In Afghanistan It is time for the slow good bye or we will have another quick get riddance!

Abdullah's pullout sows new concerns for Obama in Afghanistan, now what? Abdullah as you know by now will not partake in the runoff election.I heard him tell the people not come out and vote in the fraudulent elections then ha said he would not boycott them. Isn't that one and the same? With none of Abdullah's demands for fair an open met this will or could turn into a one man race. I do not understand. If Karzai honestly believed he is the peoples choice he would insure that the election was rig proof.. Seems obvious to me but there are those who say Abdullah knows he will lose. Yeah because he knows thief election too will be a fraud.

Abdullah's decision not to run is final as he is fed up with the lack of transparency and control. He demanded that the so called officials who "surprise" are Karzai people, be fired. Of course they were not and all his requests for a fair election have been ignored so he backed out. I can't say I blame him but now what? Abdullah pullout from Afghan runoff sows new doubt over legitimacy

Human costs, dollars, the monstrous US, NATO, commitment, What are the implications? What does this mean to Afghanistan? What does it mean to Obama's decision of whether or not to add troops? Does Abdullah think about that? He has of late spoken to Britain's Gordon Brown, Hillary, Kerry and even Obama. He knows how critical a a certified election is to the future of Afghan and maybe most importantly to us and Obama.ANALYSIS - us looks to work with, and around, Karzai

Like you I believe Abdullah is right saying the runoff will be as corrupt as the first election with Karzai insisting on no real oversight and the refusal to replace the corrupt voting officials but what now? I do not know what to think about this but Hillary said the election will still be legitimate because Abdullah did not object before when the runoff was agreed to by Karzai.

Sounds to me like that is merely an excuse for legitimacy so we can move forward. Supposedly it will not affect Obama's decision but it better! Think about this: We know that some one million fraudulent votes were thrown out the first time. If true as we believe then 1 million votes would have to be fraudulent this time or the truth as to who really should have been elected would be glaring. Hmm!

The Taliban have already boycotted the elections. Abdullah said no one will get in the way of our Democracy. He said he is not boycotting the election but that is exactly what he is doing. He said no one will get in the way of our free and Democratic election but what does he call his actions? At this point both Abdullah and Karzai have negated any such thing as free and democratic elections. After he announced he will not participate in the runoff who knows what will happen next.

Abdullah: Afghanistan will survive that I am sure! My question: Yeah but in what form? Total chaos? I would be lying if I said I cared because they do not and I do not. We should get the heck out! Thanks to Bush whose lack of concern for our troops and Afghanistan displayed by abandoning them so he could attack Iraq he created in Afghanistan Obama's Vietnam. What to do now?

What we should do after the people get their central Government if that is what they want and not what Karzai wants is go home: I reiterate that Our soldiers did their job send them home. Unless their job is to create as many enemies as possible which is all they are doing in Afghanistan get them out. Getting rid of Al Qaeda and eliminating their Afghan safe haven was supposed to be the goal not building a puppet Government like in Vietnam.

Think! Do it the right way! Refocus the mission! After 8 years of mismanagement under Bush it is right that Obama take time think and listen to good advice not war mongering Republicans. Listen to Max Cleland who has learned the lessons of Vietnam the hard way. Listen to Biden! Listen to McCain, then think about it and do the right thing.

They may be now but the Taliban was not the enemy Al Qaeda was and is they attacked us not the Taliban. We keep hearing the Taliban are resurging. Who the hell cares as long as they stay in Afghanistan. THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! At least they weren't! Or is the friggen goal to see how many Muslim's we can get to fight us? Get out and Monitor them with drones.

Work on Al Qaeda around the world! Afghanistan and the Taliban as I said were not the enemy though they may be now! Karzai is using us so he can steal Afghanistan for him and his brother! We do not need a hundred years ground war unless keeping our military and a war going in Afghanistan is how they plan on saving and driving our economy! I have faith whatever he decides, Obama will do the right thing no matter how unpalatable it may be! When all is said and done it is time for the slow good bye!

Abdullah wants to see Afghanistan move forward but how do they? He was asked what Obama should do and he said we should be increasingly involved. BS! All I heard from him was a lot of gobbledygook wishy washy say nothing babbling and running around the subject. Bush did not but Obama better have learned from Vietnam in that escalating in a country whose fraudulent Government the people do not support or want. It is time for the slow good bye or we will have another quick get riddance!

Abdullah rejects power sharing and may Boycott reelection creating crisis Republicans want our troops rushed into. Think! ...

Officials say Karzai rival may choose to boycott runoff

Afghan President, Main Rival Reject Power Sharing

Republicans: Clock Is Ticking on Afghanistan Troop Decision

I ask again, this is what Republicans want us to rush into? The troops that are there will not be abandoned and until the right decision as to what to do next is decided they will take care of business! A reiteration and then my synopsis:
Combatants should not be added with the goal of hunting Al Qaeda. They, Mullah Omar, and Bin Laden are in Pakistan. Our combatants should largely be on the border after we hopefully secure some semblance of a fair election. Then I reiterate Karzai's brother is a drug lord and was found rigging ballots. Why would we think a new vote would bring new results? I just see increased violence and corruption in this battle between truth and fraud to control Afghanistan!

What we should do after the people get their central Government if that is what they want and not what Karzai wants is go home: I reiterate that Our soldiers did their job send them home. Unless their job is to create as many enemies as possible which is all they are doing in Afghanistan get them out. I have faith whatever he decides, Obama will do the right thing no matter how unpalatable it may be!

* This stupefies me! Russ Feingold and others and others in Congress are already prepared to stop Obama if he takes McChrystal's advice and goes with a troop increase. There should be a troop increase but it has to be hybridized to insure success! Success must be redefined as Any Government elected by the people with the proven ability to unify and fight for the average Afghan! We should then go home. Feingold should not fight a troop increase cart blanch. If the job can be done with the troops at hand fine.

There has to be a reeducation of Afghan defense forces and all the people. Teach them to stand up! Give them the equipment. Let them show us they want to and can do this! We can stand down and concentrate on helping Pakistan and Afghanistan on the border. If the Afghan army is ready to stand up take control and fight we can do this! However I have my doubts that they and the people want to do it!

Obama says no extra troops until Karzai proves election was credible! Q & A: Afghanistan elections, what's next?

I must admit I am stunned that Republicans are insisting the additional 40,000 troops that General McChrystal wants and now despite the fact that their is no Government in Afghanistan. Afghanistan's Electoral complaint's commission has thrown out thousands of fraudulent votes cast for Karzai! Karzai's representatives have indicated that they might not accept the ECC ruling which has sparked a flurry of diplomatic activity to avoid a protracted political crisis. Election Audit Said to Show Karzai Has 48 Percent

This will embolden the enemy but what are we going to do? Once again we are between a rock and a hard place. I am not convinced that adding thousands of more troops would do anything but get them killed because the people do not back Karzai and are indifferent to the Taliban. The IEC (independent election committee) is seen as not likely to accept the ECC findings as they are seen as corrupt and favor Karzai! Hamid Karzai 'stripped of outright win' after fraud inquiry

Abdullah Abdullah will entertain a power sharing deal with Karzai but first he has to accept Afghanistan's Electoral complaint's commission findings and he will not. We can not keep our troops in the middle of this mess to be killed for what? Afghanistan has never had a central Government and we can not enforce one especially a corrupt one the people do not want! what are the options? Q & A: Afghanistan elections, what's next?

I heard this morning that with 1/3 of Karzai's votes rejected as fraudulent he is now prepared to admit he won the election out right! What does this mean? Runoff election? Power sharing? When? Remember no accepted Government no new troops regardless of the mission! This is critical! We can not put our troops in the middle of this fraud of a Government, death, violence, corruption and volatility forever! Time to step up now! Karzai's brother is a drug lord and was found rigging ballots.

Getting rid of Al Qaeda and eliminating their Afghan safe haven was supposed to be the goal not building a puppet Government like in Vietnam. Staying in Afghanistan I understand has only brought a threat from the Taliban to attack us in the US once they get us out of Afghanistan.

The alternative to getting out now is adding more troops and staying there in the forever war Bush set up. They said we have two options making the issue black and white, right or wrong, which only highlights the politicization of the issue. Our choices are not All in or Withdraw. Making this an issue of doing it the Republican way or the Democrat way is the problem. Think! Do it the right way!

Refocus the mission! After 8 years of mismanagement under Bush it is right that Obama take time think and listen to good advice not war mongering Republicans. McChrystal is out to accomplish the wrong goal!

Obama is in a tough spot! Can we work with Karzai if he keeps the Presidential reins without legitimacy?

Another new Democracy heard from: Afghan vote watchdog orders recount, discontent simmers and Karzai poised for victory vows to crush violent protests! These election rigging charges are serious and Karzai callously dismisses them. We are watching increasing military deaths and we are hearing analogies of what is happening in Afghanistan to Lyndon Johnson. That really bothers me because of the ineptitude we will discuss shortly. We can avoid this and we better get our collective act together! Afghan vote watchdog finds fraud, orders recounts

Vote discontent simmers in Afghan north

Afghanistan: Hamid Karzai poised for election victory

I am sick! My sons and the rest of the military have put an awful lot into this and many have paid with life and limb. All we have done is trade their lives for fraud and corruption! I told you 16 days ago our soldiers deserved a legitimate election and they did not get it. Afghanistan must honor our troops and their citizens and legitimize their election!

The Taliban is watching our troops habits and movements and have learned how to kill them better and are improving every day. We should be learning from them and we should be avoiding setting patterns. I do not get it! Amidst this we have an election as corrupt as Iran's. This is what our soldiers are dying for? Karzai the false President? Election fraud? Theirs is not a Democracy! I look at Karzai and I listen to him I see nothing but contempt for America. He is accusing us of trying to unseat him. Maybe we should and are!

Amidst all this crap General McChrystal has been trying to get to the bottom of what happened when the US fighter blew up those 2 tankers and civilians were killed. Unbelievably when he first tried to get answers about the air strike the Commanders were out getting drunk! Can you believe it? I'm stunned! After what we saw with our mercenaries getting naked and drunk? Then he could not get an answer because the men he tried to question were drunk. He then banned alcohol, what? Why the hell was this not done from the get go?

This is the kind of ineptitude we have running things over there? No damn wonder things are not going well and the Taliban is only getting stronger? Rising violence there rising opposition here and they are going out and getting drunk? In Afghanistan? No wonder we are losing here and in Afghanistan. This is winning hearts and minds? This is no friggen joke!

This crap better stop now! Start being professional! We do not want Karzai to insult our troops and their valor and our own people over there are doing it. Start being professional! Honor our fighting men and women. The policy there is Clear Hold and Build not Screw it and Get Drunk! Ours is a mission in crisis amidst a corrupt election and a rising American death count and some of our key front line commanders are out getting drunk.

We will have 68,000 troops in Afghanistan by years end plus 38,000 other NATO troops. They say it is not enough. I say BS! after 8 years of listening to one of my sons off and on, on the front lines over there and watching events in Afghanistan for eight years I believe wholeheartedly that we do have enough troops if the dedication of many of our ground troops was equaled across the board.

We are facing dangers seen and unseen innate and created in Afghanistan a country a battlefield the size of Texas. Not just our troops mercenaries or not but all of NATO to the man better honor our dedicated hard working troops and start taking this as serious as it is or we will be responsible for our own defeat. WE only have about a year to turn this around I understand.

You know, when all is said and done I keep coming back to What the Hell is it Worth with stolen elections a corrupt Government and an Afghan Army that seems to not want to stand up and fight? Our troops did their job we should honor them cut our losses and get the hell out of there now.

Iran Redux as Karzai takes 100% of votes in opposition stronghold! Afghan elections have now been annulled!

Afghan Opposition Leader Charges Election Fraud

I have to wonder what is next in Afghanistan or if it even matters to us! With Both sides claiming victory in Afghanistan it is Politics as usual since Bush! Amidst reports of vote rigging and voter intimidation both Abdullah and Karzai are declaring victory. Abdullah and Karzai are both saying they have enough votes to avoid a run-off. The level of voter fraud gets more obvious and worse every day. I am disgusted not with Afghanistan but us, Bush! That scum and the example he set in 2000 and again in 2004 set the example of do what you want to manipulate the vote as long as you gat elected.

The world has learned the lesson well. These are not Democracies we are not a Democracy. Democracy like Religion thanks to Bush has become a code word to enable you to get what you want. Democracy what the hell is that? I said Bush will go down in History as the destroyer of our and he is but I am afraid the scum will succeed in crediting that to Obama too.

These close election since Bush are now routine and all around the frigging world in these so called Democracies and like here always amidst cries of coercion and fraud. Iran succeeded at least for now in stealing their election but I have to wonder what is next in Afghanistan or if it even matters to us!

Iran Redux as Karzai takes 100% of votes in opposition stronghold! Afghan elections have now been annulled! What is next now! I was really amazed to see that almost 500 polling stations had their results of the vote annulled. I shouldn't have been after the thousands of counts of fraud and intimidation. What Karzai's brother did was the final straw and I invite you to read it. All I can wonder is what is next for us and does it really matter in the end!?

Karzai takes 100% of votes in opposition stronghold

Afghan election officials defend vote-counting Yhep they are so good they have now been annulled more than 500 polling stations!

Afghan election results have been anulled

Counting Ballots and Bombs in Afghanistan! More success American style!

Afghan Election Too Close to Call

41 Dead in Afghan Blast Caused by Vehicle Bombs

Once again a story was growing as I researched it so I am again going to include some important links and a couple videos as they tell a complete story. You can read the ones you are interested in and I will summarize at the end. Between Bullets Bombs Ballots and military and civilian casualties the story is changing too rapidly. I wanted to include a story of a shoot out at a health clinic where a Taliban leader was being treated and after 12 were killed he was captured but too much is happening.

Karzai widens lead in Afghan vote count

Second blast strikes Kandahar

US says Afghan attack won't stop progress

US general aims for Afghan hearts in anti-Taliban fight Winning hearts and minds with bullets and bombs?

August tied for deadliest month in Afghanistan

So far NATO has had 44 troops killed this month in Afghanistan equaling last month the worst in 8 years. I am sorry to say as you already know but August is on track to be the worst month yet in this Deadly game of Bullets Bombs and Ballots. Afghanistan is heating up! Does the increase of troop deaths reflect a result of our troop increase of which even more look likely? Or is it due to an increase of Taliban activity in which Pakistan's Taliban promises increasing support? Both as you know!

This is coming amidst growing finger pointing on the election and its fraud by both leaders Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah. Abdullah keeps showing videos pointing out the fraud. I have heard of 300 allegations so far but Karzai is the President and you can be sure nothing will come of it. At this point I am sure the Taliban want Karzai to win so they can grow their Opium and continue to be unscathed by Karzai where Abdullah Abdullah is a more serious threat to them.

I in closing we are in serious trouble unless we get out right now and cut our losses. The longer we stay the more I see another Saigon! I know that won't happen nor can it happen. I firmly believe that President Obama will continue to get the money he wants and he will be okay as long as he keeps these two wars going. If he pulls out he will be killed. He will suffer the same fate as JFK, RFK, and MLK,and once again the truth will never be found. I am afraid I face the future with growing apprehension!

Afghanistan must honor our troops and their citizens and legitimize their election!

Afghanistan's presidential rivals claim victory

With Both sides claiming victory in Afghanistan it is Politics as usual since Bush! Amidst reports of vote rigging and voter intimidation both Abdullah and Karzai are declaring victory. Abdullah and Karzai are both saying they have enough votes to avoid a runoff. First, the brave citizens who defied the Taliban's threats and violence should be commended for wanting their leader and Democracy enough to come out and vote.

At least in disrupting and preventing the election the Taliban has failed. However if both sides declare victory it will delegitimize our efforts over there more importantly all our men and women over there for all our NATO forces. I have to hope the two front runners President Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah honor their Brave citizens and America's considerable effort and keep this election process honorable though I admit that would be too much to ask in our own sad Political state.

This is another test for Afghanistan's young Democracy. One man who came out of the poll with his young son after voting said we have only one life at the end of the day as in Iran Women came out in large numbers and carried the day Despite Taliban intimidation and violence. After just 3 polling stations were counted both sides see things in their favor but real results should start trickling in by August 25th with final results due around September 5th.

I did hear that one person with a voting card admitted that he was only 13 years old. I can only hope voting fraud in whatever shape was not wide spread and whoever wins the election it is legitimized and they can quell the violence as Abdullah and his supporters are confident he can do and we can get the heck out of there as soon as possible.

Our multiple millions spent on our efforts in Afghanistan are not my only concern but it might be with our $12 trillion in Debt and our rapid slide towards bankruptcy.
Karzai, Abdullah teams claim wins in Afghan vote

Kabul under attack! This is the only safe city in Afghanistan?

Taliban code of conduct

NATO convoy attacked outside Kabul 7 civilians killed many wounded. It is a good thing the Taliban puts civilian safety first. Remember Mullah Omar's code of conduct! Taliban issues code of conduct that tells fighters to limit suicide attacks and avoid civilian deaths Good thing huh?

Multiple rockets fired in Kabul dead and dying everywhere Good thing those civilians matter!

violence will get worse as promised by head of UN commission Despite the uptick in violence and the stifling heat people by the thousands still risk life and limb to listen to popular Presidential rival Abdullah Abdullah.

Taliban publicly execute woman

Kabul under attack Everything important is being hit, Presidential Palace, Government headquarters, police headquarters, supply lines. Good thing Kabul is the only secure city in Afghanistan. Yeah right! What do you think about those upcoming elections and the security of the people now?
