The federal government is ready to let farmers grow cannabis

Hemp Growing Going Legit After Decades-Long Ban:The federal government is ready to let farmers grow cannabis

Hemp Growing Going Legit After Decades-Long Ban:The federal government is ready to let farmers grow cannabis — at least the kind that can't get people high.Hemp — marijuana's non-intoxicating cousin that's used to make everything from clothing to cooking oil — could soon be cultivated in 10 states under a federal farm bill agreement that allows the establishment of pilot growing programs.

Hemp can save America: We make Hemp products but must import the Hemp, Legalize it again!

His information we all know is true. This is awesome please give it a quick read. Hemp the most versatile "natural" product in the world.

The Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2013, introduced in the House on February 6 by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), would end that. “Industrial hemp is a sustainable crop and could be a great economic opportunity for Kentucky farmers,” Massie said in a statement announcing the bill. “Tobacco is no longer a viable crop for many of us in Kentucky and we understand how hard it is for a family farm to turn a profit. Industrial hemp will give small farmers another opportunity to succeed.”

It's a Safe Health-Food Wonder, Agricultural Dream and Economic Jackpot: Hemp

The Declaration of Independence was written on hemp, our ships had hemp sails, and pioneers' covered wagons were covered in -- what else? -- hemp. David Bronner was recently arrested for attempting to eat a healthy breakfast.

Does that sound stupid? Even once you know the details, it should sound stupid: Bronner's food of choice was bread spread with hemp seed oil he pressed himself from industrial hemp plants, which he did in front of the White House under a banner reading: “Dear Mr. President Let U.S. Farmers Grow Hemp." Bronner's company, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps, spends over $100,000 to buy over 20 tons of hemp seed oil from Canada each year to use in its soaps. Bronner wants to give that money to American farmers instead.
He is 100% right!

There were several other “must grow” laws over the next 200 years (you could be jailed for not growing hemp during times of shortage in Virginia between 1763 and 1767), and during most of that time, hemp was legal tender (you could even pay your taxes with hemp — try that today!) Hemp was such a critical crop for a number of purposes (including essential war requirements – rope, etc.) that the government went out of its way to encourage growth.

The United States Census of 1850 counted 8,327 hemp “plantations” (minimum 2,000-acre farm) growing cannabis hemp for cloth, canvas and even the cordage used for baling cotton.

How many people realized that the first law written within the borders of what we call the United States was a 1619 order for every member of Jamestown to grow marijuana. Watch the documentary "The Union - The Business Behind Getting High". It is one of the best documentaries on the subject ever made.

The first 2 copies of the Declaration of Independence were printed on Hemp! Benjamin Franklin used Hemp to start Americas first paper mills. It was once legal and one of the largest crops in the world. The majority of fabrics, lighting oil, medicines, paper, and fiber. Hemp was touted as a billion dollar crop in the 19th century and its unparalleled universality made it a target of other sources. It produced more than 5000 products from its thread and 25000 from its cellulose including dynamite and cellophane.

They made it illegal because it was the most widely used product in the world and would interfere with other products and diversity. WW2 brought the necessity that it be legalized ounce again as there was so much of it , its wide use, and its abundance. WW2 ended and once again it was made illegal to protect other industries and interests.

Think about it! We can really use this phenomenal product, think about it!

The number one abused drug in the world is legal, Alcohol! It destroys numerous lives! What sane argument is there against legalizing Hemp? None, none whatsoever!

Bronner is right! You can not get high from Hemp no matter how much you smoke or eat. Some day common sense should be forced to prevail at least in this one case. Looking at hemp's versatility and the thousands and thousands of products it can be used in you can only come to the conclusion that it was lumped in with marijuana to keep it from competing with more volatile inefficient products. That is especially true today with people looking for natural products. Legalize Hemp!

Industrial Hemp could take over American industry if we had enough seeds

Ben Holmes examines the hemp leaves on his plants. He says the plants get to be 20 feet tall.     Industrial Hemp Could Take Root, If Legal Seeds Weren't So Scarce: Hemp is the same species as marijuana, but a different variety — one that lacks THC, the compound that gives users a high when smoked or ingested. Hemp seeds are increasingly showing up in foods, and Denny says the plant's fibers can be turned into everything from clothing to rope to car interiors.

"The crop right now is sellable," he says. "I've already had people contact me on my website saying, 'We know you're growing stuff and we want to buy it from you already.' And we haven't even put it in the ground." During World War II, the U.S. was so hard up for hemp for use in rope on naval ships and on trooper's parachutes that the Department of Agriculture actually made a promotional film to encourage farmers to grow it. The film's title: Hemp For Victory.

Government supplied medical marijuana

The Hypocrisy! Did you know that for more than 30 years the US had been growing and distributing Marijuana?

4 Americans got pot from U.S. government: Sometime after midnight on a moonlit rural Oregon highway, a state trooper checking a car he had just pulled over found less than an ounce of pot on one passenger: A chatty 72-year-old woman blind in one eye. She insisted the weed was legal and was approved by the U.S. government. The trooper and his supervisor were doubtful. But after a series of calls to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Drug Enforcement Agency and her physician, the troopers handed her back the card — and her pot. For the past three decades, Uncle Sam has been providing a handful of patients with some of the highest grade marijuana around.

Who Are the Patients that Received Medical Marijuana through the ...

This is really hypocritical and outrageous especially with what is happening on the Mexican Border and with the fact that some one million people are arrested in the US every year for possession. WTF? Am I the only one that did not know the Government was growing and distributing marijuana to a select few while telling everyone else that could benefit from it to suffer. This is insane! Are they purposely doing this to feed their economy and agenda? In light of what has been happening on the Border and around the country I think it is time to take the Government to task on this!

The program was started 5/10/78 after President Jimmy Carterz was forced by the courts to supply marijuana to a Glaucoma patient. What amazes me is that it only took the Government 6 days to send him his first shipment of 10 ounces of pre rolled marijuana cigarettes in a canister, that was some fast growing stuff. The Governments official line is that in one regard or the other marijuana poisons you even if their excuse is that it is a gateway drug leading to harder stuff.

Well, the list of patients the Government was poisoning grew to 34 before Daddy Bush shut the program down in in 1992. Those that were already enrolled in the program were allowed to continue until they died. Gee what a surprise, the Government controlled 34 users for now thirty two years with no negative side affects and they never mention that. There are still 4 of the original 34 left alive receiving 10 ounces of Government grown marijuana pre rolled in a canister every month. The rest of the MS, cancer, glaucoma, and myriad of other patients that may benefit from marijuana are merely left to suffer and or die. Why? Meanwhile while the Fed continues to supply the surviving 4 patients with marijuana they continue to raid legal growers of medicinal marijuana in California. The hypocrisy, why?

30 years of medical marijuana and Federal Hypocrisy

marijuana activist gets her supply from the Government

We know they do not but you want to say don't they ever think? They are purposely feeding the violence on the border they are supposedly very concerned about? If you buy marijuana in the US you are fueling the cartel drug wars in Mexico. Are they doing this on purpose? Juarez, New Mexico on the Border with El Paso, Texas is a battle zone. It is the hot spot in the cartel's more, violent than ever and widening fight for smuggling routes. The drug cartels and those officers and military not bought off by the cartels are in a full blown war

Of course there are big fears of our drug war that spilled South to Mexico now spilling back to our side of the Border as violence. The violence is only there and fed by our insatiable hunger for marijuana and other drugs. We can end this! We can control the border as we still are not and put our military on the border. That is where they should be not on 733 US bases around the world.

* I was stupefied, stunned, amazed, to find out the Government for more than thirty years has been growing, supplying, and distributing marijuana to a few whose life they know they are changing for the good maybe even saving while leaving the rest of the users that may benefit to their own demise! The unnecessary money spent, arrests, violence, murders, mayhem, here and in Mexico is asinine. It is all for naught. If not why? This is all hypocrisy! It makes no sense. The Government unbeknown to me already has more than 30 years of experience growing and distributing marijuana. Legalize itnation wide! Open their own proven program up for the good of the country!

1619 order for every member of Jamestown to grow marijuana. Watch the documentary

                                                    Hemp 101

How many people realize that the first law written within the borders of what we call the United States was a 1619 order for every member of Jamestown to grow marijuana. Watch the documentary "The Union - The Business Behind Getting High". It is one of the best documentaries on the subject ever made. You can see it in its entirety here

It produced more than 5000 products from its thread and 25000 from its cellulose including dinamite and cellophane.

They made it illegal because it was the most widely used product in the world and would interfere with other products and diversity. WW2 brought the necessity that it be legalized ounce again as there was so much of it , its wide use, and its abundance. WW2 ended and once again it was made illegal to protect other industries and interests.

Even though illegal according to official Government figures The value of the annual harvest exceeds that of corn, soybeans, or hay, the country's top three legal cash crops with an annual crop value of $35 Billion. There have been an estimated 100 million pot plants destroyed between 1981 and 2006 yet production has still increased 10 fold to 22 million pounds! Marijuana is the countries number one cash crop

While California, Tennessee, Kentucky, Hawaii, and Washington are the top producing states, pot is the top cash crop in 12 states and among the top three in 30 states. "There is a lot of demand for marijuana in the US, and it's only natural that production would increase here,"Marijuana is the countries number one cash crop, legalize it nation wide and collect the much needed taxes.

Legalize marijuana countrywide, secure the border! Just imagine what it would be if it was legalized. Regulate it like alcohol, sell it in package stores! Tax it! Look at the potential revenue. Legalizing marijuana would end a hell of a lot of problems and create exactly zero! Think about it! We can really use this phenomenal product, think about it!

The number one abused drug in the world is legal, Alcohol! It destroys numerous lives! What sane argument is there against legalization? None, none whatsoever! All we are doing with this insane war on drugs is driving people and not just kids to experiment and find a legal way to get high with common household products. We are only making the problem exponentially worse. END IT! LEGALIZE! All States!

US House approves new medical marijuana legislation, federal Government shifting policies

US House approves new medical marijuana legislation: Nearly half the 50 US states have legalised medical marijuana, including for use by cancer patients. But in recent years, federal agents are said to have raided dispensaries in states where marijuana is legal, seizing drugs and cash. "Federal tax dollars will no longer be wasted arresting seriously ill medical marijuana patients and those who provide to them," Dan Riffle, director of federal policies for the Marijuana Policy Project, wrote in a statement.

He called the House vote on Friday "historic". "It's yet another sign that our federal government is shifting toward a more sensible marijuana policy," he added. US President Barack Obama recently described marijuana as no more dangerous than alcohol, and instructed the justice department to halt prosecutions of banks that do business with cannabis firms.

Marijuana is good for a lot more than medicine, this is awesome please give it a quick read.

As Colo. legalizes pot, Obama vouches cooperation and the rest of the country hopes: It is time

Kill the growing drug violence on the Mexico US border, change the US forever, think about it! Legalize marijuana at least then follow with the rest, maybe! That would kill much of the incentive for Cartels to be waging a war on drugs and save us Billions and free up millions of wasted man hours. Yes there is cocaine heroine and other drugs but marijuana is America's number one cash crop too! That blew me away.

According to official Government figures The value of the annual harvest exceeds that of corn, soybeans, or hay, the country's top three legal cash crops with an annual crop value of $35 Billion. There have been an estimated 100 million pot plants destroyed between 1981 and 2006 yet production has still increased 10 fold to 22 million pounds! Marijuana is the countries number one cash crop Yes it is time to legalize and put this wasted war against pot behind us.

"This is a monumental step forward," Dale Gieringer, an Oakland resident and marijuana activist said. The measure, which pitted small and midsized "gardeners" against larger producers, initially allows the large farms to sell only to medical marijuana dispensaries Gettman told Drug War Chronicle. California is right to legalize it and capture the tax dollars. I just love it, imagine this country wide. This could reinvent America!

With our 100 year drug war and guns being purchased here and sent to Mexico then drugs being sent here feeding this drug war. This has not spilled over from Mexico it has spilled over from the US. I reiterate: eastern California, southern Arizona and New Mexico are clamping down and National Guard troops are being requested!

We keep hearing that Mexico's war on drugs is spilling over into the US. We have been fighting a self professed war on Drugs for one hundred years! I wish someone would be able to figure out at what cost. It seems to me that the drug war has spilled over the Border with Mexico. However it went north to south. It is our drug war that has spilled into Mexico. It is us that have made Mexico the narco State it is.

I do believe we should at least put American military on the border and do not really understand why it is not. That would go a long way in stopping the problem so I do not understand why they are not on the Border unless it is because a certain political interest still does not want the border secured to enable illegal immigration? Why else? A desire to keep this war going? For gain? of what?

I do believe we can end this! Put our National Guard on the Border in shifts! After I got out of the military I joined the reserves. I do not know how it works today because our troops are flat out. Besides one week end a month we use to be required to do 2 weeks as a unit somewhere to train. With 50 States they could all do their required 2 weeks on the border doing one thing or the other. The other half of the equation:

Legalize marijuana, follow California's example, secure the border! Just imagine what it would be if it was legalized. Regulate it like alcohol, sell it in package stores! Tax it! Look at the potential revenue. Legalizing marijuana would end a hell of a lot of problems and create exactly zero! Think about it!

The number one abused drug in the world is legal, Alcohol! It destroys numerous lives! What sane argument is there against legalization? None, none whatsoever! Ex Mexico President backs U.S. efforts to tear down the "Berlin Wall" of pot criminalization.

Former Mexican president Vicente Fox

Mexico's ex-president backs US pot drive: Fox, Mexico's leader from 200-2006, appeared at a Seattle press conference where businessman Jamen Shively said the US states of Washington and Colorado are spearheading a move to tear down the "Berlin Wall" of pot criminalization.

"In Mexico we welcome this initiative, because the cost of the war in the case of Mexico is becoming unbearable," said Fox, referring to deadly drug violence which has ravaged America's southern neighbor. The cost was "too high for Mexico, Latin America, and the rest of the world - the impact on the economy, on income, on tourism, investment but also talent .. and 80,000 kids' death in the last six years," he said.

Legalize it? Lawmakers push for end to federal marijuana restrictions:

For gain? of what?

Just imagine what it would be if it was legalized. Regulate it like alcohol, sell it in package stores! Tax it! Look at the potential revenue. Legalizing marijuana would end a hell of a lot of problems and create exactly zero! Think about it!

The number one abused drug in the world is legal, Alcohol! It destroys numerous lives! What sane argument is there against legalization? None, none whatsoever! All we are doing with this insane war on drugs is driving people and not just kids to experiment and find a legal way to get high with common household products. We are only making the problem exponentially worse. END IT! LEGALIZE! All States!

* It would not solve our problems immediately but it would go a hell of a long way. It would also exponentially add to our economy as we allow implementation of the myriad of products that can be made from cannabis.
Mexico would still have a problem as Mexican's try to under cut us but eventually as in cigarettes and alcohol we will carve out our superior niche. My concern is with corporate America and Wall Street taking the industry over.
