Rocket attack another attempt to drag Israel into Lebanon- Syria crisis

Analysis: Rocket attack an attempt to drag Israel into Lebanon- Syria crisis: b Two rockets fired from Lebanon landed close to the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona early Sunday morning, causing no injuries. The incident is the first of its kind since four rockets were fired from Lebanon in August, however this time the attack took place further east and closer to Syria along the Israel-Lebanon border.
Israel responded to the attack immediately by shelling the area from which the attack originated. No group has officially taken responsibility for the attack. However, analysts here believe that whoever carried out the attack, they tried to involve Israel in the ongoing crisis in Syria, where the Hezbollah, with whom Israel has fought a number of wars, is currently fighting alongside the Syrian government against the Sunni Islamic rebels.

Israel's war mongering is bearing fruit! Besides going after Iran another original goal of Bush's attack on Iraq was to get in the middle east to help Israel establish a buffer zone from increasing violence. As is always the case it has had the opposite affect.

Syrian rebels seize Golan Heights base, gaining ground on Israel?

Israel may send ground forces into Gaza over missile strikes as middle east breakdown progresses

This will not just "pass"

There is another war coming: In attacking Iraq Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.

The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!

You know I firmly believe and have said so a million times by now that since 9/11 everything was construed to allow Bush to gain the power he needed to prosecute his new order not just in the Middle East but on the entire world! He diverted from Afghanistan to get back into the Middle East with the goal of setting up a larger safety zone for Israel and going after Iran. Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran!

Israel lied to get nuclear weapons and will do anything to keep Iran from doing the same and challenging them. Remember Mordechai Vanunu whistle blower of Israel's clandestine nuclear program? Uzi Eilam former head of Israel's Atomic Energy Commission said Mordechai Vanunu did Israel a favor after revealing information about an illegal nuclear program at Israel's Dimona reactor. His information proved that Israel had broken the 1968 treaty on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. There is a US law that prohibits the support of countries that break the treaty in question.

I must admit Israel's hypocrisy and lies are a plan I have discussed often and I have to disagree with Eliam's final assertion. He says an attack on Iran's nuclear program would be counter productive. I beg to differ! The General hit the nail on the head though and does not know it. I have long asserted that Israel would attack Iran's nuclear interests and we would come to her rescue.

That is a fact that is why I find his final statement troubling and prophetic. He correctly said One strike is not practical. In order to delay the Iranian program for three to four years one needs an armada of aircraft, which only a super-power can provide. Only America can do it. Bingo! You know from numerous discussions here that Iran is involved in every Middle Eastern country not just Yemen, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia where they have corrupted elections for Shiite interests in Iraq, backing rebels in Yemen, and instigating attacks on Saudi oil fields. Bush freed Iran to instigate far and wide and they are.

Israel is not going to back down. The US is Israel's lap dog and when all is said and done they know the US will be there for them. I am sure the US plans to come to Israel's rescue and do it largely from the Gulf with numerous carrier fighter groups. When are we going to realize this entire mess I call a forever war is just beginning and this is our future. A future of war for us and profiteering for the elite. Israel will have their larger war.

Turkey and Syria are now hostile countries while Syria undergoing evisceration: Turkey scrambles 6 fighter Jets

In Depth:Gunmen 'kill three' at Syrian pro-Assad Ikhbariya TV: State TV showed pictures of burnt and wrecked buildings, with fires still smouldering. Syria's information minister, on a visit to the site, said the three victims had been abducted, bound, and killed in cold blood. On Monday, the station was targeted by EU sanctions. The attack comes after fierce clashes in suburbs of the capital Damascus described by opposition activists as the worst there so far. Dozens of people were killed.

Syrian Insurgents Strike a Nerve with Attack: The assault in Damascus on the Republican Guard base began on Monday night and was intended as only a probing attack, according to a lieutenant of the Free Syrian Army whose unit carried it out and who was interviewed by Skype. “It was not a big confrontation, it was just to test the Guards’ capacity, for future attacks,” said the lieutenant, who for security reasons asked to be identified only by his rank. “Our fighters were really surprised by the huge forces that immediately came and encircled the area.”

In an apparently unrelated development, a Syrian Air Force lieutenant general was kidnapped by armed men from his home in Damascus, according to Syrian State Television, who identified him as Lt. Gen. Farage Shihada al-Maqat. He was abducted in the Adawi neighborhood of Damascus, an exclusive area where dignitaries and Russian advisers live. If the report is true, General Maqat would be the highest-ranking officer to be kidnapped or killed since the uprising began. More than 13 generals are among a wave of high-ranking officers who have defected to the opposition recently.

Turkey and Syria are now hostile countries: Turkey will now become all the more generous towards the Syrian rebels. While up until now Turkey was “officially denying” hardware assistance to the rebels, we will probably start seeing a far more free-handed Ankara. If somehow Syrian helicopters or planes violate Turkish airspace (four violations were reported only in June), they will be considered “hostile intrusions” and treated as such.

Yes, there was almost nothing new in what Erdoğan said from the recent statements of Davutoğlu. However, the prime minster made a distinct declaration: Turkey’s relations with Syria are no longer just troubled; Turkey and the Syria of Bashar al-Assad are now hostile countries. Another important statement of the prime minister well-reflected his “democratic” mindset.

Turkey scrambled six F-16 fighter jets in three separate incidents responding to Syrian military helicopters approaching the border on Sunday, its armed forces command said on Monday. It was the second time in as many days Turkish jets were launched in response to Syrian helicopters flying near the border and comes after a Turkish reconnaissance plane was shot down by Syria late last month.

Turkey has beefed up its troop presence and air defenses along the border since the incident and Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said the military's rules of engagement had been changed and that any Syrian element approaching Turkey's border and deemed a threat would be treated as a military target.

As Syrian opposition groups gather in Turkey and continue to unify, a Syrian Helicopter Pilot Defected and Escaped to Turkey. Also a senior intel officer was assassinated and Turkey a neighbor and once close ally closed its embassy and joined the United States sending non lethal aid to the opposition.

Almost 40 Syrian soldiers - including a general and two colonels - have defected to Turkey, according to Turkish state television. Reports said that the general, two colonels, two majors, one lieutenant and 33 soldiers had arrived in Turkey but did not give any more details.

Another channel, CNN Turk, also reported the defections, adding that they had arrived with members of their families, making a total of 224 individuals. The reported defections come a day before an emergency NATO meeting to discuss the shooting down of a Turkish warplane by Syrian forces. Before that a Syrian Colonel defected to Turkey with his Russian Mig 21 fighter jet, that is why I figure Syria shot down Turkey's plane.

At this point the UN has condemned Syria for what that is worth and Turkey has said they would not go to war over recent events but she is sure appearing to be instigating it right now. Russia and China are not going to allow themselves to be kicked out of Syria as would be the case if the opposition gained power.

Likewise, there is also no way Iran is going to let her ally and guard 'Syria" fall to the opposition or more pointedly Democracy and US and Western influence. Nor are they going to sit still while Turkey gets involved which is what I have to say Syria has been counting on.

Syria seems to be baiting Turkey knowing NATO will step up because Syria knows in turn so will Russia China and Iran. I do not like what I see! Syria is China and Russia's last real foot hold in the middle east they and Iran are not going to give this up easily. This is going to take a hell of a long and deadly fight. I fully expect Russia and China to be drawn into this and then the entire middle east will take sides. I hope we can avert WW3 but I would not bet on it!

Turkey vows to retaliate, sends military convoy to Syrian border drawing defiance from Assad

Turkey vows to retaliate 'with determination' after jet shooting, sends military convoy to Syrian border, Threatens Force if Syrian Troops Near Border

Turkey vows to retaliate 'with determination' after jet shooting I hate to say it but it will open between Turkey and Syria probably purposely then Iran will get in and to one degree or the other Russia and China, I do not believe we are smart enough to keep out of it either.

Turkey threatens military retaliation along Syria border, drawing defiance from Assad

Turkey sends military convoy to Syrian border: Turkey has deployed a large number of military vehicles to the Syrian border, daily Milliyet reported. While NATO meeting on Tuesday netted some strong words, the Secretary General of NATO made it clear that chapter 5, the part of the treaty with teeth, was never mentioned. This means that without another incident, there is currently zero chance of NATO action against Syria.

Interestingly, however, Turkey seems to be taking no chances. According to Turkish media, the military is sending a convoy of troops to the border: The shipment included 15 armored tanks, in addition to long-distance guns and other military vehicles. The convoy was heavily guarded as it moved toward the border in the event of an attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) members.

Turkey Threatens Force if Syrian Troops Near Border: Buoyed by support from NATO allies, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday threatened a Turkish military response to any perceived threat from Syria along the troubled border following the disputed downing of a Turkish warplane. The Turkish leader's bellicose tone signaled no discernible easing of tensions between the two Mediterranean neighbors as ambassadors from the NATO alliance, desperate to avoid a wider conflict, held emergency talks in Brussels.

In a unanimous statement, the NATO allies called the episode "another example of the Syrian authorities’ disregard for international norms, peace and security, and human life." “I would certainly expect that such an incident won’t happen again,” Mr. Rasmussen said at a news conference at alliance headquarters in Brussels. He added that NATO would closely follow developments and “if necessary, consult and discuss what else could be done.”

With large scale exercises in the Gulf between Israel and the US against Iran's IRG we have impending war

Israel and US to Stage Major Defense Drill: The Israeli military is gearing up together with U.S. forces for a major missile defense exercise, the Israeli military announced Thursday, as tension between Iran and the international community escalates.
The drill is called "Austere Challenge 12" and is designed to improve defense systems and cooperation between the U.S. and Israeli forces. It follows a 10-day Iranian naval exercise near the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Both Israeli and U.S. officials said the exercise would be the largest-ever joint drill by the two countries.

Iran plans new maneuvers in Hormuz Strait in February: Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, naval commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, said the exercises in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz in February would be different from previous exercises, but gave no further details, according to remarks reported by the semi-official Fars news agency. "Today the Islamic Republic of Iran has full domination over the region and controls all movements within it," he said.

Helping Israel is the reason Bush attacked Iraq in order to unseat Saddam Hussein. In doing so he freed up Iran to instigate for her supremacy and version of new middle east "dis"order. The idea was to first help create a buffer zone of Israel friendly countries and then find a way to get into a war with Iran.If you think back and remember the numerous Border incidents on the Iraq Iran border and the incidents in the gulf between the IRG and the United States and Britain all failing to find a way to instigate the desired war.

Remember we just discussed again yesterday that Saudi Arabia has opened her air space to us so Iran could be attacked. Also we just okayed another shipment of advanced fighter jets. Also not just Israel, we have armed offensively and defensively every single middle east ally to the teeth.

Israel's war mongering is bearing fruit as the middle east is closing in on them

Egypt declares state of alert after angry crowds storm embassy in Cairo , evacuates ambassador to Egypt after embassy attack. The incident was the second major eruption of violence at the embassy since five Egyptian border guards were killed last month during an Israeli operation against gunmen. That incident prompted Egypt briefly to threaten to withdraw its envoy. Israel is already embroiled in a diplomatic feud with Turkey, formerly one of its closest allies, over Israel's armed assault on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in which nine people were killed. Israel's war mongering is bearing fruit!

Besides going after Iran another original goal of Bush's attack on Iraq was to get in the middle east to help Israel establish a buffer zone from increasing violence. As is always the case it has had the opposite affect.

Turkey's Erdogan heads to Egypt, unnerving an embattled Israel: Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan's North Africa tour comes at a critical time for Israel, whose diplomats were forced to flee Cairo this weekend after protesters attacked the Israeli embassy. Turkey is emerging as the center of growing regional opposition to Israel at a critical time. Turkey's leadership aad increasing influence, wielded on pliable new governments that have sprung up in the wake of Arab uprisings, could deepen Israel's isolation and pose serious security threats to the Jewish state. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has become an increasingly vocal critic of Israel since the 2009 Gaza war, embarked today on a trip to Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia.

His regional tour comes as Israel's ties with both Turkey and Egypt have reached lows not seen in decades. Turkey, a major trade partner, recently cut ties after a diplomatic row over the 2010 Gaza flotilla, in which eight Turks and one Turkish-American were killed when Israeli commandos raided a boat seeking to break Israel's blockade of the Hamas-run territory.

Increased security around Israeli embassy in Jordan reported: The increased security comes amid the establishment over the weekend of a Facebook page calling for Jordanians to attend a "million-man protest" in front of the Israeli embassy in Amman on Sept. 15, The Israel Project and Yediot Acharonot reported.

Iran parliament voices support for attack on Israeli embassy in Cairo: Ismaeil Kowsari, foreign policy committee spokesman, said the members of parliament had voiced full support for "the ransacking" of the embassy by Egyptian Muslims, news network Press TV reported. Following the 1979 Islamic revolution, Iran declared Israel its political arch-foe and does not recognize its sovereignty. Ahmadinejad has even called for the elimination of the Jewish state from the Middle East and suggested it be relocated to Europe or North America.

The United States is mounting a diplomatic effort to prevent further deterioration in relations between U.S. allies Turkey and Israel. Turkey warns it would use force in the future to protect aid ships from Turkey trying to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza. The Obama administration has been seeking for some time ease Israeli-Turkish tensions but it is stepping up the effort, amid Turkish comments suggesting the political conflict could escalate into a military clash.

Relations between Turkey and Israel, once strategic allies, have gone downhill since May of last year when Israeli commandos boarded a Turkish ship trying to deliver relief supplies to Hamas-controlled Gaza. Thursday in Ankara, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkish warships would escort future aid boats leaving Turkey for Gaza, raising at least the potential of a military face-off with Israel. An Israeli spokesman described the Turkish comments as grave and serious but said Israel will not engage in saber-rattling and hopes the episode will pass.
This will not just "pass"

There is another war coming: In attacking Iraq Bush freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. Libya rebels take diplomatic push to Turkey, Russia, the noose continues to tighten

France, NATO to deploy helicopters in Libya: source The French source said the move could not be considered as part of a strategy to use ground troops in the conflict. NATO also says shelling Libya's military assets from their naval ships is also a possibility so I have to wonder when boots on the ground will be necessary and whose they will be. We are getting reeled in and I do not like this!

Daily life begins to return to MISRATA: Less than two weeks after wresting itself free from a brutal siege and pushing Moammar Gadhafi's forces out of rocket range, the rebel-held city of Misrata is taking its first steps toward normalcy. The city, the only major urban center in western Libya under rebel control, was ...

NATO bombs Libya; rebels seek EU funding Glad to see this is going the way of the rebels and wonder what Libya and the region will look like without Gaddafi? That said it sickens me that we have frozen multiple $Billions of Gaddafi's assets and the rebels have been selling oil so I refuse to believe they are looking for funding. Stupid us will give it to them to. At the very least they should be given Gaddafi's Billions and should be paying us for the personnel and materials used in our efforts to help them acquire their freedom.

Libya rebels take diplomatic push to Turkey, Russia: Earlier this month Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged Moamer Kadhafi to "immediately" cede power and leave Libya. In Moscow, a rebel representative was due to hold talks with Foreign Minister Minister Sergei Lavrov a week after the top Russia diplomat met emissaries of Kadhafi.

We are beginning to recognize the rebel Government more and more and more of the world are coming forward and speaking up against Gaddafi., that I am afraid means we are in this for the long haul and will have to come to the rescue if this goes south instead of leaving the rebels to their own demise. I am very concerned because this is not just Libya, this is all the tribes in the region many of who are right now recieving $1000 a day to fight for Gaddafi. I am convinced the end of Gaddafi is just the beginning of this mess.

I am afraid this is just beginning unless we can kill them all and we can't so WTF are we doing there? We can't go in Osama style with seal team 6. Our only option is to get the hell out of there and supply the rebels with arms food money and medicine unless Gaddafi tries to mine the sea ports again. I said it when we first got involved in Libya but this whole thing just blows me away. Then there is Syria, Iran, and the rest of the middle east and Africa.

I said from the beginning in Libya that if we are serious we had to go directly after Tripoli and Gaddafi's extensive military assets there. We are finally doing that. If there was a way to totally neutralize Gaddafi's heavy weapons and defenses those rebels may stand a chance. Still, remembering Gaddafi's original statement that many thousands will be killed I am afraid he is getting closer to using his cyanide, mustard gas and vast reserves of chemical weapons.

Gaddafi already issued gas masks to those doing his murdering for him. What choice will we have but to drop a MOAB (mother of all bombs) or a 30,000 pound bunker buster in the middle of his compound designed to dig 7 or 8 stories underground before detonating and take as many of them out as we can. They are not going to relent period. We can not get any deeper than we are so I am happy to see the rebels making gains but leery with Gaddafi forces encroaching on Tunisia and attempting to widen thus war or whatever you want to call it..
