Is Al Qaeda really going down? Can anyone really think it matters or we are winning this so called war on terror? Yemen: U.S. Strike Kills Local Al Qaeda Media Chief: A U.S. airstrike has killed the media chief for Al Qaeda's Yemeni branch along with six other militants including Al-Awlaki's son, Yemen's government and security officials said Saturday, in the second high-profile American missile attack in as many weeks to target the terror group.

The strike, which follows the killing of prominent U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in a similar American missile attack late last month, points to Washington's growing use of drones to hit al Qaeda militants in Yemen. The targeted attacks appear to be part of a determined effort to stamp out the threat from the group, known as al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which U.S. officials have said is the terror network's most active and most dangerous branch. The slain media chief, identified as Egyptian-born Ibrahim al-Bana, was killed along with six other militants in the southeastern province of Shabwa on Friday night.

Personally I am sick of hearing how we are killing Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders and weakening the so called war on terror. First this is not a war on terror and we are winning nothing it is just beginning.

Like it or not this is a war against the majority of Islam. It is a Religious war and that is only part of it around the world! I am sick of hearing world leaders come out after an attack on our interests saying they strongly condemn the actions of the so called terrorists! So what! That is absolutely worthless! Now we are in Uganda and a few other African countries supposedly only with advisers. Hell that is the way we started in Vietnam. What the hell is wrong with us? What is next? WTF? 

From the beginning the so called terrorists said they wanted us off their lands which will never happen so what does Bush do he attacks them and rubs salt in the wound. We have our work cut out for us and will have to fight and it will be much longer than anyone can imagine. I said years ago that as we know Religious wars are the longest and the dirtiest and this will be the worst and at a point in time when our Planet is at a point in its life cycle where it may not survive and be life sustaining as we need it to survive as we know it!

Anyway you look at it this so called terrorism fiasco is just beginning and will be fought for many generations. I am of the frame of mind that these people will only get better and more desperate over time. They are learning from us every day and we better start learning from them. Do not trust in your leaders keep an eye peeled! The war on terrorism is will not go away and will have to be fought to win regardless of how long, period.

Any way you look at it the world realizes the war on drugs is lost and the war on drugs has been a war of choice. The world says drug war lost end it so the US increases drug war spending. Duh!

In closing on this subject I want to say something different for me. When I think of the war on drugs I think illegal drugs but at the link above I learned something I never gave a thought and that is that over 50,000 Americans are killed a year from prescription drugs. That is a growing problem and where we should be concentrating our efforts.

Bush's Forever war is barely beginning!

                            JMJ 1st 2nd and 3rd, 4th?

I know many think I am crazy as the truth is and must be laughed at if you are to survive it but my sons know this is barely beginning.

I have told them and said for years this will dwarf the hundred years war. Remember someone at least in our minds that don't matter have to be able to live here when they are done.

End of days seems to be the goal! I remember right wing idiots under Bush saying it was his goal and they are ready was I.

I was talking to my EOD son Jim yesterday, he lost 17 friends and many have what he calls bouncy legs. He is trying to train one up now who has severe PTSD and one leg left and they had to cut off the better of the two.

He is happy that now that EOD is considered special forces he can PT the hell out of the kids and many are dropping out unable to take it. Better than having them die from inadequate training as many are.

One of his buddies that is also a battle hardened crazy lost more than a dozen friends and vehicles around him and a couple limbs along with the stress of losing many friends he tried to save.

They were PTing the kids when his leg flew off and they laughed themselves silly before a couple kids panicked and started crying before dropping out. It is a horror comedy still in the making.

You have to laugh, some can step out but they too are along for the ride like it or not. Anyway all my sons know to them this is just starting and it is job security.

I figure like it or not Yemen or Somalia "the Gulf of Aden" is next Jim believes it is Iran who they think they will take on from 5 or 6 carrier battle groups in the Gulf. Jim just says "whatever" I would rather be back in combat with a 70 pound pack on my back than 3 kids.

To that I say WTF? Did you ever read the 70s science fiction story "the forever war"? get it if you can. That is becoming reality like all the rest of the horror we used to fantasize about.

Hold on, I use to worry about these kids stepping up when called on but step up they have and now it is I that am worried not them and the world with his war mongering.

This is the reality Bush has created for them. That is why I would like to slap him and cringe when I hear him brag and many calling him a great President.

Now A local newspaper claims the man is "talking and wants to live", indicating he has perhaps struck a deal with his captors. But Geddes said the group were very well trained and the information could not necessarily be relied on. Republicans take Bush to the Woodshed, Bush will accept Benchmarks on Iraq but not himself!

There is no news here so I will not supply links unless someone asks because they have not seen the old news. The story here as always is in the interpretation and I am posting this early for me because I hope to have a long discussion on the subject.
As of the last few days we have heard that Bush has lost his main ally in his push for an illegal war in Iraq. Tony Blair as you know announced his resignation Thursday in a poignant — almost apologetic — speech to the nation, thanking his compatriots for his successes during more than a decade as prime minister, and seeking understanding for leading Britain into an unpopular war in Iraq. I expect Gordon Brown to replace Blair and he will not give Bush the blind support he has enjoyed to the demise of Blair.
At the same time Republicans have finally taken Bush to the woodshed on his mispolicies concerning Iraq and has agreed to Benchmarks for Iraqi progress.
The president's remarks came day after reports that 11 moderate Republican members of Congress held a blunt meeting with Bush in the White House to express growing concern over the war and to warn that his political support was eroding.
In his comments to reporters on Thursday, Bush quickly dismissed the idea, backed by many House Democrats, of a funding bill that would dispense resources in two stages. Congress would subject release of the second stage to another vote. I and other concerned Democrats see the vehicle as a means to put pressure on Bush over his management of the war and to press for him to begin withdrawing troops.
Bush of course threatens a veto again saying it is wrong to play politics with this and hamstring our troops as he has done and is doing. I cannot believe the obvious idiocy of this guys ststements are just listened to and we have not been able to successfully take him to task. This has all been taking place as Cheney is in Iraq misinforming the troops once again. He is stupidly lying to our troops again. Cheney framed the troops’ efforts as part of the fight against global terrorism and made no promise that an end was in sight.
"We’re fighting a war against terror," the vice president said, according to the prepared text of his remarks. "We are here, above all, because the terrorists who have declared war on America and other free nations have made Iraq the central front in that war." What happened to what he stupidly said last time that the insurgency was in its deathythroes?
Like you I am sick of hearing the lie that we are in Iraq fighting terrorists who have declare war on us. There were no terrorists in Iraq in Saddam's day as you know. Bush has brought them there to fight supposedly so we do not have to fight them here.
However Bush has diverted from Afghanistan to attack Iraq and begin what he wrongly thinks will be his idea of a new middle east order. Bush is now willing to accept Benchmarks on Iraq such as the Iraqis passing a new oil-sharing bill, updating the Iraqi constitution, and holding provincial elections but no Benchmarks on Bush in his endeavor to stay in the middle of his created hell and civil wart in Iraq.
He will accept these benchmarks as he said, as he moves forward in Iraq. That means he will stay the course until he is able to find an excuse to atack Iran as was only part of his original plan for his new midle east order. this will all end in total chaos but can't we all see that this is what Bush is doing?
