Ten civilians killed as Taliban attack Kabul hotel, another successful Taliban attack
Remember a year ago when Mullah Omar ordered the Taliban to attack civilians, Afghan women
In the latest as you may know 10 civilians and all 6 gunmen killed in terrorist attack on the intercontinental hotel attack in Kabul Most of those killed as you may know were civilian workers so the Taliban must be pretty proud of themselves.
Taliban's offensive to destabilize region: In the past six weeks, more than 200 Afghan civilians have been killed and hundreds more wounded in a series of brutal suicide bombings, gun battles and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks across the country When are those people going to get the message and wake up? The bloody winter offensive targeting them is over but fighting season has begun.
Bombs Kill at Least 21 in Afghanistan
Ten civilians killed as Taliban attack Kabul hotel, another successful Taliban attack
When are they going to get it? The Taliban are killing more civilians than ever hoping to get in control of them to kill and maim even more as they were before we attacked. Those civilians better realize that and take it upon themselves to start betraying and fighting the Taliban
Sixteen members from one family die in Taliban bomb
Taliban behind most Afghan civilian casualties: Insurgents are now responsible for about 85% of civilian casualties in the Afghanistan War, an increase from last year and a sign that efforts by the United States and its allies to limit their firepower are succeeding
When are the people going to realize the Taliban are there enemies. The civilians are the Taliban's low hanging fruit. They must come together and turn against the Taliban as many tribes in Pakistan have done and some in Afghanistan are now doing.

Qaddafi 'Seriously Considering' Fleeing Tripoli, US Officials Say as Intern'l Judges Order Arrest Of Moammar Gadhafi
Qaddafi 'Seriously Considering' Fleeing Tripoli, US Officials Say: New U.S. intelligence shows Col. Muammar al-Qaddafi is "seriously considering" fleeing Tripoli for a more secure location outside the capital, according to U.S. officials, raising the prospect Friday that the Libyan leader's hold on power is increasingly fragile.
Intern'l Judges Order Arrest Of Moammar Gadhafi
Use bunker busters and do it in a mass attack of every site he may be at whether he is shielded by civilians or not. If they are stupid enough to be around Gaddafi they have made themselves targets.
I just want to end our commitment and head home where we should be. We have enough to do and Yemen and the Gulf of Aden the next front in the so called war on terror are heating up as we speak and getting ready to explode.
They "the forces loyal to Gaddafi" are not going to relent period. We can not get any deeper than we are so I am happy to see the rebels making gains but leery with Gaddafi forces encroaching on Tunisia and attempting to widen this war or whatever you want to call it.
Gaddafi and his son Saif will never leave their Libya while they are alive so fulfill Gaddafi and Saif's desire to die on Libyan soil though the rebels do not want that as they do not want Libyan soil polluted but at any rate that would barely be a start to the cleansing that will be necessary but by the rebels not us. So sad especially when you look at the large picture of our future.

Rare US missile attacks hit northwest Pakistan: Yeah they got 6 Haqqani's
Rare US missile attacks hit northwest Pakistan
Also U.S. drones kill 21 militants in NW: Pakistan: U.S. drones killed at least 21 suspected militants in Pakistan's South Waziristan on Monday, Pakistani officials said, part of an intensified U.S. assault in the tribal belt this month. In the first strike, a missile hit a moving vehicle in Ghalmandi Panga village on the Afghan border, killing eight ...
US missiles killed six Afghan fighters from the Al-Qaeda-linked Haqqani network in Pakistan's tribal district of Kurram in two strikes just minutes apart on Monday, security officials said. The Haqqani's are our biggest threat, it's about frigging time they were on the run and not on the prowl.
Pakistani officials said it was only the fourth time that US drones had hit Kurram, where Haqqani loyalists are believed to have fled as US pressure mounts on Pakistan to launch an offensive on their headquarters in Waziristan. American drones more routinely target Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants in the neighboring North Waziristan district, where Pakistan has been accused of giving the Haqqani leadership and its 4,000 fighters a de facto safe haven. You mean they have refused to attack there because some in the ISI are complicit with them and other so called Islamists.
Washington has called Pakistan's semi-autonomous northwest tribal region the global headquarters of Al-Qaeda, where Taliban and other Al-Qaeda-linked networks need to be defeated if the 10-year war in Afghanistan is ever to end. FFF'ing A if you want it done and if you want it done right do it yourself period!
Two separate US drone strikes destroyed a vehicle travelling through the Kharh Dhand area of Kurram, which borders Afghanistan's eastern province of Paktia. Then minutes later, a nearby compound was hit, local officials said. Pakistani security officials said six Afghan militants were killed. Makes you wonder how they knew about it so quick doesn't it?
"All those killed in both strikes were Afghan fighters and were Haqqani's men," a Pakistani official told AFP, adding that the Haqqani militants had been hiding out in the surrounding mountains for "several months". I want to hear that it was Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin Haqqani founder and son of that murderous hive.
The Haqqani network is considered the most dangerous enemy of US troops in eastern Afghanistan. It was founded by Jalaluddin Haqqani and is run by his son, Sirajuddin, both of them designed "global terrorists" by Washington now sworn to kill as many Americans as possible and to even strike America which I do not believe.
The network has been blamed for some of the deadliest anti-US attacks in Afghanistan, including a suicide attack at a US base in the eastern province of Khost in 2009 that killed seven CIA operatives. A total of 17 US drone strikes have now been reported in Pakistan's tribal belt since US Navy SEALs found and killed Osama bin Laden in the army town of Abbottabad on May 2.
Relations between Pakistan and the United States, wary at the best of times, have deteriorated sharply since the killing of UBL and Islamabad has demanded an end to the drone strikes as they usually do but they have benefitted greatly from the attacks so quietly accept them.as a necessary evil.
The bin Laden raid humiliated the Pakistani military and invited allegations of incompetence and complicity, while Washington has increasingly demanded that Islamabad take decisive action against the Haqqanis and other terror networks.US missiles killed six Afghan fighters from the Al-Qaeda-linked Haqqani network in Pakistan's tribal district of Kurram in two strikes just minutes apart on Monday, security officials said.
The Haqqani's and their legendary stature are holding the so called terrorists force together. Their stature is legendary and hard earned.
The Haqqani network and their increasingly foreign fighters have become the main focus after 9 years of fighting. The Haqqani Network's North Waziristan leadership -- usually called the Miram Shah Shura consists of a number of Haqqani family members and closely associated long-serving commanders.
At the top of the network is Sirajuddin Haqqani, who oversees the group's political and military activities and is the main liaison to the Mullah Muhammad Omar led Quetta Shura Taliban, the Taliban's leadership body (named for the capital of Pakistan's Baluchistan province). He is also one of the network's liaisons to Pakistani Taliban figures and al-Qaeda.
He travels regularly into Afghanistan to coordinate with field commanders and occasionally to Peshawar and South Waziristan to connect with militants there. Remember Bowe Bergdhal? There are many field commanders in Afghanistan, but turnover is high because many get killed or captured. The most prominent is Mullah Sangin, who is believed to be holding Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl a captured U.S. soldier and Zakim Shah the movement's shadow governor of Khost province. Inside the Haqqani network
Jalaluddin Haqqani legendary leader who fought the Soviets and his son, Sirajuddin who directs operations are increasingly the targets of drones and now manned NATO aircraft in Pakistan as the Pakistani's have been leery to go in the area for whatever reason. Many are being killed, I heard over 80 in a week with no civilian casualties.
I wish we would quickly kill the Haqqani's, both Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin and leave the rest to Pakistan as our invasion of their country even to kill Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters who were known killers of NATO forces may be the straw that broke the camels back.
I would hate to see this unite the Haqqani network with Pakistan against us as Pakistan is furious and rightly so though it may be a ploy to placate civilians. I wish we would just come home. I do not want to see the scenario I discussed many times and that is taking on Pakistan from the Gulf and don't forget Iran. Damn, Damn, Damn!

Army promotes Taliban captive Bowe Bergdahl to Sergeant
Looks just like his son doesn't he!
Army promotes missing-captured Soldier to sergeant: An Alaska-based soldier from Idaho who has been held captive in the Afghan war for nearly two years has been promoted. The Army on Thursday announced the promotion of Bowe R. Bergdahl from specialist to sergeant.
I think that is great! We have heard that he has become Muslim and sympathetic towards his captors and their cause but I would expect that real or contrived. This is the right thing to do regardless of how this turns out.
Remember when Bergdahl was first captured retired Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters an ex army intelligence officer I have yet to find any proof of combat duty is willing to condemn PFC Bergdahl for desertion. He said if Bergdahl betrayed his fellow soldiers by deserting while in Afghanistan that he would not mind if the Taliban killed him and save the US time and money. I know Peters is a Faux news pundit but I refuse to believe him or anyone there will condemn a fellow American to serve their Political purpose.
I feel for this man, this is Afghanistan not the US. Do you remember the nonsensical rhetoric coming from Fox news? Fox News Contributor Ralph Peters: Taliban Should Kill Captured US ...
Bergdahl was captured June 30th 2009 under what is still unknown circumstances. Two US officials said Bergdahl appears to have just wandered off his post unarmed. I also heard he just wandered into Town to visit Afghani's he thought had befriended him. I also heard he was drunk and wandered off base to be picked up by the Taliban. Also that he was grabbed by civilians and turned over to the Taliban. I am stunned to hear betrayal and desertion even from a Faux pundit.
I mean come on. This is Afghanistan. We are perceived as the invaders the infidels the enemy unwanted in their country. I can not envision anyone being that naive, that anti American that stupid as to go A.W.O.L. in Afghanistan. We heard the horror stories over the years. These people are among the most feared ruthless combatants in the world. Walk into their hands? Come on! Wandering into the Sahara Desert naked would be preferential.
Bergdahl is an American an American soldier an adventurer by those who know him. I refuse to believe he is totally stupid! Faux pundit Peters has an obvious proven pension for murder.A while back I remember him advocating the murder off journalists by our military. Peters calls for military killing of Journalists
I guess they can be thankful they are going to Stateside prisons because in the past he has also advocated killing all the prisoners in Gitmo. I do not have to remind you that many were known to be innocent.
Many people including me want to see Bergdhal rescued first and then find out the truth. Despite the idiocy expressed by Faux news pundits Bergdahl has a lot of Americans very concerned. Capture of US Soldier, 23, Shakes Small Idaho Town
It is bad enough knowing the Taliban have captured him. I really feel for him knowing the Haqanni's have him. They are ruthless! Sirajuddin Haqqani travels regularly into Afghanistan to coordinate with field commanders and occasionally to Peshawar and South Waziristan to connect with militants there.

Gay marriage victory: New York joins Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and New Hampshire
Six states now currently allow same-sex couples to marry. In date order, those states are: Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont and New Hampshire. The District of Columbia also now recognizes gay marriages as of March 3, 2010, we can safely add New York.
I am heterosexual but I am ecstatic States are starting to allow gay marriage. We are all the same like it or not. We all deserve the same rights. We are crossing an important line though and we should. In this instance at least we are outlawing bigotry! I get sick of Republicans saying we must protect the sanctity of marriage. Your marriage is still sanctified. The meaning of marriage will not change for anyone, only those that want the meaning changed for them.
As you know by now, gay marriage is now just a ride away for most New Englander's. Iowa, Vermont and Connecticut have joined Massachusetts in legalizing gay marriage. As the joke goes, hell everyone should be equally miserable.
Those in upper New York went to Canada and those near New York City went to Connecticut or Massachusetts. Now every State can go to New York to get married. I just think this is great! New law clears the way for gay marriage in New York: At New York City's Stonewall Inn, the Greenwich Village pub that spawned the gay rights movement on a June night in 1969, Scott Redstone watched New York pass a historic same-sex marriage law with his partner of 29 years, and popped the question.
Time is not on the side of those against gay marriage. The majority of those under 35 are pro gay marriage. People just want to be left alone.
There is a gathering storm in the Battle over same sex marriage. NOM has mounted a Campaign of lies to convince people that allowing Gays and Lesbians to marry is a danger and a threat to them. Supposedly there is an army of Gay marriage coming to a State near you. People are not going to be flocking tot New York to get married as some fear. Gay marriage will be coming to a State near you and I love it. Just wait!
I do not understand Republicans! Are they so shallow weak and insecure that they are threatened by everything that is counter to what they believe? I do not get it! I am a to each his or her own kind of guy. I could care less what someone else does. I have enough to worry about. I do not believe in forcing others to think and believe what I do. If you like it follow it if not have a nice day. I do not understand Republicans declaring war over everything they disagree with.
I can almost understand being against abortion as Republicans say it is about killing a life. Gay marriage has nothing to do with death so I do not get it. 55% want gay and lesbian marriage legalized and it should be. This is not the most important issue we are facing as Republicans say. It is the economy stupid! We are not redefining marriage. We are being all inclusive.
Let Gays and Lesbians get married and use a justice of the peace not a church. That should satisfy everyone. I am sick of the lame argument that your marriage is under attack. Anyone who feels their marriage will change because of someone else's marriage needs help and should go see a marriage counselor!

Osama bin Laden raid: top 10 discoveries as Mobile phone links Pakistan's ISI to Osama bin Laden courier
Mobile phone links Pakistan's ISI to Osama bin Laden courier: a Brigadier General is held as suspected Islamist and 4 more Officers questioned ?
Mobile phone links Pakistan's ISI to Osama bin Laden courier: a mobile phone recovered during the US raid last month on Osama bin Laden's hideout shows the al-Qaeda leader's closest courier regularly communicated with commanders of a terrorist group linked to Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency, according to American officials.
You know that little tidbit would not have come to light if Pakistan had found that cell phone first. Finding this out is a guarantee that Obama did the right thing by sneaking in unawares to the ISI. For a fact, Osama would have been warned and would have escaped.
Osama bin Laden raid: top 10 discoveries
Brigadier held as suspected Islamist: Major General Athar Abbas, the army spokesman, said Brigadier Ali Khan was believed to be linked to Hizb-ul-Tahrir, an organization that is campaigning for the establishment of an Islamic caliphate.
Pakistan army questions 4 more officers: The Pakistan army says it is questioning four more officers about suspected links with a banned extremist group. The development comes a day after the army said it detained Brig. Ali Khan for suspected ties to Hizb-ut-Tahrir, which has called for officers in the Pakistan army to oust ...
I guess Hizb-ut-Tahrir fell out of favor but I want to hear Pakistan is arresting the connections that have been complicit with the Haqqani's the biggest threat to the US and Afghanistan security. I am interested in the independent Haqqani network "wikipedia"
I remember a week or so ago Pakistan finally admitted publicly that they had rats "informers" in the ISI "the military's interservice intelligence Agency so stupid me thought they were doing a bit of house cleaning. I should have known the connection to terrorism commanders and the Officers so far questioned came from the US.
Call records also revealed UBL had called a number of South Waziristan-based commanders from the militant group Harakat-ul-Mujahideen. We knew some in the ISI were complicit even before 9/11. I thought for sure Pakistan would start cooperating after Bin Laden was killed if only for their own good. Man are we in trouble.

At least a dozen community and social-action groups sponsored a rally calling for an end to the U.S. "war on drugs." as 33 more fall in Mexico
Gang warfare kills 33 in Monterrey, Mexico: Security officials in the northern state of Nuevo Leon, where Monterrey is located, said most of those killed had links to the country's drug cartels.
Rally against war on drugs: At least a dozen community and social-action groups sponsored a rally calling for an end to the U.S. "war on drugs." It marked the 40th anniversary of the declaration by then-President Richard Nixon.
A report compiled by the Global Commission on Drug Policy, which includes former heads of state, a former U.N. secretary-general and a business mogul, the report calls on governments to end the criminalization of marijuana and other controlled substances. Report: 'The Drug War Has Failed' Bingo! Wow think about what this would mean to the US, Mexico, the entire world, violence, terrorism, everything. Wow!
Our 100 year drug war is tearing Mexico apart but unlike us I think they can win it! After 40 years the front line is now the entire US covering every State and all of Mexico. It has now engulfed and is endangering the very being of Mexico as a country and safety for its citizens. However this is not Nixon's 40 year drug war but the US 100 year drug war and we are losing.
With our 100 year drug war and guns being purchased here and sent to Mexico then drugs being sent here feeding this drug war. This has not spilled over from Mexico it has spilled over from the US. That said, I think it is great that the cartels are killing each other over drug routes but I do not like civilians endangered. I would rather there be no drug routes and no problem. I just wish it was possible for the drug runners to eradicate themselves.
I reiterate: eastern California, southern Arizona and New Mexico are clamping down and National Guard troops are now involved! With 560 kidnapped last year Phoenix has become the kidnap capitol of the US! The cartels now operate in every State in America. With a reported 100,000 foot soldiers many of them trained military soldiers who have deserted to fight on the more lucrative side this is a formidable force! What about the Mexico mafia?
We keep hearing that Mexico's war on drugs is spilling over into the US. Now Congress is meeting about it. We even had National Guard troops called to help because Mexico's drug war has endangered Border States. Weapons are being purchased from gun dealers around the United States and being smuggled into Mexico to be used by the Drug cartels to fight Mexico's military in fighting Mexico's drug war. I have a few questions for our brain dead Politicians as they are once again in denial!
First I want to say when you work with the US you are taking on a lot of trouble. Anyway if I remember correctly our authorities have bragged for years that they are fighting a war against drugs! war on drugs the price tag, updated for 2011 It is $4 trillion by now, America can not afford a war on Drugs and neither can the world, end it!
We know they do not but you want to say don't they ever think? They are purposely feeding the violence on the border they are supposedly very concerned about? If you buy marijuana in the US you are fueling the cartel drug wars in Mexico. Are they doing this on purpose? Last year there was 7,000 killed there. So far this year thousands more have been added to those Butchered, beheaded, murdered, for what? Juarez, New Mexico on the Border with El Paso, Texas is a battle zone. It is the hot spot in the cartel's fight for smuggling routes. The drug cartels and those officers and military not bought off by the cartels are in a full blown war.
Of course there are big fears of our drug war that spilled South to Mexico now spilling back to our side of the Border as violence and it is happening The violence is only there and fed by our insatiable hunger for marijuana and other drugs. We can end this! We can control the border as we still are not and put our military on the border. That is where they should be not on 733 US bases around the world.
Forget poor Mexico, forget Nixon's 40 year war on drugs, end America's Own 100 Year Failed War on Drugs!
We have been fighting a self professed war on Drugs for one hundred years! I wish someone would be able to figure out at what cost. It seems to me that the drug war has spilled over the Border with Mexico. However it went north to south. It is our drug war that has spilled into Mexico. It is us that have made Mexico the narco State it is. I do believe we should at least put American military on the border and do not really understand why it is not. That would go a long way in stopping the problem so I do not understand why they are not on the Border unless it is because a certain political interest still does not want the border secured to enable illegal immigration? Why else? A desire to keep this war going? For gain? of what?
I do believe we can end this! Put our National Guard on the Border in shifts! After I got out of the military I joined the reserves. I do not know how it works today because our troops are flat out. Besides one week end a month we use to be required to do 2 weeks as a unit somewhere to train. With 50 States they could all do their required 2 weeks on the border doing one thing or the other. The other half of the equation:
Legalize marijuana at least then if it works follow with the rest! That would kill much of the incentive for Cartels to be waging a war on drugs. Yes there is cocaine heroine and other drugs but marijuana is America's number one cash crop! That blew me away. According to official Government figures The value of the annual harvest exceeds that of corn, soybeans, or hay, the country's top three legal cash crops with an annual crop value of $35 Billion. There have been an estimated 100 million pot plants destroyed between 1981 and 2006 yet production has still increased 10 fold to 22 million pounds!
Legalize it, secure the border! Just imagine what it would be if it was legalized. Regulate it like alcohol, sell it in package stores! Tax it! Look at the potential revenue. Legalizing marijuana would end a hell of a lot of problems and create exactly zero! Think about it! The number one abused drug in the world is legal, Alcohol! It destroys numerous lives! What sane argument is there against legalization? None, none whatsoever! All we are doing with this insane war on drugs is driving people and not just kids to experiment and find a legal way to get high with common household products. We are only making the problem exponentially worse. END IT! LEGALIZE!
With the state of the worlds economy I think ending this loser of a war on drugs is doable. The world has shown that it can come together when it has to. We can do this! We can figure out a way to turn this into a win, win for us and a loser for all those gaining illicitly from the illegal drug trade.

Afghanistan says its army ready for US drawdown: You will have a chance to prove it
Afghanistan says its army ready for US drawdown: Afghanistan's NATO-trained military is ready to take responsibility for fighting Taliban insurgents and securing key parts of the country that will be the first to transition as the U.S. begins a troop draw down in July, the Defense Ministry said Wednesday.
They say an American departure by 2014 poses enormous risks for the United States but once again I beg to differ. Karzai's Government will not stand on it's own any way you look at it. It is not an enormous risk for us it is an enormous risk for Karzai. I hope we leave by 2014 and do not stay for decades as some expect. U.S. Afghan presence may last for decades:
At any rate we must leave by 2014 and at that point rely exclusively on drones to watch the Pakistan Afghanistan border and report to Pakistan and Afghanistan as to what we see. Any US bombing and presence should be from the drones as should have been the case from day one. We are right on and then some and so isn't Obama
Give the Taliban what they want and speed the pullout up. That will work for me if they would cooperate and stop raising hell until we left and then blow open Afghanistan as will be the case whether we stay or leave. Obama increased troop strength by 35000 for the surge. If it is working so well pull them out but made up of back up troops not combatants we will need if this turns.
Our soldiers did their jobs there meritoriously! Get them out now with their heads held high instead of hung low for joining unnecessarily Afghanistan's graveyard of nations. We are kind of stuck but we should give Karzai supplies to feed and arm his fighting forces otherwise let him use his families drug money, we should make a quicker exit by leaving most of our trucks and supplies behind but hell the Taliban will get them as well as the country anyway.
We are stuck between a rock and a hard place and it was unnecessary. We could have used drones exclusively and stayed out of Afghanistan in the first place. We are on the Pakistan Afghanistan border right where the Taliban want us, If you have not yet give a quick look at "the Taliban get their first wish We have due to our arrogance and ignorance I would have to assume walked or should I say flew right into their trap at this point I am not sure we have a realistic choice.
Many Muslims believe that ancient Khorasan which covers parts of modern-day Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan is the promised land from where they will secure the first victory in the end-of-time battle in which the final round, according to their beliefs, will be fought in Palestine-Lebanon-Syria. They are not desperate they are giddy this is finally under way!
Because of our secret plans to grab and secure Pakistan's mobile nuclear weapons I long ago came to the conclusion that securing them and the plan along the Afghanistan Pakistan Border to take out the Taliban when given the go ahead is the reason we are hanging around in Afghanistan.
That is more than enough reason. Just imagine the peril of the world if Pakistan's nukes fell into the hands of the Taliban and other extremists. The entire world better come together and realize their very being is under threat here and they all must come together and do their share. What say you?

U.S. Afghan presence may last for decades: WTF is wrong with us?
U.S. Afghan presence may last for decades: Secret talks about long-term Afghan security are likely to lead to U.S. troops, spies and air power staying in Afghanistan for decades, U.S. officials said. The U.S.-Afghan talks, which began more than a month ago, are intended to create a strategic partnership that would keep us there far beyond our exit date of 2014 Big mistake! I thought we were not occupiers? What about staying indefinitely in Afghanistan? Also staying in Iraq indefinitely?
I am stunned! Knowing that Afghanistan will never have a central Government once we remove our Billions of dollars and our military. They are frigging tribal, they don't want a central Government Karzai does in order to gain our support and our money. We know the Taliban want us out as soon as possible. WTF are we doing especially at this critical time saying we will be there for decades? WTF is wrong with us? We just had this discussion yesterday in regard to hanging around in Iraq indefinitely. We are major war mongers. These countries will never hold together period!
We have to get the hell out of there now not asking for more terrorism and fighting by saying we will be there for decades. WTF is wrong with us?

We are on the Pakistan Afghanistan border right where the Taliban want us, If you have not yet give a quick look at "the Taliban get their first wish We have due to our arrogance and ignorance I would have to assume walked or should I say flew right into their trap at this point I am not sure we have a realistic choice..

Iraq 'to request' US troops stay after 2011: Custer's last stand redux is setting up in Iraq despite all warnings
Iraq 'to request' US troops stay after 2011 - Panetta Here we come "Custer's last stand"
Iraq Shiite group claims attack on US troops: A Shiite militia group in Iraq says it is responsible for a deadly attack earlier this week that killed five American troops. If we do stay we have long been warned and I smell a set up by the Iran leaning Shiite Government. This is a microcosm of the Custer's last stand if we stay in Iraq beyond this year that I have been warning about for years now.
What a surprise the Iranian-backed group Kataib Hezbollah that took credit for the recent killing of our 5 soldiers is one of three main Shiite militias operating in Iraq. Another as you know is Muqtqda Al Sadr's Mehdi army also backed by Iran, all are staunchly against the American military presence in Iraq and have vowed to oppose any move for U.S. troops to stay past their expected Dec. 31 departure date.
Iraq's fiery anti-American cleric Moqtada al-Sadr will "escalate military resistance" and unleash his Mehdi Army militia if U.S. troops fail to leave Iraq as scheduled this year, his aides said on Saturday. These are not Idle threats! What are we frigging stupid or just asking for it?
If we don't leave Iraq in 2011 it will be Custer's last stand on a grand scale period: I hate to say it but that appears to be our goal, perpetual war wherever we can find it.
If you have been following my line of thought on this illegal war in Iraq you know civil war was guaranteed from day one when Bush ignored the warning and why. Many of you will agree it is coming soon and it is inevitable. The Kurd's want us there to protect their free Kurdistan which will be over when we are gone.
The Sunni want us to stay in order to protect them from Shiite violence they feel is backed by Iran. Incidentally you can bet if not now Saudi Arabia will be helping the Sunni. Well what a surprise huh?
Meanwhile right from day one of his return Muqtada Al-sadr told his people to fight the American's any way they can till we leave in 2011. I don't think that will be the result of it but knowing the army is largely Shiite I have to believe the two soldiers were doing his bidding and my worst fears about Iraq and the middle east are coming true.
I have to reiterate something I have said too many times since Bush chose to ignore all warnings of total civil war spreading throughout the entire Middle East so he could attack Iraq and straighten out the Middle East as God spoke to him and instructed him to. You know I firmly believe and have said so a million times by now that since 9/11 everything was construed to allow Bush to gain the power he needed to prosecute his new order not just in the Middle East but on the entire world! He diverted from Afghanistan to get back into the Middle East with the goal of setting up a larger safety zone for Israel and going after Iran.
Bush has created a hell on earth for Iraq that he calls liberty and success with promises to spread it throughout the entire Middle East. He has long wanted a Korea style force in Iraq to secure the peace! We were concerned because we knew that would never work in Iraq or the Middle East! Planting our military in the middle of the mess Bush has created out of the Middle East because of his failed Democratization program would be a Custer's Last Stand on a grand scale!
I still see a total civil war Sunni against Shiite erupting in the Middle East because Bush freed up Iran to instigate it on their end and they are. I still am concerned we will have a permanent presence in the Middle East but feel we will have to largely leave Iraq to her own demise. We will still be there but it looks like Yemen, and the Gulf of Aden will be the prime focus unless Iran gets something going between the US and Iran.
As you know, I talk about it often as I watch Bush's new Middle East (dis)order progress. He ignored Afghanistan so he could use the patriot acts powers to divert from Afghanistan to attack Iraq using the excuse of unseating Saddam so he could get in the Middle East to help Israel establish a buffer zone and establish a new middle east (dis) order or so Israel and Cheney thought. Bush at Cheney's urging made an abrupt shift in policy towards Syria, a shift that has now brought the entire Mideast region to the brink of war and chaos. Much worse than the hell on earth they created for Iraq. Did you ever read A clean Break
That plan was put together in 1996 for Israel. They were just waiting for an idiot to come along so they could implement their plan for the Middle East. Along came the life long follower and life long alcoholic loser Georgie Bush. I wish I could say the rest is History but this is still barely beginning and just beginning to take shape. All Bush did by ignoring Afghanistan and attacking Iraq was to guarantee a loss of everything and a complete Middle East and Asian Breakdown.
He freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.
The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!
Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran!
What about the Kurds who want their autonomy and they do not want to share their oil fields period. Nuri Al-Maliki wants that issue resolved and it will never be. The entire middle east and north Africa and our more than century of interference and exploitation can take the blame for that too.
Bush has created a hell on earth for Iraq that he still calls liberty and success with promises to spread it throughout the entire Middle East Sunni against Shiite. Bush had long wanted a Korea style force in Iraq to secure the peace! That will never work in Iraq or the Middle East! Planting our military in the middle of the mess Bush has created out of the Middle East because of his failed Democratization program is going to be a Custer's Last Stand on a grand scale if we are still there when this breaks open! Looking at the war cabinet Obama has amassed I am going to say at this point that this is going to happen even under a President Obama. Watch out Iran!

Major attack on Iraq's Government just the beginning of Bush's guaranteed civil war and us right in the middle
9 dead after gunmen assault Iraq govt: Assailants launched a complex strike on a government compound northeast of the capital Tuesday, setting off a suicide car bomb outside and then breaching the building's perimeter. Nine people were killed, including at least three of the attackers.
I should no longer be surprised at our warmongering but I am just stupefied at what I hear every day. We have got to be asking for more war. I am stupefied, it is not just Iraq, it seems to be anything we can instigate. I can't frigging believe it but that is another conversation. I started writing about our reasons for being at and or going to war in regard to Bush attacking Iraq. Now it seems to be every country coming down the pike. Last was Libya! 235 years of war: America Living to fight or fighting to live?
Anyway, these attacks are very disconcerting as we know this civil war is going to get going full scale if and when we leave. Now we know we have no intention of leaving and are looking at being there permanently or so we think as I have been discussing for years in my discussions of Iraq being Custer's last stand on steroids. We know the attacks are to get us out but this attack is against the Government. Lately we have been hearing about the increasing attacks by Shiite elements (Iran) but this is Sunni (Saudi Arabia).
We know this is going to erupt full scale and I am sickened that we are looking to stay in the middle of it. If you have been following my line of thought on this illegal war in Iraq you know civil war was guaranteed from day one when Bush ignored the warning and why. Many of you will agree it is coming soon and it is inevitable. The Kurd's want us there to protect their free Kurdistan which will be over when we are gone.

US weighs separating Al Qaeda from the Taliban, about time!
Suspected US Missile Strikes Kill at Least 20 in Pakistani Tribal Region That was the 32nd this year and since this is an area for marshaling Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters for both Pakistan and Afghanistan we have heard none of the usual claims of civilian casualties.
I am pretty happy to hear that they are now concentrating on the traditional Haqqani areas in North and South Waziristan and hope to hear that at least some of them were killed. This would be big for both Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the US. Kill the Haqqani's wherever they are as they have vowed to kill us period. kill them and then we can get out of Afghanistan as scheduled and watch the border area with drones.
At this point it is right for us to treat Al Qaeda and the Taliban differently. Al Qaeda took down the towers not the Taliban. The Taliban are indigenous to Afghanistan you are not going to remove them. Making inroads in Afghanistan: U.S. troops work to establish ties in new corner of Taliban stronghold I am psyched we appear to be succeeding where others have failed!
UN weighs splitting Taliban, al-Qaida: The U.N. says it might remove the Afghan Taliban from the terrorism blacklist that includes al-Qaida. Taliban figures would be on a separate list. The move could be seen as a political gesture to promote peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban hierarchy Super good move! Now let's start the long quiet withdrawal.
We are on track for success we really are but we have to kill the Haqqani's and get out as scheduled or quicker. Afghanistan will be bankrupt and in civil war as soon as we leave anyway.
The Haqqani's and their legendary stature are holding the so called terrorists force together. Their stature is legendary and hard earned. The Haqqani network and their increasingly foreign fighters have become the main focus after 10 years of fighting.
We are getting closer to Sirajuddin and many of his now increasingly foreign fighters are falling victim to our increasing drone attacks while they try to form. I say great now get the Haqqani's so we cn close up and go home and leave Afghanistan to her own demise.
Sirajuddin still travels regularly into Afghanistan to coordinate with field commanders and occasionally to Peshawar and South Waziristan to connect with militants there.
Pakistan and the ISI increasingly turning on some of these tribes are helping us kill leaders and getting ready to go into North Waziristan. That should be fruitful and interesting heightened as long as we watch from the drones.
I wish we would quickly kill the Haqqani's, both Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin and leave the rest to Pakistan. Afghanistan is going to fall apart anyway as they are tribal whether we like it or not unless the Karzai family can hold it together with their drug money.

Being close to Osama Bin Laden will be your death
Somalia kills Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, widening Al Qaeda power vacuum: Somali forces confirmed that they have killed Al Qaeda’s most senior operative in East Africa: Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, who planned the 1998 US embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanazania. The announcement comes as a blow to the terrorist organization, which has lost three of its top leaders in recent weeks, including Osama bin Laden. Al Shabab confirmed his death on condition of anonymity and good for us I also read that they found $40,000 and a number of cell phones on his body. Very good more trails to follow!
Death of Bin Laden Does Not Mean Demise of Al Qaeda They say his death is symbolic and it is but for us not Al Qaeda, the Taliban, or any of the other extremists looking for a reason to fight the west. That said, it will hit them psychologically.
The US is still celebrating, this is frigging great! Justice is done however because of the extremists with nothing better to do than to fight the west and feed and continue UBL's personal vendetta violence has more than the potential of increasing in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and around the world.!
Rebels looking for a reason to fight now have another but since he betrayed Islam for his personnel fight against the west killing his own people I believe justice has been served with this major source of evil being killed and Muslims around the world will be breathing a sigh of relief. I bet that like after 9/11 the event of Bin Laden's death will have people flocking to enlist in the military.
That said Just hold on because increased violence in his name will ensue. Right after Osama Bin Laden's killing as a result of all the Intel found as his hard drives and 12 thumb drives laden with information the US right away want after Anwar Al- Awlaki with a drone attack in Yemen but missed him.
In quick succession we got UBL, Top killer Kashmiri was killed by a US drone Great! He was wanted by India, Pakistan, and the US and had $5 million on his head. He fell out of favor with the ISI. Hmm?
Also Somali forces confirmed that they have killed Al Qaeda’s most senior operative in East Africa: Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, who planned the 1998 US embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanazania. Every time we kill one of Al Qaeda's or the Taliban's top leaders of course we are greeted with threats of retribution. You know what they say about payback. Pay back is a mother f&%ker. We are in a race now more than ever. As you know, this vendetta against the west called terrorism is the head of the hydra. Kill one and many more take their place.
We have to continue to kill them quicker than they can recover but when it is all said and done you may not have one central leader but now hundreds of thousands or millions of disenfranchised extremists operating on their own. Maybe they are not able to pull off the big fabulous hits but they can the small ones and disrupt and terrorize our daily lives. That is why it is called terrorism! Remain vigilant.

Taliban bombs Kill at Least 21 in Afghanistan 15 from one family and Karzai warns Nato against strikes?
Taliban's offensive to destabilise region: In the past six weeks, more than 200 Afghan civilians have been killed and hundreds more wounded in a series of brutal suicide bombings, gun battles and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks across the country When are those people going to get the message and wake up?
Bombs Kill at Least 21 in Afghanistan When are they going to get it? The Taliban are killing more civilians than ever hoping to get in control of them to kill and maim even more as they were before we attacked. Those civilians better realize that and take it upon themselves to start betraying and fighting the Taliban
Sixteen members from one family die in Taliban bomb
Karzai issues Nato strike warning Please do us a favor and kick us out. We can go home and monitor Afghanistan with drones taking out targets as necessary as we should have done in the first place. We could have saved thousands of lives and trillions of dollars. Please send us home where we should be!
I think we should give Karzai what he wants and stop night raids under a precondition. Asking us to stop drone attacks and now to stop night attacks and attacks on homes where the Taliban are hiding behind civilians is asking us to fail. Fine, we are not wanted there and are in the wrong country anyway. We should pull out of the cities and see what Karzai can do for a start or should I say the beginning of the end for him.
While we are at it we should stop giving the master of corruption the Billion dollars a day we are giving him and see how he does with his drug money. I have not heard anything about the pullout that was supposed to start this month and culminate in 2014. Give Karzai what he wants, give the Taliban what they want and speed the pullout up. That will work for me if they would cooperate and stop raising hell until we lift and then blow open Afghanistan as will be the case whether we stay or leave.
Despite occasional spineless blows in both Pakistan and Afghanistan on mainly innocent men women and children they are supposedly fighting for but are killing so as to cower and gain control of, we are making headway and it is time to quietly fade away. Our men and women have done their job.Let them come home with their heads held high. Despite expected occasional setbacks and victories for the Taliban this just keeps getting better and better:
No. 2, Zawahri, Takes Control of Al Qaeda as the US vows to kill him: Check out Al Qaeda's remaining victims I mean leaders: How will Zawahri get his?
U.S. judge dismisses charges against bin Laden
Bin Laden’s No. 2, Zawahri, Takes Control: Ayman al-Zawahri, 59, is taking over the leadership of the organization, jihadist Web sites reported Thursday, less than two months after Osama bin Laden was killed. I have to laugh! That has to be why Pakistan and the ISI are so furious at not being able to protect the old number one Osama Bin Laden.
They are after us, kicking us out and further hamstring us so we can not get the Haqqani's, mullah, omar Ayman Zawahri or any of the other leaders. They are protecting them and Zawahri took the lead position because other potential leaders are moving around, feeling threatened, and Zawahri feels he is the safest beat to come out. Not to worry we will get him!
Al-Qaeda's remaining leaders

Knowing they face dedicated Syrian and Iranian murderers Syrian protesters are the bravest in the middle east
Tens of thousands of protesters poured into the streets of Damascus’s suburbs and three of Syria’s five largest cities on Friday, in a weekly show of defiance against President Bashar al-Assad. Activists said at least 19 people were killed.
I know the protesters vowed not to be deterred stating they will break the Government period but there is no way. The Syrian Government will kill and arrest who they have too. Iran will accept nothing less and they "the IRG" are in charge!
I remember the Syrian opposition saying that they would not stop and would ultimately defeat the Government saying Democratic transition would safeguard Syria from violence. As outsiders looking in we know nothing could be further from the truth. People are being imprisoned and murdered and I can not see that stopping until the Democracy movement is crushed. Supposedly this expected situation is begging for us to get involved but we damn well better not. Unless that is going to war with Iran is the goal.
Those of you that follow me know going after Iran is why Bush lied to get to attack Iraq and get back into the Middle East. Iran is helping Syria, us helping the protesters is exactly what Iran wants so they can bring out in the open the war against the United States.
As expected this democratization started by Bush has taken on a life of its own.
Saddam Hussein with his lies about possessing WMD kept Iran in check. Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with their chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.
Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran!
The entire middle east and north Africa and our more than century of interference and exploitation can take the blame for that too.
Actually Russia, China and Lebanon have blocked a move for the UN Security Council to condemn Syria's crackdown on dissent. Sanctioning slaughter is more like it!
You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria especially. Iran is not going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy,Iran is in Syria helping Bashar Assad. What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it. The total middle east breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

Libyan rebels head to Tripoli behind Nato as Canada joins recognition states and Tunisia threatens to as Russia and China tell us to back off
Whispers in Tripoli: Opposition activists in government-controlled Libya have told the BBC that Col Muammar Gaddafi is more unpopular than ever but is clinging on to power through intimidation and murder.
Analysis: Gaddafi losing friends and influence in Africa: Muammar Gaddafi is losing friends in Africa, the continent where his largesse once bought him the title "King of Kings" but which is now turning to other foreign allies to help shape its future. Moves by countries including Senegal, Mauritania, Liberia, Chad and Gambia to distance themselves from Gaddafi are partly a gamble that NATO-backed rebels will finally succeed in ending his four decades of authoritarian and quixotic rule.
Libyan Rebels Advance West Towards Tripoli: Libyan rebels have advanced beyond their western stronghold of Misratah towards the capital Tripoli where Nato have resumed their airstrikes.
Libya: Area near Gadhafi compound struck in raid: Hours after NATO airstrikes pounded the area near Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's compound again before dawn Thursday, Russia's envoy to Libya turned up at a bombing site while on a visit to Tripoli for talks on ending the civil war.
Russia, China warn West on Arab states: RUSSIA and China oppose outside interference in the unrest in the Arab world, the two presidents said in a declaration. I find it interesting that Russia and China of all people say any change should come from Democratic reform. What is that a call to revolution to be suppressed by the dictators? We really better drop a bunker buster on him and go home!
British officials say they have finally hit the point where they are considering sending so-called "bunker-buster" weapons, capable of destroying underground shelters in which Gaddafi and his family might be hiding. They should have done that on day one! Do it and in a mass attack of every site he may be at whether he is shielded by civilians or not. If they are stupid enough to be around Gaddafi they have made themselves targets.
I just want to end our commitment and head home where we should be. We have enough to do and Yemen and the Gulf of Aden the next front in the so called war on terror are heating up as we speak and getting reads to explode.
