Guns for Jesus! What?

Muslim anger over US military 'Jesus' scopes

FOX Guest Defends Bible Verses on Military Weapons

I am stunned that the company Trijicon was and is putting Biblical references “scripture verse” on the gun scopes and other parts they make. Then I am further amazed that ABC rushed to break the news. Again someone puts the almighty dollar ahead of country. They know what this will do and is doing in the Muslim world.

You know I have written often of my disgust with those who said we did nothing to deserve 9/11 or anything that has happened before and since. We more than asked for everything we got and we just can not stop making things worse. Remember the Berlin conference Berlin Conference of 1884-1885 to Divide Africa

India and Pakistan being ad hoc divided by Britain the forming of Israel, Bush’s failed Middle East Democratization program. We asked for everything we get and we just keep instigating at every opportunity. I just don’t get it unless we do it on purpose. Why else would we be so stupid?

Right from the beginning (9/11) all the so called terrorists ever wanted was our respect and do get off of their land. Of course the answer was to attack them instead and to issue one instigating insult after the next. Remember Salman Rushdie, who went into hiding under threat of death after an Iranian fatwa, was knighted by the Queen? The French headscarf Ban? The Danish Muhammad cartoons? The Swiss Minaret Ban?

That is a small sample and we just can't stop. Now this: Why do we always seem to purposely shoot ourselves in the foot? To cut off our nose to spite our face? What the heck is wrong with us? I can not fathom putting personal gain over doing what is right for the country but it seems all businesses can!

Anyway some of those weapons are being used by Afghan’s and Iraqi’s we are training. What the heck is wrong with us? Trijiron says as part of their faith and belief in country they have been doing it for decades. Come on! They may be extremists but on a gun used to kill Muslim’s? Muslim anger over US military 'Jesus' scopes

'Jesus Guns': Two More Countries Rethink Using Weapons with Secret Bible ...

One of the inscriptions is 2Cor4:6, that is 2nd Corinthians 4:6 of the New Testament reading “for God commanded the light to shine out of the darkness and into our hearts to give the light of the Glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” I am Christian too but on a weapon? There is verse from Revelations, Mathew, and John, about Jesus bringing light to the world.

This is not going over well even with our soldiers who think it will further anger the extremists and I have to agree! I just found out that Trijiron has agreed to discontinue adding the verses and will issue kits to sand them off if the user wants. Very good!

At least they are making the change.

I don't think it insults the Muslims, I think it insults Christianity.

I think engraved it's sick and insane, however if it was hand painted (by the individual soldier) I would look upon it as a good joke!

Jim, did you get my last 2 mails yesterday? I didn't get an answer, so i thought, they might have gotten stuck in cyber world.

I know Tom! I bet in reality it will take much longer if ever to remove them.

Hi Sarah! It does insult Christianity but the Militants will use it in their favor!

I got your e's I just did not think they needed an answer. I just got off the phone with Tom and am on with Jim right now so adios for now!

Tom is the second eldest, right? Or did I get it wrong again? How about
the youngest in Iraq?

I know the Militants will use it... they always do and it's playing right into their hands.

Re the Es... you didn't feel offended from what I said about Bavaria?
Where is heidelberg anyway? I guess, a bit higher up... we usually just drive through, on our way to France... and try and cut over to the west ASAP, since the traffic is awful...

Hi Sarah
They go Jim Bill Joe and Tom. Tom is the youngest at 21 and the one in Iraq I just talked to for an hour. Jim is the oldest and will be 29 soon. He is the one rebuilding the military's EOD school and lesson plans and upgrading their instructors.

I also just got off the phone with him and Joe the fly boy. Bill I just called and left a message as I want him here when my cousin who I have not seen in years comes tomorrow to give me my old slate bumper pool table back.

Oh yeah! I can not be offended by anything you say. You might want to Google Heidelburg it is gorgeous. I believe it is on the Rine river. Gorgeous old town and the illumination of the castle at night is a sight to see.

Further up on the river is Lorely, gorgeous! That is on top of a plateau. I remember looking way down below at the winding river with trains going in and out of tunnels. I love Germany!

Damn there it is! Go to this link and look at what you want. I remember going past the first scene and the 3rd one is what I just described.Click on that and enlarge it, it is beautiful! Loreley

Alright, I get it, but to be honest, I think, I'll be mixing them up again! I really suck, when it comes to names and Jim is the only one I never have a problem remembering and for some reason I always think Tom is the flyboy...
Anyway, how are things with him? I mean Tom! Did you get an explanation as to why there was no comm before?

Thanks for the link. yes, the pics are beautiful!
Looking at the map, mainz and places like that... didn't you think it was really scary what they did at their Carnival-celebration?!

However, I got a beautiful old folksong about Loreley on tape - by a French singer!

And heidelberg... well the first thing that comes to mind is a Joan Baez-song. remember her?
"You in the windy streets of Heidelberg..." don't remember that well what follows but the part of the song that back then really got to me was that one:
"A young German soldier lies in his bed, bandages from toe to head.
A prisoner of the camp draws neigh.
If you are Able and I am Cain,
forgive me from my bed of pain, for I know not why we die.
It is I who ordered the building burned. The job was over and as I turned - a father and his son, caught by the flames high above the ground. In cradled arms the boy looked down, one leap and their lives were done."

To me this is their history in a nutshell.

Just back from classes for the weekend. Give your "men" our best. Hope it gets over soon but I'm not holding my breath.

This post did make me think. What is your god? For some it's drugs and/or alcohol, some violence, some video games. What do you spend most of your time focused on? Makes you think doesn't it?

Hi Sarah
I love Joan Baez! I loved the constant celebrations! It was one party after the other.

Tom just said they have been busy and it was one assignment after the other but he was good with it.

I forgot about it because I have been so busy but he asked me if we heard anything about the Governor of Tikrit the other night. I have to look it up. Last week a mortar hat the shower and killed 3 women otherwise he said it has been routine and that's fine with me!

Demeur it certainly does make you think. My God is the universe. We are all one massive living being! I can go on but I will shut up!

I found this to be deeply disturbing when I first heard about it.

Unfortunately it barely scratches the surface of all the right wing evangalizing that goes on in our military. Many officers preach to their soldiers that we are in a holy war. So sad.
