I took it as a personal insult that al-Megrahi was released on grounds of compassion, We were right!

Pan Am Bomber Could Live Another 10 or 20 Years

In August we had a great discussion on the BS release and everyone felt as I do. Now I am insulted but we were right! Now I am hearing Libya bought off Doctor Karol Sikora who knowingly and blatantly lied saying Megrahi only had a couple months to live What a frigging lie! I will recount it after I recite our justified disgust!

Scotland Orders Release of Lockerbie Bomber

Reactions to release of al-Megrahi

So what he has cancer and is going to die! Let him stay in [prison and die as the coward he is. He murdered 270 innocent civilians. It is not right to let him go back to Libya to die free and a hero! Former Libyan intelligence agent Abdel Basset al-Megrahi was released on grounds of compassion. BS! Show some compassion for those he murder and those he left to suffer for the rest of their lives.

If you want to show compassion leave him in Prison where he will get better medical care than he will in Libya. He will be treated in many parts of the world as a hero for what he did and releasing him is an insult to all free mankind! 189 of the 270 were American and I refuse to believe we took a back seat to Scotland. This friggen release is an insult and was done to gain favor for Britain and Scotland along with more oil. In the long run this too will backfire!

I am deeply insulted with Megrahi's release! It is inappropriate and dead wrong that this was done at the Judges discretion and on one in the entire world can question this. This is another travesty! Former Libyan intelligence agent Abdel Basset al-Megrahi as you know was in Mohamar Qaddafi' secret service and worked directly for him. Qaddafi ordered the bombing that downed Pan Am flight 103 killing 270 innocent civilians.

I am disgusted we have allowed this mass murderer a known terrorist to go free, to go home to a heroes welcome. This is reprehensible! Terrorist freedom swapped for oil WTF? I do not care about our so called improved relations with Libya. Right is right and wrong is wrong and this is friggen wrong. Improved relations should include present and future not the past! This is insulting to the families and all of us. We are showing our weakness and reliance on Muslim oil. Have we no morals?

Megrahi's release was purely to further the interests of Britain and Scotland in the Muslim world. I am sick, this is more grovelling! It is an insult to all of us to set Megrahi the only person convicted in the bombing free. This absolutely is a victory for Islamists. I hope to God we are smart rnough to have his every move monitored and learn who contacts him including Qaddafi. How many people do we have to feed these animals?

I can't believe I am saying this but now is the first time I want to hear what Cheney has to say about something. The Minister of Scotland who has long wanted Megrahi released has insulted the entire world. Megrahi is terminally ill so what? This is purely Political so Brits and Scots can get more Libyan oil. 1/3 of all request for release from prison in Scotland for compassionate release from prison is denied. I am sick to my stomach that he was released using the excuse that he was dying to cover the real reason of swapping a terrorist for oil. This will screw us all with the Islamists! What the hell is wrong with us?

Now a report in the Sunday Times said Libyan authorities, keen to secure Megrahi’s release, asked several experts to put a three-month estimate on the bomber’s life but Professor Sikora was the only one to agree. Professor Sikora, the dean of medicine at Buckingham University and medical director of CancerPartnersUK in London, was paid for his medical assessment of Megrahi at Greenock prison on July last year. He told the newspaper: “There was always a chance he could live for 10 years, 20 years.

Send dear Doctor Professor Sikora to Libya to tend to Megrahi until one of them dies. Hell I hear Megrahi is living in a luxury villa with his family. Condemning the lying Doctor to living with Megrahi would be a favor. Hell we can't win for losing!

Unfortunately there was corruption on both sides of this case. The evidence against Megrahi was very thin and some of it was from paid informants. Paid by the FBI to the tune of $100K if memory serves correct. And we saw how people operate when the U.S. military was paying people for information about "enemy combatants" in Afghanistan. A 93 year old man and a 13 year old boy were sent to Gitmo then later released. That background info never seems to make it to the MSM.

Demeuer I remember that about Gitmo, funny but you hear nothing about it anymore.

Now I hear he was released because BP made a deal to drill off Libya which happened a month later. I just want to scream!

Thanks for publishing this. I blogged vehemently on U.K. sites when this happened. I may go looking for them tonight!

Hi Vig! Yeah we were really suckered. Now they are saying BP was in on it because they wanted to drill off Libya which happened right after. It really sickens me. We live such a frigging lie and we do not matter!

This is truly an injustice.

However it is far less so than the injustice of war criminals Bush and Cheney walking free and unaccountable for the slaughter they wrought.

Hundreds of thousands are dead and the Big Dick is still free to accuse Obama of aiding and abetting the enemy.

Dave you know I believe a hanging would be too good for both Cheney and Bush. They deserve a mussolini at the least but what happened with Megrahi is despicable and now I am hearing BP was in on it too and they start drilling in Libyan waters soon. I just can't believe any of this crap today!

Bush, Cheney, BP... all and all the villians of the same Oil-ocracy.

You Americans are unbelievable. The crimes committed by various US administrations in order to secure the oil you are so clearly addicted to are too numerous to mention but include installing dictators and starting illegal wars. How dare you criticise anyone making deals for oil.

WhiteRose72: we can say what we really feel BECAUSE we are Americans. We also have the right to thrown out politicians that don't represent the views of the majority in elections. Don't judge all Americans by the words or actions of some short-sighted people. A lot of Americans try to live a sustainable life. A lot of Americans aren't arrogant. And a lot of us want peace in the world. Obviously, whereever you live there aren't any arrogant, self-centered, greedy, violent people...right? Oh, and where exactly is that, by the way?

Vicki, where did I suggest that there are no arrogant, self-centered, greedy, violent people where I live? I merely pointed out that the current vitriol being aimed at BP by Americans is astounding given what your countrymen have done to secure oil flows. For example, installing Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Yes BP have behaved badly and are paying and will continue to pay the price for their arrogance. But what is it you Christians say? "first take the plank out of your own eye..."

RedRose72, I find you quite preachy, something there is a bit too much of in this world regardless of your national origin. Further, you make too many assumptions. I am not a Christian...I am a Buddhist. It's my belief that condemnation of a whole people, religion, nation, or race based on the actions of individuals (or by their leaders or corporations)is wrong.

Vicki, I apologise for assuming you are Christian but in my defence so many Americans are, and oh so preachy about it too. And I couldn't agree with you more about condemning groups on the basis of the actions of individuals however similar nationwide generalisations have been levelled at Scots over the release of Megrahi by a small number of politicians.
