Cheney's chief of Staff Addington Disdainful and obviously lying to Congress but we are powerless to do anything about it!

I really wanted to discuss McAsshole saying how successful Iraq is with 2.5 million permanent refugees and Afghanistan is failing with 6,000 more troops asked for quickly, growing insurgency, more Opium growth then the world can consume, and it will get much worse because of the "success" in Iraq!

I also wanted to discuss America's largest and growing Community the Latino's as Obama and McCain both addressed them yesterday. McCain the idiot ignored it but was interrupted four times by hecklers while when Obama addressed them he was received warmly. later Latino Reps were saying 71% are behind Obama and only 26% back McCain! It looks better every day but you have to wonder what underhand crap the right is going to pull to stay in control?

Sadly our uselessness has to be discussed! Democrats in Congress are still reeling over the lip they got yesterday from the Bush administration's key experts on torture. Vice President Dick Cheney chief of staff David Addington was so disdainful that some are wondering if he can be prosecuted for lying to Congress. "Of all the hearings I've attended since I started serving on the Judiciary Committee four years ago, I have never felt more strongly that a witness was lying," Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said in an interview. "At the end of the day I'm not sure how much we can do -- we can't prove what he says he doesn't recollect."

* All they always do is lie and say they don't recall. What the hell is new and what the hell can we do about it? The Judiciary Committee is looking into whether former Justice Department official John Yoo's claim of executive privilege will fly. In the meantime, key clips of Addington's snarky responses to members of Congress are making the highlight reels. Wasserman Schultz questioned Addington about his visits to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, asking whether he discussed interrogation techniques with officials there. Addington said he did not recall. "It is hard to fathom you would not have recollections on specific conversations on types of interrogations methods," Wasserman Schultz said. "Is there a questioned appended, ma'am?" Addington said. "I don't believe that you do not recall whether you discussed specific interrogation methods. So I will ask you again." "As I said to you," Addington said, "I don't recall."

Here's Chairman John Conyers trying to elicit Addington's legal justification for Bush's directives on harsh interrogation techniques

Conyers: Do you feel that the unitary theory of the executive allows the president to do things over and above the stated law of the land? * Empty BS:Addington: The Constitution binds all of us, congressman, the president, all the U.S. members of Congress, all of the federal judges. We all take an oath to support and defend it. I frankly don't know what you mean by the Unitary Theory of Government. I don't -- Conyers: Have you ever heard of that theory before? Addington: Oh I have, I've seen it in the newspapers all the time -- Conyers: Do you support it? Addington: I don't know what it is. Conyers: You don't know what it is. Addington: No, and it's always described as something Addington's the great, you know -- Conyers: I see. read the full report if you can stand it

We are Friggen Powerless to stop what is being openly and egregiously done to us! AAARRRGGGHHH!

As long as contempt of congress is only a misdemeanor, and the justice department is in service to the Reich, we will not see any effective checks and balances.

Since the Justice Department is stacked with Reich Wingers, a moderate Attorney General may restore a semblance of "justice". The agency is corrupted for the long haul by eight years of illegally hired selected Bush loyalists

It's a Republican dictatorship supported by the right leaning corporatist Democrats.

If Obama wins and actually gets in office, the Reich will shut any progressive agenda down.

The best we can hope for is moderate Supreme Court appointments and maybe a few reversals of presidential directives. Congress is owned by corporate power.

Addington is a smug, arrogant SOB. If there was ever anyone worthy of waterboarding, that slimeball is it.

As far as I'm concerned if things are above board in November Obama will be the next President but they will not be. To what extreme will the right go that is the question. I was also going to discuss Seymour Hirsh's Preparing the battle field, war with Iran because as we discuss often, he is right and Bush is doing his damnedest to have war with Irin before his time is up.
Congress okayed 400 million for covert operations in Iran. It is coming and I might discuss it tomorrow. I don't know there is so much! Hey where the hell you been man. I visit you every day and I don't think there has been any activity but I'll see today!

What the hell? Bot are we screwed! Did you just see my comment to Dave on escalating covert operations in Iran looking for war

I'm surprised and pleased the Obama has been able to capture more of the Latin vote. Never could understand why they didn't support him 100% My daughter wears a pin that says LATINOS FOR OBAMA>

Addington says he doesn't know the meaning of the phrase, The Unitary Executive? I'm speechless. Isn't he the one who carefully crafted the exact wording that Bush uses on all his signing statements? The statements that say, blah-blah, I'm signing this bill but don't agree with & won't be bound by it wherever it conflicts with the powers of The Unitary Executive.

Looking fwd to your Seymour Hersh discussion. I was just reading about it.

All right, your daughter Rocks! The country is increasingly seeing through McCain and the liar Bush but I still 100% expect War with Iran before elections ending them or to have it stolen again one way or the other. Those underhanded scum care not about our America but the new one they are well into forming and they are not going to let that end!

It is sickening those lying underhanded scum could care ,less how stupid they look or sound as long as they follow their friggen not so well hidden agenda. Did you hear Addington explaining Unitary and how scummy his explanation was as he parsed it for his need only. I am so friggen sick of it and we are powerless to stop this. I am sick of saying it but the worst is still to come! Take care and stay in touch!

Covert Operations in Iran is an act of war.

Misdemeanors are impeachable.

Although I'm not a lawyer or jurist, I would consider acts of war to be High Crimes, which are also impeachable.

Right Tim.

I was referring to Addington. Congress can impeach him and have him fired.

But that would take work.

And it might divide the country, and interrupt it's destruction.

I know and I can't believe the friggen audacity of the Bush regime overtly saying they are doing this as they only say to the charges that everything is fair game while we are warning them about Iraq. I want to scream this is not a friggen game!

I would assume that having $400 million to openly spend on killing Iranian leaders and overthrowing their order of Government would be an act of war, flagrant, and impeachable but the scum can do what he wants and we are screwed and it pisses me off!

You probably read that about Addington. I refuse to believe these idiots can openly lie and screw with Congress and their is no repercussions. They just friggen laugh and smirk at us and we can't do a damn thing about it!

Guess I shoulda read this 1st. Doh!! Note to self: read in order!!

What can we expect when Pelosi's 1st day included the statement that impeachment isn't even on the table? How many ways can I say 'You blew it El Wimpo from CA!!!'?

Pelosi, Hoyer, and the whole right wing complicit crew better pay for their allegiance to the right with their jobs this fall.
