The Occupy Movement: what's your slogan? : How about "Put your frigging words where our mouths are"!

Poorest Poor in US Hits New Record: 1 in 15 People now Forty House Republicans Back Revenue Increases to Cut Deficit: The Occupy Movement: what's your slogan? : How about Put your frigging words where our mouths are!

The Occupy Movement: what's your slogan? : The self-styled “leaderless resistance movement” is something of an umbrella group for protesters with their own, local axes to grind. But the focus of demonstrators’ anger is the economic state of the world. As the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon put it, “people are showing their frustrations.”

Banners have been raised from New York to the Netherlands, from Quebec to Cape Town and Canberra all expressing the desire for a different world economy. euronews is inviting you to choose the slogan that you think best sums up the Occupy Movement. You can even suggest your own slogans or simply vote for your favorite among those suggested by others on the euronews facebook page.

euronews facebook page.

If jobs are top priority, why can't Congress pass a jobs bill? The Senate rejected (again) two bills to create jobs by building roads and bridges on near party-line votes (again). Yes, both parties want the same thing, but Election 2012 is getting in the way.

Poorest Poor in US Hits New Record: 1 in 15 People: The ranks of America's poorest poor have climbed to a record high — 1 in 15 people — spread widely across metropolitan areas as the housing bust pushed many inner-city poor into suburbs and other outlying places and shriveled jobs and income.

Forty House Republicans Back Revenue Increases to Cut Deficit: Forty House Republicans signaled support for revenue increases, joining 60 Democrats yesterday to urge a congressional supercommittee seeking a $1.5 trillion debt-reduction deal to aim for cuts of $4 trillion.

Colorado tax defeat a signal of voters' sour mood: An off-year tax vote in Colorado this week likely sent a powerful message to policymakers nationwide who are wondering if voters will consider paying more for services they say they they want. The answer: No way.

Tax the frigging sickeningly rich and do your frigging job. Take care of we the people.

Extreme poverty on the rise in Tulsa County: An increasing portion of Tulsa's poor population is living in "poverty belts" - areas where more than 40 percent of the population is below the federal poverty level.

That concentration of need means some 10,000 local residents not only suffer from their own lack of income, but also find that the educational, health and crime cards are stacked against them ever getting to a better station, according to a report released this week by the Brookings Institution.

Nationally, the study found that the number of people living in poverty belts rose by one-third over the course of the last decade, led by growth in the Midwest and South and in suburban areas. The study also found the residents of extreme poverty neighborhoods are increasingly likely to be white and native-born U.S. citizens.

I do not have to say much as we are all watching the fascist Republican scum ride rough shod over our hapless Democratic leaders. True to their words "if their is going to be any compromise it is going to come from Democrats because we are taking care of the wealthy and decimating the lives of those in need as they believe they get too much.

The protesters around the world are sick of being ignored in every regard while Politicians and corporations play their selfish games. We have foreclosures at 15 million. There are 43 million on food stamps and that number will continue to grow as this gets worse unless they are discontinued by the Superfluous committee who will screw the people more.

7 million jobless, wealthy being protected while more is being taken from those in need, the finance industry and other large corporations got their needless bailout while ours in the form of infrastructure rebuilding and jobs is again denied by not just Republicans, those on food stamps is already a record 43 million, and the number of uninsured is at 50 million and will only grow because Republicans will sere to it and blame it on Obama.

You will never find an honest number of homeless because many live in tent cities, shelters, friends homes, their cars in parking lots. I kept coming up with a homeless number of around 500,000 for the entire country which is laughable. As was the case with Bush the way of counting the homeless has been changed to make the picture look rosier than it is.

Any way you look at it we have a population of 312 million with over 100 million in dire straights while the frigging Politicians fight like spoiled children to make it worse in a way that would benefit their party.

We are not rabble rousers as being depicted we are loyal Americans, we are family being ignored and trying to be thrown away. What would be your slogan for the occupy movement? You saw mine, live in another man's shoes would work too but no nothing will work but a fight and I am sick that it is coming to this.

Germany and Turkey celebrate 50 years of their ground-breaking Labour Pact: Turkey has proven herself, let Turkey join the EU?

Germany & Turkey celebrate 50 years of their ground-breaking Labour Pact, the process signed in October 1961 that opened the gates to Turkish migrants to Germany as guest workers.

Turkey will strengthen the EU and garner badly needed points from the Muslim world but there would be great negatives too for both the EU and Turkey.Turkey must join EU, says UK PM I agree Turkey will strengthen the EU and garner badly needed points from the Muslim world but I think there would be great negatives too and for both the EU and Turkey.

Turkey in the Crossroads or cross hairs: A model for the middle east to follow or a set-up for additional future middle east crisis? In the 1920s, with the Ottoman Empire in ruins, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk imposed Western laws, replaced Arabic script with the Latin alphabet, banned Islamic dress and granted women the right to vote.

The ruling party, however, has supported religious schools and tried to lift the ban on Islamic head scarves in public offices and schools. Secularists are also uncomfortable with the idea of Gul's wife, Hayrunisa, being in the presidential palace because she wears the traditional Muslim head scarf.''We don't want a covered woman in Ataturk's presidential palace,'' said Ayse Bari, a 67-year-old housewife. ''We want civilized, modern people there.''

With the Religious fervor having been awoken in my mind largely by Bush's attack on Iraq and our intrusion into middle east politics wherever we can and the ever growing call for a return to Islamic values in the middle east and in the entire Islamic world I find it spectacular that Turkey believes it can go its own way and be allowed to be secular and hopefully become a member of the EU. Turkey wikepedia

We have discussed Turkey and its efforts to join the EU often as well as its importance to Europe, the US, Russia, Iran, the middle east and the world many times over the years. We just discussed this! We need Turkey, the EU needs Turkey, the world needs Turkey. However the US and the EU as you know has long frustrated Turkey. Supposedly she is turning towards Iran but while we tighten sanctions and money Iran is using Turkey to fill the void but in the end Iran as you know will go her own way and Turkey will stay with us. Earlier this year Turkey getting increasingly frustrated in her efforts to join the EU had lobbied Germany for their help in gaining membership.

I again reiterate the whole story: Turkey's future is tied to a pipeline! It really drives me crazy but the more you research the more you realize all throughout the middle east, Georgia, Afghanistan, everywhere, all the wars and controversy can be tied back to gas and oil. Russia's interest in Iran in numerous and as such is not singular to nuclear cooperation. You might have already known Russia was also interested in Iran's gas and oil but an interesting possible relationship and cooperation just dawned on me.

I am sure you remember Russia creating a crisis a couple years back shutting off Europe's gas and oil supply after its confrontation with Georgia, that and the fact that Turkey has long desired and endeavored to become a member of the European Union. This opens up a win, win for all involved!

Tell me what you think about this: Center pin Turkey, King pin Russia, center pin Iran! Winner US, European Union, Iran, Russia, and all our union and future! Remember the missile defense shield President Obama killed as an issue by switching to the Aegis? The missile Defense shield was starting to look like a necessity with N Korea in pressing on missiles capable of carrying war heads and the ability to reach Hawaii or so we hear. Iran we still do not know about but they will not compromise their nuclear desires so with a responsible credible ally if Russia is one, the responsibility to ensure Iran's real intentions would be there's under scrutiny of course. There is room here.

** The winners in all this is everyone, but Turkey and the EU above all! Russia wants the franchise for Iran's gas and oil! Turkey is at the crossroads of the middle east and the European Union. This is a major point for compromise in all our problems! Give Russia the franchise, the EU lets Turkey join in turn for Turkey allowing a pipeline from Iran through Turkey into the EU. Everyone wins! A win, win for all and a chance for us to move into the future as one.

I reiterate the future is up to a pipeline! In the Middle East we have been living a total lie from 9/11 on! You have not heard the truth once! Not on the events of 9/11, the Anthrax attacks which scared Congress to pass the so called Patriot Act and give Bush the abusive power he needed to attack Afghanistan for not allowing his pipeline through Afghanistan. The only remaining obstacle on 9-11 was the remaining agreement between the Taliban and Bridas Corporation. The Bush Administration, Congress, many in our major media, and even the 9-11 Commission and Cheney Energy Task Force all know about Bridas Corporation because that Argentine oil and gas company was standing in the way of our US oil companies and UK oil companies. The Caspian Basin oil is landlocked and there are only so many ways to get that oil out of the ground, to the ocean ports and into your gas tanks or home heating oil tanks.

What a coincidence huh? There is the direct route from Turkmenistan across Iran to the ocean, but that is not politically popular since the overthrow of the Shah of Iran many years ago. There is: 1.) the route across the Caspian Sea westward, which is extremely costly; and through Azerbaijan through Turkey to the Mediterranean; and 2.) from Turkmenistan through Georgia to the Black Sea; and 3.) through the Ukraine to Europe; and 4.) the Turkmenistan through Afghanistan and Pakistan to the ocean. Until one of those solutions was in place, the holes being drilled into the ground by British Petroleum, Chevron, Exxon and others could not go anywhere and could not produce revenues for those companies. A route northward through Russia would put US oil companies at risk to changes in Russian politics and the Eastward route through China was not deemed secure enough since China is soon to become the second largest user of petroleum in the world after the United States.

Lastly Many of us have said numerous times that Bush was advised before hand that if he attacked Iraq he would destabilize the Middle East. He knew before he ignored all good advice that the neighbors would get involved and they are. He knew that it was most likely that Iraq would be divvied up between the Kurds, the Sunni's, and the Shiite and it will be. In the past I have written extensively the entire Middle East would blow and then the entire world would be involved in war.

I know that both Turkey and Iran are fighting Kurds that are looking for Autonomy but never really thought that a free Kurdistan would encompass areas of Iran and Turkey as well as Iraq. Knowing the close American Kurdish relationship I really have to rethink what Bush's real goal was here after I discovered an old story. Tell me what you think!

Kurdistan Observer: A Free Kurdistan! Recent nuances and nudges in government policy as well as tacit support for the most obscene anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism by the ruling political party of Turkey ought to cause the United States to begin to rethink its comprehensive policy toward Asia in general and toward one non-Arab minority in Iraq in particular: the Kurds. What, today, is the most intractable political problem in Iraq? It is the very real political and religious aims of Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish regions of the nation. Since the inception of Operation Iraqi Freedom, President Bush maintained that the unity of the nation of Iraq was non-negotiable. In politics and in war, however, nothing should be non-negotiable.

This sounds vaguely familiar but Iraq is not a nation in any real sense, it was rather three separate concentration camps each with differing degrees of oppression. An answer? Maybe but there are numerous counties involved and they all want their answer as a result there will be none I am afraid because peace and prosperity is not the goal but getting ones way and individual National Sovereignty is!

The US needs Turkey for its Middle East policy but it is obvious the rest of the world does too. Turkey and the world are at a crossroads which way will we go!? Let Turkey join the European Union! There are drawbacks as membership would give them freedom in the rest of the member countries but it can be managed and I think there are more positives than negatives.

Sarkozy calls Netanyahu a liar as Israel and Iran says they are ready to go to war

Iran says they are ready for war Amid Reports Israeli Cabinet Debating attacking Iran

US 'absolutely' concerned Israel will attack Iran:Senior military official says unsure Israel would inform US of plans to strike Iran, US carefully monitoring Israel and Iran for signs of military activity ahead of IAEA report.

When all the instigation in the links below is read and done they have done their job as Iran 'is ready for war': Tehran vows to retaliate if Israel and the West attack nuclear plants

Israel to speed up settlement construction: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday called for speeding up the construction of 2,000 housing units in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.According to a senior Israeli official, the plan involves building 1,650 units in East Jerusalem and the rest in the West Bank settlements of Efrat and Maaleh Adumin.

The construction will take place in areas that are expected to be part of Israeli territory in any future peace agreement, and there is no contradiction between it and the various peace plans that have been on the table, the official said. Palestinians claim the land Israel occupied in East Jerusalem and the West Bank after the 1967 war as part of a future Palestinian state.
This will only make matters worse with not only the Palestinians but Iran and Syria at a time when Israel is openly debating an attack on Iran.

Israel Test Fires Missile Amid Reports Cabinet Debating Iran: Netanyahu is pressing his Cabinet to support possible action against Iran, though he still doesn’t have a majority, Israeli media, including the Haaretz newspaper, reported. Senior ministers said an International Atomic Energy Agency report due to be released next week will have an impact on the discussions, the newspaper said.

“The people making the decisions in Israel about such an issue are responsible enough that if we were really poised to take a strike on Iran, we wouldn’t be making a lot of noise about it,” said Shmuel Bar, director of studies at the Institute for Policy and Planning at the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center in Israel. Israeli officials may be acting to put pressure on the U.S. to increase efforts to halt Iran’s nuclear program, he said.

US, EU criticize Israeli plans to speed W. Bank building: The United States and European Union both expressed concern and disappointment on Wednesday at Israel's decision to accelerate settlement building in response to the Palestinians' acceptance to UNESCO. Israel does not care what anyone says, they know when push comes to shove the United States will be there to pick up the gauntlet for them.

I reiterate, Israel will never share Jerusalem and can not accept a nuclear Iran and will attack. Whoever is President will come to their rescue! Once again war will occur to prevent war. That makes sense yeah! Again as I keep saying, at one time the threat of mutual destruction use to be a deterrence. Today it seems to be the goal.

I have to reiterate something I have said too many times since Bush chose to ignore all warnings of total civil war spreading throughout the entire Middle East so he could attack Iraq and straighten out the Middle East as God spoke to him and instructed him to. You know I firmly believe and have said so a million times by now that since 9/11 everything was construed to allow Bush to gain the power he needed to prosecute his new order not just in the Middle East but on the entire world! He diverted from Afghanistan to get back into the Middle East with the goal of setting up a larger safety zone for Israel and going after Iran. As expected this democratization started by Bush has taken on a life of its own.

I still see a total civil war Sunni against Shiite erupting in the Middle East because Bush freed up Iran to instigate it on their end and they are. I still am concerned we will have a permanent presence in the Middle East but feel we will have to largely leave Iraq to her own demise. We will still be there but it looks like Yemen, and the Gulf of Aden will be the prime focus unless Iran gets something going between the US and Iran and do not forget Israel.

Saddam Hussein with his lies about possessing WMD kept Iran in check. Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with their chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.

The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!

Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran!

The entire middle east and north Africa and our more than century of interference and exploitation can take the blame for that too. Planting our military in the middle of the mess Bush has created out of the Middle East because of his failed Democratization program is going to be a Custer's Last Stand on a grand scale if we are still there when this breaks open! Looking at the war cabinet Obama has amassed I am going to say at this point that this is going to happen even under a President Obama.

Everyone in the Middle East wants their way period and there will never be peace the way the United States wants it. The total Middle East breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

A time line: Muhammad cartoons Muslim extremists will not let die

Attack on French satirical paper: It comes a day after the publication named the Prophet Muhammad as its "editor-in-chief" for its next issue. Its cover carried a caricature of the Prophet making a facetious comment.

Muslim cartoon row timeline: The BBC News website outlines key events in the escalating row over the publication of cartoons satirising the Prophet Muhammad.

Danish paper apologized long ago for printing Muhammad cartoon

You may know but I did a diary on this subject five years ago. However with all the blogs and reporting on them and the results of printing them one very important point among many has yet to be mentioned. First I have to question the wisdom of the Danish paper for getting involved with this in the first place knowing the volatile state of relations between Muslims and the west and the seriousness in which most Muslims take to having Muhammad blasphemed.

Just what religion if any is the person who gave the okay to print anyway? Also supposedly freedom of speech was the issue which motivated the printing but in reality what was the real motivation behind it? Protests, riots, and deaths, continue to increase and worsen around the world. What else could possibly have been expected?

I agree with free speech. I also believe to each his or her own. Leave well enough alone that works too. Above all I believe in engaging brain before acting. Just what was the thought process if any in the first place. We have freedom of speech yes! I think it is too late but we have to think about the consequences of exercising it at least for the moment at a time when we should be trying to quell anti western feelings not fueling the fire.

It seems to me like these cartoons have done the trick for Muslim extremists anyway. They have succeeded in uniting Muslims where we have until now failed to do with our ineptitude in dealing with the Muslim world. We have finally united the majority of Muslims against the west and we now have take off. I ask again, what could have possibly been the expected outcome and whose side was this Danish paper on in the first place?

If you do not Remember the Danish cartoons about Muhammad printed more than now 6 years ago Here they are

Also, remember the US charged a Chicago man in the 2008 Mumbai attack? I mention it because he also tried to attack the Danish newspaper that published the Muhammad cartoons: Two days prior to that I republished by coincidence the cartoons of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad published in early October 2005 in a Danish newspaper as they outraged Muslim’s around the world and that was only one of the many things we keep doing to seemingly taunt Islam. What took them so long to apologize for their insensitivity?

Regardless it is too late! This as most know is just one of many issues the extremists will continue to use to drum up anti- west sentiment to keep UBL's personal anti Muslim and anti west vendetta alive.

A US drone strike in north-west Pakistan has killed two to FIVE KEY top commanders "and then some" of one of Pakistan's most influential Taliban groups

Top militants 'dead' in Pakistan: A US drone strike in north-west Pakistan has killed two top commanders of one of Pakistan's most influential Taliban groups, officials say. Suspected U.S. unmanned aircraft fired six missiles at a vehicle in Pakistan's rugged tribal region Thursday, killing five militants, including a close ally to one of the area's top commanders, Pakistani intelligence officials said. The attack in the South Waziristan tribal area killed Khan Mohammed, also known as Sathai, deputy leader of a group of militants led by Maulvi Nazir, the officials said. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media, said Mohammed was also Nazir's cousin. The strike also killed one of Nazir's brothers, Hazrat Omar, they said.

Nazir is one of the most powerful militant commanders in the tribal region and is accused of working with the Taliban and al-Qaida to stage attacks against foreign troops in neighboring Afghanistan. He is believed to have close relations with Pakistani intelligence and agreed to stay neutral when the military invaded South Waziristan in 2009 to fight the Pakistani Taliban, who have focused their attacks against the Pakistani state. I hear it was 6 or 7 key commanders killed!

According to sources, a drone fired missiles at a vehicle that killed five commanders including Nazir's brother. The commander identified four of the commanders as Hazrat Omar, Nazir's younger brother, Khan Mohammad, Miraj Wazir and Ashfaq Wazir. Nazir's faction focuses on attacking US-led NATO troops across the border in Afghanistan.

Security sources said there was strong evidence that Taj Gul Mehsud, a senior Taliban commander and close aide to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader Hakimullah Mehsud, was among the victims in the attack Wednesday. I thought Hakimullah was killed more than a year ago but this is great news!

And newer: Suspected US drone strike kills 6 alleged militants in Pakistan’s tribal region, say officials: Suspected U.S. unmanned aircraft fired six missiles at a vehicle in Pakistan’s tribal region near the Afghan border Sunday, killing six alleged militants, Pakistani intelligence officials said. The high number of missiles used in the attack in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan seemed to indicate an important militant was targeted. But the identities of those killed were as yet unknown, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. I can't wait to find out who was killed in this attack!

As we know for a fact though they deny it, the ISI has trained and armed any tribe or group of militants who desire to take down Afghanistan and kill and remove "the infidels" from the area. ISI arming and training anti American anti afghan forces

I always thought the Haqqani's were the most powerful group trying to take back Afghanistan and force NATO and the West to leave. However they are largely being decimated and are being forced to the bargaining table. Here

When all is said and done With the death of Osama Bin Laden we were asked what his death would mean for the war in Afghanistan. Like the so called war on terror which includes the Taliban, Al Qaeda of every creed, and extremists of every ilk looking to carry on Osama's vendetta against the west, it has served to fuel their cause. With that said with so much emphasis on killing the Haqqani's I forgot about the other groups we are fighting. I am glad to see we have not and have not dropped the ball.

The Taliban and Al Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan think they are getting away with something but they are being watched closely by JSOC ready to pounce and take them out when given the command. At the rate they are now being killed I would say the order has been given and we are still holding back hoping we can kill enough of their top leaders to convince them to come to the bargaining table.

I originally wanted the top leaders taken out first but I think we are doing this right. Keep the top leaders and let us get out and they will then be able to hold the tribes and their interests together. I just want us out! Our soldiers have done a superb job and we should never have put boots on the ground but exclusively used drones.

Kenya and Somalia want more military help against Al-Shabaab from the United States and NATO

Kenya, Somalia look for international help to fight Al Shabab: At a meeting in Nairobi, Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali of the Somali Transitional Federal Government asked for international naval support to blockade the Al Shabab-controlled port town of Kismayo in Somalia, reports The New York Times. The Islamist organization is thought to get as much as half of its income from businesses in Kismayo, CNN reports, citing United Nations estimates.
Though Kenya and Somalia's joint appeal for aid did not single out any specific countries or organizations, the Times writes that a Somali spokesman said that his country would be interested in help from NATO, which just ended its Libya operations. And a Kenyan official said that the two countries had already approached the US and European nations for assistance.
We are helping them already, they mean they want more help! I do agree we should do it. Hit them in the wallet now as should have been the first thing done not the last.

The US military has already begun flying drone aircraft from a base in Ethiopia, as part of its fight against Islamist militants in neighboring Somalia. Their role is surveillance of the al-Shabab militant group - based in Somalia, and already the focus of drone missions flown from other bases in the region.

Official: Though they have denied it Al-Shabaab leaders contact Kenyan government to negotiate: A Kenyan government official said Thursday that Al-Shabaab leaders are seeking negotiations as the nation pursues the Islamist militants deeper into Somalia. Kenyan troops struck several Al-Shabaab training sites early Thursday, a military spokesman said. The revelation comes nearly two weeks after the troops stormed Somalia to hunt for Al-Shabaab, a militant group Kenya blames for recent kidnappings of foreigners in the nation. The group includes many rival factions with different leaders.

Maj. Emmanuel Chirchir, said that the United States or France, or possibly both, had stepped up airstrikes killing a number of Shabab militants. The French Navy has also shelled rebel positions from the sea, Kenyan officials said. The United States and France have not confirmed involvement in Somalia.

If Western military powers have indeed joined the conflict, analysts said, it could mark a turning point against the Shabab, a ruthless militant group that has pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda. It controls much of southern Somalia, though its young fighters and battered pick-up trucks are deemed no match for a sophisticated army.

The world is rapidly closing in on Al Shabab I am happy to say. Al Shabab was offered Amnesty about a month ago and they better take it while they can.

We are supposedly winding down in Iraq and Afghanistan and officially called a successful end to our military involvement in Libya

so I guess an upcoming war with Iran is not enough we now have to try to "cleanse" Africa of terrorists. WTF? I see no end but still just the beginning of a "war" against radical Islam that will go on for many generations unless the extremists call an end to it as they can but never will. So?

Syria's Assad says intervention will burn region as the US prepares to do just that

Amid calls for western intervention and a no fly zone Syria's Assad says intervention will burn region as the US prepares to do just that
Syria's Assad says intervention will burn region: Syrian President Bashar Assad warned against Western intervention in his country's 7-month-old uprising, saying such action would trigger an "earthquake" that "would burn the whole region." Assad comments, published in an interview with Britain's Sunday Telegraph, were made against a backdrop of growing calls from anti-regime protesters for a no-fly zone over Syria and increasingly frequent clashes between government troops and army defectors, which left at least 30 troops dead late Saturday. "Syria is the hub now in this region. It is the fault line, and if you play with the ground you will cause an earthquake," Assad said. "Do you want to see another Afghanistan, or tens of Afghanistan's?" Yes they do! That is the reason Iraq was illegally attacked in the first place. Cheney was Behind New Mideast War Drive: Executive intelligence Report, Return of `Clean Break'

U.S. to boost Gulf presence after Iraq: The Obama administration plans to bolster the American military presence in the Persian Gulf after it withdraws the remaining troops from Iraq this year, according to officials and diplomats. That repositioning could include new combat forces in Kuwait able to respond to a collapse of security in Iraq or a military confrontation with Iran.: In addition to negotiations over maintaining a ground combat presence in Kuwait, the United States is considering sending more naval warships through international waters in the region. With an eye on the threat of a belligerent Iran, the administration is also seeking to expand military ties with the six nations in the Gulf Cooperation Council — Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. While the United States has close bilateral military relationships with each, the administration and the military are trying to foster a new “security architecture” for the Persian Gulf that would integrate air and naval patrols and missile defense. Back in 2007 we thought this war would get going so we had 5 aircraft carriers in the Gulf and the Charles DeGaulle was guarding the mouth!

Also a while back: At the same time as it denies cooperating with preparations for a potential Israeli attack on Iran, Saudi Arabia prepares for strike of its own. Saudi Arabia’s air force has signed a deal to upgrade its fleet of 150 strike aircraft and procure advanced weaponry to respond to an Iranian military threat while simultaneously denying reports that the country is coordinating with Israel over a possible strike against Iran’s nuclear sites.

“The Saudis are very worried about the growing power of Iran,”I use to be concerned that the old confrontation would erupt in war between Iran and at the least US armed Saudi Arabia?

You can not blame them but I had no idea the dissension goes all the way back to the naming of the Gulf. Saudi’s know it as the Gulf of Arabia and I can remember that but Iran calls it the Persian Gulf as the rest of us seem to now.

Both Iran and Saudi Arabia have been using Lebanon as their battlefront up to now able to avoid direct confrontation. Iran has pumped millions of dollars in supplies and arms much to the consternation of her suffering people while Saudi Arabia has been supporting the Palestinian Authority. In Syria Iran has been helping the Shiite Bashar minority kill protesters while you can bet Saudi Arabia if not Al Qaeda has been helping the Sunni majority oppressed by Bashar.

So far there has been no direct confrontation. However I absolutely saw what I have been warning about since Bush diverted from Afghanistan to attack Iraq and get back in the middle east to create a new middle east (dis)order! I do not give a damn what anyone says. Bush Cheney and their Democratization program in an already historically unstable middle east set all of this and more in motion!

The hell on earth Bush created for Iraqi’s will engulf the entire Middle East before it encompasses the entire world if we can not contain it. Under Bush we broke a long standing tradition of not adding fuel to the Middle East fire by supplying weapons. We are now, including advanced weaponry and missile defense systems. The Middle East breakdown Bush started armed and funded continues under Obama. This up to now proxy war in the middle east is under way and Saudi Arabia is hoping Israel keeps Iran busy until the US is forced to come to their rescue as you know they will. Wait, watch, and listen, this is not good for the world and our future!

Israeli intelligence experts say that Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan are at least as worried as themselves and the West about an Iranian nuclear arsenal.Israel has sent missile-class warships and at least one submarine capable of launching a nuclear warhead through the Suez Canal for deployment in the Red Sea within the past year, as both a warning to Iran and in anticipation of a possible strike.

When all is said and done we hear our navy is not over extended and I disagree but their assets will be used here but it would be tough on the country at a bad time. Food, gas and oil, will be rationed but as you know I have said before, knowing a nuclear Iran would to common sensed eyes mean a power balance in the middle east you have to come to the conclusion that is not wanted.

Israel will never accept a nuclear Iran and will attack. Whoever is President will come to their rescue! Once again war will occur to prevent war. That makes sense yeah! Again as I keep saying, at one time the threat of mutual destruction use to be a deterrence. Today it seems to be the goal.

Iran and Syria seem to be welcoming our response as they are also influencing the Shiite leadership in Iraq and eager to impress their version of a new Middle East order which Bush set in motion by attacking Iraq and freeing especially Iran to pursue.

Another Proxy war is going on and is setting up this one between the west and their Middle East allies and Syria and Iran.

George w Bush purposely did this in his infinite stupidity: I have to reiterate something I have said too many times since Bush chose to ignore all warnings of total civil war spreading throughout the entire Middle East so he could attack Iraq and straighten out the Middle East as God spoke to him and instructed him to.

We will still be there but it looks like Yemen, and the Gulf of Aden will be the prime focus unless Iran gets something going between the US and Iran.

Actually Russia, China and Lebanon have blocked a move for the UN Security Council to condemn Syria's crackdown on dissent. Sanctioning slaughter is more like it! I believe I remember hearing Russia weigh in against what Syria and Iran are doing but China has yet to weigh in. Any way you look at it we are playing into Iran’s hand.

You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria especially. Iran is not going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy,Iran is in Syria helping Bashar Assad and they do not want us interfering. What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it. The total Middle East breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

Al Shabaab ready to negotiate

The US military has begun flying drone aircraft from a base in Ethiopia, as part of its fight against Islamist militants in neighbouring Somalia. Their role is surveillance of the al-Shabab militant group - based in Somalia, and already the focus of drone missions flown from other bases in the region.

Kenya Army Fight First Direct Battle With al-Shabaab; 9 Dead: Kenyan forces killed at least nine al-Shabaab fighters in their first engagement with the al-Qaeda- linked militia since beginning an incursion into the country 13 days ago, the army said. Two Kenyan soldiers were injured, one critically, in the fighting that took place yesterday near Tabda, about 470 kilometers (292 miles) southwest of the capital, Mogadishu, Major Emmanuel Chirchir, spokesman for the Kenya Defence Forces, said in an e-mailed statement. The Somalia towns of Busar and Buarahache were captured and an al-Shabaab logistical and training camp at Anole was also attacked, he said.

Official: Al-Shabaab leaders contact Kenyan government to negotiate: A Kenyan government official said Thursday that Al-Shabaab leaders are seeking negotiations as the nation pursues the Islamist militants deeper into Somalia.

Kenya's military is said to be the most professional in Africa but they have never been deployed in a war situation in the region and this will be the first time they will go after foreign combatants who have threatened Kenya's territorial integrity. The more the merrier!

It controls much of southern Somalia, though its young fighters and battered pick-up trucks are deemed no match for a sophisticated army..

The world is closing in on Al Shabab I am happy to say. Al Shabab was offered Amnesty about a month ago and they better take it while they can.

You may remember Somalia has a new militia faction that is about the only group in the country to go against the al-Shabab and win. The Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama - followers of Sufism or mystical Islam - are mostly volunteering students who say they have no political ambitions beyond expelling al-Shabab from the capital, one district at a time. Time to put them in overdrive as you will agree. Don't forget the Al Shabab killers Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamma

President Obama also ordered the deployment of 100 armed military advisers to central Africa to help regional forces combat the Lord’s Resistance Army, a notorious renegade group that has terrorized villagers in at least four countries with marauding bands that kill, rape, maim and kidnap with impunity. “For more than two decades, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) has murdered, raped and kidnapped tens of thousands of men, women and children in central Africa,” Mr. Obama wrote in a letter to Congress announcing the military deployment. “The LRA continues to commit atrocities across the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan that have a disproportionate impact on regional security.” .

We are supposedly winding down in Iraq and Afghanistan so I guess an upcoming war with Iran is not enough we now have to try to "cleanse" Africa of terrorists. WTF?

Cracks in Syria’s military are widening along sectarian lines, say analysts, fueling an armed mutiny & no fly zone request. Here comes the worst

Syrian crackdown 'looking increasingly unsustainable': Cracks in Syria’s military are widening along sectarian lines, say analysts, fueling an armed mutiny that may pose an even greater threat to President Bashar al-Assad than the street protests which have rocked the country for months. “The crackdown is looking increasingly unsustainable. Assad is more unable to rely on the majority Sunni rank and file. It is costing lots of money to move already exhausted core troops and his capability of launching simultaneous strikes on protest centers is diminishing,” a European diplomat said.

Syrian security forces opened fire on Friday on protesters and hunted them down in house-to-house raids, killing about 40 people in the deadliest day in weeks in the country's 7-month-old uprising, activists said.  Much of the bloodshed on Friday happened after the protests had ended and security forces armed with machine guns chased protesters and activists, according to opposition groups monitoring the demonstrations

Shelling in Syria After Deadly Day of Protests: Syrian troops shelled a restive district on Saturday and conducted sweeping raids, one day after security forces killed about 40 people in one of the deadliest crackdowns in months in the country's uprising, activists said

Syrian Opposition Seeks 'No Fly' Zone: Syrian opposition activists have urged protesters to rally for a "no fly" zone on Friday. The activists made the call on social media sites, saying the flight restrictions are needed to help protect civilians from government forces.

You have to believe that not only is Iran in Syria helping the Bashar Government but Saudi Arabia or Al Qaeda is also there helping the protesters and the military advocating secession and helping to defeat the Bashar Government.

This is going to be a long tough fight because Iran will not allow a possible anti Iran regime change in Syria nor it seems will Russia and China. You would think that after Gaddafi's brutal death Bashar Al-Assad would take heed but he does not have to as China and Russia support his brutality to protect their interests and the old order.

Again: You know, I am thinking about all that is happening today in the United States and more pointedly around the entire world not just in North Africa and the Middle East and I am reminded of something we were told right after 9/11 and that was that this is a new volatile world we live in today and we must act accordingly. When I was a kid I learned "adapt, overcome, and move ahead successfully" We are not doing that, once again we have failed to take our own good advice.

This is not the 20th century. The times they are a changing and we must be smart enough to change with them or be trampled. WW 3 we do not want, it is not survivable for us or the planet with the awesome destruction of today's weapons. Just looking at the two telling links above I realized Russia and the United States are playing the same old power and control games instead of realizing this is a new world and like it or not we must adapt with it or destroy it.

Now China feels emboldened to play a role in pushing her desires on the "Arab Spring" too and this is all a recipe for disaster. The US can no longer stand by Israel blindly. Unless Israel realizes like it or not it is time for a 2 state solution to allow us to progress through the 21 century in this new world not the old one those in control are trying to hold on to.

Likewise it is wrong for Russia and China to embolden Syria and defend their Brutality in order to protect their selfish old interests. Like it or not we must let go. We the current powers are creating more problems not solving them. We must step back and let the baby be born. We can not have things the way we want. We must realize that instead of using weapons to try and have our way.

We must let the chips fall where they may then pick up what we can, adapt, overcome, and move forward successfully hopefully. The US is in trouble, Europe is in trouble, the Middle East is in trouble, the entire world is in trouble unless we wake up, stop trying to interfere with it, and help put together whatever is left.

Ultimately Pakistan wants Afghanistan back as does India

Ultimately Pakistan wants Afghanistan back as does India that is why Pakistan is arming and training the Taliban to defeat NATO and Afghanistan and angry  we are killing them

Taliban commanders say Pakistan intelligence helps them,

According to a commander using the name Mullah Azizullah, the experts running the training are either members of the ISI or have close links to it."They are all the ISI's men. They are the ones who run the training. First they train us about bombs; then they give us practical guidance," he said.

AL QAEDA TALENT SPOTTING: Another Taliban fighter, known as Commander Najib, said al Qaeda trainers also operated in the camps, talent spotting possible suicide bombers. It gets much deeper!

NATO says an estimated 200 insurgents were killed or captured in two military operations that just ended in eastern Afghanistan. They were aimed at disrupting militant groups, including the al-Qaeda and Taliban-affiliated Haqqani network. The forces also seized more than 400 kilograms of explosives, weapons, munitions and computers.

NATO choppers violated air space: Pakistan officials: Pakistani officials on Wednesday accused NATO helicopters of violating Pakistan's air space over the Taliban and Haqqani stronghold of North Waziristan, along the Afghan border. If Pakistan wants the incursions to stop they know where the Haqqani's are either kill them or make them come to the bargaining table between the US, Pakistan, and the Haqqani's.

The United States now believes that for the last 10 years Pakistan has been playing a double game, publicly acting as America’s ally, while secretly training and arming the Taliban in its war against the US in Afghanistan. In a prison cell on the outskirts of Kabul, the Afghan Intelligence Service is holding a young man who alleges he was recruited earlier this year by Pakistan’s powerful military intelligence agency, the ISI.
He says the Pakistanis trained him to be a suicide bomber, to be used in the Taliban’s intensifying military campaign against the Western coalition forces. “For a fighter there are two important things – supplies and a place to hide,” According to one Taliban commander, who fights under the name Mullah Qaseem:. Pakistan plays a significant role. First they support us by providing a place to hide which is really important. Secondly, they provide us with weapons.”

Another commander, Najib, describes how, following the American troop surge introduced by President Obama in Afghanistan in 2009, the Pakistanis responded in kind. “Because Obama put more troops into Afghanistan and increased operations here, so Pakistan’s support for us increased as well. It increased a great deal.” The Taliban commander describes the remarkable contents of a single supply truck he claims the Pakistanis delivered to his group, “500 landmines with remote controls, 20 Rocket propelled grenade launchers with 2000 to 3000 grenades. They brought AK47s, machine guns and rockets.”

The Americans have responded by taking matters into their own hands. In President Obama’s first year in office, there were an estimated 53 drone strikes inside Pakistan on Taliban camps or key figures in the insurgency – more than the previous five years combined.
Read the entire article it is very telling and short! Pakistani ISI is fuming because we took them out of the link and have been increasingly successful in killing the Haqqani's and the other Taliban and Al Qaeda militants the ISI has been giving intelligence and weapons to in order to create chaos in Afghanistan.

The ISI ultimately want to regain control of Afghanistan. Watch this video on historical Pakistan and Afghanistan's relationship

Senators find sweet spot in ending benefits to millionaires: condemned for screwing over the country and ripping off the people

Senators find sweet spot in ending benefits to millionaire Senators find sweet spot in ending benefits to millionaires: Finding a rare piece of common ground when it comes to spending limits, Republicans and Democrats in the Senate voted overwhelmingly Friday morning to cut off federal farm payment handouts to farmers who already make more than $1 million a year.

Sweet spot? They better get rid of it. I first became aware of it 4 years ago. I am stunned that in our current financial situation some of the scum that are supposedly trying to remedy it are still groveling in the corporate welfare money pit.

Farm subsidies Corporate Welfare, Dead Farmers get Billions, Corporations get millions! More spent than on Homeland Defense!

Farm subsidies is the largest Corporate Welfare program with more given to them than we spend on Home Land Defense. Dead Farmers get Billions, Corporations get millions and needy farmers get nothing but for Willie Nelson!

Four years ago I became aware of this corruptive program I never realized before because it was well hidden by corruptive Politicians. I keep seeing more and more related information and because of all the unfolding corruption and problems this is getting no attention and it should!

Having gone to an Agricultural High School I am a Farmer by Vocation I worked on and managed many farms. Struggling small farmers was to me normal and just thought that was part of the hard but fun life of today's farmers. That was before I served my country, became an accountant, then turned to writing the truth about Bush and the ever growing corruption.

Thinking that Farm Subsidies were out there to help average farmers, I should have known better but I was really caught off guard when I became aware that Washington spends more on corporate welfare than on homeland security and farm subsidies are America's largest corporate welfare program.

Farms have come a long way since subsidies were introduced as a temporary solution to alleviate the effects of the Great Depression. Today farms have one of the lowest failure rates of any industry in the country. But that is because of the millionaire farmers subsidized by Politicians as the small farmer continues to be left to fail and helped only by Willie Nelson and Farm Aid.

If farm subsidies were really about alleviating farmer poverty, then lawmakers could guarantee every full-time farmer an income of 185 percent of the federal level ($38,203 for a family of four) for under $5 billion annually — one-fifth the current cost of farm subsidies. Instead, small farmers are largely excluded from farm subsidies. Farm subsidy payments are based on acreage, so by definition, the largest agribusiness's get the largest subsidies. Consequently, commercial farmers — who report an average income of $200,000 and net worth of nearly $2 million — now collect the majority of farm subsidies. Most farm subsidy dollars go to millionaires.

The Environmental Working Groups farm subsidy database reveals that from 1995 to 2005, farm subsidies have been distributed to Fortune 500 companies such as John Hancock Life Insurance ($2,849,799) and Westvaco ($534,210); as well as celebrity hobby farmers like David Rockefeller ($553,782) and Ted Turner ($206,948). Even Members of Congress who vote on farm legislation have received subsidies, such as Sen. Charles Grassley (I-Iowa, $225,041) and Rep. John Salazar (D-Colo., $161,084). Farm subsidies for millionaires

Then like all the rest of the underhanded activities going on today it gets worse. I found out the U.S. Department of Agriculture distributed $1.1 billion over seven years to the estates or companies of deceased farmers and routinely failed to conduct reviews required to ensure that the payments were properly made, according to a government report. In a selection of 181 cases from 1999 to 2005, the Government Accountability Office found that officials approved payments without any review 40 percent of the time.

The report cited a 1,900-acre soybean and corn farm in Illinois that collected $400,000 on behalf of an owner who lived in Florida before his death in 1995. The company did not notify the government of the death but certified each year that the dead shareholder, who owned 40 percent of the company, was "actively engaged" in managing the farm. again the more you hear the worse it gets

In that report we hear from,Surprise! Senator Grassley of all people that these programs are to help- "needy" farmers, that to him is needy Millionaire corporate farmers. Knowing this Billion dollar corporate Welfare system has been going on at least under my radar can anyone really expect the no over sight, corruption champion Bush to veto the $300 billion farm bill expected to come before the U.S. House of Representatives this week? No way!

The farm bill, which includes $35 billion in crop subsidies for farmers, also contains production incentives that would benefit some of the world's biggest food companies, including Tyson Foods Inc. and Archer Daniels Midland Co.

This Bill did pass because many Republicans wanted it themselves an it primarily benefits wealthy Corporations not Needy or small family farmers. In steps Willie Nelson and Farm Aid. I have to say that I never realized how valuable him and farm aid was to average farmers. His help is priceless and often the only way small farmers in "serious" trouble can turn.

Willie is still Working to keep family farmers on their land, Farm Aid brings together family farmers and citizens to guarantee family farm food is available to you. Together we can restore family farm-centered agriculture that ensures safe, healthful food, protects natural resources, and strengthens local economies. Please learn more about Willie and farm aid!

I guess when all is said and done it should be no surprise that every single program that can be used to help the wealthy, is and as usual if average Americans are to get help they cannot rely on the Government but must rely on private interests as Katrina has highlighted.

Are we ever going to be able to get our Government honest and helping those that really need it? These S.O.B's did not hit the sweet spot, they should be condemned for screwing over the country and ripping off the people.

US Sen. John McCain: Could it be time to intervene in Syria?: WTF?

US Sen. John McCain: Could it be time to intervene in Syria?: Now that military operations in Libya are ending, there will be renewed focus on what partial military operations might be considered to protect civilian lives in Syria,” McCain (R-Ariz.) said at a meeting of the World Economic Forum in Jordan. “The Assad regime should not consider that it can get away with mass murder. Kadafi made that mistake and it cost him everything.”

What the hell is wrong with us? We screw with Syria and we have the war with Iran we have been instigating since we attacked Iraq to ultimately go after Iran. America: Living to fight as it appears or Fighting to Live as we are told?

I have to admit that our action in Libya is the first war in my time where I feel we had no choice if we did not want to sit by and watch the genocide of his own people by Colonel Kaddafi. However I have been listening to many say we had no right to interfere. I feel we had to in good conscience but people are right when they say there is no balance as to what we base the decision to go to war on.

Knowing I have been thinking of this for years and I based it on a book written in 2003 in which it was pointed out that we have been at war since our founding, 227 years. that is now 235 years so I had to revisit this thought.

Years ago now I was consumed with the crazy thought that my son who is an EOD (explosive ordinance Disposal) Team Leader just got home from Afghanistan then volunteered for Iraq. I was very concerned as to how many civilians and American soldiers were going to lose their lives in what many of us considered an illegal war.

I was listening again to the number of Americans killed in past wars including the civil war where some 562 thousand lost their lives as you know, fighting amongst ourselves. At first I was focused on the wasted lives in Iraq and was wondering how many there would be when all is said and done as well as feeling there is no foreseeable end and we still have to wonder, then I went to this list and I wanted to compare how many lives were lost in wars in contrast to how many we lost fighting amongst ourselves.

The numbers were getting too convoluted for me to come up with anything tangible I thought. I then was looking at the immense numbers of conflicts and wars we were in and I decided a comparison of war years to peaceful years would be best to tell our story. I couldn't figure it out. I was floored by the number of conflicts and wars America has been in since our founding and thought I would say we have only had approximately 50 years of peace and supply this link on our war and peace History. List of America's wars

Then I went back to Google and I found this compelling story by Jon Stanton showing that America has been at war openly or clandestinely essentially since we were founded. I merely want you to see what is out there and think about the whole story. Having read what he wrote I thought there was something at least worth reading, thinking about, and putting in perspective.

I never read him so I researched him and found him to be a Virginia based writer that writes from a left wing perspective and I am afraid I agree with much of what he says. In fact I have written much of it myself in the past. I am not a warmonger I am a peace lover so I thought I would give you the link to Jon Stanton's book 227 years of warfare written in 2003 and you could tell me what you think. 227 years of warfare

It did make me remember that I did a diary a while back in which I said the U.S. has a war economy and some took exception to that but looking at our History of wars our fault or not I really have to wonder, what are we? I am a peace lover willing to fight for my country as are my sons as you know but are the leaders of America fighting to live or living to fight? what is happening to us? How are we supposed to feel?

Jordan: Israeli security, 1967 borders key to peace, Forget it!

Jordan: Israeli security, 1967 borders key to peace: Jordan's King Abdullah II said on Saturday that a peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians would have to ensure Israel's security and acceptance and enable the creation of a Palestinian state.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Jordan, Abdullah went on to criticize "short-sighted leaders, who think they can close the door to peace."
According to the Petra New Agency, Abdullah met with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on the sidelines of the forum, affirming his support for a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.
Forget it!

Palestine's Mahmoud Abbas requested full membership to the UN and an independent State side by side with Israel but you know despite the world wanting it, it will not happen because Israel and the US does not want it but want status quo including talking for eternity.

After listening to Benjamin Netanyahu talk about the 4000 year history behind his name and Israel it reinforces even more what I have said too many times and that is that there will ever be peace in the middle east, ever, as long as there are Jews, Arabs, and Persians.

I was impressed when President Obama came out and said Israel must go back to the 1967 borders which I do not believe they will ever do but he is the first US President to take the right stance. Obama Backs Deal Based on 1967 Lines

As Obama Endorses '67 Borders, Netanyahu Objects Of course, they do not want a two state solution and they will never share Palestine.

As we discussed there is a rising cry around the world for Israel to return to 1967 borders but they do not care and never will, only Israel matters to them period!

The only thing to do is to force the instigating war mongers Israel to adhere to 181 or leave them to their own demise and Iran would see to it. You know, first reading how Israel and Palestine was allotted their territories in 1948 I do not condone that Israel has not been forced to adhere to that resolution. We, the US Britain and Europe especially are as guilty as Israel for not insisting Israel adhere to UN Resolution 181

Israel knows they are over their head but they know they can ignore the world because they own the US. Right or wrong they have the US in their pocket!

They have the US! Israel does not care what anyone thinks period! I realized a long time ago that Israel is the world's chief war monger and we seem to do their bidding and fighting. If they get into a war with Iran who wants Israel wiped of the map we will end up coming to their rescue regardless of what they do or what anyone says and that is sad! We should in fact take care of Jewish American's and American's and our interests in Israel and otherwise tell them in no uncertain terms they are on their own if they continue to flaunt the worlds will and instigate war not peace and expecting us to come to their rescue.

Israel is not going to back down. When all is said and done they know the US will be there for them. I am sure the US plans to come to Israel's rescue and do it largely from the Gulf with numerous carrier fighter groups. When are we going to realize this entire mess I call a forever war is just beginning and this is our future. A future of war for us and profiteering for the elite!

Israel and the US will continue to flaunt Palestinian and world desires for a free Palestine and a two state solution until one way or the other what is happening in the Arab spring countries gets Iran and us openly involved. There is so much other degradation happening in the US and around the world I hate that this is happening and it is all unnecessary. We can only hope this does not turn into WW3.

*In closing Israel is not listening they do not care what the world wants and the middle east is changing into what other than chaos we do not know. I am afraid the Arab spring may give birth to the Israeli fall or even worse, it is up to us, "China the United States, and Russia!

Pakistan and India win UN seats, what frigging good is it?

Pakistan and India win UN seats: Pakistan has won a seat alongside its regional rival India on the UN Security Council. Pakistan's win means both South Asian nuclear states will serve, but diplomats do not think regional rivalry will play out in a big way there. Because the US, Russia, and china has proven and knows holding those seats is worthless unless what you say is in their best interest.

The UN General Assembly on Monday elected Azerbaijan to a two-year term on the UN Security Council, making it join Pakistan, Morocco, Guatemala and Togo as the five new non-permanent members of the most powerful UN body. Again I ask what the hell is it worth?

With Rare Double U.N. Veto on Syria, Russia and China Try to Shield a Friend: UNITED NATIONS — By vetoing a Security Council resolution condemning Syria for its oppression of anti government forces, Russia and China effectively tossed a life preserver to President Bashar al-Assad, seemingly unwilling to see a pivotal ally and once stalwart member of the socialist bloc sink beneath the waves of the Arab Spring. A double veto at the United Nations is rare, in this case driven by similar if not exactly parallel concerns in Moscow and Beijing about losing influence in the Arab world as one authoritarian government after another built on the now-faded Soviet model collapses.

Palestinian anger at US rising over UN veto : Palestinians have long been skeptical of America's ability to help them win independence. But low expectations have turned into frustration and in some cases outright anger after the U.S. threatened to derail a bid for U.N. recognition of an independent state and Congress put a hold on $200 million in badly needed aid..

Washington's threat to block U.N. recognition of Palestine is an "act of aggression," said writer Hani al-Masri, who boycotted the Ramallah reception by U.S. diplomats. Other invitees said they stayed away because they feared a backlash in their community — an indicator of the combative mood in the West Bank..

First I have to say I think it is great that there are still countries that believe it is in their best interest to join the UN because I think it might be but only if it means all members will unify to defend any member country being threatened. I am sickened that any member might think they have a vote that matters when there are concerns that matter to them all when all China, the United States, and Russia has to do is veto it if it goes against one of their interests.

We have to stop playing these frigging self serving games. You know, I am thinking about all that is happening today in the United States and more pointedly around the entire world not just in North Africa and the Middle East and I am reminded of something we were told right after 9/11 and that was that this is a new volatile world we live in today and we must act accordingly. US 'held meeting with Haqqanis' compliments of their protectors Pakistan, tells Pakistan to make them negotiate

US 'held meeting with Haqqanis': She said the US held one preliminary meeting with the Haqqani network "to see if they would show up". "In fact, the Pakistani government officials helped to facilitate such a meeting," Mrs Clinton told Pakistani journalists. She added: "We have reached out to the Taliban, we have reached out to the Haqqani network to test their willingness and their sincerity, and we are now working among us - Afghanistan, Pakistan and the United States - to try to put together a process that would sequence us toward an actual negotiation." The only way Pakistan could facilitate such a meeting is if they were complicit protecting them and new where they were!

US changes approach to pressing Pakistan on Haqqani network: Faced with Pakistan's unwillingness to uproot the Haqqani network from its territory, Washington is now pressing Islamabad to force the Afghan insurgent group to join peace talks, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton suggested Friday. Clinton stressed, however, that if Pakistan doesn't move quickly, the United States would be forced to act unilaterally against Haqqani safe havens in Pakistani territory. We know where they live, we should just kill them!

These days Pakistan wants us to believe the Haqqani's and Pakistan have parted ways, Pakistan after Afghanistan and the Haqqani's are after us at least for now. However old and new proof shows us Pakistan is still protecting, aiding, and seemingly directing the Haqqani's. We have discussed this for years and it is time to take the matter into our own hands regardless of what it does to our relationship with Pakistan. The Haqqani's are standing in the way of our success and departure.

With the death of Osama Bin Laden we were asked what his death would mean for the war in Afghanistan. Like the so called war on terror which includes the Taliban, Al Qaeda of every creed, and extremists of every ilk looking to carry on Osama's vendetta against the west, it will serve to fuel their cause. His death should mean just the opposite and it does to all true Muslims.UBL "Osama Bin Laden, betrayed Islam!

The Haqqani's are most important to the war on extremists in Afghanistan. Eradicating them is of utmost importance to our ability to succeed and go home as we hopefully really are in the process of right now. There is good reason why we are having increasing success but first, the Haqqani's and their legendary stature are holding the so called terrorists force together. Their stature is legendary and hard earned.

The Haqqani network and their increasingly foreign fighters have become the main focus after 9 years of fighting. The Haqqani Network's North Waziristan leadership -- usually called the Miram Shah Shura consists of a number of Haqqani family members and closely associated long-serving commanders.

The Taliban think they are getting away with something but they are being watched closely by JSOC ready to pounce and take them out when given the command. I say give it now and save lives. My guess is the command has been given because the Haqqani's have been going down en-masse. The network is important but I think "they" should take out the Haqqani's first. I wish we would quickly kill the Haqqani's, both Jalaluddin and Sirajuddin and leave the rest to Pakistan and Afghanistan.

I have to laugh! The Haqqani's are not stupid they know how to play the game. They know we have long accused Pakistan more pointedly the ISI of controlling the Haqqanis. They also know that of late we have come out and accused elements of the Government and ISI of initiating the action against the west and Afghanistan.

Sadly the ISI has been complicit with the Haqqani's, Mullah Omar and other anti Afghanistan and anti American extremists from the beginning. The CIA was complicit with the ISI. The killing of 7 CIA agents by a suicide bomber changed this for the CIA. However you are not going to get the ISI to "switch sides" They have had a relationship with the Haqqani's since they were helping them fight the Russians.

Anyway you look at it we are viewed as temporary and the violent convoluted backstabbing tribal relationships will always be a way of life in the border area especially. We can only be very concerned how this is going to turn out between NATO, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. It won't be translucent or good!

*When all is said and done I believe in the old adage "there is honor amongst thieves" I do believe Sirajuddin Haqqani when he said he is talking to the CIA and the Haqqani's had nothing to do with killing Rabbani. I absolutely believe Pakistani interests did it as has been proven out. The Haqqani's seem to be home based in Afghanistan now and have wisely severed their ties with Pakistan.

The Haqqani's seem true to Mullah Omar who want us out of Afghanistan and want their independent Afghanistan. Pakistan has proven they do not want a free and independent Afghanistan but want to control it. At this point I want to say our soldiers have done their job let them come home as scheduled if not sooner. Let Mullah Omar the Haqqani's and other Taliban interests fight for Afghanistan it is theirs not ours or Pakistan's. Good luck Hamid Karzai that's all I say!
