As Scorn for Government Grows, Protests Surge even in the United States and this is just beginning. Our future is bleak
As Scorn for Vote Grows, Protests Surge: Hundreds of thousands of disillusioned Indians cheer a rural activist on a hunger strike. Israel reels before the largest street demonstrations in its history. Enraged young people in Spain and Greece take over public squares across their countries. Their complaints range from corruption to lack of affordable housing and joblessness, common grievances the world over. But from South Asia to the heartland of Europe and now even to Wall Street, these protesters share something else: wariness, even contempt, toward traditional politicians and the democratic political process they preside over.
The United States is not exempt either. As our situation degrades and millions more suffer the demise of a failing society more and more average Americans will start coming out in protest. The US military has trained to deal with domestic anarchism and we have the facilities in the FEMA concentration camps
‘Occupy Wall Street’ Protests Turn Violent; Video Shows Police Macing Women
Turkey to press ahead with sanctions against Syria: In the absence of UN security council action, Turkey's move could be decisive in a six-month standoff between Syrian security forces and anti-government activists which has seen more than 2,700 civilian deaths and sharply destabilized the region. Erdogan is preparing for a range of economic, military and political sanctions which will further damage the once-close relationship between the two states.
Men-Only Election Shows Limits of Saudi Reply to Arab Spring: Saudi Arabia excluded most adult citizens from today’s municipal elections, betting that a limited ballot coupled with $130 billion of extra spending will be enough to halt Arab unrest at the kingdom’s borders.
Women weren’t entitled to stand as candidates or cast votes in the ballot, which closed at 5 p.m. local time, and the councilors chosen by Saudi men age 21 and over who aren’t in the military will enjoy few powers. Still, the fact that the ballot took place is an advance from two years ago, when the election was first due and King Abdullah postponed it.
Bahrain Sentences Medical Workers for Treating Protesters: A security court in the Gulf state of Bahrain has sentenced 20 doctors and medics to long jail sentences for treating wounded demonstrators during unrest earlier this year. The court sentence is expected to further enrage the kingdom's restive Shiite majority, which has been protesting the rule of the country's minority Sunni leadership.
Following the way the Shiite majority is stepped on by the Sunni minority was a striking parallel to the way the Republican minority pushes around the Democratic minority here in the US. No wonder the Republicans have remained silent over what has been going on in Bahrain.
* I was listening to one of the organizers of the Wall Street protests saying this is our Arab spring, we the average citizens of every country regardless of ethnicity are fighting for the same thing. We are all fighting because we are being lied to , controlled, we have no jobs, no food, we have no future. In Yemen, Syria, and Bahrain they are being stepped on and killed.
They are protesting in Europe for the same reasons. The entire world is feeling the pinch even China who has been taking measures against its citizens for months. China as you can surmise is starting to hurt because its biggest customers the EU and the US are in trouble. I warned years ago for countries to stop wishing for the US demise because today we are all intertwined, the leader goes down we all go down.
What is happening in Europe and the Arab spring countries will happen here. The weak always feel the hurt first and we have been pretty weak over the last ten years because of our grotesque governing in the first place. Average citizens of the world have hit the breaking point. The Wall street protests have spread to Boston and around the country with promises to get results.
We are all peeved. As our plight worsens at the hands of our grossly inadequate bickering mis-government even in the US the breaking point in many instances has been hit. The worlds Governments and the worlds citizens will pay the price. Anarchy is our future.

The movement grows exponentially every day. I'm working on a post about this myself today but since it is growing so fast it is hard to keep track.
I'm on the fence as to the outcome on all this. Those at the top both political and corporate may think that things can be kept at status quo but considering this has global implications with nearly all countries involved there will be a tipping point in short order if drastic measures aren't used soon. Either the governments will act or the masses will. I am somewhat optimistic that such a movement just might come up with solutions aside from government solutions.
We may be witnessing the beginnings of a new nation and a new world order.
As for your FEMA concentration death camps, take off the tin foil hat. This was a republican talking point when the federal budget for FEMA was passed some years back. In that budget was a plan for what to do with a large population of displaced people in the event of a natural disaster. We saw the response from Katrina where 1 million people were displaced from the Gulf. We saw how disastrous that plan went.
So ask yourself. How would you deal with that many people in short order? We saw how they were crammed into sports stadiums in Texas and how poorly the rescue operation went.
The right wing has taken this issue and ran with it. I'm sorry you bought into it. It was the same thing with "death panels". A consultation to establish a life directive does not constitute a "death panel".
I think you're right Demeur! People have had enough. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Thing that sucks is I don't think politicians care and the banks are still lining up to charge a minimum of $6o per month to use your money. Citicorp $15 a month. This won't be short or good.
I belong to a group that is pretty hot on this, I can put you in to be a member or whatever they do if you want. Gwendolyn is doing her show on it tonight I think.
I remember that with Bush but I have heard them mentioned a couple times already in reference to this. Merely listening!
Thanx for the posting Jim and Good Morning/ Evening ... of course I myself have been writing about this stuff since I got my first computer here as far as the economic's myself and what they will result in, folk's can deny it and think whatever, I am confident in this assessment. As far as the death camp thing, I havent seen the video so Thanx, but I heard some local talk about that stuff, including how the freewayz ae designed so you cant U- Turn or whatever here in the Metroplex, etc ... to me Jim, it's just mainly paranoia talk, but at the same time, they are going to have massive incarceration facility issue's in time, because they will simply have to incarcerate alot of folk's, but at the same time will will see much more slave labour type chain gang's, they will call working off penalties. What alot of folk's wont realize immediately is that they will also have to indirectly pay privatized institution's inflated revenue's to fund this as well. Put it this way Jim, there is a 101 wayz to get those who you may not want or consider as a burden to society to die off without being so obvious and at the same time, make a large portion of dumb masses believe it's for their good, alot of folk's will believe just about anything ... but alot the number's of resistance will increase dramatically ... but enough for me, that's what I have a journal mfor, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh : ) My daughter spent a lil time down in the financial district (Wall St) last week shooting me back alot of photo's of the action, most of it looked fairly peaceful, at least more peaceful than it need's to be in my opinion, in time though many will wake up to the score, just right now, the fact that the majority of American's are working and just being cut is not enough for Hell to break loose, and this is very healthy overall Jim, as crazy as that sound's. Why? Because for year's Jim we just keep embracing the same ole same and supporting the same ole leadership and rehashing the same ole issue's and problem's over and over ... you simply cant truely change doing that.
Word Out, have a good un Bud ....
Hi RC nice to see you! I have been a bit busy and going through some kind of change. They use to call them death camps under bush as Demeur pointed out but every time something that promotes anti government rancor happens which is every day now, participants think they will end up in them.
Someone here will but who is the question and to be controlled not killed. We are not immune from the breakdown occurring and the rancor with the piss poor Government and our increasingly tenable position is barely beginning.
