Daughter of former Iranian president Rafsanjani jailed, son returns from exile to face incitement charges

 Daughter of former Iranian president jailed The jailing of Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's daughter was announced Sunday morning in a statement published by the prosecutor's office in Tehran: "Faezeh Hashemi was arrested Saturday to serve her sentence," it stated. The Fars news agency reported she was detained in Evin Prison in Tehran. 

 Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani was among the thousands of protesters arrested during the protests that erupted after the announcement of the election results in 2009. Authorities had earlier released the daughter of the former president, but she was sentenced in late 2011 for six months in prison for "propaganda against the regime". Her sentence had hitherto not been applied. A son of Rafsanjani, Mehdi Hashemi, also referred to a judicial proceeding, left Iran three years ago and lives in London.

Karroubi dares Tehran to try him, the opposition leader, who is currently under house arrest, says people should get to know the truth. I agree and the whole world should call for a trial!

You know, I have long said that Iran’s civilian nuclear program is a cover for their nuclear weapons program. They have been working at this for over 60 years nobody can seriously think anything can stop them without direct confrontation after they have gone this far. That would mean war whether it's Russia, the US or China. All we can hope for is that it is kept limited and not allowed to develop into WW3.

Top Iranian Opposition Leader Mousavi Challenges Supreme Leader after being outlawed!

IRG Ahmadinejad, the stolen election, the killing and imprisonment of the children of the Revolution, the violent crushing of all opposition, the clandestine nuclear program, It is all making sense! My hat is off to Mousavi but I do not know about the wisdom of challenging the so called Supreme leader. Especially after he outlawed you! What's next?

Mir Hossein Mousavi is challenging the government once again calling for an anti-government rally to prove the strength of his opposition Green Movement. He is telling his followers to put up or shut up as well as laying down the gauntlet. The call comes just days after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Mousavi and other opposition leaders that they were now excluded from the regime.

Mousavi's challenge to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to allow opposition forces to demonstrate is a clear act of defiance. It follows the Ayatollah's harsh words to the Assembly of Experts pronouncing opposition leaders officially outside the regime. Outlaws!

The mere appearance of Mousavi's words on his website is a show of strength against the government which has systematically muzzled the opposition press, imprisoned journalists, and waged a noisy propaganda campaign to drown out all other voices. Despite the increasingly heavy handed regime and threats to his life he calls them and his followers out.

Mousavi's decision to throw down the gauntlet against the supreme leader quickly drew the applause of many supporters on his Facebook website as well as many enthusiastic comments on a myriad of other opposition sites. This is ramping up!

Former Iranian President Abolhasan Bani Sadr who lives in exile in Paris called Mousavi's statement a clear break with the regime. He calls Mousavi's statement a direct act of defiance to Khamenei, along with Karroubi's challenge several days ago to hold a referendum. He argues that Mousavi is challenging Ayatollah Khamenei by warning the Ayatollah not to silence him or to kill him, because he will go on defying him.

The IRGC is in control of furthering Shiite demands around the Middle East! You know by no what they are doing in Yemen, Iraq, and everywhere they can in the Middle East. I now believe Khamenei is the power behind the crackdown but he is knowingly or unknowingly enforcing a lie! Iran will not give up her nuclear weapons designs and will never give up power or efforts to dominate the Middle East. Ahmadinejad and the IRGC are the driving force and will not relent. Increasing sanctions will only work to defeat all the opposition has done.

They fear a nuclear arms race and I can only conclude that knowing how far along Iran is and how they feel, that they are hedging their bets and an arms race is already under way clandestinely. The only question is when will it become an overt arms race and just how big the Middle East explosion I have been predicting since Bush attacked Iraq will be?

We have been saying since the stolen election that neither side is going to back down and this is only going to end in one way and that is open armed violence on both sides. The only way to avoid it is for Mousavi to back down and I do not see that as a possibility. There is no way the current regime is going to let their drive for nuclear weapons and their version of a new middle east order without Israel and with them on top come to an end. What’s next?

Reading the demands from the professors and 5 Iranian intellectuals it sounds an awful lot like Mir Hossein Mousavi's 5 point plan in which he laid out what must be done to make amends for the transgressions against the people: calls for revising the election law to guarantee fair competition, freeing political prisoners, guaranteeing freedom of press and recognizing the right of the people to form political parties and to hold peaceful rallies.

You know the 88 University Professors and the 5 Iranian intellectuals just put themselves in bed with the protesters, Mir Hossein Mousavi, and all the protesters, tried, in jail, or on the street when they urged Ayatollah Khamenei to Halt Government Violence . Those people merely want their true people led Republic back not the IRGC controlled Islamist Republic of Iran.

He wants the judiciary to go after them, arrest them, put them on trial and punish them according to the law. Do you know what that will do to the unrest in Iran? it will blow big time and you have to think that is what Javani wants. Then he will be able to get all this out in the open and have his millions of thugs put this to rest once and for all but I don't like what I see happening.

As we have been discussing, this will continue to ratchet up whenever possible. There has been violence since the stolen election in June. However this as we have been saying is once more being brought to a new level. The opposition is picking its moments carefully and getting bolder. Amidst cries of we will fight we will die we will take our country back they are now fighting and dying but taking their country back I don’t know but I wish them luck! This has gone to another level! Protesters wanted a fair election now they only want regime change.

* In closing: We are seeing a new and hopefully better Iran awakening, better for the Iranian people and better for the world. Iran is perhaps the most important Nation in the Middle East and what is happening there is most important to the world and our future. The mayhem we saw Wednesday after Iran’s effort to shut down and control information was followed by 2 days of Government sanctioned and promoted “pro” Government rallies.

There were threats to execute and assassinate opposition leaders if the Judiciary did not punish them within an allotted week. Isn’t the punishment death anyway? I know both sides profess love and duty to God so I do not understand threats to threats to protesters and leaders that they may be tried for going against God and defying God’s will and I find it very disingenuous!

There were reports that Mousavi and Karroubi had escaped Iran but Karroubi’s son Taghi disputed that lie saying they were both in their homes and that the ones who were killing the children of the Revolution were the ones that, those with Iranian blood on their hands that should escape. Mir Hossein Moussavi’s response was to warn the Government that they could not stop the reform movement by force and he was not afaid to die and be martyred for the good of Iran. They have already proven they will do anything to keep their mis-agenda moving forward. This is coming to an ugly head. 30 Years later in Iran: The tale of two protests! Death to America vs. Death to the Dictator!

We just marked the Iran hostage crisis 30 years later as in Iran the thirty year anniversary of the storming of the US Embassy and the capture of 54 hostages brought the standard death to America crowd burning American flags. Something new is as they have been doing since the stolen elections the protesters took to the streets.

Pro and anti Government forces took to the streets. Some shouting death to America, many in the streets shouting "Obama are you with us" Of course as usual it got violent as pro Government and militia started attacking the protesters firing shots, tear gas, and clubbing. The protesters were fewer in number but they still came out and they will not be quelled but I am really fearing for the lives of Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi.

There is a very in depth breakdown of events at the link above but the Government knew the protesters would take the excuse of the Anti American celebration at the embassy to come out and protest the stolen elections despite since the June stolen election that there has been numerous killed, imprisoned, tortured, and falsely sentenced so the current regime could remain on the fascist agenda.

The Government who in the past I have said numerous times is now controlled by the Revolutionary Guard that was originally set up to protect it., announced to the public that if the protesters came out they would be dealt with harshly and the only chant allowed would be shouts of "Death to America" in the Government sanctioned rallies outside the Embassy outside the Embassy stormed by Iranian students in 1979.

As you may remember 54 Americans were held hostage for 444 days, the Iranian Government of the Shah fell, and Ayatollah Khomeini came to power. Also as you may remember President Carter attempted a rescue of the hostages but it ended in disaster with the collision of helicopters in the desert and the death of some would be rescuers. The hostages were then held for 444 days until they were released after Reagan's election. A fact Republicans love to brag about!

It is ironic that since the stolen election to keep the Fascist Ahmadinejad in control the children of the Revolution have been constantly persecuted and often maimed and killed. I just want to remind you of something once again denied and no longer talked about but you know it is true. That is Ahmadinejad's involvement in the 1979 events at the Embassy when he was a student. As you know, he went on to a career in the IRG and is now President of Iran though illegitimate.

I do remember when tensions erupted between Bush and Ahmadinejad pictures emerged of student Ahmadinejad being involved with the Embassy take over and resulting hostage taking of the 54 Americans and was dismissed as phony. 30 years later amidst dueling protests and shouts of Death to America and Death to Ahmadinejad the Dictator Obama penned a response for Iran's Government in Farsi drawing a line in the sand saying the future was up to them. It sickens me that once again thanks to cell phone footage and commentary from the protests saying Mousavi was kept under house arrest so he could not go to the protests, the protests were brutally suppressed, and in fact Karroubi was over taken by tear gas and had to be carried away to his vehicle. First as I said yesterday I am psyched that Russia has already said they will entertain sanctions on Iran and their nuclear program. We could be important allies to a prosperous future in many instances not just Iran, Afghanistan, and the so called war on terror. There is now a possibility that NATO the US and Russia will work on a joint missile defense system thanks to Obama's smart move to use the Aegis missile system and scrap Bush's worthless missile defense shield. Also they do not contribute to creating an international atmosphere that would foster a fruitful dialogue on issues concerning Iran.

We haven't heard from China but they can't possibly differ from the rest of the world as they too know of the horrors inflicted on the Jews in world war two! The entire West is enraged! Meanwhile as you know Ahmadinejad once again denied the Holocaust and said it is every Iranian's duty to destroy Israel.

* In closing Ahmadinejad will be in New York at the UN assembly next week. As we have seen in the past with Ahmadinejad with a huge stage like the UN we will only hear more inflammatory ignorance and can be rest assured Ahmadinejad will only further isolate Iran from the rest of the world but what is it worth? What is he up to? You can only conclude that Iran will continue the rhetoric and will merely keep stalling to buy more time until they can clandestinely develop or otherwise get their hands on a nuclear weapon to at the very least use it as a bargaining chip against Israel as the US buys more time for Iran by sending them another ultimatum! It blows me away that despite what we heard was millions of Revolutionary guard and fanatical Basij supporters creating brutality and chaos in support of Ahmadinejad it is obvious that the average citizens do not support him or think he is their President. Despite that his lunacy just continues and is getting worse and worse. It has amazed me from the get go that Ahmadinejad has been accusing foreign forces of instigating the violence he instigated by stealing the election.

The fact has been totally ignored that whoever made the people want Democracy they are the ones hitting the streets not foreign agents. The citizens are the ones protesting! I am stunned that Ahmadinejad is now blaming everything on foreign agents. Most ridiculously the abuse and brutality inflicted on prisoners while in jail is being credited to foreign agents. I just can't believe it! I see it done in the US too but if you want to defect criticism as a diversion you create an enemy.

When I was a little kid we use to joke and say the devil made me do it! Wait a minute we are the great Satan aren't we? I refuse to believe Ahmadinejad gets away with this lunacy! The citizens do not even think he was legally elected or there President. The only support he seems to have is from the hard liners, the IRG, and the Basij. As we said before the IRG seems to be running the country not Khamenei!

I am nonplussed that after all the violence and blatant brutality we all watched the IRG and the Basij inflict on protesters thanks to protesters hiding and taking pictures with their cell phones only now Ahmadinejad said he is in possession of evidence that exonerates "revolutionary, military, security and intelligence forces" from any allegations of detainee abuse. If he is in possession of proof of exoneration I want to see it besides he has had plenty of time to manufacture some proof. Isn't it strange that only now he says he has proof? What a coincidence! Meanwhile in a move designed to step up the pressure Ahmadinejad on Friday called for the leaders of the opposition to be prosecuted over Iran's postelection turmoil he created. It was the first time Ahmadinejad has made such a call and brings this one step closer to open confrontation. Ahmadinejad openly sided with hard-line politicians and clerics and commanders of the powerful Revolutionary Guard. who have demanded in recent weeks that opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi and his top allies be arrested.

Ahmadinejad took an even tougher line than his top ally Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who said he saw no evidence that opposition leaders were tools of Iran's foreign enemies which hard-liners have claimed and he is right. The differing stances show there are divisions within Iran's leadership over how far to go or what to do next. To me it proves Ahmadinejad and the Revolutionary Guard are the real ones in charge.

Supposedly Khamenei holds ultimate say in political issues in Iran but I do not think so any more. He absolutely must satisfy hard-liners and the Revolutionary Guard. Ahmadinejad wants opposition leaders prosecuted for it and all other turmoil he created

This is further proof that Ahmadinejad and the IRG are the real ones in charge and only using the Clerics to feign legitimacy. They have all the guns and power but prosecuting Moussavi,Karroubi, and Khatami will result in major escalation of violence. You know that is the end goal!

Amidst this yesterday as is tradition 40 days after Neda Soltan an innocent bystander was shot dead becoming the rallying call for protesters at least 3,000 people braved the brutal oppression to gather at her grave side and celebrate her death along with the others killed. Moussavi and kharoubi even showed up. However Moussavi was not allowed out of the car only his wife. Those who attended were dispersed before being treated to the traditional beatings by the Basiji!

After 7 weeks and a ferocious crackdown this is going underground but it is not going away. It is only getting worse now bringing out solidarity as protesters are now showing up with the opposition leaders. This is occurring amidst increasing infighting amidst hard liners in the leadership. While the brutal crackdown resulted in smaller protests and seemingly violence free.

They are now getting worse as The bodies of several young protesters have been turned over to their families in recent weeks, all showing signs of beatings or other abuse while in custody, according to pro-opposition Web sites, citing accounts from relatives. Among them was the son of a prominent conservative, which has brought a wave of criticism from the camp that generally backs the government.

Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri defied an order to close the prison where the deaths occurder because he refused to cover it up despite Khamenei's order to do so. This is creating a division that will only continue to grow! Iran's first trial of protesters to begin


Just wait until they start putting protesters on trial for being beating and surviving attempts to kill them for speaking the truth! The division is now within and without! Clashes are again getting worse as opposition forces are beginning to come out in greater numbers again. Yesterday because of being beat and being dispersed by tear gas the demonstrations moved to North Tehran despite efforts to disperse them.

While I was watching the violence yesterday I watched one young man being beaten by Basij but despite being weaponless and being clubbed by two of them he did not relent. I am humbled by the tenacity of these people. Despite the brutality and warnings to stay home they keep coming out. They are only more united than ever! as the Government Of Khamenei and Ahmadinejad is increasingly divided. Never before in the 30 years since the 1979 revolution have we seen this!

Before I get into that I just heard that a Canadian Iranian reporter Maziar Bahari who was missing for 9 days "supposedly" just admitted that there is a possibility that reporters instigated some of the riots but credited the Basij for breaking it up. First, this bothers me because I know it is a lie! Last week I was listening to CNN reporter who was called in and told someone wanted to talk to his. A large Burly man told him in the IRG he supposed told him they were told he was writing untrue information and had to leave.

The guy told him he could stay and all would be forgotten if he would write favorable stories about the horror he was seeing. Of course he refused and had to leave immediately. This is preposterous and another lie another set up. We don't know who is doing what there. We do not know what anyone is saying. Remember Saberi? Coming from Iran state TV you know it is a lie. This so called confession was undoubtedly coerced if it is even true. We can not verify it!

The arm twisting and attempts to keep the truth from getting out will never stop as long as Khamenei and Ahmadinejad are in power. The following story illustrates that. I can't say it enough that I am so impressed with what I have been seeing from the Iranian people since the election. I am including the songs in Farsi by Bon Jovi and Joan Baez to show solidarity with the Iranian people!

The other day there was a Government sanctioned rally and Moussavi supporters took the opportunity to show up and display support for Moussavi. Now Moussavi has found the opportunity to speak though Khamenei closed down his newspaper and web site and jailed 25 of his employees.

Moussavi despite being kept under raps came out with his wife Zahra Rahnavard and declared that he considered the new Government to be illegitimate. He said it in a way to show the principles of the 1979 Revolution were betrayed when he called for the release of the children of the Revolution. Mehdi Karroubi, a reformist cleric also declared the Government illegitimate and a betrayal. Karroubi too called for the release of the children of the Revolution. He also vowed to continue his fight. Shortly thereafter the daily newspaper sympathetic to him was shut down.

The Doctor who witnessed a Basiji shoot Neda Soltan from a motorcycle made that public and treated her fled to London before the order was given to arrest him. * In closing i have to say Moussavi and Karroubi are stating exactly why Atatollah Sistani the most powerful Ayatollah in Iran has stayed out of Iran since the 1979 Revolution. He said the Revolution was betrayed and it was. I still look for an active alliance of Sistani, Rafsanjani, and Moussavi as this civil war progresses. That I believe is just what the world needs.
