Oakland Approves marijuana farming and Four Marijuana Factories: Make it country wide!
Jim You get No argument from me on this. It's a win win for all except the drug trade. The laws are archaic. Once again The many Religious zealots that have influenced this Country far to long, are opposed to legalizing it. It will take strong leadership to get it done. Oh yeah, never mind...
Yeah Tim we can forget about strong leadership other than activists. Once the rest of the country see Ca benefiting from the farming and factories in any more respects than just the significant taxed you will see other states coming on board!
All of this just because of Harry Anslinger. How many people realize that the first law written within the borders of what we call the United States was a 1619 order for every member of Jamestown to grow marijuana. Watch the documentary "The Union - The Business Behind Getting High". It is one of the best documentaries on the subject ever made. You can see it in its entirety on Google Video.
pardon the pun wease but it's growing. I was impressed with Colorado's plans. They figure they can put more people to work legalizing it than starbucks!
Unfortunately nothing is going to change until the federal laws are changed. Once a more conservative political shift happens you'll see a crack down on medical marijuana shops. As for immigration all the troops in the world aren't going to stop this when people are starving on the other side of the border. If we want to nation build Mexico would be a far better place to start.
Demeur, good to see you too. I'm not really back. I just got sick of politics. As for marijuana, I've actually seen a lot of movement from the Right to legalize pot. Hell, even Glenn "I'm an idiot" Beck advocates the legalization. It's not politicians that will be in the way of this, it's the Religious Right and Left.
California has already paved the way to blocking Federal Jurisdiction in the case of Marijuana. There is a lot a state can do in local non-cooperation to make it difficult for Federal Authorities to engage in a crackdown.
If the Federal Government starts interfering with a State's Revenue Stream, you can expect an exciting pissing match to ensue.

Hi Robert! Wow I didn't know that, now I'll educate myself and thanks for the video
I'm really surprised that so few states are looking into legalization.
As the crisis deepens, I'm sure this idea will spread.

Glad to see you back Robert.
