincidence and proves to me that despite Iran's assertions that its missiles and military might are purely for defensive reasons they are designed to show iran will act offensively if they feel the need. That concerns me and our response would worry me.

Here we are at the eve of nuclear talks and Iran has now test fired their long rang missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads if they can get their hands on them and reaching our bases and allies in the middle east as well as Israel and Europe. This is very provocative and I am very pleased that Obama made the decision to cancel Bush's MDS and use the mobile water based aegis system as I would expect they are already in position in the gulf and they are proven and reliable!

Before I finish on this would hope you gloss over what I wrote April 22nd because it is increasingly obvious that Iran is the chink in the armor that is Obama Iran will continue to be increasingly aggressive! Like you I continue to hear how Bush's screw you in your face politics kept the world in check and us safe. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Thank God everyone stayed in check despite Bush's bullying war mongering efforts. I have yet to hear why if Bush knew about the supposedly secret underground facility years ago why he did not say anything? If we knew about it for years then it was not a secret! Is there a real problem here or are we once again creating one where there is none to use it for personal gain. I do not see anything good here for anyone.

In closing there is very different rhetoric coming from Obama compared to Bush who did his best to instigate war with Iran. Ahmadinejad said Obama is a man he can do business with but is Ahmadinejad a man Obama can do business with? The US threatens crippling sanctions on top of the three sets already in place. In the end I have to agree with Ahmadinejad that who are we to tell Iran what they can and can not do? What are our options though?

It will really depend on whether the IAEA can get in there and inspect as well as the completion of their questions.
Interestingly Iraq has said that they will not permit any country to use its air space to bomb Iran.

China seems to be the stumbling block here. They are doing a lot of business with Iran, and it would not be in their interests to see sanctions bring Iran to their knees.

Iran's Options: Transparency Or Sanctions

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha

When America has an assumption, or gets an idea in their head, transparency is a non sequitur. Need I remind anyone of Iraq's transparency? Where did THAT get THEM?

In the video, Clinton repeatedly says Iran should, "Prove it". How does one prove a negative, when the questioner already has their mind made up differently?

Regardless of what is disclosed, the U.S. will push for more sanctions. That is their goal, to punish the Iranian people for not agreeing that America and Israel are God's gifts to the planet. I seriously doubt that China and Russia will allow that.

Clinton still insists, contrary to common knowledge, that al Qaeda is still operating in Afghanistan. She insists we not let them operate anywhere. Where will our next invasion be? Somalia? Nigeria? Sudan? Liberia? Oh, wait, I got it: Maybe Antarctica?

Idiots! It would be far smarter to contain and observe them. Instead, we have scattered them around the globe. What are we going to do if they start setting up shop in Russia or China? Will we send in drones? Will we threaten them with sanctions? If this weren't so damn serious, it would make prime-time comedy.

On another note, I saw your comment to my last post, did you see today's story? It's about your friends, the Pakistanis.

You must see the September 28 edition of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart interviews a guy called Bruce Bueno de Mesquita who predicts the future of Iran's nuclear program with his computer models. Very interesting.

Hi guys!
And James, I just wanted to pass by to say hello, I'm just still so occupied with the renovations that there's very little time to comment anywhere... even though there are many things I would have liked to have said... still managed to post a couple of things on my own blogs...

Re China: they really scare the hell out of me, especially the fact how much the US ows them!
I mean that's basically it! Human rights don't mean a shit anymore, soon states like China will have taken over economically because we can't get our cat together and produce decent products at a price we ourselves are willing to buy. So those who do win. but of course they aren't douing a proper job either, it's also just a quick fix - but in a different way: atb the expense of human rights.
You guys worry about armed conflicts... I mean that's understandable, but what really scares me is economical take-over and the suppressive laws that are passed which hold all of us down...

Demeur Iran will let them right in or so they say I just wonder why Bush never said anything about this known plant and why now? Is this to further hamstring Obama?

I know Holte! I think we only have a month before Netanyahu acts. I think it will take Chine to step up because Israel and Iran will not back down. This is not good!

Brother you have a good point there about China or Russia. I don't think I saw the latest on Pakistan but I am pressed for time big time today as I have to go down to the VA for the vast majority of the day. I will check things out though, take care!

Hi Sarah Sofia! I found myself wondering about you yesterday, I figured you were pretty busy with renovations and everything else. The average citizens of the world do not matter. They are merely cannon fodder as the world jockey's for position to go through the 21st century!

I will have to check that out Holte if I can make a second today. Thanks!
