Fighting across Libya intensifies

There are tanks in the center of the towns killing people as they sleep but what are we supposed to do? I remember from day one hearing that Egypt was arming the rebels. Well they better hurry up and the rebels are going to have to realize they have to do this themselves and it will not be easy. We needed help and it was France who gave it to us during our Revolution.

France is the one that recognized the rebels as the valid Government of Libya. France is the one who took the lead in instigating for the no fly zone and coming to the aid of the rebels. That said if there are to be ground forces to aid the rebels they should be Frances. I just do not want to have to pick up after them as we did in Vietnam and we know how well that went.

I reiterate: We better hand this over quick to Qatar, France, and Britain and get out. Nothing on the ground has changed for the rebels though. I listened to a witness account where Gaddafi's forces were in Misrata pulling people out of their houses and slaughtering them. They were also pulling them off the street and killing them. That will not change!

Republicans continue their identity crisis as they call for GM Boycott and Obama failure as he continues to shine!

Republicans never fail to stupefy me. First I have to ask, Did anyone notice that the west just scored their first victory in the middle east? As far as I am concerned it is in direct response to Obama's well received speech in Cairo. The war instigator Bush compelled the Lebanese to vote for Iran aligned Hezbollah to lead them.We now have a peace President who genuinely wants Peace in the middle east not his way but their way. The Lebanese just voted in Hamas to lead them. I for one am psyched and have to hope the same happens in Iran next week and hard liner Ahmadinejad is voted out as looks to be the case right now.

Knowing how the entire world was floored with the beauty of Obama's speech in Cairo with the exception of Republicans and other terrorists as I wrote the other day. I was immensely impressed with Obama's humility and expression of Love for America while expressing to the world as he should have that he was a citizen of the world. That was beautiful and the entire world believes the same thing. We can lead if they want to be led but we are no better than anyone else.

I was stunned to hear Gingrich stupid enough to say to an audience of so called conservative supporters that he was an American and not a citizen of the world. That absolutely blew me away. In you immediate family you are a member of the entire family whether you agree with them or not. You can pick your friends but you can not pick your family as the saying went. Gingrich said he would never be a citizen of North Korea or Venezuela. Neither would I but like it or not they are still part of the world family and we must somehow get along.

Gingrich is definitely not the one to lead the Republicans out of the "wilderness" He would only lead them further into the wilderness. I heard this funny line yesterday and it is dead on. "Gingrich has more baggage than Samsonite" That Partisan mindless idiot said we would be amazingly better off if McCain and Palin got elected. Palin? I mean come on. Have some respect for yourself.

The public was polled yesterday to find out who they thought spoke for the GOP. 52% of the public did not know. Sounds like success to me. The rest were divvied up in small numbers between Cheney, Gingrich, Limbaugh, and McCain with 1% saying GW. They have not reinvented themselves. They are not the big tent party. They are still the pup tent party. The party of angry old white men they did not want to become.

Hummer a part of GM was just sold to China with no guarantee that the plants would be in America after 2010? 789 Chrysler dealerships have been forced to close? During a press conference at the Summit Obama accurately described the economic recovery stimulus project as the largest in the History of the world and it is. I am enthralled because the entire so called civilized world appears to be coming together. This meeting is the first time in history the world has come together to solve a problem that affects the entire world. I am tickled pink to see that Obama is up to the task. He never disappoints those that meet him. Give him a chance, follow and he will lead the way!

During the the interview yesterday to quiet concerns over America's large economic stimulus because countries like France and Germany do not plan on following as they must Obama expressed consensus! he pointed out in his eloquent manner of speech that Australia, Canada, Japan, and China, all had substantial programs and all Governments will have to act. Everyone will in fact have to pick up the pace! Gordon Brown backed it up by saying this is a global problem that requires global cooperation and a Global solution! The situation will only get worse if country's do not act. Myself I am convinced we must do this but it will continue to get much worse!

Obama was reminded that many around the world blame the United States and even Britain for this crisis and I agree. Obama artful waltzed around this one saying some are to blame but all are responsible. At this point assigning blame is not the issue but solving the problem is. I was really pleased when Obama said he came to the G20 to listen not lecture and stated we must lead. The guy is eloquent if nothing else. He has speech down to a fine tuned art! He reassure the world there was a vibrancy to our recovery and that we must fight protectionism!

I must say I disagree with Obama when he said we learned from the thirty's and the Great Depression. If we did we would not have gotten in this position in the first place and up until recently we seem to have done all the wrong things. He was right to say 2009 was going to be difficult. With huge continuing job losses and record losses in home values everything else aside it will get a lot worse and not just in 2009! I loved it when Obama played the morale booster in chief saying do not short change the future because of fears in the present. Live, Spend, and plan for the future! We have convergence, consensus, I see success allying Sarkozy and Merkel. Leaving them behind will only cause future mayhem. I hope they see that! Obama and Brown both said we can not have protectionism while America and all countries are practicing it and they must. Everyone must support their own country to get through this then get back to trading with the world and get back to a successful one world community!

In the midst of all this violent Financial fools day protests are going on outside amidst Obama's saving grace inside. I keep hoping the entire world realizes Obama really aims to unite us and solve our problems. The entire world sees it and is responding positively. I am very pleased. The other day Iran and Russia agreed to help to one degree or the other in Afghanistan. Yesterday China invited President Obama to meet and have talks and Obama agreed for the latter part of 2009.

That is the easy part, enlarging NATO and how to proceed in Afghanistan will be the tough issues! I'm telling you, the summit is today but this is already going great.

* In closing What really amazed me with Obama and Medvedev was an agreement of cooperation in reining in Iran's nuclear ambition which to me Russia has singular control over. They promised to move beyond the cold war mentalities reconstituted by Bush. I got the idea that Obama is willing to see an Iran with nuclear power as long as Russia guarantees it is of a peaceful nature. I am really pleased with what I am seeing! I am willing to bet that with Russian help on Iran and Afghanistan Obama will stay the MDS and all will be well for now! I'm telling you, Obama is magic here! Medvedev has even picked up Obama's saying of pressing the Reset Button. I am just so psyched! The future looks better every time Obama opens his mouth. With Bush you cringed even knowing he was going to talk and when he did the future looked consistently worse. .I use to recount what what Moe of the three stooges said to Curly in regard to Bush: Every time you thing you weaken the Nation! With Obama I see rebuilding everything Bush destroyed in America and around the world!

Obama emphasized fiscal responsibility and much needed health care reform to what is now a broken country out of cash on hand but I do believe with 47 million uninsured which is really sick not is the time! Obama I am afraid underestimates it because of Bush's lies and cover ups but he said his administration inherited a $1.3 trillion budget deficit, the largest in history.

I do know for a fact Obama inherited a budgeting process as irresponsible as it is unsustainable. The real cost of the wars was hidden and not even included in the Budget. For years, as Wall Street used accounting tricks to conceal costs and avoid responsibility Washington did, too. The example of corruption and do what you want while taking what you can came right from Bush and trickled through all of Government and our entire infrastructure.

Finally, A president of responsibility an accountability as Obama stated that these kinds of irresponsible and inexcusable budgets and practices are now in the past. For the first time in many years, my administration has produced a budget that represents an honest reckoning of where we are and where we need to go." How can you argue with President Obama?

A sensical reasoned man can not but we are talking Republicans! Representative Roy Blunt delivered the Repuglican response and he could not argue with the lying under handed Budgeting tactics employed by Bush to fight his wars and due to the bad example coming right from the top and trickle down it spread throughout Wall street and is why we are in this mess!So! He ignored that and focused his stupidity on Health care!

Blunt lost his thinking and reasoning when he said he agreed with President Obama that if you like your current health insurance plan, you should be allowed to keep it. Okay? Then he went on to say he was concerned that if the government steps in it will eventually push out the private health care plans millions of Americans enjoy today. This could cause your employer to simply stop offering coverage, hoping the government will pick up the slack.

I don't gather that and I wish the party games would stop. Republicans should at least make believe believably that they care about average Americans and what is right for them and not the Republican party! This is Obama we are talking about not Bush. I do not believe he is stupid! I like the idea of keeping your company and current insurance if you are happy with it. I believe we already have a law requiring employers with 10 or more employees to supply insurance. At least we do here in Massachusetts and it can be instituted around the country!

I do not like Romney and he had that still imperfect system set up here in Massachusetts with the intention of implementing it around the country if elected. But then it would have been alright because it would have been a Republican plan! I heard a debate on CNN about the Canadian plan and the Republican was talking about the long lines and how inefficient the system was and many people were unhappy with it, Rick Sanchez happened to have a nurse originally from New York with first hand knowledge of the inequities of the system there between the haves and the have nots. She was currently a nurse in Canada for 10 years. She said the system was wonderful and everyone got equal treatment and there were no long lines. Of course the Republican got mad and said he would have gotten people to support his stand if he knew Sanchez was going to do that.

That isn't the idea! I am sick of the standard Political games! The right thing has got to start to be done not for the party but for the people and Obama is the one to do it! I am sick of hearing the BS that Republicans are committed to common-sense solutions that promote competition and innovation." WTF? If that was true what the hell have they been waiting for? This grand old party of concern and innovation is staying true to their colors!

Obama is right! It is about time we have a President with more than half a brain and wants to do the right thing for the country not himself. I have said too many times that any idiot can look good when things are going good but you do not know what you have for a leader until times are bad. Well times are bad and we are seeing that we have the right man at the right time!

CNN spoke to world affairs expert and author Fareed Zakaria about the Obama victory. CNN: Was this a transformative election? Zakaria: Many people have been discussing it from a racial perspective and although that is true, I think it is larger than that.
I think President-elect Obama has the chance to realign the political landscape and to create a governing ideology for the West. CNN: Doesn't that seem like a grand ambition? Zakaria: It is not only ambition, but a result of the times. Conservatives have dominated Western politics for the last three decades because they proposed solutions to the problems of the 1970s -- slow growth, social unrest, and Soviet adventurism. I woke up this morning to the radio and the usual array of lies, allegations, and corruption. I was going through comments made during the course of the night and saved a couple for future reference. one in particular seems to have come from our friend Larry on Bush's record setting low approval rating. I went through all the news on CNN and FOX then Google and did not find anything that I felt had to be discussed and the truth spoken. Then in dawned on me. This is the first day in my memory since Bush took office certainly in the last couple years that Bush was not the talk of the MSM. Not a story, nothing!

Then it hit me! The complicit MSM has failed to even mention that Bush is the worst President in the History of the country! What is worse is that the over inflated ass could care less because in his little mind he is the Greatest! Complicit Congress gives in to Bush as will the Complicit Senate as all fail to see the reality of the facade of concern while the true fix is ignored

I will never underestimate the lying underhanded tactics of the Republicans to keep their corrupt hands in Power! He said: The Democrats have won. Big government is back.And it all happened today. hasn't it gotten bigger, less efficient, and more corrupt? He said: Because today republicans caved. Just like lately it seems they've always caved on spending programs that do little. And tax incentives that do even less. I do happen to agree that the tax incentives are worthless but that comes from his worthless Boss and the Complicit Congress!

I don't friggen get it! They've always been an embarrassment. Anyway he says: So in an election year where they could distinguish themselves, they have humiliated themselves. Actually trying to out-spend Democrats on stimulus they know will be brief, and have no problem being brief. They didn't out do themselves as usual they cut the poor short and gave to businesses. he said: Think about that.All those who have signed onto this $150 billion stimulus package know that it's a one-shot deal, a government-sponsored quick pick-me-up. They know the history on these things. no kidding I say no kidding! Remember who the Decider is!

My God, I can't believe he doesn't realize everything is going as planned. Saying the right thing is merely to cover the real agenda of total control over average American's. True Conservatives have lost control don't worry conservativism, like Democracy and Religion are mere tools to be perverted as Bush's hidden agenda is followed. Sources on Capitol Hill and at the Treasury Department said the plan would send checks of $600 to individuals and $1,200 to couples who paid income tax and who filed jointly. People who did not pay federal income taxes but who had earned income of more than $3,000 would get checks of $300 per individual or $600 per couple. Those who earn up to $75,000 individually or up to $150,000 as a couple will be eligible for the payments, said Republican and Democratic sources familiar with the tentative deal. The agreement includes a robust package of business incentives and help for homeowners facing possible mortgage foreclosures. * Knowing that $600.00 will buy less than a months heat for our houses in the Northeast I would say this so called bail out will help the Businesses and Bush who will once again have the facade of concern for average Americans and doing the right thing, wrong! In the long run it will be worthless for our economy but with the $150 to $250 Bullion being borrowed from China it will benefit them ten fold. Not only do we have to borrow the money from them but most they make most of the products we buy so they will beginning to end be the prime benefactors thanks to Bush's wars and mismanagement!

* From the House the Bill goes to the Senate where I have heard the right thing voiced but Bush is happy with the package so you can bet he will push this through and if Deocrats look to help Average Americans or otherwise impede the little slime he will put a puclic outcry out to the people there by holding them Hostage to his demands once again. The Senate just caved in again as A White House plan to broaden the National Security Agency’s wiretapping powers won a key procedural victory in the Senate on Thursday, as backers defeated a more restrictive plan by Senate Democrats that would have imposed more court oversight on government spying. The vote moves the Bush administration a step closer toward the twin goals it has pursued for months: strengthening the N.S.A.’s ability to eavesdrop without court approval, while securing legal immunity for the phone companies that have helped the agency in its wiretapping operations. * They will cave in to his demands on this so called incentive plan to help middle class American's and strengthen our economy. Meanwhile as I keep trying to highlight, what would really strengthen America and our crumbling infrastructure will again be ignored until another crisis occurs. We know from recent past experience that the people will be placated and nothing will be done. Remember the Bridge disaster in Minneapolis. Nothing has come from Bush's promises as expected and the State is still working on what to do it themselves. Knowing that Maintenance on highways, bridges, dams, and water treatment systems is a convenient place to cut corners when politicians need to appear tough on spending, since the results of routine upkeep are not flashy. But perpetual underfunding and deferred maintenance accelerates structural decay and contributes to disasters, as in the cases of the New Orleans levees or Minneapolis bridge. It’s time to make planes, trains, and automobiles safe again and restore the jewels of American ingenuity and engineering.

It’s not just bridges. The 50-year-old interstate highway system is decaying and in need of modernization, too. Funding levels aren’t even adequate for basic maintenance. And it’s not just bridges and roads. Infrastructure of all types faces neglect and funding shortfalls. Tunnels, Dams, everything is failing and Bush wants to ignore it while giving the wealthy back more taxes? If he cared about Average American's and our America not his, he would do just what I suggest. How can he be this openly ignorant?

** With yesterdays rate cut of of 3/4 of a point that was called unprecedented and significant along with proposed tax incentives and indications from the Fed that there is more help coming if needed I have to say that there will have to be more help to come because this will get a lot worse. With that said there is any easy answer to this that will of course be ignored but would kill at least 2 or 3 birds with one stone. *There is an easy long term 2 part fix to this if helping average American's and our America was Bush's goal.

1. It seems to me that like everything else Bush does his plan is counterproductive. As usual he wants to help those that do not need it and ignore those that do in his creation of a new societal order! This will be a big fight and Bush will cry again until he gets his way. I say give a rebate to the 44 million households who would put it right back into the economy and under Bush's plan would get nothing. I do hear a move in this direction but we will see. Anyway The wealthy will just save it as they do not need it to survive which is purposely getting harder for average Americans under Bush.

2. Put average Americans back to work in meaningful constructive jobs that would rebuild our America and her failing infrastructure. The Interstate Highway System turned 50 last year, but the government neglected to give the system a much-needed birthday present. The government at all levels consistently underfunds infrastructure projects, from dams, bridges, and highways to aviation, railroads, and water systems. The tragic collapse of the I-35 bridge in Minneapolis was a wake up call to pay attention to our decaying infrastructure. But really, this bridge is the third wake up call for the United States to reevaluate how we treat critical infrastructure. The first was 9/11, which showed us that infrastructure is vulnerable to terrorism. Hurricane Katrina was a second wake up call, which showed us that infrastructure is vulnerable to natural disasters. This time, we know that infrastructure is vulnerable to use, age, and neglect. along with growing corruption as proven by Boston's Big Dig Boondoggle and we see examples of daily.

** I am sick of Bush mismanagement and Democratic complicity! We have been failed by our State and Federal Officials on every level and a rate cut or tax refund is not going to get us out of this still developing problem. We are helping the Chinese not us! We the people must actively get involved and be an active part of the solution. The corruption also must be stopped and we have got to be able to hold all parties including the Government accountable for criminal negligence and corruption!
