I am alarmed that in the past I have heard that the Government vowed to stay out of certain areas because as far as we are led to believe it does supply a safe haven for extremists to gather and train and then head into Afghanistan to kill NATO troops and to topple the Afghan Government! We have not heard to much about this coming to fruition but now that one of the wildest areas,The Swat Valley has been turned over to Sharia Law a strict form of Islamic Law we can be very concerned. They are openly Taliban friendly! We are right to be concerned and as such there is

NATO, India, the United States, and indeed the world are very concerned with the agreement for Islamic Sharia law in the once peaceful resort area of Swat! I heard yesterday that women en masse are fleeing the area fearing for their lives. I do not blame the women but I am not convinced that we should fear the worst because it is out of our hands but sounds promising to me because the leader of the Sharia movement guaranteed peace and was in the valley for a peaceful protest with 15,000 followers. I know I am naive but for now I have hope that they will fight to keep peace in the valley for their own sake. If not we are in serious trouble!

We could add a million troops and it would only be matched by the Taliban and other insurgents. They can and will more than match us fighter to fighter and this is their home turf. I used to say if we could secure the Afghan Pakistan Border we could then concentrate on the Taliban and rebuilding Afghanistan. However, knowing the territory and seeing the map there is no way in hell that is going to happen. I thought the Mexican border was violent and it is but the Pakistan Afghanistan Border is the most violent in the world today.

I have been long convinced Bush guaranteed a loss in Afghanistan and everywhere else when he insisted on attacking Iraq so he could help Israel create a new middle east order. I am afraid this is just taking shape and both sides, the Taliban and our so called allies are still just forming the front lines and gathering forces, Both sides are still just beginning to build and This is still just beginning! Afghanistan has never been defeated but that is not even my biggest concern. We have for generations been angering Muslims and certainly in the last 8 years done everything possible to ensure an endless supply martyrs wanting to give their life to kill infidels for Allah!

one can never ever win a war abroad. Guerilla warriors will get you any time, see the Irish, see the Basques, see Vietnam, see Cambodia..This will only feed Muslim extremism because they have but to point the finger to the current invasions and say "see"? Religion is such a convenient outlet for those with no hope..

Europe should know better with their soon, in the majority population of Muslim immigrants..

Sadly Jim, those cartoons are spot on.

It's all so hosed up...and I worry that Obama will continue the disasterous practices of the last guy that sat in the Oval Office.

You are entirely right! I published a very sobering story today on a site I write on today (Border Explorer is there too.

Anyway I will post it here tomorrow! We are so being set up on the Pakistan Afghanistan Border as I said.

I found out yesterday right there in the Swat valley is where many Muslim believe the End of Days battle will take place.

In an occupation there are always more borders to cross...

If Obama decides to invade and occupy Pakistan, then next we'll have border problems with India...

It never ends. In an occupation, you are permanently on defense in a game with no clock. You can never win, so eventually, you must lose.

In the meantime, Mission Accomplished, Enron's pipeline project in Afghanistan, continues as planned.
