First have a laugh about the crazy world we live in then Reality As Happily McPalings biggest threat is Bush!

For a change have a laugh! Just in case you need more proof that we live in a crazy world . . .
In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female.
Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death. (Like THAT makes sense.)

In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman's genitals, but is prohibited from looking directly at them during the examination. He may only see their reflection in a mirror.
(Do they look different reversed?)

Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a
corpse. This also applies to undertakers. The organs of the deceased must be covered with a brick or piece of wood at all times.
(A brick??)

The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation.
(...so they'll never know they went blind?)

There are men in Guam whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time...
Reason: Under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry.
(Let's just think for a minute; is there any job anywhere
else in the world that even comes close to this?)

In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband's lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired.
(Now this is justice!)

Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool, England -
but only in tropical fish stores.
(But of course!)

In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens, her mother
must be in the room to witness the act.
(Makes one shudder at the thought.)

In Santa Cruz, Bolivia, it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time.
(I presume this was a big enough problem that they had
to pass this law?)

In Maryland, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending
machines with one exception: Prophylactics may be
dispensed from a vending machine only "in places where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises."
(Is this a great country or what? Not as great as Guam!)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.
(Who volunteers for this stuff?)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.
(Is that why Flipper was always smiling?)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
(Hummm....I won't touch THAT one!)

The ant can lift 50 times its own weight, can pull 30
times its own weight and always falls over on its right
side when intoxicated.
(From drinking little bottles of...? Wonder how much the the govt.
paid for this relevant bit of research??)

Butterflies taste with their feet.
(Ah, geez)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than it's brain.
(I know some people like that.)

Starfish don't have brains.
(I know some that seem to)

Now Happily Reality as Palin and McCain fighting Bush more than Obama but I hope the Lies will not work this time!

President Bush’s unpopularity is the No. 1 problem for the Republican presidential ticket, vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said in an interview airing Friday, breaking sharply with the president as the campaign enters its final days. Palin made her remarks in an interview Wednesday with Brian Williams, anchor of “NBC Nightly News.” Beginning with that interview and continuing in newspaper interviews and campaign speeches, Palin and Republican presidential nominee John McCain have made it clear that they are determined to disassociate themselves from the president, who registered only a 22 percent approval rating in a New York Times poll released this week.
“We’re up against a lot,” said Palin, the governor of Alaska. “We’re up against a very unpopular president, Bush’s administration right now, and those who want to link us to that administration.” Two opponents: Obama and Bush Palin’s comments were a major shot in what has become a campaign against Bush almost as much as one against the Democratic nominee, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois. Not since 1968, when Vice President Hubert Humphrey disavowed the Vietnam War policies of President Lyndon Johnson, has a campaign so clearly repudiated the sitting president of its own party. In an interview Thursday with The Washington Times, McCain spoke of Bush in tones bordering on contempt, ticking off a litany of what he said were the president’s failures.

“Spending, the conduct of the war in Iraq for years, growth in the size of government — larger than any time since the Great Society, laying a $10 trillion debt on future generations of America — owing $500 billion to China, obviously, failure to both enforce and modernize the [financial] regulatory agencies that were designed for the 1930s and certainly not for the 21st century, failure to address the issue of climate change seriously,” McCain told the newspaper. “We just let things get completely out of hand,” he said of the past eight years of Republican rule. Friday, McCain extended the theme in an address at a campaign rally in Denver. “We cannot spend the next four years as we have spent much of the last eight: hoping for our luck to change at home and abroad,” he said. “We have to act. We need a new direction, and we have to fight for it.” Obama’s vice presidential running mate, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, called the new Republican strategy “crazy” Friday. “John McCain is now attacking the Bush budget and Bush fiscal policies, which he voted for, I might add,” Biden said at a rally in Charleston, W.Va. “Folks, this is as crazy as, you know, Butch Cassidy attacking the Sundance Kid. I mean, that’s a team.” Palin calls Bush a major obstacle

* After bragging about backing Bush 90% of the time and more than any other Republican it should be and better be too hypocritical to to switch and try to lie now!

spiders also taste with their feet and legs- and they don't like citrus. so, if you have a spider problem (as i did) use citronella oil or lemon pledge around windows and doors or wherever and i vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. as long as the spiders stay out of my bedroom- they can move in :) and as for being able to kill your spouse for cheating- well, that's all well and good but it's still a double standard- it's harder for a woman to kill a man with her bare hands and the lover can be killed with anything- so theoretically, it's the woman (as is assumed) that ends up dead.

as for palin, sigh. i can't wait until i don't have to see her every freakin' day on the tv. in fact, i would go so far as to say that i really hope that she and her husband are held accountable in alaska. but the ted stevens thing isn't looking good right now- so my hopes are dwindling.

Ha!! Another one...will try to say this delicately and without smirking- in Texas, it is illegal to own more than 6 vibrators shaped like the male organ.

Why is it that most of these so called morality laws are targeted at controlling women in some way?

You make my heart smile! The world is a pretty odd place amidst all this turmoil if you take the time to look at it and ponder! What you say?

Karen
You are welcome and I owe you guys! We of the world are a weird bunch if you have the luxury of checking out the odd standards we live by around the world. You can only laugh!

That is funny and I am not into it but I thought the best toys were not standard shape. You know, we both know why but the system has been set up to favor men and I do not like it I need no favors!

Maria, leave it to Texas... Speaking of Texas, any bets on whether or not the GOP will have Rick Perry as its presidential candidate in 2012? That's the year the Mayan calendar and some other indicators suggest the world as we know it will end, so that would be an appropriate year for Perry to run. Maybe my Seattle Mariners can get to the World Series before then... sigh...

For Failin and McAnus to waste so much breath trying to distance themselves from Bush is flat-out silly. It's like someone addicted to oxycontin or heroin saying they are different from those other addicts who have been running the show. Maybe that's not a good analogy, because addiction hurts. My apologies if I offended. But it's like someone who has been part of a group crime saying their group should be allowed to continue committing the crime. Do they really think people will buy that line of b.s.?

Mariamariacuchita said...

Snave....By all accounts, Rick Perry, (aka Gov. Goodhair) is intent on running for Gov. again, but you never know, Kay bailey is actually more moderate than Bush in some areas (abortion rights and gay rights not being his strong points, but he did sign a Hate Crime bill that supported equal rights that included sexual orientation).

Austin has had twice as many early voters as in the last election and is predicted to landslide for Obama, but not so for rural Texas..although Houston, El Paso and Dallas possibly will go Blue.

McCain is ahead by about 14 points, so no one bothers to come here, except Palin and McCain to raise $$. Texas is the child left behind, sigh.

Mariamariacuchita said...

ooops. sorry, Scratch the words Kay bailey and substitute the word Perry.

Around the country early voters are at record highs in the millions! We are hearing all kinds of problems even with them and I wonder how many will get lost or tampered with since there is more time to do do. I just do not trust these scum at all. This is bad!
