Like many of you I have a habit of paying attention when something happens in "our great allies" country, Pakistan. I was very concerned when Pakistan declared a safe zone in certain areas of Pakistan Primarily because one of my sons was on the Afghanistan border. He is home for now but I am getting increasingly concerned about what is happening in Pakistan because I see that it is about to really affect us.
Knowing the very shady history of Pakistan's involvement with 9/11, later Tora Bora, and terrorism proliferation and what is happening today in the madrassas and a call for Jihad against Musharaff, I remembered it is getting worse but we had this discussion almost a year ago on 9/23. Under the title, 9/11 Press For Truth: Very Best accurate movie exposing 9/11 cover up! http://anaverageamericanpatriot.blogspot.com/2006/09/911-press-for-truth-very-best-accurate.html
We knew how important Pakistan was in keeping Afghanistan supplied with fighters when they were fighting the Russians. We knew for whatever reason that it would be impossible to tame that area. Bush is threatening so called Islamists on every front possible as he tries to prosecute his new order.
Amidst calls for a Jihad against Musharaff,s Government by Al-Zawahiri we have Musharaff laughingly saying he will clean up the Madrassas and the extremists. President Pervez Musharaff vowed to wipe out extremism from Pakistan, saying in a defiant address to the nation that the raid on Islamabad's Red Mosque was necessary to save the country. That was done for Bush and it will only serve to bring about the same conditions his intervention in Iraq has brought to Iraqi's and soon the entire middle east.
Military ruler Musharaff, still being called a key ally in the US-led "war on terror," also said he would beef up security forces along the border with Afghanistan, where Taliban militants are active, giving the troops extra tanks and guns. The televised address came amid fears of a possible Islamist backlash following the raid on the mosque this week that killed 11 soldiers and 75 people inside the complex, mainly militants.

Knowing Bush believes Ayman Al-Zawahiri and Bush are both in Pakistan and that at least Congress is getting frustrated at not having captured Bin Laden and ridiculously they doubled his and Al-Zawarihi's bounty to $50 million. I first have to laugh! They know that money means nothing to those people, only bringing us down and nothing is going to change that. Also I wouldn't doubt if Bush knows where they are and is waiting to use his "capture" at the end of his election.
Also Taliban military commander Mansour Dadullah, in an interview broadcast on ABC News' "World News With Charles Gibson," said the London attacks were "not enough" and that bigger attacks were coming. "You will, God willing, be witness to more attacks," he told a Pakistani journalist in an interview conducted just four days ago.
Just last month, Dadullah presided over what was termed a terror training camp graduation ceremony in Pakistan, supposedly dispatching attack teams to the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Germany. In this new interview, Dadullah talked about the ease with which he and his men operate inside Pakistan. "We have many friends," he said. "It is very easy for us to go in and out of the tribal areas. It is no problem." Of course Pakistan continues to deny they have safe haven as you can be sure they do.

Knowing the situation in Pakistan is getting more tenuous and that terrorists do have safe haven there I am getting increasingly concerned that Bush will, forced or not, openly send our military in there and worsen things all around. No way you say! Then I remembered we have had his warning before that he indeed would.
We had this discussion too last September. It was titled Bush threatened to bomb Pakistan after 9/11 would send troops in if he knew where Bin Laden was? He will get us in deeper somehow! http://anaverageamericanpatriot.blogspot.com/2006/09/bush-threatened-to-bomb-pakistan-after.html
Bush has vowed to follow terrorists wherever he deems necessary and has proven a propensity to do so even if he has to create the situation. I am increasingly concerned that Pakistan will soon become yet another front in the so called war on terror for us. I thought Iran would be his next misstep but what do you think about that?

hey, AP--
I certainly think he would if he could attack Pakistan, Syria, Iran, and any other Islamic country using their religion as the pretext-- claiming that it proves they're terrorists. and, who knows, they may even BE backing/funding terrorist actions.
the only thing that gives me hope is--where are the troops supposed to come from? people are staying out of the military in droves. the ones who are ending their enlistments are not reenlisting. and he doesn't have time to set up a draft unless he declares himself dictator for life-- which _could_ happen, but as I said on another of your posts, I'm starting to think that may not happen simply because he's getting tired of being president.
I'm hoping, anyhow, that the patterns he's lived all his life will catch up with us and he'll fizzle out soon.
Patriot, Bush certainly wants to escalate because he derives power from perpetual war and keeping the people fearful........but I think his plan was essentially to topple the governments of iran and Iraq so him and his cronnies could control all that oil and natural gas and make fortunes developing it and buying it on the cheap...........Pakistan doesnt have enomous oil and natural gas reserves.
Bush has shown he doesnt really care about fighting terrorists,,,,,,,,,,,,so I dont think he would intend to attack Pakistan unless he is using that as an excuse to escalate so he can egg the terrorists on to attack us then declare martial law to seize and REMAIN in power.......that I wouldnt put past him a bit.....him and Cheney are cut from the same cloth as Hitler.......that is obvious!

He is only the cheerleader the Neo Cons trot out to sell their Agenda Two Crows.......If it was only THAt dunce he would have fizzled out LONG ago but Rove and Cheney and their cabal of cronnies are pulling the strings.......they are a faction that has been plotting and scheming for ultmate power Since Nixon was toppled from his throne and we thought the age of imperial presidencies was ended.
I fear they will NEVER relinquish power.
As for your question of where an army will come from........consider this after declaring martial law and seizing absolute power instead of putting his enemies and the poor to death in ovens, gas chambers and concentration camps.........THIS dictator will give them the choice of fighting his wars for world domination or being put to death.........THAT is how he will raise his armies.
Bush and Cheney have NO regard for human life, the 200 million that are of no use to him will serve as cannon fodder for his wars or be put to death.
In the 21st Century he who controls the Energy is the world power and Bush/Cheney and their cabal of Neo Cons lust for power and domination over others......its the air they breathe!

AP--
a couple of things:
1st-- these days Bush has to walk a fine line: on the one hand he has to convince us we are in dire peril if we don't blindly follow him because al qaida is coming to get us if we don't watch out.
and, on the other hand, he has to convince us that we have to blindly follow him because his splurge is working and he's got al qaida on the run.
poor li'l dubbya -- it must be SO hard convincing us he can have it both ways!

and 2nd--
I've long been concerned about his declaring martial law and calling off the elections next year 'for security reasons'. I wonder what congress will do THEN. oh, that's right, he will've dissolved it by then.
I've studied the 3rd Reich extensively [almost did my dissertation on it] and I know how insidiously the Nazi's went about their business while the people said, 'Hitler's an imbecile. He's no threat.' and felt safe and smug within their republic. and look where that got them.
so, I'm under no delusions about whether that could happen here. and it terrifies me."
It terrifies me as well, I studied Hitlers rise to power as well and Bush and the Neo Cons have used chillingly similar tactics to seize and cement their power.
From giving The masses a common enemy to hate and fear, a war/patriotic cause to rally around, changing the laws to give themselves more and more power, install blindly loyal partisan cronnies in all facets of government, dismantle freedoms and liberties in the name and guise of safety, taking over and controlling the media and using it to brainwash and hypnotize the masses and discredit political opposition and powerful opponents, and to repeat lies and propaganda over and over till it is believed as truth and deemed credible............not to mention a key event to justify all the changes and fear mongering and war mongering...........We had 9/11, the Germans had the Reichstag Fire the results were essentially the same giving radical factions a blank check to do as they please.
Lastly it is PRECISELY when something is deemed "not a threat" that it is the GREATEST threat, whether it is a political coup via declaring martial law, a financial meltdown/Great Depression or a Hurricaine/Natural disaster.
Bush and the Neo Cons are a grave threat that I fear the slumbering masses and their Children and grandchildren who discount it and ignore it may live to regret with every fiber of their being.............if Bush remains in power past 2009 or declartes martial law of country will likely fall so low that it will likely NEVER recover and that is if there isnt a world war or holocaust that kills hundreds of millions across the world fighting his oil wars for world domination.
If you studied the 3rd Reich you know the signs...........anyone who knows the signs we are seeing today would be terrified our Democracy is being hijascked and transformed before our eyes to a fascist police state Run by a tyranical dictator obsessed with power
Hey two crows
Sadly to Bush anyone that is against him is his enemy including you and I. I have been monitored numerous times but I will not delve into it here.
As for where the troops are going to come from! Remember Rummy the Dummies stupid statement that you go to war with the army you have not the army you want. even if you start the war, what! They will attack and worry about the troops later.
They are already enlarging the military, recruiting mercenaries overseas whith a promise of citizenship, plus the selective service system has been updated and tested in order to be put on line in a moments notice. Not to speak of the fact that they can now recruit Grandparents, under educated, and convicts.
You can count on Bush to do the wrong thing and get us in over our heads thinking our technology and Navy will win the day. He is way wrong once again.
Mike
You know you are right. All along, going after Iran and furthering his midle east (dis)order was his only goal. Unseating Saddam was his excuse to get American boots in the middle east to do so and he will not leave for anything.
Fighting terrorism is merely his excuse to stay there to further his wars. As you know, I thought Iran was his next target and this fall but with recent developments in Pakistan, anything like another attack on us that can be said to have resulted from Pakistan will give the chief idiot to go into Pakistan as he said he would.
It's funny you mention Martial Law. You know I fully erxpect him to declare martial law and cancel 2008 elections if he has to in order to follow his and his handlers plans for New World Order.
Mike
Son of a gun do you ever have that nailed. I know you are talking to two crows but I just had to say you are right on and I could have said that myself.
I don't know if I sent you a copy of my Manifesto to the World but you obviiously realize the Bush Nazi connection, this does not end good. I will send the Manifesto to you if you send me an E.
two crows
Your fears are justified and I believe will come to fruition. you are right on! the Nazi ties and connection are a lot deeper than most know. I delved into it pretty extensively and undeniably in my Manifesto to the World. I think you would be very interested in reading it and I will send it to you if you send me an E.
two crows
I just want to add that not only are those that continue to slumber and deny reality going to pay a heavy price but they are going to drag all of us that do get it, down with them. It really stinks that we have no real voice and just have to watch all this. I hate it!
hey, AAP--
I'd love to take a look at your manifesto. I'd rather not put my email here-- I'll open it on my blog temporarily.

and yes, I'm terrified about the parallels I see between what's happening here and the Third Reich. I've been saying so for years and, I think a lot of people thought I was speaking rhetorically. I wasn't. I was speaking literally. for all the good that has done.
two crows
I will go to your site right now to see if your E is there. I am afraid you will agree with the Manifesto. I would love to have you read it and have your input on it. Please feel free to disseminate it also.
