One in five Americans believes the United States is winning the war in Iraq, according to a poll. The number has dropped by half since December.
About the same number -- 18 percent -- believe insurgents are winning. But the majority, 60 percent, say no one is winning in Iraq. http://www.cnn.com/...
I am sorry to say but especially in light of the following comments that it is the insurgents that are winning as we have said would be the case from the beginning because of Bush's diversion from fighting terrorism in order to use that excuse to attack Iraq and destabilize the entire middle east,
In light of A senior U.S. diplomat admitting the United States had shown "arrogance" and "stupidity" in Iraq but was now ready to talk with any group except Al-Qaida in Iraq to facilitate national reconciliation.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera television aired late Saturday, Alberto Fernandez, director of public diplomacy in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the State Department offered an unusually candid assessment of America's war in Iraq.
"We tried to do our best but I think there is much room for criticism because, undoubtedly, there was arrogance and there was stupidity from the United States in Iraq," he said.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...
Of course once Bushco got a hold of this it is now being denied but we can be confident it is true and I have to say, we all concur I believe.
In comes Oreilly once again with the wrong take on things He says that With the bad guys in Iraq, Iran and North Korea all causing trouble trying to influence the American election, this is not a great time in the USA. Many folks simply don't want to hear anymore about Iraq and the terrorists and the nutty North Korean guy. People are exhausted and demoralized. http://www.foxnews.com/...
Oreilley is right that we are a bit demoralized but it is not because of Iraq, NK, or Iran, as much as it is because of Bush. He is an embarrassment and has mishandled and worsened every situation in the world. He is wantonly responsible for the Iraq mess along with the ongoing explosion of the middle east because of his prosecution of what he calls a new world order. We're demoralized because Bush is an idiot! But when all is said and done, this all adds credence, urgency, and hopefully the impedance that the following responsible Democratic request for a pre election Iraq plan disclosure be adhered to.
Key Senate Democrats urged the White House on Sunday not to wait until after the U.S. congressional elections in two weeks to give the Iraqi government a timetable to assume a larger role in securing the country.
The top Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, Sen. Carl Levin, said the Iraq strategy blueprint reportedly being drafted for President George W. Bush specifying ways to reduce sectarian violence should also include a schedule for pulling out U.S. forces.
"We shouldn't wait 'till the end of the year to come up with milestones. We ought to be doing that now. We should have done it long ago," Levin of Michigan said on "Fox News Sunday."
The expectation of U.S. troop withdrawal must be the linchpin of any plan, Levin added. "Because without that pressure of our troops leaving Iraq a few months down the road, the Iraqis are not going to do what only they can do, which is to work out those political differences," he said. http://www.alertnet.org/...
I now believe that the tide has turned against Bush, his corruptive ineptitude, and his illegal Iraq war that he must respond positively to this latest request . anyway I look at it, regardless of his answer it is too late too help the Republican's. Tell me what you think!
