Coalition air raids hit Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's birthplace of Sirte, the next target for westward-advancing rebels.

Advance Explosions have been heard in Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's home town of Sirte - as the rebel advance west towards the capital Tripoli was halted by Libyan government forces.
