America is in Mourning but because of Republicans not President Obama as The new lying Republican Ad wants you to think!

Democrats are pushing a series of bills before elections doomed to fail and it's a great strategy!

Watch the stupid mourning in America Ad

Republicans Block Bill to Lift Military Gay Ban

Why Democrats are pushing a series of bills doomed to fail

'Mourning in America' Recalls Ronald Reagan's Famous Ad This too will backfire!

Al Franken is right: "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" kicks out thousands of willing and capable Americans in whom we've invested time and training--at a time when our military is desperately in need of recruits. And military commanders certainly don't need to spend their time investigating troops' sexual orientation at a time when we're engaged in two wars.

Militaries around the world have allowed gay and lesbian citizens to serve openly without issue, and a recent article in Joint Force Quarterly concluded that "there is no scientific evidence to support the claim that unit cohesion will be negatively affected if homosexuals serve openly." And, of course, the country is ready for it--a recent poll showed that 75 percent of Americans favor ending "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
But the most powerful reason to repeal the policy has nothing to do with reasoned argument and everything to do with basic fairness. I've met gay and lesbian service members while visiting troops overseas on USO tours and as a Senator. They have the same pride, courage, and dedication to their jobs as every other American solider, sailor, airman, or Marine. And they shouldn't have to lie about who they are in order to serve.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mike Mullen, said, "For me, personally, it comes down to integrity: theirs as individuals and ours as an institution." He's right. Don't ask Don't tell should be repealed because it rewards lying and I could never fathom the concept because of that and what we expect from our military.

We know gays are serving in the military and I am sure they have from day 1. They are lying right now so they can serve. Saying it will ruin moral and the military is pure Republican BS!

Since 2007 60% of all bankruptcies have been due to health care costs. With the total now being over 50 Billion with no health insurance, 43 million living below the poverty level, and foreclosures up once again it is a losing proposition for Republicans to run on pulling the plug on any hope at all the average American has of surviving in this society.

If the Republicans get control and succeed in reversing what Obama has achieved despite their efforts to make him fail we will fail. Mourning in America as you know is a play on Reagan's successful program called Morning in America however these tea party Republican's are not Ronald Reagan. They are trying to blame Bush's economic disaster on President Obama.

This too will play well with the tea party Republicans but most people know Bush did this too and Republicans want a return to his disastrous policies. Obama's job is to remind people who did this to us and how disastrous a return to that agenda would be. They must come out and vote. My big fear is not that they and their lies will get in control but what they will do in their desperation.

As much as the rethugs like to blather about this the republicans on main street who are losing their homes know who caused this. And MSM would have you believe that everything the Dems do is wrong. Don't waste your time on this. Just keep reporting the facts.

As for gays in the military it would work but there will need to be some accomodations. My perspective. As you know from what I did for a living that we would have to take a decon shower after working in the hot zone. This presented some embarrasing problems when working with women and gay workers. We did work that out but then you're only talking about a couple of dozen workers at a time and only one or two gay workers. Women workers were permitted to "shower out" either ten minutes before or after the men and had a seperate dressing room. Same with the gay workers. So there in lies the question. Do you have seperate but equal barracks? Because we're not talking about skin color or religion or race here.

Demeur it would be nice if you could ignore the tea party but you can not. The concern is not that they will get control but what they will do when they don't.

There will be no accommodations necessary. Gays are there now and there are no special accommodations. They have been there from the beginning I'm sure. My sons know who is gay. They all do and no one cares, only that they will be there when called on.
