I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas but have to mention this nuclear war scenario between Israel and Iran published today because it is to Rosy!

I first want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas! I was going to just enjoy the Holiday and not talk about the way things are today but I will do that tomorrow. I saw this report on what would happen if nuclear war breaks out between Iran and Israel. It may sound horrific to some but those of you that know and see the big picture it is a much too rosy Picture First!

Report: Iran Would Suffer Up to 20 Million Casualties in Nuclear War With Israel. An estimated 16-20 million Iranians would die in a nuclear war with Israel, according to a report issued by a respected Washington think tank. The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) also estimates that between 200,000 and 800,000 Israelis would be killed, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The report, which is theoretical and based on limited verified knowledge of Israel's and Iran's nuclear capability, paints a bleak picture for both nations. It estimates that a nuclear war would last approximately three weeks and ultimately end with the annihilation of Iran, based on Israel's alleged possession of sophisticated and powerful nuclear weapons. The report does not predict the number of deaths due to nuclear fallout. It lists possible targets for an Iranian strike as Tel Aviv and Haifa, while the list of probable targets in Iran includes Tehran and Tabriz.

The report also points to Israel's Arrow missile defense system as an obstacle facing any Iranian strike. Another scenario includes Syria coming to Iran's defense with chemical and biological warheads launched at Israeli targets. Up to 800,000 Israelis would be killed if that were to happen, according to the report. Syria, however, would be forced to grapple with the deaths of approximately 18 million of its citizens if Israel responded with its nuclear arsenal, the Post reported. too rosy scenario

You know from my past stories on the subject that I am hoping nuclear war in the middle east will be avoided because it would at the very least render the middle east and its assets off limits for the rest of the world due to the nuclear fall out! 20 million dead Iranian's and 800,000 dead Israeli's is far too rosy and would be just the tip of the iceberg. No one seems to care about the dire state the planet is already as it becomes increasingly obvious that countries are now willing to chance mutual destruction for God and destruction of perceived enemies. Nuclear war between Israel and Iran whether Iran had the weapons or not would drag in the US (willingly if Bush is in I'm afraid) on the side of Israel and Russia and China rushing to the aid of their ally Iran. Even that sounds too rosy. you know from my past line of stories that Bush need war to further his idea of a one Government War.

*Everything he has done is to instigate that scenario while appearing the innocent victim forced to war he has been instigating. That is why he attacked Iraq in the first place. I am sickened knowing the fragility of the planet and that the obvious casualties will not deter anyone. I saw that last night there was a special on CBS last night titled In Gods Name. the horror man is willing to unleash in Gods name is what strikes me! Mutual Destruction is no longer a deterrent to nuclear war but a goal and for God and in Gods name. Why?

Any nuclear strike on Iran will bring catastrophic consequences to the world. Teheran sits on the 35th parallel, where prevailing winds blow from West to East. If anyone thinks India, Pakistan, China, and Russia are just going to say, "Oh well, we understand", they better have themselves another think. Russia has already delivered a minimum of 15 Kilo-Class submarines, which is the nautical delivery system of the Sizzler Missiles, to Iran. These Sizzlers have only one purpose: Destruction of aircraft carriers.

Add to that, China gets between 15 and 20% of it's oil from Iran.

I believe a strike on Iran will be viewed as an all-out attack on the Middle-East, and will unite all Arabs and Islamists world-wide. Just because the United States has 10,000+ Nukes, don't be misled into believing she can't be brought to her knees.

This is gonna get real messy.

Wally and I would like to wish you and yours a very Blessed Christmas, Jim.

Hi, and may the new year bring you contentment and peace.
Interesting scenario, and perhaps one that may well have transpired, but a couple of things happened in the last few weeks, which would indicate a "realpolik", which has overtaken the MSM, right-wing versions.
The Russians just began delivery of nuclear fuel to the Iranians. (December 17th)
The Israelis have visited Moscow many times, and no doubt their "intelligence officials" have concluded that the Russians do not make idle threats. Particularly given the history of the Russian armed forces, the Israelis are unlikely to directly confront any Russian economic trade.
The Russians have also just sold helicopters to the Saudis, and a few months back, fighters to the Venezuelans.
They are also negotiating with the Libyans to supply nuclear reactors and fuel.
The French have signed agreements with the Algerians and Morroccans to supply them with nuclear reactors.

The European Union is holding preliminary talks with the Morroccans to admit them to the "Union."
Most of this goes unreported in the American press, but it does seem as though the neocons have had their moment.
Imagine, if only Israel had thought to sell the Arabs nuclear technology instead of threatening them...
As for Israel in the future, who knows?, they have their hawks, and their doves, just like the white house.

brother Merry Christmas to you and Wally. Mutual destruction use to be a deterrent but today seems to be the goal. As you point out, attacking Iran will be the beginning of the end of the world as we know it.
Attacking Iran is a given and has been the goal since 1996 pre Bush. it is why Bush attacked Iraq to get into the middle east.

Merry Christmas fellow patriots!

I am appropriately obsessed with with the events of our ongoing political nightmare, as we all should be.

However I learned it can be very therapeutic to take the occasional day to leave the ugliness of the politcal and econmic worlds for a bit and focus on some of the better aspects of life.

It's important to find happiness when we can. We can't afford to surrender our sanity and joy.

I wish the best to you all.

Peace. Within, if nowhere else.

Everything you said is true but it is a lot worse. Russia mans many of the advanced weapons for Iran has recently supplied a nuclear strike sub and long ago told its special forces to defend their interests in case of a strike.
It gets a lot worse and will not be avoided because many want it. Mutual destruction use to be a deterrent but today appears to be the goal! Merry Christmas!
