Gore: Bush laughs at him and Britain hires him to improve as Bush continues to ignore reality!

I was a little surprised when I saw the effects of Global warming put into a financial context as to what it could cost the world if ignored as those such as Bush continue to do.
Unchecked global warming will devastate the world economy on the scale of the world wars and the Great Depression, a British government report said Monday, as the country launched a bid to convince doubters that environmentalism and economic growth can coincide.
The 700-page report, by former World Bank chief economist Sir Nicholas Stern, warns the cost of unchecked global warming could reach $9 trillion ($9000 billion) - more than both World Wars and the Depression combined.
http://www.news.com.au/...

For sure we know that Bush has company in ignoring the effect our emissions have on the planet, China and India to say the least. However knowing that Bush has continuously had Government scientists and their reports censored as to the effect we were having on the planets health in order to keep Americans in the dark as to the effect his economy is having on the planet.
We know that Bushco ridiculed Al Gore when his movie an Inconvenient truth came out and said it was a convenient lie so they could protect their industrial interests instead of the environment. I am not surprised that Bush once again ignores reality in order to further his own interests at any cost. I was surprised to find out that while Bush dismissed and ridiculed Al Gore Britain had hired him to help them.
Britain hired former Vice President Al Gore, who has emerged as a powerful environmental spokesman to advise the government on climate change -- a clear indication of Prime Minister Tony Blair's dissatisfaction with current U.S. policy. Blair is rightly splitting from Bush on this issue as I think he should.
The U.S. is by far the greatest emitter of carbon dioxide and other noxious gases blamed for Global warming and increasing greenhouse gases. This sounds powerless to me but Blair made his displeasure with U.S. environmental policy clear when he signed an agreement this year with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to develop new technologies to combat the problem.
As a result of Gore's help Britain is one of only a handful of industrialized nations whose greenhouse gas emissions have fallen in the last decade and a half, the United Nations said Monday. no matter what Britain, the United States and Japan do, the battle against global warming cannot succeed without deciding when and how to control the greenhouse gas emissions by such fast-industrializing giants as China and India.
http://www.canada.com/... I hope you read the story at the link!
As I said, I can see Bush ignoring Al Gore and what many see as a natural or man made occurrence. However I can not see him or anyone else ignoring the tremendous financial cost to the world if he and others continue to ignore reality.
This is a great future crisis and cost that added to the crisis and cost of Bush, is staggering.

My pleasurable call from Afghanistan tempered with disgust of Bush's fundamentalist Lies!

I was pretty happy yesterday to receive a surprise call from my son in Afghanistan. He said he is putting in 18 hour days between combat and cleaning up explosives in and around Kandahar. While being very concerned for his welfare I sadly turned the conversation to the reality of Bush and that we must get Republicans out of control.
They are out of control and that is the problem. We talked about his brother who had to listen to Bush in Charleston before he goes back to the middle east and they are hoping to also meet in Afghanistan. We talked about the large salmon he caught in Alaska before I again turned the conversation back to my disgust with Bush as he rallies fundamentalists in order to keep corruptive control of congress.I have become obsessed with removing these idiots!
Our sons and daughters are hearing all the lies as they try to do their duty. This is just not right.
My son believe it or not likes what he is doing and says he is in his element in Afghanistan and might volunteer for another tour despite the fact that his young wife is pregnant with their second child. I am sure there are many like him.
Anyway of course Bush is trying to rally the Republican base using Gay marriage as a weapon against Democrats as he incites fear by saying the country is doomed if Democrats are allowed to get in control. As I watch our dedicated sons and daughters fighting for America and listening to Bushco's lies so they can stay the course even though he no longer uses the expression. I am increasingly concerned for my sons, for the country, and for the election and our future.
Tax cuts for the rich, hang in there in Iraq etc., in any other words, is stay the course and we can not afford any more of it. Bushco will stop at nothing in order to stay their corruptive course and create their horrible new order. No one or nothing is safe from their ridicule. As I'm sure you were, I was very disgusted to see Michael J Fox ridiculed for Republican gain.
This is a terrible disease we are talking about not just a celebrity to be casually dismissed as a political tool. It was humiliating as a caring American to watch Limbaugh ridicule him and to listen to Bush dismiss MJF just for personal gain and not taking any consideration as the reality of the disease and the fragility of the person. No one is safe from these idiots and nothing is sacred. I am hoping this ignorant arrogance and lack of humanity backfires on them.

Anyway, with Bushco motivating their Base with multiple lies it is becoming very critical that we pull in independents and all non voting Democrats. Volunteer to get people to the polls. Everyone must be made to realize how critical it is that we get Republican's and all inadequate politicians out.
This is extremely important to America, our children, and the future of the entire world. in the end I want to say every vote counts and believe it does but I am not sure right now with these underhanded Republicans. I am very concerned with these electronic voting machines and the ability to alter them. I understand there already is problems in Florida with people voting Democrat and seeing it register as Republican. I understand 5 minutes is enough time get inside these machines, alter them so they electronically vote in a predetermined way, and it can not be detected. What to do now?
We cannot afford or allow another stolen election and knowing how desperate Republicans are to keep their corruptive power and stay their corruptive course. I want to stay focused on the safety of my sons but listening to Bushco and knowing their underhandedness, I keep worrying about what they are going to do.We must get our America back!
Monitoring these elections and the results in every State electronic machines or not is very important as we can not trust these Republicans at all and will in the end prove very critical and interesting.

Homeless dumping on skid row by Hospitals as Bush brags about his great economy!

As we listen every day to Bush threaten voters with doom if Democrats take over next month and how we are going to raise taxes instantly by putting AN END TO THE TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH. Yesterday, again he was bragging about how great the economy is and how it will all end if Democrats get in power as we must.
I have to wonder who all these people are that he is surrounded by that are cheering him? Where does he find all these wealthy and millionaires? He is not talking about my economy! I don't have to tell you we are in trouble if we do not put an end to Republican rule next month.
In the past I have posted as others have done, on how bad things are getting for average Americans. In the past I have posted on the nightmare of healthcare for average Americans. This following story though absolutely astounded me but what is the answer? It is not right to throw those medically in need on skid row if they do not have insurance. What do we do?

This is only one city and I have to say that with Bush's furtherance of his new societal; order, it will only get much worse and be more prevalent.
http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/... We must take our America back! this story below is just one city, how prevalent is this? Bush's economy might be great but many average Americans are in crisis.

CNN: Authorities have launched a criminal investigation into suspected dumping of homeless people on Skid Row after police witnessed ambulances leaving five people on a street there during the weekend.
The city attorney's office is reviewing police videotapes and photographs of the five suspected dumping cases to determine whether the patients were falsely imprisoned during their transfer and whether the hospital, Los Angeles Metropolitan Medical Center, violated any laws regarding the treatment of patients.

Two patients told officers Sunday they did not want to be taken downtown, said police Capt. Andrew Smith. One was not even homeless, he said. (Watch how five people were left on Skid Row -- 2:34 ) "There is an expression in the medical profession that is something to the effect of 'Do no harm,"' Chief William Bratton said at a press conference.

"When a hospital or an ambulance service takes an individual into Skid Row and leaves them and drives off, they are subjecting that person to considerable risk," he added. Medical center officials denied improperly handling the patients.

"With all of the issues, why would we send someone there who did not ask to go there? It is illogical," John V. Fenton, president and chief executive of Los Angeles Metropolitan Medical Center, told the Los Angeles Times.

Skid Row has one of the nation's largest concentrations of homeless people, in part because it has a cluster of shelters and services to help them.

Police have long suspected that several institutions, including law enforcement agencies from outside the city, were using the downtown neighborhood as a dumping ground for homeless people. This is the first criminal probe by the LAPD into the practice.

In one case, a man dropped off at Skid Row was in fact not homeless, said Smith, the LAPD captain. A police officer took him home and the man's family was "outraged," he said.

"Not only did they not know that he was discharged, but the fact that he had been brought to Skid Row instead of being brought home was what further outraged that family," Smith said at a news conference Tuesday.

The investigation began on Sunday, when an LAPD sergeant saw a patient being left in front of the Volunteers of America homeless services facility. The sergeant called an LAPD videographer, who over the next few hours recorded four more ambulances arriving at the facility and leaving recently discharged patients.

Fenton said three of the five patients had arrived at the hospital from Volunteers of America or the nearby Lamp Community center, and gave the street addresses on their admission information.

Officials at Lamp and Volunteers of America, however, said they had no record of any of the five patients having been at their facilities. Police also said the patients stated in their interviews that they didn't want to be left there.

James Fraley, an attendant with ProCare, a private ambulance company, told police the hospital had hired his company to move discharged patients from the medical center to Skid Row, the Times reported.

No law prevents hospitals from sending patients to Skid Row after they've been discharged.

But the city attorney is investigating whether taking homeless people from a hospital to Skid Row would violate federal laws against releasing or transferring patients who are medically unstable and whether hospitals can be sued for unscrupulous behavior. http://www.cnn.com/...
This is really pretty screwed up and i am afraid it is a sign of the times and will get much worse because of Bush's so called successful economy.

Servicemen: We were misled, Laura: my husband didn't Mislead, Bush in trouble pulls out Big Gun!

A small group of active-duty military members opposed to the occupation of Iraq, including a Norfolk-based sailor, has created a Web site intended to collect thousands of signatures of other service members who agree that they were misled.. Service members can submit their name, rank and duty station if they support the prompt withdrawal of American troops from Iraq.
Seaman Jonathan Hutto, a Norfolk-based sailor who helped set up the Web site this month, said in a telephone interview with The Virginian-Pilot that the group has collected about 120 names and is trying to verify that they are legitimate service members.
He said he is not a pacifist, but he has been skeptical about the reasons behind the invasion and occupation of Iraq. "This is the crisis we have created," Hutto said. "We're not anti-war. But at this point, our position is anti-occupation. Another member of the anti-war group, Liam Madden, said he opposed the war in Iraq even before he deployed with his Marine unit in late 2004. He came home more convinced that the war was wrong.

"The more informed I got, the more I opposed the war," said Madden, 22, a Marine Corps sergeant in Quantico . Madden said the group's long-term goal is to get U.S. troops out of Iraq. http://content.hamptonroads.com/...

As this is occurring Laura once again is used to defend Bush as she is more popular than the President. She lies for him again this time as the truth is told by Bob Woodward. In her first public comments about Bob Woodward's explosive book "State of Denial," first lady Laura Bush sharply denied claims in the book that her husband has misled the public about the level of violence in Iraq.

Bush made her comments in an interview between campaign stops in Minnesota and Indiana. With her favorability rating at 68 percent in the latest CNN poll -- a full 22 points ahead of the president's rating -- the first lady has become one of the Republican Party's most potent weapons in swing states during the final two weeks of the critical midterm elections.

The first lady is treated like a rock star on the campaign trail -- with local Republicans lining up for photographs and autographs -- as she criss-crosses the country to help candidates. She will be visiting Florida this Friday, followed by stops in New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania on Saturday. http://www.cnn.com/...

Woodward and the troops are right! From 9/11 he has been following a plan. Fighting terrorism was not it. It was just the reason he needed to attack Iraq and start to implement his new middle east and world order. Please read the following and you will understand everything.
As you may remember, Bush was looking for something to happen that would put the country and the world behind what he already had plans to do. 9/11 gave him that something. He has been lying and misleading right from the beginning.
He had plans right from the beginning to establish a new societal, middle east, and world order. That is why it was important to him to whip up a media and public fury which of course, he has done.
He used the excuse of 9/11 to attack Iraq and unsettle the middle east guaranteeing the loss of Afghanistan, Iraq, and the entire middle east. If fighting terrorism was his goal he would have stayed in Afghanistan. He lied to our troops and us from the beginning and to defend him makes his wife as guilty as him.

He did all this so he could further his idea of a new middle east and world order. Of course lying all the while and whipping up as much support and frenzy as he could in the media and minds he controls until he can fully implement his plans..
At this point it behooves him to continue to ignore reality and continue to whip up a frenzy so he can continue staying the course in order to further prosecute his new middle east and world order.
We are all shamelessly being used so Bush can follow his plan for new order. I wrote this 3 years ago but it is more obvious today. Let me know what you think? I won't get any deeper but it gets worse from here.

700 mile 2.2 Billion Dollar Facade of Concern too little too late, will backfire politically!

Just another Farce!
President Bush signed into law the Secure Fence Act of 2006 at a White House ceremony yesterday morning after GOP lawmakers sat on the bill for weeks. The bill calls for some 700 miles of new fencing along America's Mexican border and is estimated to cost $6 billion (by another account) to construct, though Democrats argue that it does nothing to address the immigration problem.
The Secure Fence Act was pushed through by GOP lawmakers, just in time for November 7 elections, in a bid to outweigh Democratic opponents at the polls, who voted against the security measure.
In addition to a 700-mile fence, the border security bill will also increase the number of checkpoints and lighting to help prevent people from entering our country illegally. The security bill also authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to increase the use of advanced technology, like cameras and satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles to reinforce our infrastructure at the border.

Bush remarked that the Secure Fence Act was only the beginning of America's advance towards reforming immigration and took the opportunity to jab at lawmakers over his worker ID program. "The bill I'm about to sign is an important step in our nation's efforts to secure our border and reform our immigration system," said President Bush. "We have more to do. Meaningful immigration reforms means that we must enforce our immigration laws in the United States.
"Bush signed the bill at a White House ceremony for the benefit of Republicans leading into the last two weeks before elections. Following the ceremony, Bush left for the Midwest where he is helping promote GOP lawmakers running for office.
A spokesperson for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) called the stall in signing the Secure Fence Act, "lip service to the need to protect our borders without doing anything to do so." Inferring that it was a political tactic to win over voters on November 7th.
http://www.axcessnews.com/...

First I have to say it has been more than 5 years since 9/11 and he is only now taking the first steps in securing the southern Border if you can call a 700 mile fence along a 2,100 mile border with much of it in desolate and desert areas. This is not security. This isn't even a Band-Aid! This in itself is another inadequate, overly expensive, Republican Boondoggle, This as it is, is not a political gain for Republicans despite the signing just before elections hopefully for Repub gain.

Then I read CNN's report and heard even more crap!
Unfortunately the United States has not been in complete control of its borders for decades and therefore illegal immigration has been on the rise," Bush said at a signing ceremony. "He doesn't sat how much it has increased with all his illegal immigration announcements and refusal to secure the borders until he let in the workers he needed!
"We have a responsibility to enforce our laws," he said. "We have a responsibility to secure our borders. We take this responsibility serious."He called the fence bill "an important step in our nation's efforts to secure our borders." Now he has a responsibility because he thinks he can gain from it not because it's right or for the good of the country!

Now we come to the real crux of what Bush is after! The centerpiece of Bush's immigration policy, a guest worker program, remains stalled in Congress. And a handful of House Republicans are at the brakes, blocking negotiations with the Senate for a bill that includes the president's proposal.

Still, Bush argues that it would be easier to get his guest worker program passed if Republicans keep their majorities in the House and Senate after the November 7 elections. His proposal would allow legal employment for foreigners and give some of the estimated 11 million to 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States a shot at becoming American citizens. http://www.cnn.com/...

Bush is saying that as you know for two reasons! He thinks it will help Republican candidates and he is encouraging immigration advocates to vote Republican. Even though they are the ones holding Bush back and I am glad. I have just shown you cost estimates between 2.2 Billion and 6 billion and this fence is another worthless Boondoggle. It will backfire on them.

I have said this many times here but give this a quick read and this border issue will make sense. We are all aware of Bush's new societal order and how good his plan has been for illegal immigrants. He needs them to work and feed his idea for society. He needs them in order to fully implement his plan for our country, his new societal order. He continues the illusion of concern for the average American and illegal immigrants. As many of you know, he is concerned about the illegal immigrants not for them but for him. He knows he needs them to drive his new societal order. He has the amount he needed, now he can feign concern for the Border while he is working on legalizing illegal immigrants.

His plan for society is horrible for the lower classes as you are all experiencing first hand. You see first hand how every single day he continues to tighten the noose around the lower classes and further the cause of the elite. He only needs the lower classes for their taxes. They are needed to fund his illegal immigrants in order to complete his plan. The illegal immigrants are necessary in order for him to fully implement his plan, his Governmental system, and have it work according to his plan. http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/...

Bush demands S Korea sanctions, N Korea sees it as crisis to war as Bush dismisses threat!

Bush demands S Korea sanctions on North that sees it as crisis to war as Bush dismisses threat, Diplomacy Facade Continues and for a reason!
With North Korea supplying the excuse for increased sanctions, Bush knows his desire to progress his new world order will be presented to him. He knows NK will rebel against south Korean sanctions forcing the world and NK into further action! Bush's new world order will progress!

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice gently prodded South Korea on Wednesday to show a strong commitment to international sanctions imposed against North Korea for its nuclear test this month.
She said North Korea's test of a nuclear device Oct. 9 "requires a strong response," and said that adherence to a U.N. resolution banning the sale of weapons material, luxury goods and more to North Korea is key. The sanctions also seek interception of ships believed to be carrying suspect materials.

"It requires a strong commitment by South Korea," she told the conservative Heritage Foundation. "Any activities need to be seen in the light of making certain to implement that resolution."
South Korea so far has balked at taking strong measures to support the sanctions, mindful of Pyongyang's massive armed forces poised at the border, its family and cultural ties with the North and its wish to expand economic relations with its neighbor. http://www.chron.com/...
North Korea has told South Korea that if it joins US-led sanctions against Pyongyang it will take action. South Korea's participation in sanctions would be seen as a serious provocation leading to a "crisis of war" on the Korean peninsula, a North Korean official said in a statement carried by the official KCNA news agency.http://english.aljazeera.net/...

North Korea's warning that South Korea would suffer if it implements sanctions against it brought a dismissal from the US president on Wednesday.

"The leader of North Korea likes to threaten," said US President George W Bush during an hour-long news conference that focused on Iraq.
http://www.bangkokpost.com/...

First I just want to say that Bush saying NK likes to threaten, is the pot calling the kettle black. Combined, it is a recipe for further problems. I hate his do as I say not as I do politics. what appears as Diplomatic ineptitude to us, is by design. You have to believe, knowing the goading politics of Bush, this knowingly is going to fail and Bush will have the cover of lousy diplomacy and once more be forced to prosecute his planned new order.
Bush's horrible necessary steps for his new world order! http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/....
This is just one more of many predetermined step towards Bush's prosecution of his new world order!

The world can't wait: IT’S WORSE THAN YOU THINK! They're right, we've known reality for a long time!

To the World Can't Wait Community: IT’S WORSE THAN YOU THINK: Where the Bush Regime is Taking the World and Why They Must Be Stopped! http://www.worldcantwait.net/
Neither the full magnitude nor the staggering implications of the Bush program are well understood. The administration systematically lies about its actions and agenda, while the major media and leading Democrats allow the Bush program to frame the overall discussion.
As a result, the most crucial issues are not discussed truthfully either in the public arena or in election campaigns. This is why "The World Can't Wait – Drive Out the Bush Regime", in conjunction with the Bush Crimes Commission and others, have organized this major event October 30. Many of us have known for years, getting the people to realize and care is the problem! Following is the facts as I see them, give me your input please!
These are the unbiased, apolitical, thinking mans facts. Iraq, the middle east, and Afghanistan were all a guaranteed loss when Bushie refused to listen to all good advice to the contrary and attack Iraq not to fight terrorism because if that was the goal he would have stayed in Afghanistan where he knew from watching Russia and history as he once again stupidly ignored, we would have martyrs from all over Islam joining in to fight the foreign invaders.

Instead He used the excuse of 9/11 to attack Iraq and unsettle the middle east guaranteeing the loss of Afghanistan, Iraq, and the entire middle east. He did all this so he could further his idea of a new middle east and world order. Of course lying all the while and whipping up as much support and frenzy as he could in the media and minds he controls.
At this point it behooves him to continue to ignore reality and continue to whip up a frenzy so he can continue staying the course in order to further prosecute his new middle east and world order. He must create disorder before he can replace it with his idea of new order. He is doing that all over the world while feigning Diplomacy, we know that!
We are all shamelessly being used so Bush can follow his plan for new order and all the supposed missteps are for that reason . I wrote this 3 years ago but it is more obvious today. Let me know what you think? I won't get any deeper but it gets worse from here. http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/downloads/Manuscript2.pdf

At this point, all political rhetoric aside our soldiers should be fighting for us not Bush’s lost cause. The middle east and the world already hate us primarily because of Bush’s arrogance, Bullying, and warmongering in order to further his plan for new order. Nobody of consequence to my knowledge is advocating cut and run but Bush in order to use it as a ploy against Democrats for political gain. We do want to hand over Bush’s Iraq mess to the Iraqi’s sooner rather than later. Sadly Iraq will fail because as soon as we do step down and take an advisory role as we should, Maliki’s Government will be defeated. Then they can concentrate on killing each other which we knew would be the results of an Iraq attack.

I don’t know if you looked at Bush Uncovered but someone sent me an article from Catholic World that just blew me away. She read my Doctrine and sent me the article because she said I nailed it and she sent me the sobering facts to back up what I said about him following the doctrine of nihilism in which he has to destroy before he can replace things with his new order. This will blow you away, remember his club at Yale, the skull and bones. Check this out!http://www.todayscatholicworld.com/who-pulled-911.htm

There is only one resolution to what is happening today and believe it or not it is just starting and will get a lot worse. Bush has been following his plan for new order dominated by America, Britain, and Israel, and the world is joining together to go against us. With 118 member nations today belonging to the non aligned Nations, the enemies we have made as a result of attacking Iraq and destabilizing an already unsettled middle east, and our traditional enemies such as Russia, china, and N Korea, it will be us 3 against the world and Bush’s new world order can proceed. Unless we can stop Bush's planned new world order.

His politics of bullying is designed to give him the facade of using diplomacy before he is forced to fight and implement his desired plan from the get go. He is setting everybody up including the world. Maybe the Cheney Cabal is pulling the strings but remember Bush is the decider and only what he thinks matters. He is going to do what he wants and sacrifice whoever he wants in order to further his idea of a new order. There are too many pent up Religious, Nationalistic, emotions, that have been unleashed.

We do not end the violence as it will not be quell or denied now. We must fight and fight to win. This being a Religious war with Bush having hijacked our Democracy and Christianity, we have perverted, unbridled, religiosity on all sides of this so called war on terror and as a result with this being a Religious war it will be the longest and most violent the world.

I did a post a while back thinking that Frist suggested letting the Taliban help in governing Afghanistan because they were too hard to fight. I suggested that letting Saddam out and monitoring him as we do the current Government would be the best way to get Iraq back in order but at this point nothing will stop what Bush has set in motion. Nothing will stop Bush’s middle east breakdown. The only way for a W (win) is too fight preferably from the Home front where our soldiers can defend us and deploy from here as needed. To me the key is to get these political children to stop playing games, realize how bad things really are and going to be, and start putting the country first but I don’t see this happening and that is our biggest problem!

We must start taking back our America on Nov 7 as our future is dependent on it!

U.S. Diplomat Criticizes Iraq Policies, call for Iraq plan before elections now has weight!

One in five Americans believes the United States is winning the war in Iraq, according to a poll. The number has dropped by half since December.
About the same number -- 18 percent -- believe insurgents are winning. But the majority, 60 percent, say no one is winning in Iraq. http://www.cnn.com/...

I am sorry to say but especially in light of the following comments that it is the insurgents that are winning as we have said would be the case from the beginning because of Bush's diversion from fighting terrorism in order to use that excuse to attack Iraq and destabilize the entire middle east,

In light of A senior U.S. diplomat admitting the United States had shown "arrogance" and "stupidity" in Iraq but was now ready to talk with any group except Al-Qaida in Iraq to facilitate national reconciliation.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera television aired late Saturday, Alberto Fernandez, director of public diplomacy in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the State Department offered an unusually candid assessment of America's war in Iraq.
"We tried to do our best but I think there is much room for criticism because, undoubtedly, there was arrogance and there was stupidity from the United States in Iraq," he said.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...

Of course once Bushco got a hold of this it is now being denied but we can be confident it is true and I have to say, we all concur I believe.

In comes Oreilly once again with the wrong take on things He says that With the bad guys in Iraq, Iran and North Korea all causing trouble trying to influence the American election, this is not a great time in the USA. Many folks simply don't want to hear anymore about Iraq and the terrorists and the nutty North Korean guy. People are exhausted and demoralized. http://www.foxnews.com/...
Oreilley is right that we are a bit demoralized but it is not because of Iraq, NK, or Iran, as much as it is because of Bush. He is an embarrassment and has mishandled and worsened every situation in the world. He is wantonly responsible for the Iraq mess along with the ongoing explosion of the middle east because of his prosecution of what he calls a new world order. We're demoralized because Bush is an idiot! But when all is said and done, this all adds credence, urgency, and hopefully the impedance that the following responsible Democratic request for a pre election Iraq plan disclosure be adhered to.

Key Senate Democrats urged the White House on Sunday not to wait until after the U.S. congressional elections in two weeks to give the Iraqi government a timetable to assume a larger role in securing the country.
The top Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, Sen. Carl Levin, said the Iraq strategy blueprint reportedly being drafted for President George W. Bush specifying ways to reduce sectarian violence should also include a schedule for pulling out U.S. forces.
"We shouldn't wait 'till the end of the year to come up with milestones. We ought to be doing that now. We should have done it long ago," Levin of Michigan said on "Fox News Sunday."
The expectation of U.S. troop withdrawal must be the linchpin of any plan, Levin added. "Because without that pressure of our troops leaving Iraq a few months down the road, the Iraqis are not going to do what only they can do, which is to work out those political differences," he said. http://www.alertnet.org/...

I now believe that the tide has turned against Bush, his corruptive ineptitude, and his illegal Iraq war that he must respond positively to this latest request . anyway I look at it, regardless of his answer it is too late too help the Republican's. Tell me what you think!

Darfur's ethnic cleansing Condoned by Bush! why Sudan laughs at Bush! please view the video!

We have heard many stories and seen many posts on the genocide occurring in Darfur at the hands of the Government there. This 60 minutes special on it was the most comprehensive I have seen. I was stunned to find out some of this as I know I am not the only one who is just finding out that while President Bush condemns the ongoing genocide he is actually wantonly condoning .
Once again he is sacrificing people as he is in Iraq only to follow his agenda and for political gain. I knew the JanJaweed were wiping out entire villages and raping and murdering rampantly. I also knew this was Government sanctioned.
I did not know that once the JanJaweed went through and raped and murdered who they could, the Government caught and killed everyone they could as they tried to escape. That was bad enough. Then I watched further I see that an a U.N. meeting Bush was hollowly calling for an end to the genocide while all the while Sudan's Dictator and UN Representative sat there amused and laughing at him.
I thought there was some credibility to Bush as we were feeding the 2 million refugees. Then I found out that Bush and the Dictator signed a peace agreement 5 years ago. not only am I wondering why this mass murder is allowed to continue but I find out why. Bush is feeding the results of his own policy. Once again putting up a facade of concern. He is interacting with the very man who is behind the killings which now number more than 300,000 because he wants information on Bin Laden and he believes it is worth sacrificing millions of people in order to further his cause.

60 minutes video on realities in Darfur and Bush's complacency in ethnic cleansing,a very sobering sign of things to come! only 13 minutes long if you haven't seen it, I recommend it!
http://www.cbsnews.com/...

It hardly seems possible, but the genocide in Darfur is taking a turn for the worse. The government in Sudan has launched a new offensive, maybe trying to finish what it started three years ago. As correspondent Scott Pelley reports, more than 300,000 people are dead and more than two million are refugees in the Sahara. Manuscript!
http://www.cbsnews.com/...

I want you to realize that this is not going to be an isolated event if we fail to successfully prosecute this so called war on terror. The Muslim Government of Sudan is being allowed to kill all non Arabs. Pay attention! Everybody has to realize this is the future for Iraq. Ethnic cleansing! Domination of one sect or the other in the middle east followed by the prosecution of this effort around the world. Darfur is only a sign of things to come if we continue to falter.

The more I learn the more I have to ask! What has bush done?

With Fear the dominant theme, GOP ad sparking furor, look & vote on real issues!

CNN: If President Roosevelt were around today, he might amend that famous line from his first inaugural address.
Apparently, the only thing we have to fear is ... political campaign ads that play on fear.

The latest example now playing on a cable network near you, and soon to be on the political talk show circuit, is a Republican ad as stark as a midnight winter landscape on the Great Plains.

All we hear is a ticking ... what? A clock? A bomb?

Black-and-white graphics appear: pictures of Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri appear along with threatening quotes going back as far as eight years and spelled out on the screen.

There is no mention of the president or of the Republican Party. There is just a warning, "These Are the Stakes," and a reminder to vote. Please view ithttp://www.cnn.com/...

I don't care what they say and our crying foul. As far as I am concerned this should backfire on them and we should turn it against them and use it in our favor because we are the best to fight the real war on terrorism and it wasn't in Iraq until Bush brought it there when he attacked Iraq in order to destabilize the middle east to create he so called new order. If fighting terrorism was his goal he would have stayed in Afghanistan. I hate this fear mongering but let's look at the real issues and we are not hearing them addressed..

What's your personal political platform? What topics get you fired up? Take the quiz below to measure your attitudes on some key issues. Then, share your comments on those topics with CNN.com's Community Caucus and check out other readers' scores! http://www.cnn.com/...

Do you favor or oppose wiretapping phone conversations between someone in the U.S. and someone in another country without a court order if the government suspects that one of those people may be a terrorist?

Do you think the actions taken by the federal government since 9/11 have made the U.S. safer or less safe from terrorism?

Do you think it is more effective to try to prevent terrorist attacks on the U.S. by military action or by economic and diplomatic actions?

Do you favor or oppose building a fence along the entire border with Mexico?

Do you favor or oppose increasing penalties for employers who hire illegal immigrants?

Do you favor or oppose allowing some illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. and apply for citizenship if they have a job and pay back taxes?

On abortion, if you had to choose, would you describe yourself as "pro-life" or "pro-choice?"

Do you think marriages between gays or lesbians should or should not be recognized by the law as valid?

These are the issues and more and we only hear fear mongering. This is why we must get rid of the Republicans. They do not care about doing the right thing for "we the people" They are still concentrating more than ever not on helping us and the country but in keeping their grubby inadequate hands on their corruptive power and this is destroying us!we need somebody that matters to learn how to play their game and turn the tide on them as they routinely do. It is not that hard.

Killing fields of Iraq, Bush: tough! we'll stay the course! Future of Iraq & middle east !

With the recent revelation that our efforts to clean out Baghdad has failed miserably and violence and deaths of Iraqi civilians and our military have increased and sights of the Mahdi Army driving around shaking AK 47's and grenade launchers only to disappear into the community once Iraqi authorities did finally show up. You know this will only continue and get worse. We still have the Chief idiot saying Iraq is tough but we will stay the course.
http://www.eyewitnessnewstv.com/...
Bush is a fool but What Scheer says below is correct but it must be known that he is right in that staying the course is a recipe for disaster but getting help from Syria is asinine because they like Iran will do things with their interest in mind. Also, he too is wrong saying that no one can predict the future of Iraq. It is no prediction it will be fact and Bush should have known it.

Truthdigs Robert Scheer: We are not building democracy, we are creating mayhem.
The evidence arrives daily in the form of dozens, sometimes hundreds, of mutilated bodies. But even the few ghastly images that actually make it onto the television actually underestimate the horror. And it is getting worse, not better: The killing of innocents is now 10 times higher than a year ago.
The most thorough appraisal of Iraqi deaths, done by British and American epidemiologists using accepted norms for public health research and published in the respected medical journal The Lancet, puts the number of war- and occupation-related dead at an appalling 650,000.

The authors, being serious scientists, concede that counting the dead in a country turned into a war zone is a difficult enterprise, but even the lowest figure in their estimate, more than 300,000 dead, is shocking enough. Of course the decider says the truth is hogwash!

Perhaps most important, it is not only the derided "cut and run" domestic critics of the president's policy who recognize that our continued presence is part of the problem rather than of the solution, but also 90 percent of the Iraqi people we are supposedly trying to help, according to recent U.S. government and scholarly public-opinion surveys.

Even more shocking: Six in 10 believe it actually is acceptable to target U.S. troops for assassination. And while President Bush on Monday once again reassured the impotent puppet government in Baghdad that the United States is prepared to "stay the course," the vast majority of both Shiites and Sunnis want us to leave within the next year.

One cannot predict with any certainty the future of Iraq, or the region, in the face of a U.S. military withdrawal, but clearly Bush is wrong in insisting that our continued occupation of Iraq lessens rather than increases the likelihood of future terrorist attacks on the United States. Iraqis, like the Vietnamese, are most of all nationalists, preoccupied with the future of their own country rather than, as the president insists, challenging America's way of life. We still have not a single example of a disgruntled Iraqi carrying the battle to U.S. soil, but the longer we stay, the greater the likelihood of just such blowback.

Staying the course is a prescription for disaster. That is why a commission backed by Bush and led by former Secretary of State James Baker, a Republican and a longtime aide to the Bush family, intends to propose -- against the repeatedly stated wishes of the president -- significant changes in the administration's strategy by early next year, according to the Los Angeles Times and other papers.

Two options under consideration would represent reversals of U.S. policy: withdrawing American troops in phases, and bringing neighboring Syria into a joint effort to stop the fighting," reported the paper. At least one commission participant says they have already decided Bush is dead wrong: "It's not going to be 'stay the course,'" the participant told the Times. "The bottom line is, (U.S. policy) isn't working. ... There's got to be another way."

In other words, Bush's critics were right all along. http://news.yahoo.com/...

Scheer is right but once again like everyone else he is wrong about not being able to predict the future of Iraq and the middle east. It will be in turmoil for many years!

Bush used the excuse of 9/11 to attack Iraq and unsettle the middle east guaranteeing the loss of Afghanistan, Iraq, and the entire middle east. He did all this so he could further his idea of a new middle east and world order. If fighting terrorism was the issue he would have stayed in Afghanistan.

At this point it behooves him to continue to ignore reality so he can continue staying the course in order to further prosecute his new middle east and world order. whether we leave today or 100 years from now the results will be the same. Iraq is exploding and the entire middle east will follow. That is a fact because of Bush. It will not be denied now.
We are all shamelessly being used so Bush can follow his plan for new order. I wrote this 3 years ago but it is more obvious today. Let me know what you think? I won't get any deeper but it gets worse from here. this will all backfire on Bush and his plan will fail!http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/...

Democrats encouraged as Bush admits failure and troops find legal way out of Iraq duty!

During an interview with the ABC television network, President Bush spoke about one possible parallel with Iraq. The comments came when he was asked about a newspaper column by New York Times journalist Thomas Friedman, who compared the recent spike in violence in Iraq to the Vietnam-era Tet offensive.
"He could be right," Mr. Bush said. "There certainly is a stepped-up level of violence, and we are heading into an election."
The Tet offensive is widely considered to be the turning point of the Vietnam War. While Communist forces ultimately lost the Tet offensive, they won a propaganda victory that prompted Americans to lose support for the conflict.

Snow said Bush was simply noting that the enemy in Iraq may be increasing violence in order to affect the November 7 election in the United States, much as communist forces did in Vietnam prior to the U.S. election of 1968.
In Baghdad, a U.S. military spokesman struck a similar chord. Major General William Caldwell said, while it is difficult to tell exactly what the terrorists are thinking, it is possible that they are trying to use violence right now as a way of influencing elections.
"It is no coincidence that the surge in attacks against coalition forces and subsequent increase in U.S. casualties coincides with our increased presence on the streets in Baghdad and the run up to American mid-term elections," he said. "The enemy knows that killing innocent people and Americans will garner headlines and create a sense of frustration." http://voanews.com/...

I am very peeved that Once again Bush is trying to turn his mistakes into a Political issue for his own lying political gain. We, he, initiated these attacks not the terrorists. He was trying to use it to influence the elections not the terrorists or Democrats. Like everything he is involved in this too has failed. The mission to take back Baghdad called operation together forward has been declared a disappointing failure. With pictures of snipers increasingly shooting our soldiers and terrorists driving around waving grenade launchers and guns and declaring victory. The reference is that they are trying to influence our election meaning they want the weak Democrats in office. That is Bullshit! However, It does 2 things!

It provides incentive for our troops to go into debt in order to escape going to war overseas as they are considered a security risk. I don't understand that but it is a vote for soldiers to get into debt and it is on the rise as thousands have taken advantage of this. Of course sometimes one has no control over this and it is sad that soldiers have to even confront this in reality.http://www.foxnews.com/...

Also the failed mission to retake Baghdad that was designed for Repub political gain has also backfired and will be a political gain but for the Democrats as they see that we have not completed the job against Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. "They see that we took our eye off the ball there and went into Iraq. And they see that what we have in Iraq is a mess and chaos and the result of many, many things, including gross incompetence by the Bush administration." I just want to point out that Iraq was lost as soon as Bush attacked it. http://www.dailykos.com/...

Anyway All 435 seats in the House of Representatives are at stake this year, as well as 33 seats in the 100-member Senate and 36 state governorships.
http://voanews.com/...

With the Foley folly looking more and more like another Repub lie and cover up and Bush's Iraq debacle proving to be the mess and loss that we have known it was and now Bush admitting to, the Repub's are defeating themselves as should have been the case from the beginning. Their underhandedness still concerns me come November. What about you?

Americans increasingly killed by snipers! Tom Paine: Common sense on Iraq: Leave Or Be Forced Out!

Listening to all the asinine partisan garbage rhetoric we hear from Bush, this is the first glimpse of reality as to the situation I have seen. It was so good I thought you should see it. I only put in the ending as even they seem to not get how this is going to end because Bush attacked Iraq against all good advice and set this all in motion by destabilizing the middle east and we must get this point through and not let him forget it or get away with it!

George W. Bush continues to use the rhetorical device of linking the occupation of Iraq with the war on terrorism, warning in his most recent press conference that "the terrorists would take control of Iraq" if the U.S. withdrew its forces. But for many politicians and pundits the argument that has kept them supporting the occupation is that withdrawing too soon would make sectarian violence even worse. This argument for continued occupation is not based on the real political-military situation in Iraq, and it is important to understand why.

When U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad gave a speech in Washington his main argument against a "precipitous" withdrawal was that it "could unleash a sectarian civil war, which inevitably would draw neighboring states into a regional conflagration..." That was also the main theme of Sen. Joe Lieberman in arguing against Democratic amendments calling for a timetable for withdrawal in June.

It is not that the civil war won't get worse in Iraq; it now seems very likely that it will. But the United States is not militarily capable of preventing the worse war yet to come, and trying to do so would only start a new war between the United States and the Shiites who want the U.S. to leave. Since we cannot prevent sectarian violence, the only question is whether we leave before the inevitable confrontation with Shiites--a battle U.S. troops would certainly lose.

First, the military reality. With the buildup of the Shiite sectarian militias--and particularly the Mahdi army of Moqtada al-Sadr--the U.S. occupation force no longer represents the predominant military power in Iraq. A study issued in August by Chatham House, the influential British strategic think tank, said the Mahdi army, which was believed to have fewer than 10,000 men under arms when the United States tried to destroy it August 2004, may now be "several hundred thousand strong." In addition, the Badr Organization, which is affiliated with the Supreme Council of Islamic Revolution in Iraq, has tens of thousands of Shiite militiamen.

Sadr is confident that, once the Shiite government has gotten everything it can out of the United States to strengthen Shiite forces, they can defeat the Sunnis by military force. As Moqtada al-Sadr's spokesman Mustafa Yaqoubi told The Washington Post last month, the "other forces" would not "have the capability to match us." Yaqoubi also made it clear that Sadr's Mahdi army intends to force the United States out of Iraq. "If we leave the decision to [the Americans], they will not leave," he said, "To get the occupiers to leave, [the Americans] need some sacrifice."

The dominant power of the Shiite militia means that it is impossible for the United States to remain longer than the Shiites believe it to be useful. As former Defense Intelligence Agency analyst Pat Lang has observed, U.S. troops depend on supply lines that run for hundreds of miles through territory controlled by the Mahdi army. Once Sadr gives the word, supplies can be squeezed enough to render military operations very difficult.

As early as last December, Col. Joseph DiSalvo, commander of a brigade of the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division, who was responsible for eastern Baghdad, told Knight-Ridder's Tom Lasseter it would be all but impossible for coalition forces to defeat the Shiite militias. "We cannot negate the militias," he said. "You'd have to have more manpower than is feasible."

U.S.. forces are incapable of stemming the violence that has blossomed this summer. This June, the Bush administration made much of Operation Forward--its move to bring more U.S. troops into Baghdad and provide security from the forces of sectarian violence. But during the first three months of the new strategy, from June through August, the number of civilians killed each month by sectarian death squads increased to 3,249--one-third more than during the previous three months.

What's more, the U.S. forces were unwilling to confront the most lethal elements of the violence in Baghdad, thus exposing their inability to provide any meaningful security to civilians. Operation Forward Together actually steered clear of the Mahdi army and the Badr Organization. U.S. officers told Peter Beaumont of The Guardian that the United States had supported a decision by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's government not to confront the militias, "because of fears of a full-scale battle with the militia in Sadr City." It is important to note that al-Sadr's political bloc in the Iraqi Parliament were instrumental in providing the votes that brought al-Maliki to power.
Despite rhetoric to the contrary, preventing sectarian violence has never been the priority of the Bush administration in Iraq. At the very time the Shiite militias were building up their power in 2004 and 2005, according to Iraq's interim interior minister Falah al-Naquib, he warned Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and other U.S. officials about the threat they would pose, but "They didn't take us seriously."

The reason for the Bush administration's inattention to the sectarian violence is simple: Focusing on that issue conflicted with the main interest of the Pentagon in building up overwhelmingly Shiite security force to fight the Sunni insurgency. In 2005 and even in 2006, the U.S. command used some of the most notorious Shiite sectarian paramilitary forces, who were known to be guilty of widespread torture of Sunnis, like the Wolf Brigade, to maintain control of Sunni cities like Ramadi.

The Bush administration has no strategy for Iraq except to keep strengthening official Shiite-controlled paramilitary forces of the Iraqi government. The assumption is that Shiite security forces will constrain the larger rogue elements and Shiite militias. But of course, from February through July of this year, in the crucial period of transition to much larger civil war, Iraqi security forces stood aside while Shiites and Sunnis carried out massacres of each other.

Some of the Shiite sectarian forces carrying out revenge killings of Sunnis are headquartered right in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior--the very ministry with which the Bush administration continues to collaborate closely against Sunni insurgents and foreign terrorists. The senior U.S. adviser to the national police admitted that last month that there are "still some militias operating within the national police." And a senior U.S. military commander said at least five or six battalions of paramilitary police were believed to have commanders who had shown themselves to be either "criminal or sectarian or both."

The ministry official responsible for the torture center in Baghdad that was revealed by U.S. officials last November is Mahmoud Waeli, who is also known to be the top intelligence official of the Badr Corps. Yet Waeli continues to operate out of the ministry's headquarters, according to a senior U.S. military official who spoke on background to the Los Angeles Times last summer. The same official said Pentagon and State Department officials were "disengaged" on the issue of the ministry's links with militias.

No, the withdrawal of U.S. forces will not result in an outbreak of sectarian violence leading to civil war. That's already happening. Now, the only recourse for the United States is to pursue the course that the Bush administration has thus far resisted: dropping its threatening demeanor toward Iran and working with it and Iraq's Arab neighbors to craft a settlement that would constrain the Shiite militia and prompt the kind of political and economic concessions to Sunni minority that could bring a Lebanon-style peace between the two communities. But to get the Sunnis on board, such a settlement would require that Bush agree to a timetable for withdrawal.

The argument that U.S. occupation is the only thing standing between Iraq and complete civil war and chaos argument is symptomatic of a broad refusal to face unpalatable realities that has distorted the national discourse on Iraq. In order to make the national decision to end the occupation, the pundits and politicians will have to face those realities squarely and start making them part of that discourse. Meanwhile, our troops are doing no good to anyone as sitting targets for both sides.
http://www.tompaine.com/...

To top it off our troops are suffering increasingly the highest casualties of the war with 69 so far this monthly. They are increasingly being killed by snipers. Watch this disturbing graphic CNN footage.
http://www.cnn.com/...
This is the first story I have seen from someone other than us that sees things as they are and speaks the truth. However, it is too late to stop this! Try as we may this will not be stopped by anyone. Iran and other Arab neighbors will manipulate their own interests. this is still just getting started. Bottom line! We can not let Bush forget that he did this.He got in over his drunk head!
He had plans right from the beginning to establish a new societal, middle east, and world order. That is why it was important to him to whip up a media and public fury which of course, he has done.
He then used the excuse of 9/11 to attack Iraq and unsettle the middle east guaranteeing the loss of Afghanistan, Iraq, and the entire middle east. He did all this so he could further his idea of a new middle east and world order. If fighting terrorism was his goal instead of creating it for his gain he would have stayed in Afghanistan and done the job.

This will not be won as Bush thinks regardless, we must withdraw strategically and let them fight it out. They will follow us hear regardless of when we leave. We must stop Bush from using that stupid line along with Dems want to cut and run.! Someone must see reality and be able to counter Bush's idiocy. Our military will be needed right here and bush is guaranteeing Japan, Israel, Taiwan, and others that we will defend them. WTF is wrong with this idiot?

North Korea will continue defiance and China will help as Bush's Diplomacy Facade Continues!

With North Korea supplying the excuse for increased sanctions, Bush knows his desire to progress his new world order will be presented to him. He knows NK will rebel against this, forcing the world and NK into further action! Bush's new world order will progress!

With this in mind we know that China has started to reinforce their border with NK to me primarily to stem a possible flow of North Korean refugees fleeing the destitute conditions on regular citizens and for no other reason. We also know they as of yet, refuse to monitor NK ships and search for illegal Arms shipments or worse, nuclear contraband which could get in the hands of Iran, terrorists or other third world nations.

This concerns me as I just don't trust Kim Jong IL and he is responding just as most of us and by my theory as Bush expected him to. Also how do we verify that China will monitor any movement of illicit materials until and if they get caught. then what do we do? This is not a good situation!
World Updates: North Korea on Tuesday denounced U.N. sanctions over its nuclear test as a declaration of war and the United States and others suspected it may try a second bomb test despite international condemnation.
Defiant in the face of sanctions backed by even its closest ally, China, Pyongyang said it had withstood international pressure before and so was hardly likely to yield now that it had become "a nuclear weapons state."
It is quite nonsensical to expect the DPRK to yield to the pressure and threat of someone at this time when it has become a nuclear weapons state," official media quoted a Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying.

The DPRK wants peace but is not afraid of war," he said, referring to the country's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The Bush administration said it would not be surprised by a second North Korean test meant to test the will of the United Nations and the five states -- the United States, China, Japan, South Korea and Russia -- engaged in long-stalled talks with Pyongyang.

The North Koreans have made no secret of their desire to be provocative. The first test, while nuclear, did have a low yield and perhaps it would not be unreasonable to expect that the North Koreans would like to try to something again," White House spokesman Tony Snow said in Washington.

Tony Snow: "It would not be a good thing for them, but it certainly would not be out of character."

The Bush administration said it would not be surprised by a second North Korean test meant to test the will of the United Nations and the five states -- the United States, China, Japan, South Korea and Russia -- engaged in long-stalled talks with Pyongyang. http://thestar.com.my/...

Tony Snowjobs own words: It is quite nonsensical to expect the DPRK to yield to the pressure and threat of someone at this time when it has become a nuclear weapons state,"
And the fact that The Bush administration said it would not be surprised by a second North Korean test meant to test the will of the United Nations. You have to believe, knowing the goading politics of Bush if as Is my belief, this knowingly is going to fail and Bush will have the cover of lousy diplomacy and once more be forced to prosecute his planned new order. Bush's horrible necessary steps for his new world order! What a setup! Bushwhacked and Hoodwinked Bush's plan! http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/....

Thom Hartman Inspired: What is a progressive? Progressive history! Why we must fight Bush!

What is a progressive? A Progressive is defined as one believing in moderate political change and especially Social improvement by Government action! The knowledge that Bushco fights this vehemently is telling to what they have done to our America. We are vilely called Liberals! Liberals are for Liberty! Isn't that supposed to be what America is all about? That Bushco and the so called right fight this so viciously is also very telling.
Are You a Progressive? A Progressive Liberal?
Anyway, with that said I am learning that I am a Progressive Liberal who wants a better Government and proud of it! Why is that made to sound so wrong? it sounds only right!
I want our Government back! I want our America back! I want our rights back! The fact that we have to fight for something that we had and should be ours by definition of what America stands or stood for is again too telling.

What Bush has created with his new America is not ours! Okay, I see by definition that being a progressive liberal is anti Bush and his version of a new societal, middle east, and world order.
http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/...
Knowing what Bush has done to America and the world and why makes it only right to want our America back. When I saw spelled out what he was doing and why, not only was I frighteningly right but absolutely stunned!
http://www.todayscatholicworld.com/...

Knowing that we must not stop fighting Bush and his terrible plans I was led naturally to look at the progressive movement and the struggle for reform in America.
http://www.colorado.edu/...

In reading about The progressive era I learned Thomas Edison said in 1912 we've got to start making the world over. I had no idea that this movement is so old. We have obviously done a lousy job and up to now, failed. I also learned that the progressive movement was quite complex and I had a lot to learn. I am part of a Historic pretty old movement and I had no idea.
In my ignorance I thought it was born as a result of Bush and his antics and I found the definitions and makeup very confusing! Bush only made the movement more important than ever. Please help me understand!

Hartman: Undeclared war on middle class, Lou Dobbs: It's time to fight, Under Bush, sad but true!

opednews: If you are familiar with Thom Hartmann's daily Air America radio program, the perspective and clarity of his latest book, Screwed: The Undeclared War Against the Middle Class (and What We Can Do About It) won't take you by surprise. That's not to say that there's nothing new in it; Hartmann offers his perspectives here in a readable format using the same debating skill he demonstrates in his radio show when hosting conservative guests.

Hartmann doesn't use the book as a debate forum. He simply lays out cogent arguments that support his progressive view and refutes conservative premises in the process. Not that his views are extreme or radical, though they may seem that way in comparison to the Bush Republicans.
.
Hartmann represents what the "progressive" label is supposed to convey these days, though there was a time when these views were considered rather moderate - even middle-of-the-road Democratic - which demonstrates how far we've been blown off course.

Hartmann frames his thesis with solid and reasoned discourse that dissembles voodoo economic concepts, exposing their false premises and empty promises. He deftly handles the economic and political-philosophical issues that underlie his premise, and his arguments are hard to refute not only because they are logical and fair-minded but also because they are supported by facts, which Hartmann provides.

As the title suggests, Hartmann's position is that the middle class has been screwed by the very government it trusted. To be sure, there have been abuses by politicos of all stripes and he doesn't spare those who have betrayed the middle class values that are the foundation of our democracy, regardless of party affiliation. But, Hartmann warns us, we are now at a dangerous crossroads: the US has entered a new gilded age, not entirely dissimilar to the age of the Carnegies and Rockefellers at the turn of the last century. It took several decades, a Depression, and a leader with the stature and respect of FDR to set us on the right path again. If we don't take back the democracy that is being lost in the 21st century gilded age, we stand to lose the solid middle class that is the glue for keeping democracy in tact and healthy.

Despite rhetoric about conservatives, the same con men selling us the story about our founding fathers, who fought courageously for the country, are selling the middle class down the river with myths about our own history. While many of the founding fathers did fight, what they fought for was to be free of the politics of England that enriched the king and the royals while the rest of the people lived in Dickensonian poverty. We are at that precipice and we need to retake the country from the hands of the rich and put it back into the hands of the decent Americans in the middle who struggle every day to make an honest living and are getting screwed.

So what does Hartmann propose that we the people do about this situation? He has several suggestions but all require that people get active. The Revolution was not won by passive agreement with its principles; watching it on TV won't do. Hartmann's prescription is to demand a return to the policies and programs that have been dismantled since Reagan plus the addition of a new one-a single-payer health care plan based on Medicare. As he notes, a single-payer health plan was proposed by Truman and defeated by the Republicans of his time. Read the whole review, it's interesting!
http://www.opednews.com/...

We know this is all true and we have been writing about it for years now. I seem to be highlighting lately the books that seem to be coming out frequently now and at a time for us to highlight the damage Bushco has cone to average Americans.we have written many times that during the revolution the enemy was from without but today the enemy is from within, our own Government! I frequently say we must take our America back if we are to have future as a viable society as we knew it. i often say that it will not change unless we get seriously involved because those benefiting from corruptive idea of a Government are not going to change it willingly.
Lou Dobbs take: Our country's middle class is not just collateral damage in what has become all-out class warfare. Political, business and academic elites are waging an outright war on working men and women and their families, and there is no chance the American middle class will survive this assault if the dominant forces unleashed over the past five years continue unchecked.

They've accomplished this through large campaign contributions, armies of lobbyists that have swamped Washington, and control of political and economic think tanks and media. Lobbyists, in fact, are the arms dealers in the war on the middle class, brokering money, influence and information between their clients our elected officials.

There's something all of us could do that would have an immediate impact and send a powerful message to both corporation-dominated political parties and to our elected officials in Washington. Our so-called representatives in both parties have been working against the interests of the middle class for so long that they take our votes for granted, or they take advantage of the fact that a sizable number of us don't vote at all.

So what if a majority of us decided once and for all to walk into our town and city halls all over the country and change our party affiliation from Republican or Democrat to independent? What if that sizable number of us who don't vote at all decided to register as independents? For the first time in decades, working middle-class Americans might just get the attention of our elected officials in Washington.

Our middle class has suffered in silence for far too long, and it cannot afford to suffer or be silent much longer. Hardworking Americans have not spoken out about their increasingly marginalized role in this society, and as a consequence they've all but lost their voice.

I sincerely hope that we will find the resolve to face these challenges to our way of life, and we do so soon. George Bernard Shaw said, "It is dangerous to be sincere unless you are also stupid." I'm stupid enough to be absolutely sincere in the hope that middle-class America will awake soon and take action. http://www.cnn.com/...

Again, this is all true as we all experience it daily. as you all know, this has been happening at high speed under Bush in an effort to fully implement his new societal order. http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/...

We have been trying for years to get someone to do something about it and maybe these two books will help us. We need all the help we can get! in the end we must get involved ourselves.

Barack Obama A good man for the future, needed in Dem Congress, needs more training for Presidency!

Times Joe Kline:The question of when Obama who has not yet served two years in the U.S. Senate will run for president is omnipresent. That he will eventually run, and win, is assumed by almost everyone who comes to watch him speak. In Davenport a local reporter asks the question directly: "Are you running for president in 2008?"
Obama surprises me by saying he's just thinking about the 2006 election right now, which, in the semiotic dance of presidential politics, is definitely not a no. A few days later, I ask Obama the obvious follow-up question: Will he think about running for President in 2008 when the congressional election is over?

I will think about how I can be most useful to the country and how I can reconcile that with being a good dad and a good husband," he says carefully, and then adds, "I haven't completely decided or unraveled that puzzle yet."

About halfway through the hour-long meeting in Rockford Illinois a middle-aged man stands up and says what seems to be on everyone's mind, with appropriate passion: "Congress hasn't done a damn thing this year. I'm tired of the politicians blaming each other. We should throw them all out and start over!" "Including me?" the senator asks.
A chorus of n-o-o-o-s. "Not you," the man says. "You're brand new." http://www.cnn.com/...

I have to agree with this sentiment. Under Bush and a Republican controlled Congress we have done nothing but harm America. Respected Authors voice what we all know is a do nothing Congress, it's a shambles and must be replaced. http://www.contracostatimes.com/...

Any politician who has been inadequate should be replaced in November regardless of party. I happen to like Obama and think he is still in the learning stage and much needed in what I have hopes will be a Democrat controlled Congress. With his understanding that we should woo Fundamentalist's in hopes of showing them how to get in line with real Christianity and that Religion while important as what motivates you to be a good person, should not be controlling our politics as it does under Bush and the Repubs. I have to agree with him.

Sen. Barack Obama chastised fellow Democrats for failing to "acknowledge the power of faith in the lives of the American people" and said the party must compete for the support of evangelicals and other churchgoing Americans.

"Not every mention of God in public is a breach to the wall of separation. Context matters," the Illinois Democrat said in remarks to a conference of Call to Renewal, a faith-based movement to overcome poverty.

"It is doubtful that children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance feel oppressed or brainwashed as a consequence of muttering the phrase `under God,"` he said. "Having voluntary student prayer groups using school property to meet should not be a threat any more than its use by the High School Republicans should threaten Democrats."

Obama said millions of Christians, Muslims and Jews have traveled similar religious paths, and that is why "we cannot abandon the field of religious discourse.
In other words, if we don't reach out to evangelical Christians and other religious Americans and tell them what we stand for, Jerry Falwell's and Pat Robertson's will continue to hold sway."

Obama coupled his advice with a warning. "Nothing is more transparent than inauthentic expressions of faith: the politician who shows up at a black church around election time and claps -- off rhythm -- to the gospel choir." At the same time, he said, "Secularists are wrong when they ask believers to leave their religion at the door before entering the public square."

As a result, "I think we make a mistake when we fail to acknowledge the power of faith in the lives of the American people and join a serious debate about how to reconcile faith with our modern, pluralistic democracy."

Obama mentioned leaders of the religious right briefly, saying they must "accept some ground rules for collaboration" and recognize the importance of the separation of church and state.
http://www.cnn.com/....

I have to agree and Again I say that Obama has a unique understanding and his wisdom is there but should represent us an Congress for a while where he can gain much needed experience. To me we and the world need seasoned wisdom in 08 in order to clean up after Bush. I have not heard a declaration of a run in 08 but to me the only person for the job is Al Gore!

The Greatest Story Ever Sold! Decline & fall of truth from 9/11 to Katrina! We were right & ...

Rich supplies the truth! When America was attacked on 9/11, its citizens almost unanimously rallied behind its new, untested president as he went to war. What they didn't know at the time was that the Bush administration's highest priority was not to vanquish Al Qaeda but to consolidate its own power at any cost. It was a mission that could be accomplished only by a propaganda presidency in which reality was steadily replaced by a scenario of the White House's own invention--and such was that scenario's devious brilliance that it fashioned a second war against an enemy that did not attack America on 9/11, intimidated the Democrats into incoherence and impotence, and turned a presidential election into an irrelevant referendum on macho imagery and same-sex marriage.

As only he can, acclaimed New York Times columnist Frank Rich delivers a step-by-step chronicle of how skillfully the White House built its house of cards and how
The institutions that should have exposed these fictions, the mainstream news media, were too often left powerless by the administration's relentless attack machine, their own post-9/11 timidity, and an unending parade of self-inflicted scandals (typified by those at The New York Times).
Demonstrating the candor and conviction that have made him one of our most trusted and incisive public voices, Rich brilliantly and meticulously illuminates the White House's disturbing love affair with "truthiness," and the ways in which a bungled war, a seemingly obscure Washington leak, and a devastating hurricane at long last revealed the man-behind-the-curtain and the story that had so effectively been sold to the nation, as god-given patriotic fact. http://www2.oprah.com/...

Ugly reality? By STEVE WEINBERG

Avid baseball fans might be forgiven for thinking of George W. Bush first as an owner of the Texas Rangers, then as Texas governor and U.S. president.
As a Rangers spokesman, Bush learned how to blur actual reality and false reality, according to author Frank Rich. "When catering to the rich by adding a profusion of luxury boxes to his new stadium, he hired an architect to camouflage the class distinctions from the hoi polloi," Rich says. As part of his strategy to fool Rangers fans, Bush "flattered reporters and sweetened the amenities in the press box."
Now, in a book that aims to prove that George W. Bush has lied over and over to the citizenry, the president of the United States and his dishonest advisers receive credit from Rich for one thread of truthfulness: Their admission that they make life-and-death decisions by relying on Christian faith rather than fact-based reality.

Rich's book is grounded in fact-based reality -- lots of facts, lots of ugly realities.

Like many commentators who can fairly be termed politically liberal, Rich has become unhinged by the George W. Bush-Dick Cheney White House. Rich's disagreements with the president and all his men (a few women, too) have been obvious since 2001. Unlike many other columnists, however, Rich has done his homework about the so-called war on terrorism, the invasion of Iraq, the reaction to Hurricane Katrina and other cataclysmic events.

My, has he done his homework. In an exhaustive -- and sometimes exhausting -- indictment, Rich catalogs hundreds of half-truths and undiluted lies communicated by the Bush White House to the citizenry it is supposed to serve honestly. Along the way, Rich indicts lots of journalists (especially Washington Post reporter/book author Bob Woodward, not to mention Rich's own New York Times colleagues), bloggers, Democratic politicians, Hollywood movie makers and others with a platform who could have helped disseminate the truth but instead kowtowed to White House fear mongers. He indicts untold millions of those without a platform as well, the voters (and nonvoter's) who constitute "an American culture that was an all-too-easy mark for the flimflam."

Although Rich was best known as the Times' theater critic before becoming a columnist, it turns out he possesses considerable investigative skills, as he follows the muckraker's maxim about proving what public officials knew and when they knew it.

For readers who might charge Rich with exaggeration (could a president and his staff really lie so frequently and so baldly?) or partisan political bias, he provides an 80-page timeline at the end of the book. The entries in the right-hand column "chronicle the story that was sold by the Bush administration and other relevant events, news reports or official statements that were known publicly at the time." The left-hand column entries "chronicle what the administration was learning behind the scenes about intelligence and other war-related matters, and not telling the public. The events in this hidden timeline were revealed publicly only later."

Rich understands that for the most part he is not breaking news: "While the controversial policy choices made by the Bush administration are well known, equally important is the way it dramatized its fable to the nation and made it credible to so many, even when it wasn't remotely true." But he also understands he is aggregating information unlike anybody else has done. The aggregation allows Rich to speculate in an informed manner about why so many lies occurred during such a relatively short period.

His answer: "to amass power and hold on to it."

All U.S. presidents have sought to amass power and hold on to it. Rich believes, however, that no previous administration has crossed so many ethical, moral and sometimes legal lines. The context provided by Rich is helpful and disturbing, especially as he demonstrates how President Ronald Reagan and his "image maven" Michael Deaver influenced Bush and his spinmeister Karl Rove.
Rich writes that when Reagan "cut any federal subsidy for the elderly, it was time for him to be televised surrounded by flags cutting the ribbon at a new nursing home. The pictures could be counted on to carry the day and to drown out any discouraging words from Reagan critics on the evening news. Bush and Rove took this playbook as a starting point and then upped the ante."

Bush and Rove perhaps do not care that Rich is suggesting they are congenital liars. But voters -- those who cast ballots for Bush during 2000 and 2004, those who despise Bush's presidency, and everybody in between -- ought to care. Billions of budget dollars and an untold number of lives hang in the balance. http://www.chron.com/...
This coincides with what many of us have known but can't get heard!

Bush allowed Katrina to run its course on purpose. He as you know is forming a new societal order as we all experience.
Of course lying all the while and whipping up as much support and frenzy as he could in the media and minds he controls.
At this point it behooves him to continue to ignore reality and continue to whip up a frenzy so he can continue staying the course in order to further prosecute his new middle east and world order.
We are all shamelessly being used so Bush can follow his plan for new order. I wrote this 3 years ago but it is more obvious today. Let me know what you think? I won't get any deeper but it gets worse from here.
http://www.anaveragepatriot.com/...

Frank Rich gives proof to what many of us have known from the beginning. As Bush continues his lies by supporting Hastert and bragging Hastert will still be in his position after the elections we must put an end to these lies! we must end this lying power grab!

Yesterday's Bush Idiocy A reminder of why we Must Impeach the Idiot!

You Can Help Impeach George W. Bush
A message from Ramsey Clark
http://www.votetoimpeach.org Please learn more!

Dear James,

There can be no conflict between freedom and security. We must have both, or we will have neither. President Bush insists that we sacrifice freedom to be secure. His actions as President have endangered both our freedom and our security.
President Bush has radically diminished the security of the United States by his criminal acts. His wars of aggression, defined as the "Supreme international crime" by the Nuremberg Court, in Afghanistan and Iraq have created anger, fear and hatred among vast populations all blaming the United States.

Thousands of young men have been motivated to violence by the invasions and illegal U.S. occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. U.S. military bases, embassies, businesses and tourists around the globe are threatened because of the Bush Administration's aggressions and threats against "evil empires" others call home, or their part of the world. Fear of what President Bush calls "terrorist acts" stalks our own land.

Today's news reveals that 655,000 Iraqis have died as a consequence of the U.S. invasion and occupation of their country. This is being reported by the medical journal the Lancet from a study performed by U.S. and Iraqi doctors under the auspices of Johns Hopkins University. This stands as one of the great crimes in the modern era. George W. Bush and others responsible must be impeached.

U.S. intelligence agencies have confirmed the obvious. The U.S. assault and continuing presence in Iraq has fueled a new and massive potential for violence against the U.S. by people theretofore friendly to the U.S. Common sense and the slightest understanding of human nature informs us all that people react angrily to threats, assaults and foreign military occupations perceived as unjustified.

In a poll conducted in Iraq in early September by the University of Maryland, it was found that 75% of the Iraqi population believe the U.S. occupation causes more violence than would occur if the U.S. withdrew and now favor complete U.S. withdrawal within a year.

U.S. military capacity has been drastically impaired. Beyond the 2,740 military deaths and 20,000 serious injuries, more than 1,200 in August 2006 alone, the radically increasing military burden of Afghanistan and total additional war costs approaching a trillion dollars.

Bush's belligerence has created new crises. Consider North Korea, where a million troops have been massed on the border with the South. Seoul is within range of rockets from the North. All of the Korean people, in both the North and the South want peace and yet they are faced with a new possible confrontation.

With his usual arrogance, President Bush refused for nearly six years to talk with North Korea one on one, while threatening it constantly as an evil empire. He forced North Korea to show test, first its rockets, and now a nuclear warhead, to deter U.S. aggression against its people.

North Korea has witnessed George Bush's merciless aggressions against other nations and knows the U.S., at the very moment it threatens other nations not to develop nuclear weapons, is itself replacing older nuclear warheads and developing more advanced nuclear warheads and rocketry at a cost of additional hundreds of billions of dollars.

When the U.S. signed the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty, more than three decades ago, it agreed to phase its nuclear arsenal out of existence to achieve a nuclear free world. George Bush has raced in the opposite direction.

The U.S. must lead the world in an open, orderly, total elimination of all nuclear arms. Only then can we hope for other nations to seek the same end. Add other continuing crises: Somalia where U.S. backed militia leaders have been driven out by Islamic forces; the continuing tragedy of Darfur; the use of National Guard units to police the border with Mexico; the greater toll in lives taken by Katrina because of the absence of Louisiana National Guard units sent to Iraq by President Bush; and you have the U.S. military stretched beyond its capacity to provide security for the U.S. because of President Bush's War on Terrorism which most of a billion plus Muslims believe is a war on Islam.

A dd his continuing threats against half a dozen countries, most notably at this moment his reaction to North Korea's nuclear bomb test and his announced plan to "punish" Iran, and his foreign policy is clear.

We, the people of the United States do not need this, but we are paying a staggering price in honor, respect, security and quality of life that threatens our future.

President Bush has simultaneously sacrificed freedom in America as no other President in our history by his criminal acts. While proclaiming his very purpose to be freedom, he has usurped power. He has granted himself the right to seize Americans and any others, tell no one, hold people arbitrarily, interrogate them ad nauseum, and use torture; to wiretap at will without warrants any person anywhere, abolish and defile the writ of habeas corpus -- the Great Writ of a free people -- use secret prisons in foreign countries where prisoners held are helpless. With contempt, he rejects the Geneva Conventions, designed to protect prisoners of war and civilian populations, ours as well as others. He is responsible for the destruction of Fallujah, Ramadi, Baghdad, Samara and deaths of children, the elderly and defenseless populations.

These acts include the crimes of murder, assault, kidnapping, torture, wrongful imprisonment to name a few. Having drastically eroded both security and freedom, President Bush daily condemns political opponents for lacking the courage to sacrifice freedom to win his worldwide "war on terrorism."

Using fear, he has sacrificed freedom on the altar of security, questioning the patriotism of anyone who challenges his excesses.

President Bush proclaims the sacrifice of freedom as the price of security, assaulting both in the process. The obvious reality is that a people must have both freedom and security, or they will have neither. The absence of freedom will compel people to struggle against the repression of security measures, and the absence of security will threaten the freedom of all. No one is free who must live in a bomb shelter or cannot walk the streets with safety.

If the American people are to be both free and secure, intend to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and secure the blessing of liberty for ourselves and our posterity, in the words of Justice Hugo Black, "we must not be afraid to be free."

Demand that the House of Representatives impeach George W. Bush, his Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and other officials, complicit in the High Crimes and Misdemeanors that have been committed in our name. We must act now to impeach President Bush.

Sincerely,

Ramsey Clark

Nov 7 approaching: Politics hot and heavy! Proof Whoever controls the Issues Controls the Elections!

As new polls showed Democrats taking advantage of a wave of hostile sentiment over the Iraq war and the Mark Foley sex scandal, some Republicans were clinging to the hope that news of the North Korean nuclear test might bring some supporters back to them.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/... Bush is doing his share in this end as....

The Bush administration rejected anew Tuesday direct talks with North Korea and said it would not be intimidated by a reported threat from Pyongyang that it could fire a nuclear-tipped missile unless the U.S. acts to resolve the standoff.

This is the way North Korea typically negotiates by threat and intimidation," said U.S. Ambassador John Bolton. "It's worked for them before. It won't work for them now." http://www.abcnews.go.com/... Bolton's words apply to Bush also as we know all too well, as Bush does his best to make NK the issue on the 7th!
As we listen to McCain trying to divert attention off Foley and failing Iraq by blaming Clinton for Bush's failed NK Mis Diplomacy that resulted in NK's nuclear detonation.
http://www.chron.com/... I want you to remember the facts of Bush's Bullying and the expected negative results!

Jan. 29, 2002: Bush labels North Korea, Iran and Iraq an "axis of evil."

Jan. 10, 2003: North Korea says it will withdraw from Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

April 24, 2003: North Korea says it has nuclear weapons and may test, export or use them depending on U.S. actions, Washington says.

Feb. 10, 2005: North Korea announces it has nuclear weapons.

Sept. 15, 2005: U.S. blacklists a Macau-based bank for alleged involvement in North Korea's illicit activity such as money laundering and counterfeiting, leads the bank to freeze North Korean assets.

Sept. 26: North Korea rejects further talks on its nuclear program, claims Washington wants to rule the world.

Oct. 3: North Korea says it will conduct a nuclear test in the face of what it claimed was "the U.S. extreme threat of a nuclear war."

Oct. 9: North Korea says it has conducted its first-ever nuclear test. http://www.iht.com/.... It seems obvious to me who should take the credit for this as Dems try to remind us, as if we needed it, of the dire consequences of Bush's created Iraq war!

A controversial new study contends nearly 655,000 Iraqis have died because of the war, suggesting a far higher death toll than other estimates.

The timing of the survey's release, just a few weeks before the U.S. congressional elections, led one expert to call it "politics." http://www.cnn.com/...

It is all politics of course, so what? If the truth is told, that is all that should matter. If it does not serve your interests then you better adjust accordingly and fly right!

I just want to point out that we seem to have once again let the Repubs divert attention from their corruptive ineptitude i.e.. the Foley Scandal. I haven't heard anything of the fact that Hastert appears to have skirted responsibility by being able to hide the fact of his prior knowledge even though A former chief of staff for Foley said last week that he first advised Hastert's office of the Florida congressman's troublesome behavior three years ago. Hastert's chief of staff has denied it.

As far as Bush and Hastert are concerned, that kills the issue of Hastert's prior knowledge , once again hiding behind a closed mouth cover up! http://www.washingtonpost.com/...

We can not allow this cover up and Hastert's inequities to be quieted. We cannot allow attention to be diverted from Foley onto North Korea. We can argue the fact that NK and nukes is a result of Bush's Bullying and not Clinton's lack of activity.

However, while I wonder how Bushco seems to have quieted the Woodward factor i must say we can not allow them to do this to Foleygate!
