Attack on US in Libya fuels anti-militia backlash: Tens of thousands of Libyans marched to the gates of one of the country's strongest armed Islamic extremist groups Friday, demanding it disband, as the attack that killed the U.S. ambassador and four other Americans sparked a public backlash against militias that run rampant in the country and defy the country's new, post-Moammar Gadhafi leadership.

"If they are the 'supporters of Shariah' then who are we?" he said. "We don't want the flag of al-Qaida raised over heads," he added, referring to Ansar al-Shariah's black banner. One elder resident at the Sahaba Mosque sit-in, Ramadan Youssef, said, "We will talk to them peacefully. We will tell them you are from us and you fought for us" during the civil war against Gadahfi. But "if you say no (to integrating into the) police and army, we will storm your place. It's over."

Libyan militia in Derna 'to disband': A powerful militia in eastern Libya has announced it will disband, hours after military police and protesters routed militias from the city of Benghazi. Leaders of the Abu Slim Brigade said the group would dissolve and quit its bases in Derna, east of Benghazi. Another militia group, Ansar al-Sharia, suspected of a deadly attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, was also reported to be leaving Derna.

Libyan army evicts militia in Tripoli: Commander in chief Yussef al-Mangush said on his Facebook page that members of the militia were arrested and that their weapons were confiscated. The sound of gunfire was heard in the area at 9 am (0700 GMT) and lasted less than a minute, an AFP journalist said.

The move comes a day after the Libyan authorities announced the decision to dissolve all militias that do not come under state authority and set a 48-hour deadline for armed groups to evacuate strategic property in Tripoli.

 

Pakistan's Lashkar were the first to form and stand uo to the Islamists and it has been a few years now. I sure hope this is a movement because this is what Islam needs to take it from the clutches of the Osama Bin Laden influenced terrorists. 25 killed, hundreds injured in violent protests against anti-Islam film:

More than 10 years in Bin Laden was still at the helm running the show in his personal vendetta against the west. He wanted to expand his perverted Jihad against the US and urged all Muslim's and minorities to go after railroad's and small towns. Knowing that some in inter service intelligence agency and in the Pakistan Government were complicit from the get go and our Government knew that Osama Bin Laden had to be killed.

He is now dead but his personal vendetta lives on. However it looks like a vendetta against Islam as much as a vendetta against the west. All of islam must pay heed to what Bin Laden's once right hand man learned years ago.

Noman Benotman loved and respected Bin Laden but like Al Zawahiri Al Qaeda number two he did not think Bin Laden was very smart. However, he did not have to be. He got this so called Jihad going and has incited the Islamist rancor he intended. whether he's Dead or alive the battle is on. For Islamists this has taken on a life of its own. In reality Bin Laden is still the greatest enemy of his people. Remember the open letter we discussed from Noman Benotman Bin Laden's personal friend and fellow freedom fighter against the Russian's?

Bin Laden is solely responsible for all this war death and destruction. He's no frigging hero to Muslims. They should have hunted him down themselves and ended this! Noman considered himself a freedom fighter and he was. He fought alongside Bin Laden against the Russians but said these wars have nothing to do with Islam. It is purely political and it is time to lay down arms, 100% and end all this senseless violence.

We know this but Noman says to Al Qaeda and now Islamists of all stripes the vendetta offers meaning to those who have none and gives them a cause but has nothing to do with Islam or Jihad. This all boils down to communications and I agree but Islamists are not interested in communicating. They are interested in our destruction. violence is their communication.
 
Osama is dead now so the message goes to Osama's followers: Stop bringing shame on Islam. Stop killing your own people. Stop bringing death and destruction on them. Osama forsook Mullah Omar who invited him into Afghanistan to give him protection. Bin Laden used Afghanistan for his own personal war against the west, the US, and Israel. This is not Islam , this is not Jihad. Restore Muslim integrity, end this now!

* Osama Bin Laden is now dead, he has betrayed Islam and defamed and betrayed Muslims and their religion. His personal vendetta against the west will continue fueled by his death and fought by extremists who have nothing else to do. Fighting the west gives them a purpose. If it is to stop Islam must step up and police itself.

Pockets of Muslims have had enough of the extreme Sharia rules and law. They have had enough of the senseless killing of themselves "good Muslims". What is happening in Libya after the senselss murder of their friend the U.S. Ambassador. The people have said enough is enough, we have had enough of your harsh rules and murdering of your own people. You must put down your weapons and join our army and society or else. This is beautiful, they must police themselves if we are ever to put an end to this. Power to the People!

We are looking at arming these rebels who turn around and run at the drop of a hat it seems. What is the guarantee that they are going to stand their ground and fight for their lives? They seem more like cry babies blaming everything on NATO and the west. They want us to do their fighting for them. They know the ruthless killer that is Gaddafi, they should have known he would not step down and they would have to fight to the death as he slaughtered their people.

We can't do this again. So far I am on Obama's side, I think he, NATO, the Arabian's and the AU have done the right thing. They did not wait during a year of slaughter as Clinton did in the Balkans, Obama did not go full bore and unilaterally as Bush did. It is already obvious that the no fly zone is a failure without the US running it. We can not get dragged into this further. We must get out now and the rebels must fight the good fight or die. We can not do this for them and Gaddafi is never going to step aside nor will his sons give up what they think is theirs.

Any way you look at it Kaddafi is no Mubarak and Egypt's army is not the army of blood thirsty mercenaries Kaddafi's Billions buys. They aren't going to be able to take out Gaddafi. He is going to keep slaughtering the "rats" The no fly zone stopped working when we handed it to the Brits and French though they seem to be doing better now the Bgabgo is capture and they can focus on Libya though I understand Gaddafi's forces are still flying and killing rebels.

I just see no way in hell that Moamar, Saif, any of the Gaddafi men, or his daughter for that matter are going to go anywhere. I believe we screwed up again unless France takes control on the ground. We can't do it and we are getting dragged into it!

I am all for dropping a MOAB (mother of all bombs) or a 30,000 pound bunker buster designed to dig 7 or 8 levels underground before exploding right in the middle of Gaddafi's 4 acre compound. I was just listening to Gaddafi's bitchy daughter speaking in Tripoli and Gaddafi hiding in a car while Loyalist planes circled overhead. What the heck is that in a supposed no fly zone? We are going to end up doing this ourselves I am afraid and what about Russia and China?

NATO and North Africa back in business in Libya, but will it make a difference? Nope!

Airstrikes blew up 11 tanks belonging to forces loyal to Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi as they approached Ajdabiya today, and 14 more were hit earlier on the outskirts of Misrata. NATO strikes also left craters in the road used by Qaddafi to resupply troops shelling Ajdabiya as South African president Jacob Zuma arrived in the capital of Tripoli for cease-fire talks.

Libya's rebels said a cease-fire plan proposed by the African Union and agreed to by Muammar Qaddafi won't be acceptable if it allows the ruler and his sons to retain power as they insist They will not step down period! Egypt and American special forces arming and training rebels, they have a chance now

Battles rage in Libya amid defections as Moammar Gadhafi's inner circle showed possible signs of cracking today, but heavily armed forces loyal to the Libyan leader continued pounding major cities.

I was listening to General Honore talking about the rebels calling for a cease fire. He said the rebels are looking for a cease fire from a point of weakness as they have been losing ground. I respect him but beg to differ. The front is fluid and he has not been keeping abreast of it. The rebels have more than a few things going for them of late. One is the viciousness of all the Gaddafi's.

I watched an interview of a family fleeing from Misrata and they were saying the houses around them were flattened by tanks and Gaddafi's forces were killing at will and en masse. I also noticed that Qatar has stepped up They must have recognized the rebels as they have struck a deal for oil in exchange they would supply arms, training and food and medical supplies.

It was evident on the battle field as the volunteers were in groups of 7 or 8 with a leader instructing them and the discipline and equipment to fight with. The rebels propositioned for a cease fire saying they wanted a regime change, they wanted all attacks to stop, they wanted the snipers gone, and demanded all Gaddafi forces to leave the cities to protect the Libyan citizens. I doubt if any of that will happen yet but believe the tide is with the rebels and they will eventually hold sway but believe they will have to fight all the way. I will just never stop worry about that mustard gas, other WMD, and those mad men still in control.

We are looking at arming these rebels who turn around and run at the drop of a hat it seems. What is the guarantee that they are going to stand their ground and fight for their lives? Also that would mean clothing feeding and paying them. Are we willing to spend another trillion dollars? I say we because I am sure we would get stuck with that too as well as the training which would make Obama a liar as he said there would be no boots on the ground.

We can't do this again. So far I am on Obama's side, I think he has done the right thing. He did not wait during a year of slaughter as Clinton did in the Balkans, He did not go full bore and unilaterally as Bush did. It is already obvious that the no fly zone is a failure without the US running it. We can not get dragged in further. We must get out now and the rebels must fight the good fight or die. We can not do this for them!

Any way you look at it Kaddafi is no Mubarak and Egypt's army is not the army of blood thirsty mercenaries Kaddafi's Billions buys. They aren't going to be able to take out Gaddafi. He is going to keep slaughtering the "rats" The no fly stopped working when we handed it to the Brits and French.

They want to arm the rebels now which means feed, pay, and training, and boots on the ground making Obama a liar. We already have 2 one trillion dollar Muslim wars going. We can not do a third and neither can Britain. France wants to recognize the rebels they should be the ground force it will be needed at the very least. We came to France's rescue in WW1, WW2, and Vietnam, I say three strikes you're out and let them do or die.

There are tanks in the center of the towns killing people as they sleep but what are we supposed to do? I remember from day one hearing that Egypt was arming the rebels. Well they better hurry up and the rebels are going to have to realize they have to do this themselves and it will not be easy. We needed help and it was France who gave it to us during our Revolution.

France is the one that recognized the rebels as the valid Government of Libya. France is the one who took the lead in instigating for the no fly zone and coming to the aid of the rebels. That said if there are to be ground forces to aid the rebels they should be Frances. I just do not want to have to pick up after them as we did in Vietnam and we know how well that went.

I just heard the first US fighter aircraft just went down. The pilot bailed out and was rescued by rebel forces. I hope and we will keep watching. Plus as some of us suspected I just heard a retired General say you can bet we have had special forces there from day one and there will eventually be ground forces but not ours. Damn!

We have to take out as much of Gaddafi's military capability as possible and get out of there. If France wants to hang around, good luck to them. While we are watching one town Gaddafi's thugs are in another machine gunning the people and laughing.

When we are gone those people better be prepared to fight to the death. Even if  Gaddafi was to be killed his sons are just as vile and ruthless as he is and the military seems more than happy to slaughter their own people unlike the Egyptions.

I fear for those people who want to go after Gaddafi themselves saying it is their fight, I remember from day one when Gaddafi said he has not begun to fight and there will be 200,000 dead. There is the mustard gas but I fear how far he will go to slaughter his people and stay in control of the Libya he plans on passing to his ruthless sons. While the world is confused as to what to do Gaddafi and his sons are not. Bad things are coming!

Where is this going to go? Do we want the rebels to win? I just don't see it happening on their own! Gaddafi is going to retaliate against us and the rebels any way you look at it. Remember Lockerbie!

Russia's prime minister is strongly criticizing the U.N. resolution allowing international use of force in Libya, saying it reminds him of the Crusades. That is pure BS! Putin wants us out as I do but he is justifying the fortification of Moscow. This is the first conflict I have been for not counting the Balkans. Did you see the decimation of the Gaddafi convoy on the way to slaughter civilians and blame it on us? We have to neutralize Gaddafi's murderous forces and get out, job done.
