What does Vick's vicious stupidity say of our Overall Morality? What should happen to him? Can his case help society?

I have been caught up with our crumbling infrastructure and our crumbling leadership and degrading environmental conditions around the world but particularly America. I have been following the sick case of Michael Vick particularly wondering what could make a person of his stature be so inhuman and with so much to lose? Then this morning I started gathering information that is out there because I started as usual to think of the big picture, that being the state of American morality.

When I first started writing I was motivated to write about life in the Trenches of Society and it encompassed a history of American Morality and how we must regain it to succeed into the 21st century. This unbelievable behavior by Vick and sadly numerous instances today shows our morality is an indication that our society as a whole is racing towards the demise of the Roman Empire. Can we use this outrageous example of inhumanity to help our society? How do you think this should pan out? How do you think this will pan out? Let's review what is known and tell me what you think!

As most know by now, now that Vick's accomplices in killing dogs let alone letting them fight and maim each other agreed to testify against him. It blows me away in the first place that someone with so much and so much to lose can do anything to jeopardize that. Anyway now Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is waiting to hear if he'll ever play professional football again after agreeing to plead guilty and face prison in his federal dog fighting case.

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank told the NFL Network Monday he could not speculate on Vick's future as a Falcon, at least not until he has seen "a statement of facts" in the case. As far as I am concerned it should be over and if society is to get anything positive out of this, it better be. Blank said he was "not really surprised" by news of the quarterback's plea deal. I was because he should have admitted to his stupidity and guilt a long time ago.

" From a personal standpoint, he's doing the right thing," Blank said. "That's been my counsel to him some while ago, and publicly as well, to get this behind him as quickly as he can." The plea deal, Blank added, was "a step, and we'll just deal with the facts as they become available." That means he will try to escape from the repercussions of those facts as they become known. He already knows what they are. Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter," Martin said.

After Vick's indictment last month, Goodell ordered the quarterback not to report to training camp until the league completed its own review of the case. An NFL spokesman said that the league "is aware" of Vick's plea agreement and is considering what, if any, sanctions they should impose on the 27-year-old. I don't understand? what is there to consider? He should be black listed or we are sending a terrible massage that will further degrade society in the future. Someone has to start doing the right thing for society and not their pocketbooks.

Federal prosecutors offered to recommend an 18- to 36-month prison sentence for the suspended star quarterback for his alleged role in the dog fighting operation, but that Vick's attorneys were trying to reduce that to less than a year. of course The judge in the case will have the final say over the plea agreement. He better do the right thing and give Vick an appropriate sentence for fighting, killing, and then burying 8 dogs and lying about it. His career should be over or this will only serve to harm society. Not only that but his two co-defendants say the money behind the Bad Newz Kennels dog fighting operation came "almost exclusively" from Vick

Falcons owner Arthur Blank is accusing Michael Vick of lying to him and the NFL and I'm sure he did. Now the Falcons must decide if they will sue Vick to get back some of the $22 million they paid him to cover the last three years of his contract. That would require owner Arthur Blank to swallow hard and keep Vick on the roster, a smart business move, but a potential public-relations disaster. Vick is still listed on the Falcons roster on their web site. He will have to wait to see if NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will bar him from playing in the league. There are a number of very good reasons why the commissioner should crumple Vick's future like a paper ball, toss it in the garbage can under his desk and be rid of the problem.

First, Vick almost certainly lied to Goodell when he denied any involvement in the dog fighting ring, let alone financing the operation and personally taking part in the grisly executions of animals that lost. As part of his plea agreement, Vick will have to own up to all those things and perhaps illegal gambling or associating with gamblers, which under NFL policy can get a player banned for life. this guy should be cooked. His career should be over, I don't care how promising it was. He should have thought about that before he did it not after he was caught. This crap has to stop!

Second, the league in general and the commissioner in particular has little to gain by letting Vick put on a uniform again. America loves its pets, and the outrage the indictments sparked outside NFL headquarters continued throughout opening day at the Falcons' training camp, with sign-wielding protesters at the gates and a fly-over by a plane trailing a banner that read: "New team name? Dog Killers?" That was only a taste of what Vick's next employer can expect. Third, plenty of league personnel directors and general managers already regarded Vick as poison. I don't care how much he apologizes. It is too late for apologizes. an example has got to be made. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/13932855/detail.html

I agree with Jay Mariotti that this is a disgrace to humankind and our society. So now he's 'very remorseful,' wants to apologize and 'accept full responsibility for his actions.' It's too late. Sick Vick has got to go. Lying to the commissioner's face can't help Vick's chances of playing in the league again. He lied to Goodell. He lied to Arthur Blank, the Atlanta Falcons owner who thought Vick was revolutionizing the quarterback position three years ago and gave him a $130 million contract. He lied to fans throughout the nation who were captivated by his skills, lied to his mother after promising her last month that he would clear his ''good name,'' lied to the people of Atlanta who used to worship him but watched him flip an obscene gesture at them last year. Worst of all, he lied to himself. ''We totally condemn the conduct outlined in the charges, which is inconsistent with what Michael Vick previously told both our office and the Falcons,'' Goodell's office said in a release.

If deceit doesn't nail Vick, gambling might. As detailed in the indictment, the Bad Newz Kennels dogfights involved racketeering. Vick was mentioned specifically by Tony Taylor, one of several chirping members of his former entourage. The NFL prohibits links with gamblers, and any player found to be involved in illegal gambling can be banned for life. ''It's certainly an issue,'' Goodell said. ''Law enforcement may be concerned about certain things about this. We may be concerned about other aspects of this. That's why we want to evaluate what the government has. We don't know all of the facts on that.''

I don't care how remorseful he is, of course he is remorseful for all those lost millions. Forgiveness is impossible and he is a disgrace to humanity. We have got to start sending the right message to society or else. Tell me what you think about all this?

Personally I think they should hang the Son of a Bitch. Buts that's just my personal opinion.

How about sending him to Gitmo and having the Guard Dogs guard him? You know, like they did with the so called enemy combatants we've seen pictures of.

Kick his ass out of Football otherwise we truly are on not only the same path as Rome, but also as Germany under Hitler.

God Bless.

I agree with you more every time you talk. I really wish we could send someone that does something like that to Gitmo or Abu Graib or something.

Yes, what a disgrace! He should reap the wraths of what he has sown!

This guy needs to have Ham juice spread over his naked carcass, and thrown in the pen with a dozen of those fighting dogs that they starve before a fight.

Let him get his noids ripped apart like he has done to innocent animals.

This guy represents the elitist principals of the conservative movement.

He is wealthy, thinks he is above the law, and probably is, believes his own press, and loves the slaughter of innocent lives.

He does belong on the front lines of Iraq.

Hi S-Q
I agree! As far as I am concerned an example should be made of him for sciety. We have got to stop condoning this miscreant behavior. It is very troubling as we try to move successfully into the future. Not a good sign!

I agree with you. I like what someone said to me on kos and that is that he should have gone to a country where it is allowed. I disagree with everything involved with this but I can accept that but not in America where it is illagal. An example should be made of this swill.

I agree with you 100% as usual. You know, I had a good response to this on kos and someone suggested Gitmo or Abu Grabi, service in Iraq is a good idea.
I must admit until yesterday when others started voicing what you just said I never thought in terms of politics but you are entirely right.
How the hell do they get away with this BS behavior?

Anony kind of nailed it...and well, this is just a man that is ill, he needs to do much to repent- and the idea that he should be around children and women worries me...this is not a man with a "dog" problem....but with a VIOLENCE problem...people who are cruel to animals usually are not much better to women and children...they view them as "less'"...and he was a part of the murdering of them...he has ''admitted" to eight- and we know there are more....I hope that while in prison they do a psych workup....

Bush killed animals as a child...we should know that people who thrill from this are sick...very.
dangerous....

now Jim, please please take good care of your arm...REST ...and get better...

Vick will never change as you allude to. It is something innately in his being. His father even said he loved what he was doing with the dogs as Bush does with us and the world.
You know, I am an animal lover who used to cry when I saw what those around me did to hurt them. You can't change that. Thank you for caring you have a good heart.
