Taliban bid Canada farewell with retrospective statement' U.S. drawdown begins in Afghanistan amidst increasing murder of civilians by the Taliban

Taliban bid Canada farewell with retrospective statement: "The people of Canada have to ask their government and military chiefs what are the objectives and achievements that they have obtained during the past decade, apart from the innumerous losses in life and equipment," reads the English translation of the statement, posted last week to the Taliban's website. "If they have no answer, then why (do)

NATO, Afghan army kill at least 13 Taliban...The fighting at the Taliban held "empty school" ended Sunday with a NATO air strike and there were no casualties among civilians or security forces. The insurgents were armed with machine guns, assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades.

U.S. drawdown begins in Afghanistan: The first U.S. troops have left Afghanistan as part of President Barack Obama's planned drawdown of about a third of the 100,000 U.S. forces there during the next year.

Afghan blast kills five civilians including women and children The Taliban killed 5 more civilians they must be happy but sad they did not kill more.

Afghan civilians deaths increase, no kidding, they are the Islamists cannon fodder Afghan civilians deaths increase: The first six months of 2011 were the deadliest for civilians in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001, a UN report has found. The country saw 1,462 civilian deaths in January to June, a 15% increase on the same period last year. Most of the deaths were caused by roadside bombs and anti-government forces such as the Taliban

Remember a year ago when Mullah Omar ordered the Taliban to attack civilians, Afghan women

Not a month ago 10 civilians and all 6 gunmen killed in terrorist attack on the intercontinental hotel attack in Kabul Most of those killed as you may know were civilian workers so the Taliban must be pretty proud of themselves.

Taliban's offensive to destabilize region: In a recent six week period more than 200 Afghan civilians have been killed and hundreds more wounded in a series of brutal suicide bombings, gun battles and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks across the country

When are those people going to get the message and wake up? The bloody winter offensive targeting them is over but fighting season is on.

Bombs Kill at Least 21 in Afghanistan
Ten civilians killed as Taliban attack Kabul hotel, another successful Taliban attack

When are they going to get it? The Taliban are killing more civilians than ever hoping to get in control of them to kill and maim even more as they were before we attacked. Those civilians better realize that and take it upon themselves to start betraying and fighting the Taliban

Sixteen members from one family die in Taliban bomb

Taliban behind most Afghan civilian casualties: Insurgents are now responsible for about 85% of civilian casualties in the Afghanistan War, an increase from last year and a sign that efforts by the United States and its allies to limit their firepower are succeeding

When are the people going to realize the Taliban are their enemies. The civilians are the Taliban's low hanging fruit. They must come together and turn against the Taliban as many tribes in Pakistan have done and some in Afghanistan are now doing. Leaving Afghanistan is a good deal and a must for us.

However the people better remember the Taliban cutting off limbs and heads and just getting a severe beating for talking is getting off mild. The people better wake up and put the Talibam down before it is too late and they are much worse off than they were before.

The sad, ugly truth of the matter is that Chimpy had a golden opportunity in 2002 to alter history. The Afghanis loved that we had swept away the Taliban, and they believed what Chimpy said about helping them to build a stable and prosperous society.

Then, Chimpy turned his back on the Afghani people and made up a bunch of stuff to allow us to attack Iraq. What we gave Afghanistan was a bunch of paper ballots and just about nothing else. As a result, opium plantations sprang up like mushrooms, and local warlords forced people to work their plantations. Afghanis thus brutalized have decided that even the brutality of the Taliban isn't THAT bad. And then, of course, there are all of the attacks that have killed innocent people, which have convinced Afghanis that the US is a brutal partner to the opium warlords who enslaved them.

They don't trust us, understandably. We can't fix this. It's time to admit it and withdraw.

Buenos Dias Jim ...

Thanx for the detailed post and the link's on this, hadnt heard a thing from my niece or her mom, barely get to watch the news these dayz either. But toward's the end of your piece here, you brought up something about ... when are folk's going to realize that this Taliban is their enemy? ... and this is something I wondered for long Jim. I mean ... on one hand we hear that the Taliban has so much support, and they need to be part of the new gvmnt, etc, etc ... on the other hand you hear nothing but violence and oppression from this same crew, Canada throw's in the towel and frankly alot of American's are not even satisfied with the President's so called "drawdown", and I sure as Hell dont think it's enough, and nothing against our troop's who like being there to help and complete their mission, but I feel we could find other thing's for them to do, beside's ... I'm also a bit frustrated behind the private mercenaries type contract's that this is costing us, infrastructure cost's, maintenance, etc. I know a familia down the street, known them almost 30 year's now from Aghanistan ... good folk's, and it's hard to even discuss this with them, because that is their homeland and they feel for their people, but even when I was talking to Mike ("Mike" is the American equivalent of his arabic name) about this, he's in total agreement with me on the US withdrawal part, he say's that this is something that only the people of that land can solve ... and I explained to him my viewpoint on this "business/ corporate" factor too. But Mike think's also that the gvmnt regardless of what we hear ... have too much corruption over there. Anywayz Jim, the way this look's mathematically at the rate were going at this, I dont see how we can ever get out of there for year's to come, were not making any bloody progress on withdrawal at all ... NO ... I dont buy this drawdown crap any more than the other horseshit were fed.

But Thanx again Jim .... hope ya'll are getting a tad break from that heat dome that has been hovering over ya'll up there too. We wont here in Texas, but were used to it ... June, July and August here will alwayz be hot, period.

Yeah RC we are paying an arm and a leg for our own mercenaries and my son Jim says they are destroying the military.

We were also paying the Taliban not to attack us and our convoys. That practice I hope is over.

The people who just want to live as they want better realize that severe strict sharia law will be imposed on them once again.

No female faces shown or women educated or they will be killed, no infidelity except by them, heads and hands will be lopped off.

Oh well RC so much for hoping they ended that shit. US money 'being funnelled to the Taliban'
