African Union Force Makes Strides Inside Somalia as US intensifies its proxy fight against al-Shabab
Rebels in Somalia briefly take over key central town: The rebel fighters from Al-Shabaab launched their attacks on the town of Dhusamareb in central Somalia province of Galgaduud, which is controlled by pro-government militia group of Ahlu SunnahWaljama (ASWJ).
You may remember that Somalia has a new militia faction that is about the only group in the country to go against the al-Shabab and win. The Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama - followers of Sufism or mystical Islam - are mostly volunteering students who say they have no political ambitions beyond expelling al-Shabab from the capital, one district at a time.
I hope you watched the video. The leader of this group of young religious fighters is a Minister for the transitional Government. I am really impressed that there is a group of fighters dedicated to defeating Al Shabab and they are. That is the main reason why Al Shabab has admitted defeat and largely left. The young leader is their religious leader and very religious always taking time out to pray. He vows to disband when Al Shabab is defeated.
The radical group of Al-Shabaab took over the town following fierce battles with local militia fighters who were forced out of the town, but the ASWJ fighters regrouped and launched a counter- attack on the militants in the strategic town of Dhusamareb on the key road linking a number of other towns in the region.
Encircling Somalia
US intensifies its proxy fight against al-Shabab in Somalia: The Obama administration is intensifying its campaign against an al-Qaeda affiliate in Somalia by boosting the number of proxy forces in the war-torn country, expanding drone operations and strengthening military partnerships throughout the region.
In many ways, the American role in the long-running conflict in Somalia is shaping up as the opposite of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan: relatively inexpensive, with limited or hidden U.S. footprints.
Analysis - Ethiopia dragged reluctantly back into Somalia
African Union Force Makes Strides Inside Somalia: Their surprising success has put the African Union in the driver’s seat of an intensifying international effort to wipe out Somalia’s Shabab militants, once and for all. Kenya, Ethiopia, the United States, France, Djibouti, Burundi and Uganda have all jumped in to some degree against the Shabab, a brutal and wily insurgent group that is considered both a regional menace and an international threat, with possible sleeper cells embedded in Somali communities in the United States and Europe.
The Shabab have been terrorizing Somalia for years, imposing a harsh and alien form of Islam, chopping off heads and unleashing suicide bombers, including Somali-Americans recruited from Minnesota. But the African Union has dealt the Shabab a crippling blow in Mogadishu, which is what may have encouraged Kenyan and Ethiopian forces to recently invade separate parts of Somalia in an unusual regional effort to spread the Shabab thin on several fronts and methodically eliminate them.

Al Shabaab ready to negotiate
The US military has begun flying drone aircraft from a base in Ethiopia, as part of its fight against Islamist militants in neighbouring Somalia. Their role is surveillance of the al-Shabab militant group - based in Somalia, and already the focus of drone missions flown from other bases in the region.
Kenya Army Fight First Direct Battle With al-Shabaab; 9 Dead: Kenyan forces killed at least nine al-Shabaab fighters in their first engagement with the al-Qaeda- linked militia since beginning an incursion into the country 13 days ago, the army said. Two Kenyan soldiers were injured, one critically, in the fighting that took place yesterday near Tabda, about 470 kilometers (292 miles) southwest of the capital, Mogadishu, Major Emmanuel Chirchir, spokesman for the Kenya Defence Forces, said in an e-mailed statement. The Somalia towns of Busar and Buarahache were captured and an al-Shabaab logistical and training camp at Anole was also attacked, he said.
Official: Al-Shabaab leaders contact Kenyan government to negotiate: A Kenyan government official said Thursday that Al-Shabaab leaders are seeking negotiations as the nation pursues the Islamist militants deeper into Somalia. Kenyan troops struck several Al-Shabaab training sites early Thursday, a military spokesman said. The revelation comes nearly two weeks after the troops stormed Somalia to hunt for Al-Shabaab, a militant group Kenya blames for recent kidnappings of foreigners in the nation. The group includes many rival factions with different leaders.
Kenya's military is said to be the most professional in Africa but they have never been deployed in a war situation in the region and this will be the first time they will go after foreign combatants who have threatened Kenya's territorial integrity. The more the merrier!
Maj. Emmanuel Chirchir, said that the United States or France, or possibly both, had stepped up airstrikes killing a number of Shabab militants. The French Navy has also shelled rebel positions from the sea, Kenyan officials said. The United States and France have not confirmed involvement in Somalia.
If Western military powers have indeed joined the conflict, analysts said, it could mark a turning point against the Shabab, a ruthless militant group that has pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda. It controls much of southern Somalia, though its young fighters and battered pick-up trucks are deemed no match for a sophisticated army..
The world is closing in on Al Shabab I am happy to say. Al Shabab was offered Amnesty about a month ago and they better take it while they can.

Time to put them in overdrive as you will agree. Don't forget the Al Shabab killers Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamma
President Obama also ordered the deployment of 100 armed military advisers to central Africa to help regional forces combat the Lord’s Resistance Army, a notorious renegade group that has terrorized villagers in at least four countries with marauding bands that kill, rape, maim and kidnap with impunity. “For more than two decades, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) has murdered, raped and kidnapped tens of thousands of men, women and children in central Africa,” Mr. Obama wrote in a letter to Congress announcing the military deployment. “The LRA continues to commit atrocities across the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan that have a disproportionate impact on regional security.” .
We are supposedly winding down in Iraq and Afghanistan so I guess an upcoming war with Iran is not enough we now have to try to "cleanse" Africa of terrorists. WTF?

Kenya military join fight against Al Shabab with help from the US and France in Somalia
Kenya military join fight against Al Shabab with help from the US and France in Somalia: so the forever war continues to widen: Are we the terrorists?
The Kenya military has been ordered into action to stop al Shabab militia from further threatening the country's security and economy. At a press briefing on Saturday, the country's top security chiefs declared war on the terrorist organization operating from Somalia and said Kenyan security forces will henceforth pursue the aggressors across the border.
Kenyan troops have crossed the border into war-torn Somalia to attack Islamist al-Shabab rebels they accuse of being behind several recent kidnappings of foreigners. "We have crossed into Somalia in pursuit of al-Shahab, who are responsible for the kidnappings and attacks on our country," government spokesman Alfred Matua said on Sunday.

Somalia's government has offered an open amnesty to al-Shabab fighters after the rebels made a surprise withdrawal from the capital, Mogadishu, over the weekend."We offer an amnesty - put down your weapons and your guns, and come and join the people and your society," Abdirahman Osman, a government spokesman, was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency on Tuesday."For those who have been misled by the senior commanders, now is the time to end the war

Al Shabab: Somalis, we warn you, more serious blasts are coming. Time to put Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama into overdrive.
You may remember Somalia has a new militia faction that is about the only group in the country to go against the al-Shabab and win. The Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama - followers of Sufism or mystical Islam - are mostly volunteering students who say they have no political ambitions beyond expelling al-Shabab from the capital, one district at a time. Time to put them in overdrive as you will agree.
Al Shabab: Somalis, we warn you: keep away from government buildings and the bases of their soldiers, more serious blasts are coming. Kick them out of the damn country all together! Somalia's al-Shabab vows more attacks: The warning came after the armed anti-government group claimed responsibility for Tuesday's blast outside a government compound in Mogadishu, which killed at least 70 people and left many others wounded, officials and witnesses said. "Somalis, we warn you: keep away from government buildings and the bases of their soldiers, more serious blasts are coming," the Reuters news agency quoted Ali Mohamud Rage, an al-Shabab spokesman, as saying.
Al Shabab is the enemy of the people. Al Shabab not famine is responsible for Somalian genocide: Somalia is in the midst of a famine, suffering from the worst drought in 60 years. 29,000 Somali children have died within the past three months, and 100,000 Somalis are expected to die in the next few weeks. The al-Qaeda affiliate al-Shabab has destroyed the country, taking over much of the southern part of the country where it has imposed a strict version of Sharia law.
We discussed Al Shabab's splintering and what it meant. It is coming true! Government troops said they did not care why Al Shabab pulled out of Mogadishu? Al Shabab has fought hard and strong there for their gains even amongst other rebel groups. They did not just pull out for the UN and the starving people. The Government is now occupying Al Shabab bases and touting it as a victory. They better be very concerned. Remember it is easier to attack than to defend. Well, now they are going to raise hell with the Government but it is time to put Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama into overdrive.
Al Shabab in Somalia and Al Qaeda in Yemen are both reinforced by those fleeing the fight in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Somalia is a failed State and Yemen is rapidly headed towards being a failed State. They are perfect havens for Al Qaeda to set up new training camps in lawless regions.
Yemeni Al Qaeda previously sent arms and help to Al Shabab in their fight in Somalia. Al Shabab is reciprocating sending fighters to Yemen to help Yemeni Al Qaeda. Supposedly the so called experts say the three forces operating to destabilize Yemen from the North, South, and East will not join forces but you bet they will! Al Qaeda has been leaving Iraq, Afghanistan, and Mauritania; to use Yemen as their new base we in turn better meet them there with some kind of force. This entire so called terrorism war is barely beginning. This is not a war to end all wars but the war of all wars!
Be very concerned about what is happening in Yemen, Somalia, and the Gulf of Aden, the new front in the so called war on terror! Remember, it is better to attack than defend and Al Shabab can now go back on the attack in Mogadishu but knowing they did great damage to their reputation by starving Somali women and children a betting man would believe they left a skeleton crew in Somalia and the bulk are headed to Yemen to join the fight. I would be watching the Gulf of Aden and other countries where they may be going to get to Yemen. It is time to go into overdrive and get really tough!

Al Shabab defeating themselves in Somalia with help from Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama , what is next for them?
Somalia has a new militia faction that is about the only group in the country to go against the al-Shabab and win. The Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama - followers of Sufism or mystical Islam - are mostly volunteering students who say they have no political ambitions beyond expelling al-Shabab from the capital, one district at a time.
Killer Al Shabab is splintering: The unity that allowed the militant Islamist group Al Shabab to gain control of wide swaths of Somalia is in danger of breaking down amid widening famine and the recent loss of key bases in Mogadishu, the capital. The hunger crisis plaguing southern Somalia is hitting rural areas hardest, where the insurgents drew their greatest support
UN declares sixth famine zone in Somalia: Southern Somalia's Bay region is the latest region to be declared a famine zone, bringing to six the areas affected. Around 4 million Somalis – more than half of the population – are now in crisis in the drought-stricken country. The UN says 750,000 people are now at risk of death in the next four months if there is no adequate response, an increase from the July figure of 350,000. Job well done Al Shabab!
A leader from the Somali militant group al-Shabab says the group will pursue a guerrilla strategy like that seen in Afghanistan after their withdrawal from the capital and yes they did split but...
You better be very concerned that they did split and some are not headed to Yemen where they have a chance to raise hell and make a difference. The Government is now occupying Al Shabab bases and touting it as a victory. They better be very concerned. Remember it is easier to attack than to defend.
We are watching many countries in the Middle East erupt all at the same time and I am a bit perplexed at the warped amount of attention and coverage given. Syria is being given a lot of attention and Yemen not so much even now that it is openly erupting. I have to believe that is because Syria is Israel and Iran's neighbor. A democracy movement right there is no threat to Israel but it is to Iran.
However Syria is Sunni and Iran Shiite so you may think their interference in helping Syria kill civilians and quell the Democracy movement perplexing. There has been a proxy war being fought in Yemen for quite a while now and Iran has been in the forefront of it. What is happening in Yemen is of utmost importance to Iran, us, and the world.
With our air raids in the East, civil war looming in the north, pro-independence protests in the south and al-Qaeda in the background " background? where is Anwar Al- Awlaki?" threatening a wave of attacks on America, Yemen is today’s war. To top it off Yemen is running out of water! There is more Al Qaeda there than in Afghanistan, why are we in Afghanistan and not Yemen?
Al Qaeda has always been in Yemen but it has now become Al Qaeda central. Their principle targets are Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the US, allies and allies in this so called war on terror.
The Saudi and Yemen branches of Al Qaeda have joined forces and many outsiders are moving in to join the fight. We must act in kind! Yemen is on the verge of being a failed state as you already know. Yemen is on the Abyss and we must help them for own good! What to do? They have been dealing with terrorism and insurgencies for years! They are not a failed state but well on their way and may be tomorrow! Their attention has been on survival as a country.
As many of you know by now my prime concern in Yemen was the interference by Iran in trying to get Shiite dominance there. Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program.
The goal now absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!
In Yemen once again the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is the instigator. They are ferrying weapons through Eritrea to Yemen. They are now avoiding the Arabian Peninsula as Saudi Arabia has instituted a blockade along the coast of Yemen. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has also transported Lebanese Hezbollah fighters to fight with the rebels.
As you know, Saudi Arabia is also there fighting the Iranian backed Houthi rebels. So far there has been no direct confrontation. However I absolutely see what I have been warning about since Bush diverted from Afghanistan to attack Iraq and get back in the middle east to create a new middle east (dis)order! This is going to be total middle east war for a new middle east order like it or not, Sunni against Shiite.
It is looking like Yemen is going to be the first country down! The Middle East is right to be concerned. Yemen is going through severe domestic turmoil due to the violent activities of Al Qaeda, Houthi rebels in the north and the Southern Movement in the south. The remaining Jews are threatened with slaughter by the Shiite. How much longer can Yemen hold on? What is next?
Al Shabab in Somalia and Al Qaeda in Yemen are both reinforced by those fleeing the fight in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Somalia is a failed State and Yemen is rapidly headed towards being a failed State. They are perfect havens for Al Qaeda to set up new training camps in lawless regions.
