Q&A: Iran nuclear issue

This is the most comprehensive list of stories I have seen period involving Iran's nuclear program and efforts to stop it. Of course they do not come from the US but are compiled by the BBC. There are some very important facts once again never mentioned so I will supply the links, peruse them, and click on the ones you are interested in. At the end of the list of the links I will supply the beginning and the end to Iran's nuclear issue.

We gave Iran their start in the fifties they are not going to stop and we will not know where they are till they possess a nuke.

We gave Iran their start in the fifties and once Khomenei returned from exile their efforts to control the middle east and develop nuclear power and weapons began in earnest. As you know, when asked by a journalist how he felt upon returning to Iran in 1979 after 15 years in exile. Khomeini’s curt, one-word reply was “nothing” Whoa! From day one of his return to Iran Khomeini expressed no love for Iran only a love of the atom bomb. The drive even then was to possess a nuclear weapon though that desire is still denied until Iran can get their hands on one.

I have tried to give Iran the benefit of the doubt when they say their nuclear desires are peaceful knowing they could use nuclear power as an energy source for their growing population. I have always asserted that perceived need could be cover for the real goal of developing a nuclear weapon.

The nuclear program of Iran was launched in the 1950s with the help of the United States as part of the Atoms for Peace program. The support, encouragement and participation of the United States and Western European governments in Iran's nuclear program continued until the 1979 Islamic revolution that toppled the Shah of Iran. We are so concerned about Pakistan and Iran today in regard to nuclear abilities and nuclear weapons and security. I was blown away to find out that we built the first nuclear Reactors in both Iran and Pakistan. Nuclear program of Iran - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia atoms for peace

I would have to assume this was after we overthrew the democratically elected President of Iran Mohammad Mosaddeq to install our ruthless puppet the Shah of Iran. We built and supplied Iran's first reactor because we thought we were in control. What the hell is wrong with us? That makes us personally responsible for the 1979 Revolution in Iran, the capture of our hostages, the disaster in the desert after a failed attempt to rescue them, the rise of the Revolutionary Guard, the protesters dilemma, the nuclear issue in Iran today, everything!

You know from numerous discussions here that Iran is involved in every Middle Eastern country not just Yemen, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia where they have corrupted elections for Shiite interests in Iraq, backing rebels in Yemen, and instigating attacks on Saudi oil fields. Bush freed Iran to instigate far and wide and are even training Taliban on their border. Any new actions will only serve to worsen their instigation and cause them to cause chaos everywhere they can and further Bush's total Middle East breakdown Period.

You know, I have long said that Iran’s civilian nuclear program is a cover for their nuclear weapons program. They have been working at this for over 60 years nobody can seriously think anything can stop them without direct confrontation after they have gone this far. That would mean war whether it's Russia, the US or China. All we can hope for is that it is kept limited and not allowed to develop into WW3.

It’s difficult to know for sure Iran’s real intentions regarding nuclear capabilities. The difference between becoming a nuclear armed state and stopping with mere nuclear capabilities are important to understand. Gareth Evans gives many reasons as to why Iran would not pursue weapons after attaining nuclear capabilities. Check out what he has to say here: http://www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/evans2/English

I think Iran knows that some time in this century their oil will run out. Then what will they use for power? Solar power will only get them so far. They would then be reliant on imports and the whims of other nations.

Thanks Sarah I'll check that out. Believe it or not we gave them their start along with Pakistan in a program called Atoms for peace. They do have valid reasons to have it but they have violent reasons too and those will be followed.

Yeah it is Demeur and it bothered me that Bush knew it and never said anything. Bottom line I still think Iran's peaceful program is a cover for their real desire of a nuclear weapon.

If I were Iran I would be developing a nuke. They saw what happened to their neighbor and partner in the "axis of evil" accusation from Bush. It is their best defense against US/Israeli agression.

Dave I would say they are following your advice and as you know we gave them their nuclear start in the 50s in our atoms for peace program.

Glad your here, I have to laugh! I was following you and your supposed anon but I wasn't going to chime in and have him being a fool here. you have fun with it, I am no fun when it comes to that!

Yeah, That kind of fun is one of my guilty pleasures and cheap thrills. The Troll said he was leaving. Maybe, but he is a liar. We'll see.

One thing for sure, they can dish it out but the crybabies can't take it.

Dave you're a hot shit keep it up! I wish I could indulge but I tend to react like a parent straightening out a child and there will be no recourse. Wrong is wrong, period!

Whoever it doing that I just watch though I noticed they referenced a bunch of us for speaking the truth they are trying to deny.
