US soldier freed from captivity in Afghanistan:According to a senior defense official traveling with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel in Singapore, once Bergdahl climbed onto the noisy helicopter he took a pen and wrote on a paper plate, the "SF?" - asking the troops if they were special operations forces. They shouted back at him over the roar of the rotors:

 "Yes, we've been looking for you for a long time." Then, according to the official, Bergdahl broke down. Bergdahl, of Hailey, Idaho, is believed to have been held by the Haqqani network since June 30, 2009. Bakhretdin Khakimov, now in his early 50s, had been living under name of Sheikh Abdullah and working as a healer: A Soviet soldier who disappeared more than 30 years ago on the battlefield in Afghanistan has been found alive and well and living under the name of Sheikh Abdullah in the western Afghan city of Herat. 

Russian officials attempting to trace soldiers still missing from the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan said they had discovered Bakhretdin Khakimov, last seen in September 1980. Khakimov - then aged 20 - had been serving with the 101st motorised rifle unit, stationed near Herat. He was seriously wounded during a battle near the city and presumed dead.

Hearing this Made me instantly think of our own MIA soldier Bowe Bergdahl.

US suspects Haqqani tie to Afghan insider attacks: Until now, officials had said the attacks seemed to stem either from personal grievances against the allies or from Taliban infiltration. The Taliban has publicly claimed to be orchestrating the campaign to subvert the U.S.-Afghan alliance.New data provided to The Associated Press this week also reveal that in addition to 35 U.S. and allied troops killed in insider attacks last year, 61 were wounded.

Those included 19 in a single attack in the eastern province of Laghman on April 16, 2011, in which six American servicemen were killed. Thus far in 2012 there have been 53 killed and at least 80 wounded, the figures showed. Haqqani involvement in the plotting would add a new dimension to that group's insurgent activity, which has been marked largely by spectacular attacks against targets inside Kabul. Haqqani leaders have pledged allegiance to Taliban leader Mullah Omar, but the group largely operates independently. The two groups have a shared interest in evicting foreign forces.

It's about time! Jalaluddin Haqqani legendary leader who fought the Soviets and his son, Sirajuddin  hate the fact that infidells are on their land and of course have openly vowed to attack and kill as many as possible until we leave. They have been the ones behind all the attacks on bases ans government buildings and have admitted it.

It is only common sense that they are behind the recent spate of attacks on NATO trainers by so called rogue Afghani's. We have essentially brought all segments against us leaving peacefully and forming a Government to their knees with the exception of the Haqqani's who have lost many fighters and top commanders including recently Badruddin another son of Jalaluddin.

That is not enough though. In order to stop the Haqqani network we are going to have to take out the top. We know some in the ISI, military, and Government have been complicit with them since the Soviets wee in Afghanistan so they know where they are.

Haqqani 101: With the death of Osama Bin Laden we were asked what his death would mean for the war in Afghanistan. Like the so called war on terror which includes the Taliban, Al Qaeda of every creed, and extremists of every ilk looking to carry on Osama's vendetta against the west, it will serve to fuel their cause like many other issues. His death should mean just the opposite and it does to all true Muslims.

In searching though I found them to be known rapists and murderers and of course not true Muslims or faithful followers of Muhammad and true Islam. Some of the Haqqani's and commanders have even been captured and held after traveling to Saudi Arabia for the haj and gathering donations for their cause.

At the top of the network is Sirajuddin Haqqani, who oversees the group's political and military activities and is the main liaison to the Mullah Muhammad Omar led Quetta Shura Taliban, the Taliban's leadership body (named for the capital of Pakistan's Baluchistan province). He is also one of the network's liaisons to Pakistani Taliban figures and AL-Qaeda.

Jalaluddin Haqqani legendary leader who fought the Soviets and his son, Sirajuddin who directs operations are increasingly the targets of drones and now manned NATO aircraft in Pakistan as the Pakistani's have been leery to go in the area for whatever reason. Many are being killed, I heard over 80 in a week with no civilian casualties.

I wish we would quickly kill the two head Haqqani's, both Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin and leave the rest to Pakistan as our invasion of their country even to kill Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters who were known killers of NATO forces may be the straw that broke the camels back. People in Pakistan are increasinglyy marching to have the drone attacks stopped. Fine! If you want the drones stopped then stop the Haqqani's. We know someone there can kill or stop them at will.

I would hate to see the Haqqani network unite with Pakistan " who they once had close ties with particularly the ISI", against us as Pakistan is still furious and rightly so though it may be a ploy to placate civilians. I wish we would just come home. I do not want to see the scenario I discussed many times and that is taking on Pakistan from the Gulf and don't forget Iran!

Anyway you look at it we are viewed as temporary and the violent convoluted backstabbing tribal relationships will always be a way of life in the border area especially. We can only be very concerned how this is going to turn out between NATO, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. It won't be translucent or good!

The Haqqani's seem true to Mullah Omar who wants us out of Afghanistan and want their independent Afghanistan. Pakistan has proven they do not want a free and independent Afghanistan but want to control it. At this point I want to say our soldiers have done their job let them come home as scheduled if not sooner. Let Mullah Omar the Haqqani's and other Taliban interests fight for Afghanistan it is theirs not ours or Pakistan's. Good luck Hamid Karzai that's all I say!

I also heard he just wandered into Town to visit Afghani's he thought had befriended him. I also heard he was drunk and wandered off base to be picked up by the Taliban. Also that he was grabbed by civilians and turned over to the Taliban. I am stunned to hear betrayal and desertion even from a Faux pundit.

Sirajuddin Haqqani travels regularly into Afghanistan to coordinate with field commanders and occasionally to Peshawar and South Waziristan to connect with militants there.

US weighs separating Al Qaeda from the Taliban, about time!

At least 20 terrorists were reportedly killed in separate drone attacks in North and South Waziristan on Wednesday. This was the second time last week that the unmanned drones were used there.

Suspected US Missile Strikes Kill at Least 20 in Pakistani Tribal Region That was the 32nd this year and since this is an area for marshaling Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters for both Pakistan and Afghanistan we have heard none of the usual claims of civilian casualties.

I am pretty happy to hear that they are now concentrating on the traditional Haqqani areas in North and South Waziristan and hope to hear that at least some of them were killed. This would be big for both Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the US. Kill the Haqqani's wherever they are as they have vowed to kill us period. kill them and then we can get out of Afghanistan as scheduled and watch the border area with drones.

At this point it is right for us to treat Al Qaeda and the Taliban differently. Al Qaeda took down the towers not the Taliban. The Taliban are indigenous to Afghanistan you are not going to remove them.  We are on track for success we really are but we have to kill the Haqqani's and get out as scheduled or quicker. Afghanistan will be bankrupt and in civil war as soon as we leave anyway.

The Haqqani's and their legendary stature are holding the so called terrorists force together. Their stature is legendary and hard earned. The Haqqani network and their increasingly foreign fighters have become the main focus after 10 years of fighting. The Haqqani Network's North Waziristan leadership -- usually called the Miram Shah Shura consists of a number of Haqqani family members and closely associated long-serving commanders.


At the top of the network is Sirajuddin Haqqani, who oversees the group's political and military activities and is the main liaison to the Mullah Muhammad Omar led Quetta Shura Taliban, the Taliban's leadership body (named for the capital of Pakistan's Baluchistan province). He is also one of the network's liaisons to Pakistani Taliban figures and al-Qaeda. We are getting closer to Sirajuddin and many of his now increasingly foreign fighters are falling victim to our increasing drone attacks while they try to form. I say great now get the Haqqani's so we cn close up and go home and leave Afghanistan to her own demise.


Sirajuddin still travels regularly into Afghanistan to coordinate with field commanders and occasionally to Peshawar and South Waziristan to connect with militants there. Remember Bowe Bergdhal? There are many field commanders in Afghanistan, but turnover is high because many get killed or captured. The most prominent is Mullah Sangin, who is believed to be holding Pfc. Jalaluddin Haqqani legendary leader who fought the Soviets and his son, Sirajuddin who directs operations are increasingly the targets of drones and now manned NATO aircraft in Pakistan as the Pakistani's have been leery to go in the area for whatever reason. Many are being killed, I heard over 80 in a week with no civilian casualties. Pakistan and the ISI increasingly turning on some of these tribes are helping us kill leaders and getting ready to go into North Waziristan. That should be fruitful and interesting heightened as long as we watch from the drones.


I wish we would quickly kill the Haqqani's, both Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin and leave the rest to Pakistan. Afghanistan is going to fall apart anyway as they are tribal whether we like it or not unless the Karzai family can hold it together with their drug money.
