A brief History of marijuana
2727 BC China began using pot as a medicine
500 AD Cannabis reaches Europe via India and Africa
1492 Christopher Columbus brought Cannabis Sativa to the new world, You never hear them mention that do you?
1619 Jamestown passed a law requiring all settlers to grow Hemp
1797 George Washington's primary crop at mount Vernon is cannabis, something else they have never mentioned
1876 The Sultan of Turkey gave the US marijuana as a gift
1880 Turkish smoking parlors open up all over the Northeast
1891 Queen Victoria was prescribed marijuana to relieve her menstrual cramps
1908 Henry Ford's first model T was made from Hemp plastic and ran on Hemp ethanol, man have we gone backwards!
1937 Federal law Bans marijuana:The first 2 copies of the Declaration of Independence were printed on Hemp! Benjamin Franklin used Hemp to start Americas first paper mills. It was once legal and one of the largest crops in the world. The majority of fabrics, lighting oil, medicines, paper, and fiber. Hemp was touted as a billion dollar crop in the 19th century and its unparalleled universality made it a target of other sources. It produced more than 5000 products from its thread and 25000 from its cellulose including dinamite and cellophane.
They made it illegal because it was the most widely used product in the world and would interfere with other products and diversity. WW2 brought the necessity that it be legalized ounce again as there was so much of it , its wide use, and its abundance. WW2 ended and once again it was made illegal to protect other industries and interests.
1942 US military was using marijuana as a truth serum
1965 1 million Americans used marijuana
1972 that number grew to 24 million
1980's Reagan began his war on drugs and every 38 seconds someone is arrested for breaking those ridiculous laws
*1996 Proposition 215 passed in California legalizing medical marijuana and today marijuana is America's #1 cash crop grossing 36 billion dollars. That is just marijuana not hemp that has some 50,000 uses by now and does not get you high. It should be legalized and it never should have been made illegal.; If it was made legal once again it would send our entire consumer market into a turmoil as it could replace many existing products.

Alcohol and tobacco are easier to tax and regulate. Both require some infrastructure to guarantee quality and profits.
Marijuana is just too easy to grow. If they legalized it. It would be cultivated everywhere.
Wease it is cultivated everywhere anyways. Big business and politicians make money of the most abused drug, alcohol.
You want to laugh? Yesterday I called a friend from Ma who has lived in Cali since the 70's. He is 68, anyway I tried to talk seriously and he said the only thing we care about here is the quality of our pot.
