You know I can't possibly see the tremendous power Bush has amassed allowed in the hands of a Democrat and 100% expect the Presidency to be hijacked by anyone of many scenarios. With that said I still have an interest in who we nominate. I would prefer Edwards as our nominee and I would vote for Hillary if I had to in lieu of any Republican except Paul. Again, with that said I see Obama's star rising and his chances increasing daily as he is saying the right things and powerful names are being dropped in his favor, I just have to wonder what Rove is up to?
This is the first underhanded issue with Rove's attempt to influence the 2008 elections in an interview with Chris Wallace. Mr. Rove, how do you turn what sure looks like a strong Democratic trend for 2008 into a Republican victory? KARL ROVE: Yeah. Well, if you look at the polls that match the leading Democrat against leading Republicans, the margin that the Democrats enjoy disappears or gets very, very narrow. That is standard Rove BE.S. used to influence and direct attitudes and opinions. It is typical underhanded undeserved cockiness. I am sick of the crap!
And the question for both parties is going to be what do they do between now and next September, October and November in order to demonstrate a positive and optimistic agenda. ROVE: Well, first of all, taxes and spending, because this current Congress has got a lousy record on both. The Republicans, though, also have to begin to deal in a very visible and vocal and powerful way with issues that people care about and talk about around the kitchen table like, "What about the cost of my health care? How can my kid go to college? What do we do to create more jobs and energy in America?"

And I'm confident, seeing our candidates around the country and seeing our presidential candidates, that there's a willingness to engage in these issues which heretofore Republicans have got good ideas about but have not been willing to talk about. ROVE: Well, the Democrat Congress will be on the ballot. And it's because they have proposed big taxes, big spending, have failed to support our troops in the war, are undermining our intelligence collection efforts, have shut the Republicans out of any meaningful discussions to move the country ahead as they had promised to do during the campaign, and have demonstrated an utter lack of fiscal responsibility by recommending $205 billion in additional spending over the next four years and two of the biggest tax increases in American history — the repeal of the Bush tax cuts, which is over $1 trillion in tax increases, and then a tax reform plan from the Ways and Means Committee chairman which is $1 trillion in additional taxes. Please read the rest I couldn't take the BE.S.
I am so sick of the outright lying and underhanded ignorant games. This idiot has absolutely no compunctions! It will destroy our America! If there are elections Obama I am prepared to say will get the Democratic nomination. I remember when it was first announced that Oprah would be campaigning for Obama there were many who said she would not be much help. I was not one of them and I beg to Differ. She has powerful great public influence and I think she will gain him much support.
I am not going to invoke race or her reason for supporting him. You draw your own conclusion. I was offended that Obama brought race into the issue as we have enough problems. I happen to agree with him as I am appalled at the rise of racial tensions and Obama is trying to get black support away from Hillary but this is not the time or place to invoke racial justice
Anyway as we watch the campaign between Hillary and Obama get increasingly underhanded to our demise I wondered why! Barack Obama's surge over Hillary Clinton in Iowa marks a new turn in the race that Clinton is describing as the "fun" part — the month before voting begins for the Democratic presidential primary nomination.
Whether it's fun for the candidates remains to be seen, but the slugfest is undoubtedly underway. Obama announced on Monday that he is launching a new Web site to document all the attacks against him by Clinton's campaign. click here to view web site
The move comes after a harrowing day in which Clinton lambasted the Illinois senator for everything from a kindergarten essay to his health care plan and use of his political action committee to funds candidates in early primary states. On Sunday, Clinton's campaign issued a memo suggesting that Obama is lying when he told voters in Boston that he has has "not been planning to run for president for however number of years some of the other candidates have been planning for," a seeming reference to Clinton. Obama up in the polls and Rove is telling him how to win
Amidst this Obama is making wise moves as he said In an interview with Time Magazine that hit newsstands Friday, the Illinois Democrat said he'd offer the former president a job in his administration "in a second." "There are few more talented people," Obama said. In the same interview with Time, Obama also said he would be happy to offer Al Gore a position in his administration tackling climate change issues. "He has been working on this for decades," Obama said. "The country and the world caught up to him. Clinton and Gore in a Obama Administration
* Saying he will listen too and have that team in his Administration is a great plus and will go a long way towards getting him nominated. Rove though is advising him on the dirty Politics to sink Hillary and I have to wonder what he is up to. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is getting advice from an unlikely source: former top Bush aide Karl Rove. The man behind Bush's two presidential victories took to the pages of the Financial Times Sunday to offer the candidate some unsolicited suggestions on how to beat rival Hillary Clinton. In an open memo to Obama, Rove said the Illinois senator currently appears "weak and ineffectual," and should start sharpening his attacks on the New York Democrat.
"Stop acting like a vitamin-deficient Adlai Stevenson," Rove writes in reference to another Illinois Democrat who twice ran for president and lost. "Striking a pose of being high-minded and too pure will not work. Americans want to see you scrapping and fighting for the job, not in a mean or ugly way but in a forceful and straightforward way."
Rove also suggests Obama exploit the "real doubts" many Democrats feel about Clinton, take clear stances on the issues, and better articulate the type of change he is hoping to represent. Finally, Rove says Obama needs to decry what he calls Clinton's complaints that she is "being picked on." "Find a way to gently belittle her whenever she tries to use disagreements among Democrats as an excuse to complain about being picked on," Rove writes. "The toughest candidate in the field should not be able to complain when others disagree with her. This is not a coronation." "Blow the whistle on her when she tries to become a victim," he continues. "Do it with humor and a smile and it will sting even more." Rove advising Obama on defeating Hillary
* Knowing he is the father of these modern day Politics I have to wonder what Rove is up to? Knowing Bush wanted a Hillary nomination because they would defeat her what is Rove up to? Knowing he is 100% dedicated to Republican leadership what is going on? Can someone help me with this?

I'm sick of all the candidates as corporate dollars dictate U.S policy anyway.
Rove is a snake, that can't stop trying to push the neocon dream of world dominance.
Now we know why some in the Bush Administration–Dick Cheney’s folks in particular–fought like hell to keep the National Intelligence Estimate on Iran’s nuclear program under wraps. IRAN HALTED ITS NUCLEAR PROGRAM IN 2003. Here’s what CNN is reporting:
Iran halted work toward a nuclear weapon under international scrutiny in 2003 and is unlikely to be able to produce enough enriched uranium for a bomb until 2010 to 2015, a U.S. intelligence report says.
A declassified summary of the latest National Intelligence Estimate found with “high confidence” that the Islamic republic halted an effort to develop nuclear weapons in the fall of 2003.
This report was ready to go in December of 2006 but Cheney and his allies pushed back hard to stop it. They knew, as they know today, that this headline does not help them in their rush to start a new war. Damn it all!!! How dare those pesky Iranians prove malleable to diplomatic initiatives and pressure. You mean we can solve things without starting a war and killing civilians?
Boy there are going to be some grumpy neo-cons. This is probably part of the war on Christmas. This kind of news will make it very difficult for the agitators for war with Iran to hoist a glass of eggnog and toast bombing ragheads in Tehran.
Don’t be surprised to hear about how the intelligence community is now filled with partisans intent on undermining the Bush Administration. They’ll sound an awful lot like Hugo Chavez, who also is whining about the vagaries of democracy and insisting he only lost the referendum in Venezuela–which would have allowed him to become President for life–because of a nefarious CIA plot.
There are some unsung heroes in the National Intelligence Council who insisted on the integrity of the product. In the face of enormous political pressure to tailor information and pull punches that undermine Bush Administration talking points, the intelligence professionals did their job. They told the truth based on the facts in hand.
Now we need to wait and see–will the Bush Administration and the Congress take no for an answer?
This makes no difference. Weapons inspectors said there was nothing in Iraq and look what happened.
Ah yes - git 'yer foul weather gear on because its mud slingin' time!
This is why I hate politricks.
Honestly though, not to be a downer - but in my mind its not going to make one damn bit of difference who gets elected.
Politicians, Stepford wives...whats the difference?
By the time the next President gets into the White House and begins forming policy, they'll have been "Valmorphasized" into whatever kind of President Big Brother and its cute, yet meaner little sister Big Business needs to get everything they want when they want it.
Pffft I say!
I saw what larry wrote above about the NIE....boy you know it was a bad day at the WH.....yahhooooo....anyways...great post as always....you put it on the table and I will come back and read it three times....more food for thought...
Larry I am so sick of it because it is only a childish game and all worthless as the last two elections have proven. We don't elect the President anymore. it is sickening watching Bush criticize other countries about inadequate Democracies when ours is in name only, in order to achieve a hidden agenda. We are not a Democracy!
Larry I thought the news on Iran was rather stunning and I will be out most of the day but I was interested in what the chief idiot will say today about this. When it all comes out I want to put something together on this.
I have been hearing rumors already that it means nothing and we can't rrust this but we will see what he says and I know this will not deter Bush from his war plans and as I said yesterday I think it was, we just got closer with the IRG being put in charge in the Gulf.
Right on Anok, you aren't a downer but a realist and a breath of fresh air. the BS is a game and it is just dressing and absolutely worthless as we don't elect the President anymore anyway.
You are right, it does not matter who gets elected anymore. Bush has set the mis-agenda for ours and the worlds future and any future President will have to deal with it. Take care!
Thanks enigma
You know Larry is right and this will not deter Bush. As I said yesterday the IRG being put in charge of the Gulf yesterday will guarantee a run in with us and it will end in war regardless of who comes up with the excuse first.
At the same time the world is gearing up to respond to Bush and this will ramp up uncontrolled to all our demise. Bush doesn't care about the truth or what anyone says only following his Forever War new world order agenda. I want to swear but you are too nice. Have a nice day, Namaste!
