ISIS conflict in Iraq moves Iraq, Turkey and the Kurds to ally
In previous years, Kurdish assertiveness—even in neighboring Iraq—was often countered by Turkey, which for more than a quarter century was locked in a deadly conflict with Kurdish separatists in its own country before launching peace talks in 2012. Underscoring that trend, Turkey has kept mum on Erbil's mobilization to defend its borders this past week by deploying its Peshmerga troops into the oil-rich Iraqi city of Kirkuk.
In past decades, Turkey has fiercely objected any Kurdish advances in Kirkuk, maintaining that the city has a multi-ethnic character and a large population of Iraqi Turkmens. Kurdish officials now agree that the fate of Turkey and the Kurds are entwined, and policy increasingly reflects shared economic and security interests. Security analysts said Iraqi Kurdistan is not only an ally, but is also forming an important security buffer for Turkey that is helping to shield its borders from an influx of refugees and insulating it against ISIS in Iraq.
Remember, the Kurds are Sunni and al-Maliki Shiite. Al- Maliki and Iran see Hashimi and the Kurds as a threat to their dominance in the new middle east order. The Kurds wanting a free Kurdistan are now a people without a country"
Kurds are a dispossessed people whose natural homeland stretches across much of the Middle East. A substantial number of Kurds live in Iran, which is as close to a mortal enemy of the United States as there is in the world today. American support for reclaiming those colonial possessions of Teheran and the incorporation of those lands into Kurdistan would roughly double the area of the Iraqi Kurds.
A significant, but smaller, number of Kurds live in Syria, an enemy of America and a supporter both of the Iraqi insurgency and of international terrorism. If the Baathist regime did not give up its Kurdish lands, then the Kurds, with American military support, should smash the Syrian Army and force as humiliating a peace treaty as possible on Damascus.
The majority of the thirty million or so Kurds, however, live in Turkey – almost one quarter of the population of Turkey. That, more than anything else, has stayed our hand so far. Kurdistan with the southeast quarter of Turkey is a fairly large nation. Traditionally, Turkey has been an ally of America, but that has been changing fast and Turkish support for American policies has always been based entirely on cynical self-interest.
We owe Turkey – neutral in World War Two and our enemy in World War One – nothing. Our support for Turkey costs us the goodwill of Greeks, Armenians and other European nations that suffered through centuries of Turkish oppression. It also has cost of much of the goodwill of Kurds, who would otherwise welcome the presence of a superpower that was not intolerant, not Arab, and sought nothing but friendly relations with it.
Another important reason for supporting a true Kurdistan is that the Kurds are a genuinely diverse people. Although they were forced to covert to Islam, today only about seventy percent of the Kurds are Moslem, and many of those only nominally, Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians (or a faith much akin to that) and Bahai have lived within the long-persecuted Kurdish community with their first allegiance as Kurds, and there is no single branch of Islam that clearly dominates the Kurdish community.
Kurdistan could then be a democracy with an Islamic majority that was genuinely inclusive of all faiths, both needing the support of all Kurds to survive (much like Israel) and also because of centuries of living largely underground, tolerant of all Kurds. There is little doubt that it would become an affluent nation as capable of defending itself as Israel is today, and that along with the establishment of a truly free and democratic Lebanon, would create three strong, free and prosperous democracies which would naturally become allies or at least friends.
The dismemberment of Iran, which would lose ten percent of its population, and the humiliation of Syria, which would be forced into a very precarious position, would be great peripheral benefits. The downside has always been the impact on Turkey.
Oil-rich area
Iraq's ethnic Kurds maintain an autonomous region that comprises three of the country's 18 provinces. In recent months, the Shiite-led central government in Baghdad, which includes some Kurds in prominent positions "or there were", has accused Kurdish leaders of attempting to expand their territory by deploying their militia, known as pesh merga, to areas south of the autonomous region. Among other things, the Kurds and Iraq's government are at odds over control of the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, which lies outside the autonomous region, and over how Iraq's oil revenue ought to be distributed.
What a mess the already volatile Middle East has become since Bush was told by God to attack Iraq to get into the Middle East to straighten it out. He freed up Iran to instigate wherever she can in order to have her idea of a new Middle East order not ours. Will we ever find a balance again?
Many of us have said numerous times that Bush was advised before hand that if he attacked Iraq he would destabilize the middle east. He knew before he ignored all good advice that the neighbors would get involved and they are. He knew that it was most likely that Iraq would be divvied up between the Kurds, the Sunni's, and the Shiite and it will be. In the past I have written extensively the entire middle east would blow and then the entire world would be involved in war.
I know that both Turkey and Iran are fighting Kurds "off and on" that are looking for Autonomy but never really thought that a free Kurdistan would encompass areas of Iran and Turkey as well as Iraq. knowing the close American Kurdish relationship I really have to rethink what Bush's real goal is here after I discovered an old story.

Baghdad accuses Kurd's of smuggling oil to Turkey, vows revenge
Baghdad decries Kurdish region's oil move: It is just the latest
chapter in a long-running tussle between the federal government and the
Kurdistan region over natural resources. The three-province region's plan
to sell oil it has exported to Turkey "is considered ... an explicit
violation of the requisites of the Iraqi constitution", the Oil Ministry
said in an English-language statement.
The federal State Oil Marketing Organisation "is the exclusive, sole official body authorised to enter into contracts for the export of hydrocarbon resources, including crude oil and gas", the statement said. Any other exports are "considered as 'smuggled crude' and in violation of the valid laws", it said, also criticising Turkey for facilitating the move by Kurdistan.
Kurd's want their oil!
The uprisings of the Arab Spring are spilling over into an awakening of Kurdish people and their national self-definition. The Kurds number some 30 million people scattered around Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran and the Caucasus. The civil war in Syria has provided certain Kurdish armed groups with the opportunity to further arm themselves and enact a round of attacks against the Turkish Army, hoping to create a second autonomous Kurdish region in the Middle East.
The first being Northern Iraq. Characteristically, Massoud Barzani, current president of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, said, "The Kurdish nation will be united and the day of self-determination is coming." Since the end of 2011, as the war in Syria was building, Kurdish guerrilla groups in Turkey, such as PKK, intensified their attacks. Since then, hundreds of military attacks by Kurds have managed to inflict great casualties on the Turkish Army
Remember, the Kurds want their oil and their freedom. That is only one small fact Bush ignored to attack Iraq so he could help Israel and instigate war with Iran.

U.S. has taken sides in Bush's Iraqi civil war and is now in the middle
* U.S. sends missiles and drones to Iraq to fight al-Qaeda: An intelligence official told AP that the missiles were proven “successful” and were used to destroy four militant camps. “The United States is committed to supporting Iraq in its fight against terrorism through the Strategic Framework Agreement,” she said, referring to a 2008 pact between the two nations.“The recent delivery of Hellfire missiles and an upcoming delivery of ScanEagles are standard foreign military sales cases that we have with Iraq to strengthen their capabilities to combat this threat.”
Hellfires are widely used by U.S. forces in their campaign against al-Qaeda, often targeting militant hideouts or vehicles. Iraq launched its operation in the largely desert province of Anbar followed the weekend killing of a senior military commander, a colonel and five soldiers in an ambush. Al-Qaeda is believed to have made use of the war in Syria, which borders Anbar, to rebuild its organization in Iraq.
Before Bush started this civil war he knew what would be the result of his illegal attack on Iraq, He did it anyway so he could get back in to the middle east to help Israel.
It will not be stopped and before Bush's illegal attack he was warned of this. He as you know ignored all good advice.
Bush still swears this was a success and history will vindicate him. Iraq's breakdown that he guaranteed with his illegal attack will spread throughout the middle east. Now it will be aided by Syria's breakdown spreading throughout the middle east. Turkey is already preparing to go into Syria after Turkish, Iraqi, and Syrian Kurds forming up and attacking from Syria. The total middle east breakdown we have seen coming and talked about from day one is fast approaching.
The breakdown Sunni against Shiite against Kurd was guaranteed the day Bush ignored all good advice to the contrary and attacked Iraq. It was guaranteed as soon as we left whether we left today or were stupid enough to hang around longer as Republican nominees are wrongly criticizing Obama for not doing. From Iraq it will spread throughout the entire middle east compliments of Bush not Obama.
The International Committee of the Red Cross, in a report titled "Iraq: No Let-up in the Humanitarian Crisis," writes, "Despite limited improvements in security in some areas, armed violence is still having a disastrous impact. Civilians continue to be killed in the hostilities. "The injured often do not receive adequate medical care. Nothing has changed people except in some cases to get worse.
Millions of people have been forced to rely on insufficient supplies of poor-quality water as water and sewage systems suffer from a lack of maintenance and a shortage of engineers." "Nothing has changed people but we are leaving them to their own demise and it will spread through the entire middle east."
Both Amnesty and the Red Cross slam the Iraqi government for failing to grapple with the critical needs of their populations.
The two reports cited a litany of concerns that will not be corrected, including severe widespread poverty, a lack of food and water, and broken families left to scrounge for whatever they can find to get by. Both reports described a situation that shows no sign of clear improvement. Many women "have been forced to wear Islamic dress or targeted for abduction, rape or killing. That is not to speak of the more than 2 million permanent nomads because of Bush's and Obama's actions.
If Bush had stayed in Afghanistan as he should have instead of diverting from the war on terror to attack Iraq so he could start implementing his new middle east order, Iraq may still have a Dictator but they would have security, electricity, water, fuel, and a lot more than they have now or will have in the future. We will never be able to bring services anywhere close to the level they were at when Saddam was in power. It is laughable to think that anyone thought they would be better post Saddam.

Rampant sectarian killings unabated in Iraq "Bush's success"
Deadly bombings hit Baghdad province, Rampant sectarian killings: Violence in Iraq has reached a level this year not seen since 2008, when the country was just emerging from a brutal period of rampant sectarian killings. Nearly 950 people were killed in the month of November alone.
Members of Iraq's Sunni minority, who complain of discrimination at the hands of the Shia-led government, have held frequent large demonstrations during the past year. But daily attacks have shown no sign of abating, and violence has killed more than 6,250 people since the beginning of the year, according to AFP news agency figures based on security and medical sources.
Execution-style sectarian killings on upswing in Iraq:
This
year has been Iraq's most violent since the Sunni-Shi'ite bloodbath of
2006-07, now with a resurgence of sectarian killings as well as a
growing insurgent campaign of bomb and gun attacks targeting security
forces and civilians. Tens of thousands of people died during Iraq's Sunni-Shi'ite bloodletting which peaked in 2006-2007.
Police retrieved the corpses of eight men, blindfolded and handcuffed, in the mainly Sunni Muslim area of Arab Jubbor, south of Baghdad, on Wednesday. In the northwest of the capital, five bodies were found in the mostly Shi'ite Shu'ala district, also handcuffed and blindfolded and executed, police said.
We are already closing in on surpassing the blood letting at its worse in 2006-2007 with 1'000 dead in October alone. Some success huh? Bush should be and is proud of the disaster he created here and in the middle east for "God"

It does not take a damn military expert. We and Bush knew it would erupt into total civil war before he ignored all good advice to the contrary and attacked Iraq to get back into the middle east to help Iran and look for a reason to go after Syria, Iran, and others. Well you see how that is going.

Muqtada al-Sadr allies with Sunni to lead civil war against them
Iraq's cold war leaves country on edge: During Iraq's provincial election, Shiite politician and cleric Muqtada al-Sadr allied with Sunni political blocs to successfully challenge Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s ruling party. The pairing took many off guard. During Iraq’s brutal civil war, which began in 2006 and dragged on for more than two years, Shiites and Sunnis squared off, leaving tens of thousands dead. The rival factions never completely reconciled. Last spring’s election was the first glimpse of possible progress.
Bingo! Al Sadr Iran's ally wants to lead it and vindicate all the Shiite deaths at the hands of the Sunni.

More than 1,000 Iraqis were killed in July, the deadliest month in more than five years, the UN peacekeeping mission in Iraq reported on Thursday. "The UN Assistance Mission for Iraq said on Thursday that more than 1,000 Iraqis were killed and more than 2,300 were wounded in acts of terrorism and violence in July," said UN spokesman Martin Nesirky at a daily briefing.
"The Mission, in releasing its monthly casualty figures, said that most of those killed or wounded were civilians," Nesirky said. More than 4,000 Iraqis have been killed since the start of the year, Nesirky quoted Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq, Gyorgy Busztin, as saying.
"The Mission hasn't seen such numbers in more than five years," said the spokesperson.

That said, Muqtada al-Sadr has artfully gotten himself politically in a position to lead Iraq which he knew he could not do through violence. Nothing has changed, he merely wants to be at the head of the fight. This civil war is still just taking shape. Things will not get better for Iraq, they will get worse.

At Least 80 People Killed in Latest Iraqi Violence as Bush's "success" in Iraq spreads
At Least 80 People Killed in Latest Iraqi Violence
At least 71 people were killed and 201 wounded in a series of bombings and other attacks across Baghdad on Wednesday, police and medical sources said, extending the worst wave of sectarian bloodshed in Iraq for at least five years.
It was not immediately clear who carried out the attacks, which appeared coordinated, but Sunni Muslim insurgents including the al Qaeda-affiliated Islamic State of Iraq have significantly stepped up bombings this year. More than two years of civil war in neighboring Syria have aggravated deep-rooted sectarian divisions in Iraq, fraying the country's uneasy coalition of Shi'ite Muslim, Sunni Muslim and Kurdish factions.

That is not to speak of the more than 2 million permanent nomads because of Bush's and Obama's.

Iraq Kurds flee Iran and Turkey, Syrian kurds all flee to Iraq
Kurds flee Iranian and Turkish bombardment: Iraqi Kurds say they are caught in the middle as Turkey and Iran
attack their villages across the border while Ankara and Tehran court
their local government with foreign investment that has helped make the
Kurdish region the most stable part of Iraq.
Since mid-July, when Iran began shelling, farmers abandoned crops and livestock for small refugee camps on the parched hillsides at the foot of Qandil mountains where Turkish jets now fly low across the frontier to hunt Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels taking refuge in northern Iraq and southern Turkey.
The Kurds wanting a free Kurdistan are right now a people without a country" that corner of Iraq is their safety zone if there is one.
I know that both Turkey and Iran are fighting Kurds that are looking for Autonomy but never really thought that a free Kurdistan would encompass areas of Iran and Turkey as well as Iraq. I think they should be happy with the three provinces they have in Iraq with maybe a small corner of Turkey thrown in. Iran will never give up a piece of her country.

More than 1,000 Iraqis killed in July as Bush's success devolves into a total middle east war
Wave of bombings in Iraq during holiday kills 69
It does not take a damn military expert. We and Bush knew it would erupt into total civil war before he ignored all good advice to the contrary and attacked Iraq to get back into the middle east to help Iran and look for a reason to go after Syria, Iran, and others. Well you see how that is going.
Bush started this civil war he knew would be the result of his illegal attack on Iraq so he could get back in to the middle east to help Israel.
Iraq was lost on day one!
US military experts warns we are losing leverage and gains in Iraq as violence increases:“We left (Iraq) on the edge of being stable,” Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, a former military intelligence officer, told Fox News. While saying it's clear the job was "not done," he warned:
“Al Qaeda as an entity is coming back strong within the region and is doing things to destabilize governments, which, at this point in time, are still friendly to us." On Thursday, Iraq’s parliament speaker painted a grim picture of a crumbling country that is taking another beating by terrorists. "The situation is grave," Osama al-Nujaifi said during a press conference.
It does not take a damn military expert. We and Bush knew it would erupt into total civil war before he ignored all good advice to the contrary and attacked Iraq to get back into the middle east to help Iran and look for a reason to go after Syria, Iran, and others. Well you see how that is going.

We will never be able to bring services anywhere close to the level they were at when Saddam was in power. It is laughable to think that anyone thought they would be better post Saddam.
The Congressional investigation into reconstruction in Iraq found that six out of eight projects the Bush administration claimed to be a success were falling apart, throwing doubts over the long-term viability of much of the $30 billion program. I have to tell you, the entire program, the surge, Democracy, everything, was guaranteed lost from the get go. What ever is built will be destroyed.
The report looked at hospital projects that at last count their was one capable of operating at all and that great success. Each sect is only concerned with looking out for their own interest and future and as we are told to ignore everyday because it is not "the reality on the ground" reality is much worse! The inspectors found serious plumbing and electrical failures due to looting, equipment lying idle to me primarily because people are scared to death to venture out into the reality Bush has created for them. This 2007 report blames Iraqi's for the disaster Bush created and still exists today From the Political system to the oil Industry, Hospitals, electricity, plumbing, security, everything, It will not be turned around and will only get a lot worse before it spreads throughout the entire middle east.
In closing, the 2009 report:The humanitarian situation remained alarming. According to the UN, at least 4 million Iraqis still did not have enough food, around 40 per cent of the population did not have access to clean drinking water, and 30 per cent did not have access to adequate health care services. The education system was near collapse with schools and universities lacking essential materials such as books, and teachers and students terrorized by violence. Many schools were bombed. The unemployment rate remained extremely high at 50 per cent or even higher. If this is success the entire middle east is screwed!
In the middle of our "success" I still see a total civil war Sunni against Shiite erupting in the Middle East because Bush freed up Iran to instigate it on their end and they are. I still am concerned we will have a permanent presence in the Middle East but feel we will have to largely leave Iraq to her own demise. We will still be there but it looks like Yemen, and the Gulf of Aden will be the prime focus unless Iran gets something going between the US and Iran.
As you know, I talk about it often as I watch Bush's new Middle East (dis)order progress. He ignored Afghanistan so he could use the patriot acts powers to divert from Afghanistan to attack Iraq using the excuse of unseating Saddam so he could get in the Middle East to help Israel establish a buffer zone and establish a new middle east (dis) order or so Israel and Cheney thought. Bush at Cheney's urging made an abrupt shift in policy towards Syria, a shift that has now brought the entire Mideast region to the brink of war and chaos. Much worse than the hell on earth they created for Iraq. Did you ever read A clean Break a 2003 Executive intelligence Review that tells the truth as to our diabolical plans
That plan was put together in 1996 for Israel. They were just waiting for an idiot to come along so they could implement their plan for the Middle East. Along came the life long follower and life long alcoholic loser Georgie Bush. I wish I could say the rest is History but this is still barely beginning and just beginning to take shape. All Bush did by ignoring Afghanistan and attacking Iraq was to guarantee a loss of everything and a complete Middle East and Asian Breakdown.
We freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.
The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!
You know I firmly believe and have said so a million times by now that since 9/11 everything was construed to allow Bush to gain the power he needed to prosecute his new order not just in the Middle East but on the entire world! He diverted from Afghanistan to get back into the Middle East with the goal of setting up a larger safety zone for Israel and going after Iran. Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran!
What about the Kurds who want their autonomy and they do not want to share their oil fields period. Nuri Al-Maliki wants that issue resolved and it will never be. The entire middle east and north Africa and our more than century of interference and exploitation can take the blame for that too.
Bush has created a hell on earth for Iraq that he still calls liberty and success with promises to spread it throughout the entire Middle East Sunni against Shiite and it is. Shiite Iran and Hezbollah backed by Russia is not going to abdicate their stance in the middle east.
Quite
the opposite as you are still just seeing the beginning of the total
middle east breakdown Bush guaranteed with his illegal attack on Iraq.
Saddam was lying about having WMD because he wanted to keep Iran in
control.
Bush
freed up Iran to take the lead role in the middle east to achieve their
idea of a new middle east order and not ours, Israel's, or Sunni Saudi
Arabia's.
