I decided to take a day off from discussing Politics and Georgia and lighten up a bit but not totally: However check out the very real Air car!

Amidst a potpouri of concern a look at the air car coming in 2010 at $18,000

The 6 passenger air car coming in 2010!

Then Knowing there is A keen sense the West cheated Moscow out of promised warmer ties after the Cold War explains why Russia, recovered from post-Soviet collapse, has refused to be cowed over Georgia and demanded its views be heard. and of course they did! Georgia was the final straw for Russia

* U.S. 6th fleet flagship carrying aid to Georgia * Putin says U.S. military advisers involved in conflict, We are in the Black Sea along with Russia and Russian troops deep inside Georgian territory are stopping thousands of refugees from returning to their homes, a Georgian official said on Saturday. Russia blocking return of Georgian refugees

Knowing John McCain first met Sarah Palin only six months ago and had just one conversation with the Alaska governor before offering her the vice presidential slot on the Republican ticket, the Arizona senator's campaign said Friday. How McCain chose Palin

One friggen meeting what the hell is this idiot on? Begala is right! In choosing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate, he is not thinking "outside the box," as some have said. More like out of his mind. McCain is out of his friggen mind!

And what a surprise in this Police State! Police raided a rental hall used by a group organizing protests at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Friday. The RNC Welcoming Committee, which describes itself as "anarchist/anti-authoritarian," accused St. Paul police of trying to disrupt their protest planned for Monday, the day the GOP convention is set to begin. With guns drawn WTF?

Knowing Louisiana's Gulf coast is only one of the oceans growing Dead zones which is an aquatic graveyard known as a "dead zone." No sea life! It grows rapidly and is now 8,000 square miles of nothing!

Amidst this and much more a tiny ray of Positive news! The Air Car: You've heard of hybrids, electric cars and vehicles that can run on vegetable oil. But of all the contenders in the quest to produce the ultimate fuel-efficient car, this could be the first one to let you say, "fill it up with air." That's the idea behind the compressed air car, which backers say could achieve a fuel economy of 106 miles per gallon. Plenty of skepticism exists, but with many Americans trying to escape sticker shock at the gas pump, the concept is generating buzz.
The technology has been the focus of MDI, a European company founded in 1991 by a French inventor and former race car engineer. New York-based Zero Pollution Motors is the first firm to obtain a license from MDI to produce the cars in the United States, pledging to deliver the first models in 2010 at a price tag of less than $18,000. The concept is similar to how a locomotive works, except compressed air -- not steam -- moves the engine's pistons, said Shiva Vencat, vice president of MDI and CEO of Zero Pollution Motors. check it out it is very real and here now!

What a coincidence. I'm in the middle of writing this week's "That's My Take" and the focus is on fuel efficiency and energy independence. I may have to add the "air car" to the segment.

Do it Bud! I am a hydrogen advocate but this is a great idea and old technology. If it only gets 75 mpg I'll take that! It pisses you off because you know if they wanted an alternative we'd have it already! They do not want to see the oil and gas monopoly infringed upon!
I was on the phone for an hour with Tomcat this morning and he put mo on as an Author. We did a little one today but I told him I would only do it if he was on the other end of the phone. I want his words and input not mine!
