Corporate welfare approved for the next 5 years
Amendments Trimmed, Senate Moves Ahead on Farm Bill: The farm bill tries to change policy fundamentally by eliminating millions of dollars in payments to farmers and farmland owners as a cushion against losses when crop prices fall. Instead, crop insurance, which guarantees revenue when there are drops in prices or crop yields, would become the primary safety net for farmers.
But unlike direct payments to farmers, crop insurance subsidies do not have payment limits. Several lawmakers, including Mr. Coburn and Senator Richard J. Durbin, Democrat of Illinois, have offered amendments that would reduce the amount of insurance subsidies that higher-income farmers could get. Senator Rand Paul, Republican of Kentucky, has offered an amendment that would prevent anyone with over $250,000 in adjusted gross income from receiving any kind of farm payment.
This really pisses me off. If you read the story at the link my understanding of this mess is that they voted to screw those who may need the help when there is a natural disaster and to help the wealthy for another 5 years. They are trying to trim the budget by cutting the food stamps, son of a bitch! The farm bill would cut $ from agriculture programs, mostly by eliminating direct payments and cutting financing for food stamps, which the Agriculture Committee said would contribute to reducing the deficit.
I first became of this crap 5 years ago, last time they were okaying this corporate welfare program. I am stunned that in our current financial situation some of the scum that are supposedly trying to remedy it are still groveling in the corporate welfare money pit.
Farm subsidies Corporate Welfare, Dead Farmers get Billions, Corporations get millions! More spent than on Homeland Defense! Farm subsidies is the largest Corporate Welfare program with more given to them than we spend on Home Land Defense. Dead Farmers get Billions, Corporations get millions and needy farmers get nothing but for Willie Nelson! Remember how bad it was last time around?
Five years ago I became aware of this corruptive program I never realized before because it was well hidden by corruptive Politicians. I keep seeing more and more related information and because of all the unfolding corruption and problems this is getting no attention and it should!
Having gone to an Agricultural High School I am a Farmer by Vocation I worked on and managed many farms. Struggling small farmers was to me normal and just thought that was part of the hard but fun life of today's farmers. That was before I served my country, became an accountant, then turned to writing the truth about the world today and the ever growing corruption.
Thinking that Farm Subsidies were out there to help average farmers, I should have known better but I was really caught off guard when I became aware that Washington spends more on corporate welfare than on homeland security and farm subsidies are America's largest corporate welfare program.
Farms have come a long way since subsidies were introduced as a temporary solution to alleviate the effects of the Great Depression. Today farms have one of the lowest failure rates of any industry in the country. But that is because of the millionaire farmers subsidized by Politicians as the small farmer continues to be left to fail and helped only by Willie Nelson and Farm Aid.
If farm subsidies were really about alleviating farmer poverty, then lawmakers could guarantee every full-time farmer an income of 185 percent of the federal level ($38,203 for a family of four) for under $5 billion annually — one-fifth the current cost of farm subsidies. Instead, small farmers are largely excluded from farm subsidies. Farm subsidy payments are based on acreage, so by definition, the largest agribusiness's get the largest subsidies. Consequently, commercial farmers — who report an average income of $200,000 and net worth of nearly $2 million — now collect the majority of farm subsidies. Most farm subsidy dollars went to millionaires.
Supposedly the Senated voted in 2011 to end the subsidies for the wealthy and I am sure they hid it somehow because this Bill attacked the farmers and people that would need the help and kept alive programs favored by Republicans and some Democrats. As always In steps Willie Nelson and Farm Aid. I have to say that I never realized how valuable him and farm aid was to average farmers. His help is priceless and often the only way small farmers in "serious" trouble can turn.
Willie is still Working to keep family farmers on their land, Farm Aid brings together family farmers and citizens to guarantee family farm food is available to you. Together we can restore family farm-centered agriculture that ensures safe, healthful food, protects natural resources, and strengthens local economies. Please learn more about Willie and farm aid!
I guess when all is said and done it should be no surprise that every single program that can be used to help the wealthy, is and as usual if average Americans are to get help they cannot rely on the Government but must rely on private interests as Katrina and every natural and man made disaster has highlighted since, let alone the Governments mis-actions.
Are we ever going to be able to get our Government honest and helping those that really need it? These S.O.B's did not hit the sweet spot, they trimmed all the wrong amendments, they should still be condemned for screwing over the country and ripping off the people.

Russia and Iran 'support Annan unity government plan as long as it is done their way
Russia 'supports Annan unity government plan : Russia and other big powers have agreed to back a proposal by UN envoy Kofi Annan for a national unity government to lead political change in Syria. Western diplomats say the proposed cabinet could include members of the opposition and government, but no-one who would undermine its credibility. While they see President Bashar al-Assad as excluded from the plan, it is not clear if Russia shares that view. The idea will be discussed on Saturday by the UN Action Group on Syria I agree with this plan but up to now Russia has said "Nyet"
Iranian Renewed Support to Annan Plan as the Best Way to Resolve the Issues in Syria: ''If some powers do not want to benefit from this influence and constructive role, that's their problem and this is another indication of actually neglecting the realities on the ground'' said the Ambassador, underscoring that "the solution is the cooperation among everybody.' " From the beginning we have supported Mr. Kofi Annan's plan and we believe that that's the best way to resolve the issues in Syria.
So any kind of consultations by Kofi Annan with the Islamic Republic of Iran is welcomed anytime," Ambassador Khazaee declared. '' By not assisting foreign groups, opposition groups in Syria and by avoiding foreign intervention in Syria we believe that Syrian people will enjoy a better life and have reform smoothly in their country," Khazaee concluded.
Again, they too will not agree to Assad the murderer of his own stepping down. Also they do agree that no outsiders should help the opposition while they, Russia and China to one degree or the other help Syria!
Kofi Annan, the joint special envoy of the United Nations and Arab League for Syria, proposed the Saturday meeting and wants to see Iran as part of the international efforts to put an early end to the Syrian crisis, which broke out in March 2011. However, the United States and European countries had opposed to Iran`s involvement in the world efforts on Syria.
Annan`s idea on Iran`s role was openly backed by Russia, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. "If some parties do not want to benefit from Iran`s influence and constructive role, that`s their problem," Khazaee said. "And this is another indication of actually neglecting the realities on the ground."
I agree but the realities on the ground are that Iran is influencing and interfering everywhere they possibly can in order to stop what they think is the US getting the way. It has nothing to do with doing the right thing for Syria as a whole. It has everything to do with keeping the US, the West, and Arabs from having events in Syria go their way and not the way of Iran, Russia, China and the rest of their allies.
This is all about the future direction of the entire middle east. The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia (Al Qaeda?) at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!
You know I firmly believe and have said so a million times by now that since 9/11 everything was construed to allow Bush to gain the power he needed to prosecute his new order not just in the Middle East but on the entire world! He diverted from Afghanistan to get back into the Middle East with the goal of setting up a larger safety zone for Israel and going after Iran. Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran but with Iran, the Gulf, Syria, and everything else who knows what will happen first.
Watch out Iran! Watch out US and Israel, Watch out world! We must contain this to the middle east and keep it from turning into WW3. This must be a middle east fight and problem or the entire world is in dire trouble and we have too much already as we try to move successfully through the 21st century. I am afraid we are failing our children in every regard.

Al-Qaida claims Iraq bombings of Shiite: Still think there will be Democracy in Iraq?
Growing up in a Democratic Iraq |
Al-Qaida claims Iraq bombings of Shiite: Al-Qaida’s affiliate in Iraq has claimed responsibility for a wave of car bombs that targeted Shiite pilgrims this week, killing 72 people in what was one of the deadliest days in the country since American troops withdrew six months ago. The Islamic State of Iraq posted messages on militant websites saying it was behind the bombings of the annual pilgrimage marking the eighth-century death of Shiite Imam Moussa al-Kadhim.
The commemorations culminate on Saturday with hundreds of thousands converging on the Baghdad shrine where al-Kadhim is buried. Al-Qaida describes the attacks as a “blessed Wednesday invasion” and says they were a blow to the Iraqi government led by a Shiite prime minister in coalition with Sunnis and Kurdish parties. Wednesday’s bombs also hit Kurdish political offices and army patrols.
Car bombs kill 26 on last day of Iraq pilgrimage: Two car bombs in Iraq's capital killed at least 26 people Saturday on the last day of a Shiite pilgrimage already hit by multiple bombings. The blasts, one in a heavily guarded area close to a revered shrine, raised the week's death toll to more than 100 and cast further doubt on the divided government's ability to secure the country after the American withdrawal.
The Kurds, Shiite, and Sunni are increasingly, openly killing each other, sect against sect against sect.
Remember, the Kurds want their oil and their freedom. That is only one small fact Bush ignored to attack Iraq so he could help Israel and instigate war with Iran. Remember, the Kurds are Sunni and al-Maliki Shiite. Al- Maliki and Iran see Hashimi and the Kurds as a threat to their dominance in the new middle east order.
Many of us have said numerous times that Bush was advised before hand that if he attacked Iraq he would destabilize the middle east. He knew before he ignored all good advice that the neighbors would get involved and they are. He knew that it was most likely that Iraq would be divvied up between the Kurds, the Sunni's, and the Shiite and it will be. In the past I have written extensively the entire middle east would blow and then the entire world would be involved in war.
Bush's intention in attacking Iraq was to get our military back in the Middle East to help Israel establish a safety zone, create a new middle east (dis)order as God told him to, and to establish a permanent middle east presence. I was very concerned that this entire mess in the middle east would take on a life of its own We freed Iran up to instigate for their new order by eliminating Saddam who kept them contained.
The middle east is exploding as we long said it would and anti Israeli anti US forces are trying to use it to their advantage. Israel is nervous as they should be with all their hedging at a real 2 state solution. Across the Arab world, people living under the thumb of repressive leaders are rising up against the rulers who once seemed omnipotent. It is no coincidence these were all American allies! They are not quite sure what they want. But from North Africa to the Arabian Peninsula, they know they want change. And their wrath and their courage are creating a new form of Arab unity.
The goal since we went back into the Middle East has been to see whose version of a new middle east order will prevail. I have faith it will not be Persian Iran's version and not ours but rather a free and Democratic Arabian version whatever shape that may take.
Put all we have been discussing together to get the full picture of a still just developing horror:
5 Years ago we noted: U.S. promises of military aid or arms sales to strengthen its Middle Eastern allies against Iran and other regional foes seem aimed at repairing a balance of power destroyed by the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. That is not what is going to happen or what this is about.
Supposedly Toppling Saddam Hussein ended Iraq's role as a counterweight to Iran, a part it had played since the 1980s in a Gulf security system that Washington had hoped would contain the rival powers. That was only the smallest of the repercussions. Toppling Saddam gave Bush the excuse to get into the middle east, upset the balance of the entire middle east as Bush knew would be the case, and set the stage for Bush's new middle east order that has long been planned and he will not stop now.
This is still just beginning but it will increase rapidly with Iran's threat to close the Gulf and us arming our Allies to help fight them. I had some interesting conversations in relation to this story. That made me remember how long this has all been planned, and put the rest of this developing scenario together. After 50 years of middle east policy and not arming them to fight wars Bush has changed that in hopes of getting them to fight Iran and Syria. That as you know is coming closer.
Bush now Obama will be freed to attack Pakistan and Iran from the Gulf as Iraq quiets and others fight Iran on the ground, or so they think!
We must make a Difference! We think we will now be free to go after Pakistan and Iran from the Gulf with our carrier and battle Groups while others will be able to defend themselves and will be doing the brunt of the fighting and ground combat. Everything is almost prepared. It gets much worse
Remember the Saudi Iranian Neo cold war It is soon to be out in the open and go virile!
Remember the Saudi's opened their air so Israel could attack Iran
I have to reiterate something I have said too many times since Bush chose to ignore all warnings of total civil war spreading throughout the entire Middle East so he could attack Iraq and straighten out the Middle East as God spoke to him and instructed him to.
Bush has created a hell on earth for Iraq that he calls liberty and success with promises to spread it throughout the entire Middle East. He has long wanted a Korea style force in Iraq to secure the peace! We were concerned because we knew that would never work in Iraq or the Middle East! Planting our military in the middle of the mess Bush has created out of the Middle East because of his failed Democratization program would be a Custer's Last Stand on a grand scale!
I still see a total civil war Sunni against Shiite erupting in the Middle East because Bush freed up Iran to instigate it on their end and they are. I still am concerned we will have a permanent presence in the Middle East but feel we will have to largely leave Iraq to her own demise. We will still be there but it looks like Yemen, and the Gulf of Aden will be the prime focus unless Iran gets something going between the US and Iran.
As you know, I talk about it often as I watch Bush's new Middle East (dis)order progress. He ignored Afghanistan so he could use the patriot acts powers to divert from Afghanistan to attack Iraq using the excuse of unseating Saddam so he could get in the Middle East to help Israel establish a buffer zone and establish a new middle east (dis) order or so Israel and Cheney thought.
Bush at Cheney's urging made an abrupt shift in policy towards Syria, a shift that has now brought the entire Mideast region to the brink of war and chaos. Much worse than the hell on earth they created for Iraq. Did you ever read A clean Break, Cheney's well documented destructive plans for the middle east
That plan was put together in 1996 for Israel. They were just waiting for an idiot to come along so they could implement their plan for the Middle East. Along came the life long follower and life long alcoholic loser Georgie Bush. I wish I could say the rest is History but this is still barely beginning and just beginning to take shape. All Bush did by ignoring Afghanistan and attacking Iraq was to guarantee a loss of everything and a complete Middle East and Asian Breakdown.
He freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.
Turkey vows to retaliate, sends military convoy to Syrian border drawing defiance from Assad
Turkey vows to retaliate 'with determination' after jet shooting, sends military convoy to Syrian border, Threatens Force if Syrian Troops Near Border
Turkey vows to retaliate 'with determination' after jet shooting I hate to say it but it will open between Turkey and Syria probably purposely then Iran will get in and to one degree or the other Russia and China, I do not believe we are smart enough to keep out of it either.
Turkey threatens military retaliation along Syria border, drawing defiance from Assad
Turkey sends military convoy to Syrian border: Turkey has deployed a large number of military vehicles to the Syrian border, daily Milliyet reported. While NATO meeting on Tuesday netted some strong words, the Secretary General of NATO made it clear that chapter 5, the part of the treaty with teeth, was never mentioned. This means that without another incident, there is currently zero chance of NATO action against Syria.
Interestingly, however, Turkey seems to be taking no chances. According to Turkish media, the military is sending a convoy of troops to the border: The shipment included 15 armored tanks, in addition to long-distance guns and other military vehicles. The convoy was heavily guarded as it moved toward the border in the event of an attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) members.
Turkey Threatens Force if Syrian Troops Near Border: Buoyed by support from NATO allies, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday threatened a Turkish military response to any perceived threat from Syria along the troubled border following the disputed downing of a Turkish warplane. The Turkish leader's bellicose tone signaled no discernible easing of tensions between the two Mediterranean neighbors as ambassadors from the NATO alliance, desperate to avoid a wider conflict, held emergency talks in Brussels.
In a unanimous statement, the NATO allies called the episode "another example of the Syrian authorities’ disregard for international norms, peace and security, and human life." “I would certainly expect that such an incident won’t happen again,” Mr. Rasmussen said at a news conference at alliance headquarters in Brussels. He added that NATO would closely follow developments and “if necessary, consult and discuss what else could be done.”
As Syrian opposition groups gather in Turkey and continue to unify, a Syrian Helicopter Pilot Defected and Escaped to Turkey. Also a senior intel officer was assassinated and Turkey a neighbor and once close ally closed its embassy and joined the United States sending non lethal aid to the opposition.
Almost 40 Syrian soldiers - including a general and two colonels - have defected to Turkey, according to Turkish state television. Reports said that the general, two colonels, two majors, one lieutenant and 33 soldiers had arrived in Turkey but did not give any more details.
Another channel, CNN Turk, also reported the defections, adding that they had arrived with members of their families, making a total of 224 individuals. The reported defections come a day before an emergency Nato meeting to discuss the shooting down of a Turkish warplane by Syrian forces. Before that a Syrian Colonel defected to Turkey with his Russian Mig 21 fighter jet, that is why I figure Syria shot down Turkey's plane.
At this point the UN has condemned Syria for what that is worth and Turkey has said they would not go to war over recent events but she is sure appearing to be instigating it right now. Russia and China are not going to allow themselves to be kicked out of Syria as would be the case if the opposition gained power.
Likewise, there is also no way Iran is going to let her ally and guard 'Syria" fall to the opposition or more pointedly Democracy and US and Western influence. Nor are they going to sit still while Turkey gets involved which is what I have to say Syria has been counting on.
Syria seems to be baiting Turkey knowing NATO will step up because Syria knows in turn so will Russia China and Iran. I do not like what I see! Syria is China and Russia's last real foot hold in the middle east they and Iran are not going to give this up easily. This is going to take a hell of a long and deadly fight. I fully expect Russia and China to be drawn into this and then the entire middle east will take sides. I hope we can avert WW3 but I would not bet on it!

Rethinking the Drug War in the Americas
Rethinking the Drug War in the Americas: Since Richard Nixon started the war on drugs 40 years ago, both the demand for narcotics and the violence surrounding the drug trade have risen dramatically, and the United States alone has spent more than $1 trillion losing the fight.
After decades of failed strategy, Latin American heads of state are now boldly pressuring the United States for a change of policy across the Americas.
Over the past few years, a movement in favor of decriminalization, legal regulation and various alternatives to the war on drugs has been gaining steam from Mexico all the way down to Argentina, but it has really caught fire in the last couple of months. This is a decidedly good thing.
Report: 'The Drug War Has Failed'
Any way you look at it the world realizes the war on drugs is lost and the war on drugs has been a war of choice. You have to wonder why we are really fighting this so called war on drugs in the first place. The world says drug war lost end it so the US increases drug war spending. Duh!
I want to say something different for me. When I think of the war on drugs I think illegal drugs but at the link above I learned something I never gave a thought and that is that over 50,000 Americans are killed a year from prescription drugs. That is a growing problem and where we should be concentrating our efforts.
Our 100 year drug war is tearing Mexico apart but unlike us I think they can win it! After 40 years the front line is now the entire US covering every State and all of Mexico. It has now engulfed and is endangering the very being of Mexico as a country and safe for its citizens. However this is not Nixon's 40 year drug war but the US 100 year drug war and we are losing!
With our 100 year drug war and guns being purchased here and sent to Mexico then drugs being sent here feeding this drug war. This has not spilled over from Mexico it has spilled over from the US.
I reiterate: eastern California, southern Arizona and New Mexico are clamping down and National Guard troops are now involved! Phoenix has become the kidnap capitol of the US! The cartels now operate in every State in America. With a reported 100,000 foot soldiers many of them trained military soldiers who have deserted to fight on the more lucrative side this is a formidable force! What about the Mexico mafia?
We keep hearing that Mexico's war on drugs is spilling over into the US. Now Congress is meeting about it. We are hearing of National Guard troops being called to help because Mexico's drug war has endangered Border States. Weapons are being purchased from gun dealers around the United States and being smuggled into Mexico to be used by the Drug cartels to fight Mexico's military in fighting Mexico's drug war. I have a few questions for our brain dead Politicians as they are once again in denial!
First I want to say when you work with the US you are taking on a lot of trouble. Anyway if I remember correctly our authorities have bragged for years that they are fighting a war against drugs! America can not afford a war on Drugs end it!
Of course there are big fears of our drug war that spilled South to Mexico now spilling back to our side of the Border as violence and it is happening The violence is only there and fed by our insatiable hunger for marijuana and other drugs. We can end this! We can control the border as we still are not and put our military on the border. That is where they should be not on 733 US bases around the world.
Forget poor Mexico, forget Nixon's 40 year war on drugs, end America's Own 100 Year Failed War on Drugs!
We have been fighting a self professed war on Drugs for one hundred years! I wish someone would be able to figure out at what cost. It seems to me that the drug war has spilled over the Border with Mexico. However it went north to south. It is our drug war that has spilled into Mexico. It is us that have made Mexico the narco State it is. I do believe we should at least put American military on the border and do not really understand why it is not. That would go a long way in stopping the problem so I do not understand why they are not on the Border unless it is because a certain political interest still does not want the border secured to enable illegal immigration? Why else? A desire to keep this war going? For gain? of what?
Legalize marijuana at least then if it works follow with the rest! That would kill much of the incentive for Cartels to be waging a war on drugs. Yes there is cocaine heroine and other drugs but marijuana is America's number one cash crop! That blew me away. According to official Government figures The value of the annual harvest exceeds that of corn, soybeans, or hay, the country's top three legal cash crops with an annual crop value of $35 Billion. There have been an estimated 100 million pot plants destroyed between 1981 and 2006 yet production has still increased 10 fold to 22 million pounds!
Legalize it, secure the border! Just imagine what it would be if it was legalized. Regulate it like alcohol, sell it in package stores! Tax it! Look at the potential revenue. Legalizing marijuana would end a hell of a lot of problems and create exactly zero! Think about it! The number one abused drug in the world is legal, Alcohol! It destroys numerous lives!
What sane argument is there against legalization? None, none whatsoever! All we are doing with this insane war on drugs is driving people and not just kids to experiment and find a legal way to get high with common household products. We are only making the problem exponentially worse. END IT! LEGALIZE! We have enough problems with over the counter drugs. That is where our efforts should be concentrated.

Many more soldiers killed and defected as Syrian military losing morale:
The Syrian army is slowly disintegrating as troop morale plummets, with Irran Russia and China there then what? |
Many more soldiers killed and defected as Syrian military losing morale: Russian military supply ship heads back to Syria under armed escort!
Just in: Almost 40 Syrian soldiers - including a general and two colonels - have defected to Turkey, according to Turkish state television.
At least 34 killed, more than 1/2 soldiers as Syria violence hits new heights. Violence in Syria killed at least 34 people on Sunday, more than half of them troops who died in clashes with rebels as the bloodshed reached new heights, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. In a further blow to the army, rebels captured 11 soldiers during an attack on their base in the regime stronghold of Al-Nabak in Damascus province. At least 16 soldiers were killed in fighting in the northern province of Aleppo, while two others died in attacks elsewhere in the country.
"The clashes happened almost simultaneously at dawn" in several towns in Aleppo province, the Observatory's Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP by telephone. The Britain-based group added that a number of soldiers defected after an attack on an artillery battalion in the province, taking with them a large amount of weapons. "The morale of the military is very low," Abdel Rahman said, adding the army recently buried 113 soldiers in one region alone.
More than 15,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in Syria since the outbreak of the revolt against Assad's rule in March 2011, according to the Observatory.
A ship carrying Russian helicopters to Syria, which turned back after its insurance was cut, is expected to resume its journey accompanied by at least one other vessel, Interfax reported on Sunday, citing a military source.
The report is likely to reignite international criticism of Russia's arms deliveries to Syria which U.S. officials have called reprehensible and the Arab League has said should be stopped. "A military-diplomatic source in Moscow told Interfax that (the ship) will go from Murmansk to Syria. According to his information the ship should travel under escort," the news agency reported.
Syrian soldiers are being killed and defecting in larger and larger numbers causing the Military to lose morale. Think about the large scale slaughtering of civilians seemingly sanctioned by China, Russia, and Iran with their keeping the West from helping the people and their supplying of arms and ammunition and high tech weapons to slaughter them and as we are led to think, be used to keep foreign Nations from interfering with what has developed into a civil war thanks to Assad.
You have to be more concerned than ever about the huge "wide spread land air and sea military "exercise" Iran, Syria, Russia, and China are preparing for in July. Putin may back Assad's removal or Assad may be killed otherwise he and the Alawite's and their allies are going no where. Russia just sent in marines and 2 war ships to Syria to supposedly aid in evacuation of necessary. Russia and China are not going to allow themselves to be kicked out of Syria as would be the case if the opposition gained power.
Likewise, there is also no way Iran is going to let her ally and guard 'Syria" fall to the opposition or more pointedly Democracy and US and Western influence. With that said Iran, Russia, China to stage massive joint military drill in Syria: Iran, Russia, China and Syria are planning to hold joint military drill in Syria in early July, according to a report published Tuesday morning by Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency.
Citing "informed sources," Fars reported that the four countries will conduct war games on land and at sea, with the participation of some 90,000 soldiers, 1,000 tanks and 400 aircraft. According to the sources, Egypt has agreed to allow 12 Chinese warships passage through the Suez Canal on their way to Syria. Iranian battleships and submarines, along with Russian nuclear submarines, warships, aircraft carriers and mine-clearing destroyers will also participate in the exercise.
This is no frigging game, this is no frigging joke. Under the guise of a war game I do not believe we have a choice but we are preparing to allow the 4 players to set up and have on station all the military equipment, hardware, and personnel, they will need when this "blows" even if they instigate it when "dragged into this" because "free Syrian Army" attacked one of their interests.
Any way you look at it, 1000 tanks, 400 aircraft, 90000 soldiers, 12 Chinese war ships, that is not an exercise that is a staying force. If the Government somehow falls there is no way in hell that Russia and China are just going to go home and sulk. They are going to stay whether the people like it or not and make this their stand in the middle east.
Putin and China have had enough. They are going to make a stand. If you have not noticed they have chosen to make it here on the backs of the Syrian people. I do not like what I see! Syria is China and Russia's last real foot hold in the middle east they and Iran are not going to give this up easily. This is going to take a hell of a long and deadly fight. I fully expect Russia and China to be drawn into this and then the entire middle east will take sides. I hop[e we can avert WW3 but I would not bet on it!

Yemen: Troops regain 3 al-Qaida strongholds

Yemen: Troops regain al-Qaida stronghold: Government troops regained control of a key al-Qaida stronghold in Yemen's south in a surprise dawn attack on Tuesday, recording their first major triumph over the militant group in more than a year, witnesses and the military said. Military officials said the attack on Jaar followed hours of heavy shelling of the town by artillery and rockets from hilltop positions. At dawn, troops and allied tribesmen entered the town from three different fronts in trucks, while dozens of tanks were used to block the town's entry and exit points, they said.
The officials and witnesses said that some 500 al-Qaida militants fled the town after spraying the town's walls and store shutters with graffiti saying, "Al-Qaida has withdrawn. Al-Qaida was not defeated." The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. SABA said the militants fled to the nearby coastal town of Shaqra, another al-Qaida stronghold.
Yemen govt says poised to seize 3rd town from al Qaeda:Asked about the coastal city of Shaqra, where militants fled after quitting Zinjibar and Jaar, the minister said: "It will be over within hours." And it was, now they are well om their way of removing Al Qaeda from all their Southern fortresses.
Toll climbs in Yemen's fight against Al Qaeda as Yemeni troops push into al Qaeda strongholds: Citizens say it is time to get rid of Al Qaeda! Yemen Moves to Recapture Towns Controlled by Islamist Insurgents, US escalates clandestine war in Yemen, Yemen's army and air force supported by local militiamen and with US backing stepped up an offensive to expel Al-Qaeda from their southern bastions. This is looking good! Yemen, US vow to crush Qaeda, Yes they can!
I am happy to say that with their new leader it now looks like Yemen can do this! Backed by heavy artillery and warplanes, Yemeni troops have advanced into Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan province, which fell under the control of al Qaeda-linked fighters last year as the country was engulfed by political turmoil that led to the ouster of longtime leader Ali Abdullah Saleh. Theory was that If the military were to capture Zinjibar, it would deal a heavy blow to al Qaeda by depriving it of a key base and scattering its fighters to smaller towns and mountain areas of the south.
"They "Al Qaeda" gave us electricity, free water and food," he says of al-Qaeda, "but they have brought the army. They have brought war. Civilians are dying now because of them." Tribal fighters in the city of Lawder, Yemen, celebrated victory over al-Qaeda-linked militants Thursday as government soldiers continued the battle farther south to regain control of two cities in the latest offensive against the insurgents.
US escalates clandestine war in Yemen: Operating from a Yemeni base, at least 20 U.S. special operations troops have used satellite imagery, drone video, eavesdropping systems and other technical means to help pinpoint targets for an offensive that intensified this week, said U.S. and Yemeni officials who asked not to be identified talking about the sensitive operation.
The U.S. forces also advised Yemeni military commanders on where and when to deploy their troops, two senior Obama administration officials said. The U.S. contingent is expected to grow, a senior military official said.
Yemen's army and air force supported by local militiamen and with US backing stepped up an offensive to expel Al-Qaeda from their southern bastions, with fighting concentrated around the town of Jaar on Sunday. "Violent clashes on Jaar's western outskirts between the army and Al-Qaeda are continuing," a military official said. They will not stop till they drive Al Qaeda from Yemen.
Yemen, US vow to crush Qaeda: Yemen's army chief warned Al-Qaeda and its local affiliates that the "war" against them would continue unabated. Yes they can! Best part? The people vowed to defeat Al Qaeda too and that is what it takes!
Al Qaeda has always been in Yemen but it has now become Al Qaeda central. Their principle targets are Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the US, allies and allies in this so called war on terror. Best of all for us is they are killing their own people and trying to destroy their survival so the people have turned on them and want them out!
The Saudi and Yemen branches of Al Qaeda have joined forces and many outsiders are moving in to join the fight as I believe Al Shabab has done instead of being killed in Somalia. Yemen is on the verge of being a failed state as you already know. Yemen is on the Abyss and we must help them for own good! What to do? They have been dealing with terrorism and insurgencies for years!
They are not a failed state but well on their way and may be tomorrow! Their attention has been on survival as a country. With that in mind I believe building them a desalination plant would out Al Qaeda once they started to destroy it and let the people know we were on their side.
As many of you know by now my prime concern in Yemen was the interference by Iran in trying to get Shiite dominance there. Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program.
The goal now absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!
In Yemen once again the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is the instigator. They are ferrying weapons through Eritrea to Yemen. They are now avoiding the Arabian Peninsula as Saudi Arabia has instituted a blockade along the coast of Yemen. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has also transported Lebanese Hezbollah fighters to fight with the rebels.
As you know, Saudi Arabia is also there fighting the Iranian backed Houthi rebels. So far there has been no direct confrontation. However I absolutely see what I have been warning about since Bush diverted from Afghanistan to attack Iraq and get back in the middle east to create a new middle east (dis)order! This is going to be total middle east war for a new middle east order like it or not, Sunni against Shiite.
It is looking like Yemen is going to be the first country down! The Middle East is right to be concerned. Yemen is going through severe domestic turmoil due to the violent activities of Al Qaeda, Houthi rebels in the north and the Southern Movement in the south. The remaining Jews are threatened with slaughter by the Shiite. How much longer can Yemen hold on? What is next?
Yemeni Al Qaeda previously sent arms and help to Al Shabab in their fight in Somalia. Al Shabab is reciprocating sending fighters to Yemen to help Yemeni Al Qaeda as they were being defeated in Somalia anyway.
Supposedly the so called experts say the three forces operating to destabilize Yemen from the North, South, and East will not join forces but you bet they will and seem to be already! Al Qaeda has been leaving Iraq, Afghanistan, and Mauritania; to use Yemen as their new base we in turn better meet them there with some kind of force "which seems to be drones since it is all we can do there.
This entire so called terrorism war is barely beginning. This is not a war to end all wars but the war of all wars. Remember, this is George Bush's Forever war and there is much, much more coming. Be very concerned about what is happening in Yemen!

Because of China, Russia, and Iran I have become very concerned about a Syria without Bashar al-Assad
Did Egypt let China's ships through the Suez to trap them or... |
Very, very concerned! Reading all this about the more than 20,000 military defections many of the of the highest level and the growing number of high level Government officials you want to be happy for the Syrian people wanting Democracy. Especially that There is even at least one in the Palace and in the Government transferring money to other countries and making other preparations. I would be cautious about moving money to China though.
Anyway think about the large scale slaughtering of civilians seemingly sanctioned by China, Russia, and Iran with their keeping the West from helping the people and their supplying of arms and ammunition and high tech weapons to slaughter them and as we are led to think, be used to keep foreign Nations from interfering with what has developed into a civil war thanks to Assad.
Syrian fighter pilot defects to Jordan with his MiG-21 warplane (+video), other senior figures trying to defect
Syrian fighter pilot defects to Jordan with his MiG-21 warplane (+video): Turkish officials said that two Syrian generals, a colonel and two sergeants had defected from the army and crossed into Turkey. Also in March, Syria's deputy oil minister became the highest-ranking civilian official to join the opposition and urged his countrymen to "abandon this sinking ship" as the nation spiraled toward civil war.
Brig. Gen. Mostafa Ahmad al-Sheik, who fled to Turkey in January, was the highest ranking officer to bolt. In late August, Adnan Bakkour, the attorney general of the central city of Hama, appeared in a video announcing he had defected. In January, Imad Ghalioun, a member of Syria's parliament, left the country to join the opposition saying the Syrian people are suffering sweeping human rights violations.
'Senior Syria regime figures trying to defect': According to the report, senior Syrian military commanders have outlined “exit strategies” and are making direct contact with rebel forces to ensure that they will be welcomed and not persecuted. The Daily Telegraph also claimed that three other MiG pilots also considered defecting, but worried about how they would be treated. “We are seeing members of Bashar Assad’s inner circle make plans to leave.
" The report indicates that the defectors' plans have gotten as concrete as moving large sums of money offshore into Lebanese and Chinese banks and making contact with opposition elements and Western governments. Syrian opposition groups confirmed that they were actively courting American help to encourage more defections. One senior opposition source told the Telegraph that, “I know for sure there are some high-ranking officers who are waiting for the right chance to leave. We have names of people in the presidential palace.
Meanwhile Syrian security forces killed 144 people yesterday, a rights group said, making it one of the bloodiest days in recent weeks in President Bashar al-Assad’s crackdown on opposition groups. More than 30 of the deaths came in the central region of Homs, and another 29 in Daraa in the south, the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in an e-mailed statement today. It said at least 54 soldiers also died.
If you have no noticed they have chosen to make it here on the backs of the Syrian people. I do not like what I see! Syria is China and Russia's last real foot hold in the middle east they and Iran are not going to give this up easily. This is going to take a hell of a long and deadly fight. I fully expect Russia and China to be drawn into this and then the entire middle east will take sides. WW3 I hope not as I hope we can minimize this if that can be used in this context.

US wants greater role for India in Afghanistan
US wants greater role for India in Afghanistan: Panetta, in the first of two days of talks with Indian officials, "underscored the link India plays between East and West Asia and how the United States views India as a net provider of security from the Indian Ocean to Afghanistan and beyond," Pentagon spokesman George Little said.
India signed a security agreement with Afghanistan last year and has longstanding ties with Kabul, but the relationship is viewed with suspicion by Pakistan. The Afghan conflict is considered by some to be a proxy war between the two nuclear neighbors. Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency, for example, was suspected of being behind the 2008 suicide bombing that killed 41 people at the Indian Embassy in Kabul, a charge Islamabad denies. India has voiced concern about resurgent Islamic extremism in Afghanistan once international forces withdraw.
That will never happen other than very limited because ultimately Pakistan wants Afghanistan back as does India that is why Pakistan is arming and training the Taliban to defeat NATO and Afghanistan and angry we are killing them
Taliban commanders say Pakistan intelligence helps them:
According to a commander using the name Mullah Azizullah, the experts running the training are either members of the ISI or have close links to it."They are all the ISI's men. They are the ones who run the training. First they train us about bombs; then they give us practical guidance," he said.
AL QAEDA TALENT SPOTTING: Another Taliban fighter, known as Commander Najib, said al Qaeda trainers also operated in the camps, talent spotting possible suicide bombers. It gets much deeper!
NATO says an estimated 200 insurgents were killed or captured in two military operations that just ended in eastern Afghanistan. They were aimed at disrupting militant groups, including the al-Qaeda and Taliban-affiliated Haqqani network. The forces also seized more than 400 kilograms of explosives, weapons, munitions and computers.
NATO choppers violated air space: Pakistan officials: Pakistani officials accused NATO helicopters of violating Pakistan's air space over the Taliban and Haqqani stronghold of North Waziristan, along the Afghan border. If Pakistan wants the incursions to stop they know where the Haqqani's are either kill them or make them come to the bargaining table between the US, Pakistan, and the Haqqani's.
The United States now believes that for the last 10 years Pakistan has been playing a double game, publicly acting as America’s ally, while secretly training and arming the Taliban in its war against the US in Afghanistan. In a prison cell on the outskirts of Kabul, the Afghan Intelligence Service is holding a young man who alleges he was recruited earlier this year by Pakistan’s powerful military intelligence agency, the ISI.
He says the Pakistanis trained him to be a suicide bomber, to be used in the Taliban’s intensifying military campaign against the Western coalition forces. “For a fighter there are two important things – supplies and a place to hide,” According to one Taliban commander, who fights under the name Mullah Qaseem:. Pakistan plays a significant role. First they support us by providing a place to hide which is really important. Secondly, they provide us with weapons.”
Another commander, Najib, describes how, following the American troop surge introduced by President Obama in Afghanistan in 2009, the Pakistanis responded in kind. “Because Obama put more troops into Afghanistan and increased operations here, so Pakistan’s support for us increased as well. It increased a great deal.” The Taliban commander describes the remarkable contents of a single supply truck he claims the Pakistanis delivered to his group, “500 landmines with remote controls, 20 Rocket propelled grenade launchers with 2000 to 3000 grenades. They brought AK47s, machine guns and rockets.”
The Americans have responded by taking matters into their own hands. In President Obama’s first year in office, there were an estimated 53 drone strikes inside Pakistan on Taliban camps or key figures in the insurgency – more than the previous five years combined. Read the entire article it is very telling and short! Pakistani ISI is fuming because we took them out of the link and have been increasingly successful in killing the Haqqani's and the other Taliban and Al Qaeda militants the ISI has been giving intelligence and weapons to in order to create chaos in Afghanistan.
The ISI ultimately want to regain control of Afghanistan. Watch this video on historical Pakistan and Afghanistan's relationship

War games in a war zone? Hold on!
Syria Iran Russia China land and sea war games in the middle of a war zone? |
Putin no longer backs Syria's Assad in power: Britain's PM Cameron said Putin had shifted his view of the Syrian leader during talks with U.S. President Barack Obama and other world leaders at a Group of 20 summit in Mexico, and that discussions were now focused on a transition.
"There remain differences over sequencing and the shape of how the transition takes place but it is welcome that President Putin has been explicit that he does not want Assad remaining in charge in Syria," Cameron told reporters. "What we need next is an agreement on a transitional leadership which can move Syria to a democratic future that protects the rights of all its communities."
UN mission 'morally obliged' to stay in Syria: he head of the suspended United Nations' observer mission to Syria has told the Security Council his monitors were repeatedly targeted by hostile crowds, but that the mission is morally obliged to stay in the country.
Major General Robert Mood told the 15-nation security council on Tuesday that his 300-strong unarmed observer force was targeted with gunfire at least 10 times last week and nine vehicles were damaged, according to a UN diplomat who attended the closed- door briefing. The mission was suspended on Saturday after Mood, a Norwegian, said the risk to the unarmed observers was too great. Mood said that the UN monitors were "morally obliged" to stay in Syria even though escalating violence has halted operations.
This is really starting to smell like a setup. Remember our conversation of yesterday
From day one I have been warning that we are the target here. The US and our allies are the target and the Syrian people are merely the tools in this the opening volley in the battle against US hegemony and future dominance. Remember, when Bush was President Russia, China, and Iran, were the three main players in the force Putin was putting together to take on US war mongering around the world.
This is no coincidence! Putin may back Assad's removal but he and the Alawite's and their allies are going no where. Russia just sent in marines and 2 war ships to Syria to supposedly aid in evacuation of necessary. Russia and China are not going to allow themselves to be kicked out of Syria as would be the case if the opposition gained power.

Does anyone else see what is setting up right before our eyes and we appear to be helpless to stop it?

Report: Iran, Russia, China to stage massive joint military drill in Syria: Iran, Russia, China and Syria are planning to hold joint military drill in Syria in early July, according to a report published Tuesday morning by Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency.
Claims of FSA planning to attack Tartus: The website “syrfuture.com” reported that the FSA leadership, from its base on the Turkish border, was preparing "to launch a military campaign against the northern coastal town of Tartus, which is currently being protected by thousands of Syrian officers and soldiers. It serves as a base for a sizeable proportion of the 100,000 Russians who are deployed in various northern areas and in the capital Damascus, where it is rumored that Syrian missile and chemical arsenals are located.
Western countries such as France, Britain, the United States and Canada believe that (Syrian President) Bashar al-Assad's regime would not hesitate to use these weapons against any Western-Arab military intervention in his country, and against neighboring countries like Lebanon, Turkey, and Jordan, if he realized that his downfall was inevitable." The same website reported that "a FSA officer revealed the plans to move the battle to Tartus and its port, the location of Russia’s only naval base in the Mediterranean Sea, and that it is only a question of time."
Russia sending two warships to Syrian coast: report: shipment of attack helicopters and missiles stopped out side of Scotland on way to Syria
Russia sending two warships to Syrian coast: report: "Two major amphibious ships -- The Nikolai Filchenkov and The Tsezar Kunikov -- are preparing to be dispatched to Tartus outside of their schedule," the Russian news agency quoted an unidentified officer from the Russian naval headquarters as saying. The two ships will carry a "large" group of marines, Interfax added. There was no official confirmation of the report from the navy or the defence ministry.
The Tsezar Kunikov can carry 150 landing troops and various armaments including tanks, while The Nikolai Filchenkov can carry up to 1,500 tonnes of cargo and equipment, the report said. Interfax said that the ships could be used to evacuate Russian nationals. "The crews of The Nikolai Filchenkov and The Tsezar Kunikov and SB-15 rescue tug together with marines on board are able to ensure security of Russian nationals and evacuate part of the property of the logistical support base if need be," Interfax quoted a source as saying.
Vladimir Putin's strong support to the Syrian regime, and Barack Obama, whose country called for the departure of Bashar al-Assad also said they were "united in the idea that the Syrian people should be able to choose their future in an independent and democratic atmosphere" . Vladimir Putin has declared he found "numerous points of agreement" with Barack Obama on how to settle the Syrian crisis.
Washington also hopes that Russia will eventually facilitate a solution to the crisis in Syria, despite its refusal to support resolutions at the UN Security Council, condemning the regime for its repression of the revolt. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also accused Moscow last week of delivering gunship helicopters to President Assad's forces. Russia then replied that it had only repaired them in accordance to contracts signed before the crisis.
Russian shipment of attack helicopters and missiles stopped out side of Scotland on way to Syria
Russian Syria-bound arms ship turns back: Britain: The Curacao-flagged cargo ship Alaed, last seen off the north-west coast of Scotland this week, was believed to carrying Russian weaponry to Syria, according to an insurer which said it had withdrawn coverage for the vessel.
Britain's Foreign Office had said earlier it was aware of a consignment of refurbished Russian-made attack helicopters heading for Syria, but did not say if it was referring to the same vessel. "I am pleased that the ship that was reported to be carrying arms to Syria has now turned back apparently towards Russia," British Foreign Secretary William Hague told parliament.
Lavrov said Syria is their strong ally and they do not have to and will not tell the US anything. Not good. I told you of the dangers of Putin to the world and our future! US hegemony is the real target in Syria. What we are watching unfold is the first salvo in the war for future dominance. Russia is not going to let us have our way here. I hear they will stop short of WW3 but I would not count on that.
Remember when Putin was rallying and uniting the world to take on Bush and his drive to dominate the world? Absolutely as the world's mayhem ensues amidst its drive to dominate as we move through the 21st century is Putin's only agenda. It is an old thought. I remember when term limits made him have to leave last time. There was immediate speculation as to him taking back the Presidency after his term as PM. Putin is not to be trusted and Russians have felt his grubby little hands around their necks for 12 years as he intimidates and tries to control Russia's future for his party.
Be scared be very scared! The USSR's Mikhail Gorbachev has warned that Russia risks six lost years when Vladimir Putin returns to the presidency, echoing rumblings of dissent over his Kremlin comeback. I always find myself agreeing with Gorbachev but that is putting it mildly. This is bad news for the US and the world!
This is very concerning. I remember back in 2008 when Putin was going to try and be President for life. He was not alone. Leaders aligned with Russia were all trying to get permanent leadership so they could be at the helm of their prospective countries to take on then President Bush when his war mongering hit the point where Russia, the 135 non aligned Nations, Iran, and others were prepared to join forces and take him and our allies on.
I remember when Bush first met Putin and he said he shook his hand and looked him in the eye and saw a man of compassion, a man who was true to his word, and a man he could work with. I shuttered at Bush's stupidity. I looked at Putin and saw a man deceitful to the core who was not to be trusted period.
We were too pompous then and were pushing the world towards WW3 with our take it or leave it, my way or the highway, interference around the world. Putin was determined to head us off, to directly confront us when we were on Russia's front door trying to instigate war by installing the so called missile shield in Czechoslovakia and Poland, and return Russia to the role of a world leader.
Personally we blew it when Russia broke up and the Berlin wall came down. We were the world leader and had the perfect opportunity to be humble, show we were the leader, and bring the world together to proceed successfully through the 21st century. We egged on the likes of Vladimir Putin who understandably chaffed under our we are the boss do what we say take it or leave it, it your face tactics of Bush and Cheney.
I had great hope when we elected President Obama who set the reset button with Russia and Russia who had elected Dmitri Medvedev who agreed to work with the US to proceed through the 21st century as partners instead of heading towards WW3 as adversaries. With the return of Putin to the Russian Presidency I am again very concerned and see an end to a partner country whose leaders words and actions we can trust and a return to a confrontational relationship with Russia. I do not like the man, I do not trust the man, and I am very concerned as to which direction Russia and the United States are headed now and at a time when China is surging militarily.
I am a little worried that China too is getting a little too heavy handed and abusive with her new position of power and beginning to take what she wants instead of being content with what she has which is what I constantly lecture has to be the case if we are to have a future. The time when man and the planet could handle war is over, period or else! Be very concerned for our future!

Dozens of Afghan civilians die in bloody day: More Taliban success!
: Dozens of Afghan civilians die in bloody day: Twenty-three people were killed and 50 others were wounded in the suicide attack in a car park crammed with vehicles supplying the largest NATO base in southern Afghanistan, police said.A suicide bomber on a motorcycle struck first and as a crowd gathered to help the victims a second bomber walked into their midst and set off explosives strapped to his body, Kandahar provincial police chief General Abdul Raziq told AFP.
"All casualties are civilians -- not a single military person," he said. Taliban insurgents claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying on their website that "several dozen of the foreign terrorist forces and their puppets were killed Wednesday in a martyrdom attack".
Pakistan and Taliban acused of poisoning Afghan schoolchildren: Pakistan and Taliban acused of poisoning Afghan schoolchildren. Afghan intelligence on Wednesday accused Pakistani spies of poisoning schoolgirls as authorities battle to halt a string of alleged attacks that have sown panic in parts of the north.
President Hamid Karzai called for an investigation and Mr Mashal said the intelligence service discovered a conspiracy by militants to try to scare families from sending their children to school. "They want to create terror and fear among students, especially in the education sector and also in the health sector, which are two of the major achievements of the 10 years of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan," said Mashal.
UN: Civilian deaths in Afghan war hit record : Last year was the deadliest on record for Afghan civilians with 3,021 killed, a rise of 8 percent from the year before as insurgents ratcheted up violence with roadside bombs and suicide attacks, the United Nations said Saturday.
Taliban-affiliated militants were responsible for more than three-quarters of the civilian deaths in 2011, the fifth year in a row in which the death toll went up, the U.N. said. The figures were a grim testament to the violence the Taliban and allied Islamist militants can still unleash in Afghanistan, even as NATO begins to map out plans for international troops to draw down and give Afghan security forces the main responsibility for fighting insurgents by the end of 2014. Mullah Omar must be quite pleased!
Who is the real Mullah Omar? Omar was for killing his people before he was against it before he was for it before he was against it... You get the picture
Mullah Omar Wikipedia
There was 8 Killed in Afghan Bombing Days After Mullah's Rebuke: Afghan officials said the attack in the Baghlani Jadid district of Baghlan Province, which occurred as worshipers left a mosque after prayers on the first day of the three-day Id al-Adha holiday, was carried out by the Taliban. Two days earlier, the Taliban’s reclusive leader, Mullah Omar, delivered his annual message for Id al-Adha, the holiest day of the Islamic year, including a strongly worded statement calling on his followers to refrain from causing civilian casualties.
Just over a year ago Taliban leader Mullah Omar ordered fighters to kill Afghan civilians, contradicting orders he issued the prior year. Remember that farce they called a code of conduct to protect civilians. Yes civilians are dying from both sides. As usual they get the shit end of the stick!
In a statement, NATO said it intercepted orders that Mullah Omar gave to subordinate commanders at the beginning of June 2010 . It says he instructed fighters to kill Afghans who work with NATO or the Afghan government, and to kill women who provide information to coalition forces. I have to ask what's changed really?
There was no immediate reaction to the claim from Taliban leaders. prior to that, Mullah Omar called on militants to avoid causing civilian deaths when attacking government and foreign troops. NATO says Mullah Omar ordered the Taliban to kill civilians You saw the results, while the west was found to be responsible for much fewer deaths the Taliban were purposely killing as many as possible to show them who was in charge.
More than 1,000 Afghan civilians were killed in armed violence and security incidents in the first six months of 2010, an new Afghan study showed. Afghanistan Rights Monitor says 1,074 civilians were killed between January and June - a slight increase compared with the same period in 2009. However, the number of people killed in NATO air strikes in the same period had halved, the report says. Changes to rules of engagement helped reduce that figure, the report says. Afghanistan civilian casualties on the rise compliments of Mullah Omar
We managed to lower the number of civilians killed so Mullah Omar had ordered the Taliban to kill as many as possible. I would hope the civilians in turn to this so called Mullah slaughtering them at will, will turn on them. Their lives are on the line. They have got to stand up! The militants fighting on fronts from Afghanistan to Pakistan feared they were losing the propaganda war among their own people so the leadership released a new "code of conduct" for fighters in the field. Taliban code of conduct You mean misconduct! Seems they have changed their mind like you change your underwear!
I want us to get the hell out of Afghanistan like we should. If we are lucky enough to have that happen and I have my doubts, the people have a choice. They will still have their tribes but otherwise they have the choice of Mullah Omar who will kill them if they do not live the way he says or the corrupt drug dealer Hamid Karzai.

The much maligned Drone is increasingly turning the tide
Major al-Qaida leaders killed in US drone strikes
Al Qaeda's deputy leader, Abu Yahya al-Libi, was killed in a drone strike in northern Pakistan, an American official confirmed on Tuesday, in the biggest single success in the controversial campaign's eight-year history.
Mr. Libi, who was believed to be in his late 40s, moved up to become Al Qaeda’s deputy, behind Ayman al-Zawahri.
One of the most senior al-Qaeda figures in Afghanistan was killed in a weekend air strike, Nato-led forces say. In a statement, Nato described Saudi-born Sakhar al-Taifi as the group's second-most senior figure in Afghanistan. Sakhar al-Taifi died in "a precision air strike" in the Watahpur district of Kunar province, according to a Nato statement. Another rank and file member of al-Qaeda was killed at the same time. Al-Taifi, who also went by the names of Mustaq and Nasim, arranged for weapons and insurgent fighters to be transported into Afghanistan, Nato says.
I have discussed the use of drones in the past and of course I have a controversial viewpoint on this. If you think about the growing situations around the world requiring not boots on the ground necessarily but watching I believe 100% you will agree. As I always say you must look at the whole picture before forming an opinion, that certainly applies here too.
Under Obama from the beginning The United States has stepped up its attacks with the pilot less drone aircraft attacks in Pakistan even more so since a double agent blew himself up at a U.S. base in Afghanistan on December 30, killing seven CIA agents. The so called weak President on terror has drastically increased the use of like it or not what has become an important tool in the so called war on terror, drones. We should have used them exclusively in Afghanistan, we could have saved Billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives.
Are we at war or not? I am not going to say the US should be able to put boots on the ground wherever she wants in this still just beginning so called war on terror but it must be realized and acknowledged that like it or not the US is a prime target if not the main target and is the prime face in the so called war on terror.
The big argument against the use of Drones is innocent people are sometimes killed. I am sorry for that but question the numbers as the extremist we are killing in every instance say we are killing civilians when we are killing them to anger civilians and create and enforce world sentiment against the use of drones.
We have been saying from the beginning that this is a new kind of war, a war like no other. We the entire world better make believe they realize that and act accordingly. Our future depends on it. Everyone who reads my reports knows I did not trust Bush and Cheney an iota. They made me question everything we have done in the past.
That said, I would hope that Obama has no designs of dominating the sovereignty of Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Africa, or anywhere else we have to go to prosecute this so called war on terror. Muslim countries do not want our boots on the ground so they have to allow openly or clandestinely our use of drones in this the first war of the 21st century!
The uses of Drone’s are a necessary evil even as just an observer as the events in Syria, Iran, and the Arab spring countries certainly must prove. They are our equalizer as IED’s are the militant’s necessary evil and equalizer in the new battlefront! The draw back in IED’s or drones is civilian casualties, by the extremists killing civilians is their goal not so called collateral damage. Civilians always pay the price!
That said, civilian casualties are hard to verify as the so called enemy inflates the numbers to win the media war for hearts and minds with wild allegations as we are not allowed to put boots on the ground in Yemen or Pakistan. We can not relent and we must all increase our efforts and do what we can to ensure our success and our successful future!
35 years ago I was in hardened nuclear missile silo's 70 feet underground. I am sure we are still there to counter any threat from China or Russia. We have a command devoted to operating and maintaining these systems. I agree that we should be doing the same thing with drones. Reading the link at the top I knew Drones were being used in Yemen, Somalia, and Libya but was surprised to read about the even more wide spread housing and use of Drones.
It is a necessary evil and at the very least I firmly believe we should set up a separate command dedicated to their use and maintenance. I firmly believe all our troops around the world not just in Iraq, Afghanistan, Serbia, the Philippines, Africa, and everywhere else they are openly and clandestinely should be brought home where they are needed and we should be watching events around the world with drones.
If countries do not want them there they can get rid of the so called terrorist threat by policing themselves and we will have to go home or be the unnecessary aggressor we appear to be.
