One God one Religion: The unification of world Religion must happen as they are all one
Moderate Muslims must rein in radical brethren, Religion should unify, not conquer and divide. About time and we must too!
10/3/2010 Moderate Muslims must rein in radical brethren
It's about damn time! Some of us have been discussing this even before 9/11 and most definitely since. We have instead turned this into a war on Religion depending on whose side you are on. Perverted Christianity on one side and perverted Islam on the other with all those millions of peace loving true followers of their perspective Religions caught in the middle.
I know our so called leaders are fond of saying we will fight the extremists wherever they are that means the world is the front in the so called war on terror. We are not winning this so called war on terror it has not even really begun. Our so called leaders and war mongering Republicans are fond of saying that we did nothing to deserve the attack on 9/11 but on the contrary we did everything to deserve it. This has been a long time coming. 1400 years of dissension has come to a head and it will not be quelled easily as you see.
Islam was established by Muhammad in order to give Muslims a formal religion and sense of equality and belonging with the Jews and Christians. It failed and Muslims have never been able to gain equal footing or be willing to accept their role in the worlds society.
The Christian Crusades to take back Jerusalem turned into a blood bath against Muslims. Our nation was born during the enlightenment and industrialization completed a gap between our societies which will never close unless the peace lovers and strict followers of Christianity and Islam reign in the hardliners in both Religion that goes for the so called fundamentalist and others in the now perverted Republican party.
Religion we are told is the savior of societies and the world. However in the past it has been the source of horror to practitioners practicing a different version than the one that felt it was in charge. Today is no different and seemingly getting worse. Religious wars as we know from experience are the longest and the dirtiest.
In the past I have said that the only way this is going to end is if we reign in the extremists. We are actively making at least a token effort to do that but can do much more. Islam however is not doing anything. Osama Bin Laden is solely responsible for all this war death and destruction. He's no frigging hero to Muslims. They should have hunted him down themselves!
Osama's war had nothing to do with the sanctity of Islam being violated though it was for centuries. This has nothing to do with Islam or Jihad. This all boils down to communications and I agree but Islamists are not interested in communicating. They are interested in our destruction. violence is their communication.
Islamists stop bringing shame on Islam. Stop killing your own people. Stop bring death and destruction on them. Bin Laden forsook Mullah Omar who invited him into Afghanistan to give him protection. Bin Laden used Afghanistan for his own personal war against the west, the US, and Israel. This is not Islam , this is not Jihad. Restore Muslim integrity, end this now!
Osama now other Islamists are not going to do that as you know so it is up to law abiding Islam to reign them in, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, all of their extremists reaching out with violence to create death and destruction even to the very people they are supposed to be vindicating. Religion like the rest of the world must remember what they are supposed to be about and accepting difference lies in peace. There will be no future unless they all do!
The ultimate destiny of all the Worlds Religions is for them to be finally reconciled with one another and unified into a single whole. The necessary key for the realization of this difficult process is the propagation and wide spread acceptance of the original truth behind all Religion, namely the eternally recurring idea that Everyone is God. The unification of world religion

Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
This is not the 20th century. We don’t have all the time in the world. These people aren’t playing games and they don’t stop.
We have to work as a goal, towards the real problem we are dealing with. We must start putting our energies towards the Muslims in these conflicts. We must figure out exactly how wide the problems are. We can head this all off, but someone has to get on the ball.
I will guarantee you that all of these conflicts are God based. They are once again due to religion. To be more specific it is the Muslim countries wanting once again to take back control of their lands.
They are fighting because they want the Christians out of their borders and countries. Just look all over Indonesia as we discussed.
Look at Africa, another hot spot. Not only did we arbitrarily reestablish their borders after colonization. They are all in poverty and they all involve Muslims on one or even both ends of the conflict.
As we have discussed, these people can’t even tolerate each other. Once they are done with us there will not be an end to it as some might think. They will just turn on each other.
Right now It appears that all the on going new conflicts can be blamed on and narrowed down to one word. As we explained and talked about in detail, no one today or in the history of civilization even knows if he exists. We are of course talking about God.
We have talked about the many unexplained mysteries of the world. Many of these have been attributed to unknown civilizations and forgotten knowledge. We don’t even have the technology today, to duplicate some of these feats.
Excuse me but isn’t this World War Three? The entire world appears to be in conflict. I am reading a book called, “World Conflict”, By Steven Strauss. Let me give you some quotes.
Some are from World Leaders that will illustrate just how, not with it, these people really are. They really don’t get it or do not want to admit it.
I’m in a section on war and poverty and listen to all this worthless garbage. Now this all sounds nice, expert, and what the people want to hear. But they unequivocally missed all the boats.
This is a larger part of why we have so many problems today. Now listen to some of this.
According to a report by Radio Free Europe journalist Anthony Georgieff, the center of War and Peace Research in Uppsala, Sweden issued a report that stated most conflicts today occur within a country’s own borders.
This conflicts with the past when wars were fought between different countries. This little bit of worthless information is just that. You just stop, learn what we have been saying, and look at all these conflicts in those terms.
These so called world leaders have got to see reality. They have to see what is really going on in order for us to successfully deal with this
. They have to take all these worthless, ridiculous figures and apply them in a helpful, useful, practical way. They must realize how many conflicts are involving Muslims.
Look at all these conflicts, look at the Middle East. Look at Bosnia, look at Chechnya, you will find what we have been saying all along.
*We are witnessing an attempted religious revival. It is normal, but certainly not healthy, not at this stage of civilization.
The Muslims have had enough, of what I at least have to agree with has been years of misuse and abuse of Muslim lands.
One just has to look at the history of the last two hundred and forty years.
You can only come to the conclusion that, yes we have made many mistakes. As we said, this by no means calls for or justifies what is happening in the world today.
All these coldly brutal and deadly activities many of them have resorted to must stop.
We discussed how the Europeans met in Germany and carved up Africa between them. However, in reality that was only a small part of what they did.
The European powers colonized one Islamic country after the other. They did this with absolute and total disregard for the population as was the way years ago.
This was done not because they were Muslims. This was done because they wanted the riches these lands added to their growing needs and industries.
France occupied Algeria in 1830; Britain occupied Aden nine years later. Then they occupied Tunisia in 1881 and Egypt in 1882. The next victim was the Sudan in 1889. This was followed by Libya and Morocco in 1912.
In 1915 the territories of the Ottoman Empire were split up. This was done as a reward for their siding with Germany during WW2. Ottoman Empire or Turkish Empire lands, covered Southwestern Asia, Northeastern Africa, and southeastern Europe.
This division was between France and Britain in anticipation of victory. After the war Britain and France set up protectorates and mandates in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Transjordan.
This was felt as outrage since the European powers had promised the Arab provinces of the Ottoman Empire their independence.
That one little action has to have added a lot of animosity to an already seething hatred for the West. Life Today The Real Story "2005"

They just don’t get it, it’s sickening. Kofi Anan once said, regardless of whether the inequality is due to ethnicity, national identity, or economic class, it tends to be reflected in unequal access to political power, no sh*! Sherlock.
Well, that sounds good to your average ignoramus, or politician, but it is way off and dead wrong again. We just have to wake up. If any of these so called world leaders are going to be able to pull it together and help the world they have got to see reality.
They have to, if any of these conflict burdened, war ravaged starving countries are to be helped. They first have to see and acknowledge what is really going on here.
They just don’t seem to want to admit to it or they just really don’t get it. We must as a world, be able to focus our good intentions on the right area so we can remedy the situation.
According to the United Nations another factor that fuels the fires of violent conflict today is the disturbing rise in ethnic politics. They just got through saying that the majority is not due to ethnicity.
Isn’t religion ethnic? Didn’t they just get through saying that ethnic politics are fueling the fires? I think they are all too confused and overwhelmed. Why don’t they just think one step further and find out or just tell the world what role religion plays in all this.
They will find out that yes, the countries are poor. One race or the other is desiring to usurp authority and take it over. Even from other Muslims, for their own faction or tribe.
Unequivocally you will find that there are Muslims on one side or the other, or both, of every single conflict.
This is not a small ordeal we face; it is time you are made aware of the gravity of what is ahead. This is not a few thousand Islamists we are dealing with, as we’ve been told.
This is an attempted resurgence involving millions of Muslims with a lot more to come. This is occurring on every level of society and it seems in every country. Not by everyone, but it’s early yet.
I have firm confidence that what we are embarking on is not good, and can be circumvented; we have just, and simply, to focus our attentions on the right problem. We can prevent this and regardless, we will prevail.
As we have illustrated, the entire world seems to be in conflict. We have, call them what you want, religious or ethnic, wars going on all over the entire world. Make no mistake about it, this is all about God.
Self admittedly there is not a person in the world who can with firm conviction even talk about him by name. We do not know in any capacity if he is still around. No one even knows if he exists.
Yet we continue to fight and kill in his supposed interests. These people are not doing this to recover a country for the people, or for their life.
Their government, their interests are for Islam and Islam only. Not all of Islam only their idea of Islam, They do not even want other Muslims involved or around. This cannot be tolerated, accepted, or allowed.
Leaders must recognize and admit what is going on today and take appropriate action. Sadly enough this is yet to be done.
As we said, these people are doing all these wrongs supposedly in the name of Allah, Muhammad, and the Muslim people. As you know by now this is just a flat out lie. They have greatly hurt the Muslim cause.
They have betrayed the average Muslim. They have turned their backs on the very person whose name and beliefs they are supposed to be defending. If he was to be if alive today he would put them out himself.

Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
Don’t you agree that it is time for us to realize, as a Nation, what is really happening. Everyone has to be made to realize what is really going on in the world today. Just look at the middle east and not just Syria!
With the exception of the age old adversaries every single one of the wars and conflict going on today has to do with the Muslims. Good or bad, whatever side they’re on, they are involved. We have got to seriously deal with this or it is only going to get worse.
All the conflicts, yeah, speaking of that, didn’t we as almost a single unified Alliance of all free civilized Nations, declare war on the terrorists and terror? Wasn’t it the terrorists, Al Qaeda that declared war on us, the United States, and the west?
Aren’t all those conflicts, other than the established ones, involving Muslims, or Muslims against Christians?
Look at the Middle East, Africa, and Indonesia. I have heard that at any given time 33% of the world is in conflict. I continue to say it, bar none that I can see, leaders, media, governments, they don’t get it. They are looking at and concerning themselves with the wrong thing.
They to a person just don’t get it, or they don’t want us to know. It would be nice to see some on the ball frankness.
It isn’t necessary to go beyond the borders any more. As far as they, (Muslims), are concerned, the enemy is within. Most often this happens to be Christian members of their own country. However they can also be fellow Muslims of another sect. They don’t even like each other.
Something is definitely wrong with this picture. They want leadership of their countries and the world, back. They will not settle for anything less. I will guarantee you that would only be the beginning if they did.
In this book the so called experts go on to say with a straight face, and I quote, “what is more interesting is that 80% of the wars today are fought because of poverty.
They go on to say that poorer countries were found to be at greater risk of war than their richer neighbors. Indeed, most of the wars were fought by countries with severe economic problems; I mean come on get with it.
Man when are we going to wake up and get with it, of course 80% of the wars are now fought behind their own borders. Of course 30% of the wars are fought in poverty stricken countries. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon, politician, world leader, or so called expert. Just a little bit of common sense and insight, which none of these people seem to possess.
They just don’t get it; look at all these conflicts for what they really are first. Every single one of them involves Muslims.
Thirdly they go on to say that yes, ethnicity is still a factor but not as big a factor as you may believe. It is when ethnicity is tied into poverty that war results. In richer countries, these ethnic divides are more easily breached without violence and war. Boy, how far from reality can these supposed know it all's really be? They are just not waking up.
The so called experts have once again lumped all statistics and evidence into categories they are familiar with, but dead wrong. War was traditionally fought for the three reasons they stated, poverty and ethnicity as two, and the third they say, was lacking.
They have to stop looking at things in conventional terms. There is a new variable thrown into the mix here.
The sooner they wake up to it the quicker we’ll be able to remedy things. The three categories they covered just happened to perfectly describe the Muslim situation or do they not see that?
Kofi Anan’s take on today’s situation albeit, wrong again, is this. He acknowledges that poverty does play a role in many contemporary standoffs. He would like to see us shift our focus of attention to the lack of equality and power many domestic social groups face in the world today.
He feels that it is inequality rather than poverty that is the driving force for conflicts today. Here again is another person heard from who has the right problem but the wrong reason for it. Why don’t we just focus our attention on the real problem, the Muslim situation? Focus on that and we will be able to take care of our current and future problems.
They just don’t get it, it’s sickening. He goes on to say, regardless of whether the inequality is due to ethnicity, national identity, or economic class, it tends to be reflected in unequal access to political power, no sh*! Sherlock.
Well, that sounds good to your average ignoramus, or politician, but it is way off and dead wrong again. We just have to wake up. If any of these so called world leaders are going to be able to pull it together and help the world they have got to see reality.

Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
Wow, I’ve been looking to talk about some other areas of the world where we were having problems and why but this really surprised me.
I just can’t believe the countries and lands that are in contention today: Except for one of the on going conflicts I think it‘s fair to say that the Muslims are involved in one way or the other, with the vast majority of them.
What does not concern God and the Muslims still involves Religion; every single conflict involves religion in one capacity or the other. The other reasons for war seem to be trumped by what is happening with the Muslims. I can’t believe no one has put two and two together yet.
There does not seem to be anything but Religious concerns right now. Normally a country may feel a need to go to war for any number of reasons. These include but are not limited to boundary disagreements, ethnic reasons, and the big one, religion.
I know the world doesn’t seem to want to admit it, but aren’t we fighting in the Middle East. Africa is tearing itself apart. Europe seems to be coming apart at the seams, with Kosovo and Serbia, etc. isn’t Russia having problems with Chechnya and others?
In Indonesia it is Muslim against Christian. They don’t understand why, when these people have lived happily side by side for years. I just don’t understand how they don’t understand.
I’ll tell you why, we have been trying to get heard for quite a while now. There is a lot more happening than authorities know or want to admit.
This is not simply a war against a minority of extremists. This is a war against Islamic Nations as a whole. This is the time, and we just have to realize the gravity of the situation we are facing. These people want there Nations back.
They don’t care who they have to kill, or alienate. This is a world insurrection of Islam; let’s call a spade a spade.
This isn’t something minor or insignificant as we are being told. We are living through a world movement, a renaissance type period.
The Muslims themselves are stretching their muscles. They are reasserting themselves. Muslims are fighting Christians all over the world. Can’t we see it? Look at the Moluccas, Papua, and the Spice Islands. Can’t we see what’s happening?
This is not just a few, or a few thousand, or a few hundred thousand or I suspect, even a few million. This is well documented all over the world. This is the reassertion of Muslim values, and it isn’t just a small movement.
The Koran tells them they may not begin hostilities. It does tell them that they may fight in self defense or in order to defend decent values. This is right out of the Koran.
As we said, the scary part is that Muhammad and the Koran leave it once again to the people to interpret this for themselves. This self interpretation enables them as Muslims to justify any horrendous activities.
However, the Koran would never allow or give credence to what these Islamists are doing to their religion, God, and Prophet Muhammad. Even if it is in an attempt to right past wrongs, it is not condoned.
They are going against everything he professed and believed in. These Islamists are not furthering the cause of the Muslim people but are worsening their cause.
Maybe that is their goal to bring about the end called for in the Bible, Koran, and Torah.
We, it seems have in the past inadvertently done great injustices to the Muslim people. They are not alone, and even have some western countries that have also been wronged in the past for company.
What we can’t afford today especially is to all of a sudden have people think that they are going to take matters into their own hands and rectify the situation.
With civilization on this planet now evolved to the degree we have, we cannot absorb all the negative repercussions of what is about to be heaped on it.
Colonialism it seems is turning out to be the single, largest, all encompassing problem for the civilized world.
As we have illustrated and talked about this was occurring in the 17th, 18th, 19th, and even 20th centuries. When we were forming our country the European Nations were busy preparing the foundation for Industrialization.
Hopefully the end result of all this would be the prosperity of the European people.
They indulged in taking any country they deemed to be less than civilized. They annexed the lands, subjugated the natives. They set about taking from these lands whatever it was they wanted.
The Europeans felt that they were doing these countries a favor just by being there. They were putting the people to work, even though they didn’t pay them accordingly. What they thought they were doing was bettering the people.
They thought the natives would be better off by experiencing the superior European intellect. What they did next was what caused our biggest troubles. They gave them their freedom.
It was the way they did it that set in motion dissent amongst the natives. This dissent has never abided and for the foreseeable future, never will.
Every single one of these countries has historically gotten along very well as both Muslim and Christian. But now all of a sudden they don’t. Officials aren’t quite sure why, we can tell you why. This so called war on terrorism is more realistically called a war against Islam itself, why can’t we see it.
Let us discuss the disintegration of Europe as we have known it in modern times. This is the final marker and warning to the western world as to what is happening right under their very noses.
It is a little troublesome as it seems that the very countries that started industrialization and colonialism are now being torn asunder.
This is happening to them as they have done in the past with all the small once autonomous Muslim countries. They want their autonomy once again. It is the ultimate irony and the expected result in the end.
Long term
European Affairs
Cyprus with a long affair between Turkey and Greece over who
Cyprus belongs to seems to have no end in sight. Cyprus is an island
republic off the coast of Turkey in the Mediterranean. They were
given their Independence from England in 1961. You have to wonder if
we can ever work this one out either.
The Basque region wants out of Spain.
His is another long term conflict heard from. This is despite what
the Spanish have felt and done since the Madrid train bombings. The
Spanish have just increased and prolonged their problems since they
still do not know how to solve this never ending long term dilemma.
Armenia vs. Azerbaijan
Slovenia
Croatia
Dagestan
Serbia
Kosovo
Chechnya
Bosnia
* New and ongoing – the Ukraine Hungary
This is a constantly evolving situation. In light of the vast number of potentially deadly weapons floating around over there it bears close watching and monitoring.
Don’t you agree that it is time for us to realize as a Nation and a world what is really happening. Everyone has to be made to realize what is really going on in the world today.

A History of God, Installment 3
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
What most people fail to realize, is that another perfectly natural and cyclical occurrence, is unfolding right now. It is one, of many that is happening all at the same time. One is feeding the other and God willing, everything will work out favorably.
Once again, Christians and Jews, due to the increasing unease about their surroundings are beginning to look to God for answers.
All the bombings, killings, terrorism, and many, many, problems in our Governments have become too much for most to bear alone.
This is especially true in the U.S. with a multitude of systematic moral inequities right here at home. This is due in large part to our moral degradation and our perceived inability to do the right thing. People are more and more turning back to the one true God in ever increasing numbers or turning away all together.
Shortly, further on in this discussion I am going to blow your collective minds away. We will be pointing out something that has happened to both the Jews, and the Christians, and is now happening to the Muslims.
Yes, what we are conveniently calling terrorism is once again, a natural occurrence. The big problem now is that the shoe is on the other foot. With the stakes certainly being much higher, and the weapons and means, a lot more violent we cannot allow this to happen.
I believe it would be more accurate and in line with mans cyclical history to stop calling the blight facing the entire world today terrorism. It would be more accurate if we started to start calling it what it really is, an”Islamist Jihad”.
As we discussed, with the early belief that spirits resided in naturally beautiful places in nature. Civilized man has always sought to get as close to nature as he could.
Man has always believed that this would bring him closer to God. This, as my fellow Americans well know, is how Native Americans felt.
This in particular is what makes this Islamist Jihad so particularly disturbing. It’s not that they don’t care about human life, including their own. It is that they are willing to destroy the very planet that they believe God created for them.
They do this with the absolutely ridiculous belief that they are going to be rewarded once they die and go to heave. The unbelievable pert of this is that they expect 42 virgins, and rivers of gold, or something like that.
Come on people of the world, this planet, this world, this land, is all we are going to get. For the sake of the generations to follow us, we must take care of this.
That includes helping the families left behind by the Islamists. They more often than not are left morally and financially destitute. The Islamists leave behind, ruins, and very often, land that is no longer viable for human habitation.
We have mentioned that man has always sought out his own roll in
life on this planet.
It must also be noted that in forming the three great modern religions he has assigned natural earthly phenomena, stratospheric positions in all 3 faiths, (Muslim, Christian, and Jewish).
This is not just another coincidence. All those of faith, non faith or believer on any kind of level all believe in the natural earthly phenomena.
We are one with the earth and the universe and everyone regardless of their belief shares this belief.
The Bible, the Torah, and Koran, can each be read by hundreds of people, and every one of these people would leave with a different understanding.
This is not only condoned but self interpretation is encouraged. This is so you can find the answers to your questions and satisfy your personal needs.
The 3 holy books sometimes leave questions unaddressed, unanswered, and purposely vague, as religious leaders do not have the answers themselves.
All 3 religions have a heaven which of course is the universe around us. They all have a hell, which only makes sense, is a depiction of the earth’s core. I believe, as many of you do that there is a purgatory and we the living, are in it right now.
What stinks is that due to our own negligence and irresponsibility we are creating a living hell on earth. Life Today The Real Story "2005"

A History of God, Installment 2, Atheists
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
Belief in God, believe it or not, started around fourteen thousand years ago. I know myself, I was always led to believe, and inclined to think that belief in God was started by the Jews.
I was led to believe that they had a patent on God and everyone else was wasting their time, wrong. Years ago people believed spirits resided, as many of us still do, in places and things such as rocks, mountains, plants, and other beautiful objects of nature.
The Arabs called this Jinn, various tribes around the world knew this as Manna, and Latin’s, as Numina. All religions revered nature as being close to God.
Atheists, which are looked down upon by the three great religions, also believe in this and revere nature. So you see, you are all right, and just differ in the respect that atheists do not feel the need to carry knowledge any further as some of us do.
It all depends on how much of an explanation one needs to understand his or her role on the planet and in life.
Depending on a persons needs they will go to, and find what they need in many of various religions. Atheists believe that life on this planet is a very rare but natural occurrence, as naturalist, evolutionist, and many of us others do.
Some people only have a need to carry the process further and assign these creations to the doings of a God, and further, to a vision by an identified prophet.
* At one point in time every religious faith including, Jews, Muslims, and especially Christians, were thought of as atheists. This was because their beliefs did not agree with existing beliefs in practice at the time.
Nonbelievers, (atheists), until very recently, were very rare. During Abraham’s, time, virtually everyone believed.
With the advent of ever improving fields of science being able to explain many of the great mysteries of the world many people all over the world have of late, been moving away from their belief in the one God.
People are more and more turning back to the one true God in ever increasing numbers.
Shortly, further on in this discussion I am going to blow your collective minds away. We will be pointing out something that has happened to both the Jews, and the Christians, and is now happening to the Muslims.

A History of God, Installment 1
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
Okay people, hold on, and we’ll discuss what is really happening in the world today. I am only amazed, that you have an average American as the source, wow, only in America.
Men and women have been worshiping Gods in one form or the other since humans first began to think of their environment. From reading the most knowledgeable book on the history of God I have ever read, (KAREN Armstrong’s, “A history of God”).
I have learned some amazing facts. Many of which I am sure, were not even intended. I can only hope, and believe I have, that I do her justice. In researching what I have always been told, are my own off the wall theories. I have found that this subject, to my astonishment is 100% my own original thought, worked out over 40 years.
I was quite astonished to find that I was not as off the wall as I was told I was all those years. My theories were reaffirmed by almost every one of the greatest minds the world has ever known as you will learn.
So I don’t know, maybe my thoughts are off the wall but I seem to have some awful good company. When man first started religious belief, and worshiping the Gods he did, there was, of course no organization to it.
There was only a desire to understand and justify mans role amongst the tremendously powerful, complex, terrifying, and mysterious environment in which they existed.
Religion was seen as a way to find meaning, in mans role and value, in this environment, and life. There were no priests, mullahs, or religious leaders. There was only man, with the evolution of the process of curiosity.
Man was trying to understand his role in this awesome world he found himself in. This reaction to his surroundings was completely natural.
You will see that it is continued, and is a big part of the problem facing us, in all countries today. God is simply, a reaction to mans problems, needs, and desires. As thus, God and religion will undergo a transformation throughout history.
This occurs as mans needs change with the environment he finds himself in, sound familiar. It is more important for a specific idea of God to fill the need for a particular time, purpose, and circumstances, than it is for it to be logically sound. As soon as mans idea of God stops fitting the purpose for which it was chosen, it will be changed, often for something very different.
This is also one of the events being experienced today. This is happening in many societies and particularly in the Catholic Church in America.
This idea of change did not bother believers in the one God. This was because they knew that their ideas of God were not etched in stone. In fact, they have been changed many times over the years by the Muslims, Christians, and most surprisingly, the Jews.
I personally was under the impression that they were Gods chosen people. As such, they were very staunch in what God they prayed to. This is not true, they too as we will discuss, have changed their God to fit their purpose more than the other two great religions.
Man is not so sure about the God they pray to. Jews are forbidden to even pronounce the name of God, and Muslims cannot even try to depict God in visual imagery. Further on in the discussion
I will make you see that there is a God. It is absolutely amazing, but, the Muslims are right, the Christians are right, and the Jews are right. Atheists, Buddhist, all of you, you are all right, and it is amazingly simple.
You will all see the truth, and you only differ in the way you choose to practice your belief, it is only common sense.
All talk of God is overwhelming to most, in their attempt to express reality. But, the God of the Jews, Muslims, and Christians is a God that by all accounts, speaks, and he does. His spoken word is of the utmost importance, and has shaped the history of human culture.
Belief in God, believe it or not, started around fourteen thousand years ago. I know myself, I was always led to believe, and inclined to think that belief in God was started by the Jews.
I was led to believe that they had a patent on God and everyone else was wasting their time, wrong!
Years ago people believed spirits resided, as many of us still do, in places and things such as rocks, mountains, plants, and other beautiful objects of nature. I am sure every Religion in the world feels that at times. Life Today The Real Story "2005"

The Enlightenment and its influence on the U.S. Installment 7
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
The new born again Christianity that was beginning to appear in the west during the 17th and 18th centuries was frequently unhealthy. It was often characterized by violent and dangerous emotions and reversals. We can see this in the wave of religious fervour known as the Great Awakening that swept through New England during the 1730s.
This was inspired by the evangelical preaching of George Whitfield a colleague of the Wesley’s and the sermons of Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758). Edwards held his sermons in Northampton Connecticut. He described his parishioners there as being nothing out of the ordinary; they were sober, orderly, and good, but lacking in religious fervour.
They were no better or worse than the men and women living in the other colonies. That was until in 1734 when two young people died shockingly sudden deaths. This all changed suddenly as the people were real nervous and concerned.
This was reinforced by Edwards himself who was known for his hellfire and brimstone sermons. Edwards plunged the town into a frenzy of religious fervor. People could talk of nothing but religion; they even stopped working in order to spend the entire day reading the Bible.
In about 6 months there had been around 300 born again conversions in Northampton alone. They came from all classes of society. Edwards saw this craze as the direct work of God himself.
He meant this quite literally as he repeatedly said that God seems to have gone out of his usual way of behaving in New England. He was real pleased to see that this was moving the people in a most marvelous and miraculous manner.
It must be said however, that the Holy Spirit sometimes manifested himself in some rather disturbing ways. People would sink into deep despair thinking that God would not save them.
This would be followed right away with an equally extreme feeling of elation when they all of a sudden felt saved. They would break out with laughter while weeping and tears streaming down their faces at the same time.
Sometimes they would cry out in a loud voice expressing their love for God. We are obviously far from the calm control that was supposed to be the hallmark of true enlightenment.
These intensely emotional mood swings have continued to be the hallmark of religious revival in America. It was a rebirth attended by violent swings from anger and fear to instantaneous joy and laughter. This was a new version of the western struggle with God. The awakening eventually spread like wild fire to encompass all of the colonies. Eventually emotions died down until after a couple of years things were pretty much back to normal.
The new birth of the awakening was an evangelical version of the enlightenments ideal of the pursuit of happiness. It represented an existential liberation. It liberated the people from a world in which everything awakens powerful feelings of apprehension.
The awakening occurred in the poorer colonies where people had few expectations of happiness in the world. This happened despite the hopes of the sophisticated enlightenment. The experience of being born again resulted in a feeling of joy.
There was a perception of beauty that was quite different from any natural sensation. Therefore, during the awakening a God experience had made the enlightenment of the new world available to the poor as well as the successful people in the colonies.
The God of Jonathan Edwards also contributed to the revolutionary enthusiasm of 1775. In the eyes of the revivalists England had lost the new light that had shown so brightly during the puritan revolution.
To them England now seemed decadent and regressive. It was Edwards and his colleagues who led Americans of the lower classes to take the first steps toward revolution.
Edwards felt that human effort would hasten the coming of God’s kingdom. He believed that this was attainable and imminent in the new world.
From the outset I must say my intention of going through the period of the enlightenment was to show us exactly what the mood and level of morality was during the era of the founding of our country. It absolutely backs up what we found in book one.
However I am very surprised to find that it was the Colonists of the lower classes who led the way in the revolution. They had experienced
the enlightenment and its revival of morality and were driven to see the birth of a righteous nation. It was their religious fervor that actually took the first steps toward revolution.
The awakening itself made people feel that the process of redemption as described in the Bible had already begun. God, the people felt, was completely and firmly committed to the revolution. Edwards gave the Trinity a political interpretation.
The Son “was the deity generated by Gods understanding, and thus the blueprint for the new Commonwealth. The spirit, “the deity subsisting in act”, was the force that would accomplish this master plan in time.
In the new world of America, God would thus be able to contemplate his own actions on earth. The society would express the Excellencies of God himself.
The New England would be a shining city on the hill. It would be a light unto the Gentiles. It would shine with a reflection of the glory of God upon it which shall be attractive and ravishing to all.
The God of Jonathan Edwards would be incarnated in the Commonwealth, and Christ was seen as being embodied in a good society.

The Enlightenment and its influence on the U.S. Installment 6
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
A new type of religious devotion emerged alongside the rationalism of enlightenment; it was often referred to as the religion of the heart. This was because it was centered in the heart not the head. It urged people to abandon external proofs, and authorities. It urged people to discover the God that was in the heart of everyone.
John Wesley, (1703-1791), the founder of the Methodist Religion, had always been a fervent Christian. When he was a fellow at Lincoln College, Oxford, he and his brother Charles started a society known as, The Holy Club. It was strong on method and discipline. so its members became known as Methodists.
In 1735 John and Charles sailed to the colony of Georgia in America as missionaries. John however returned to England disconsolate two years later. This was because he felt he needed converting himself.
During the voyage home he was impressed by some missionaries of the Moravian sect. He was impressed with the fact that they avoided all doctrine. He was agreeable to the thought that religion was simply an affair of the heart.
John underwent a conversion experience during a Moravian meeting. His conversion convinced him that he had received a direct mission from God. He believed that he had to preach this new kind of Christianity throughout England.
The experience of being born again was crucial. It was absolutely necessary to experience God continually breathing on the human soul. Experiencing God would fill the Christian with a continual, thankful Love of God. This was consciously felt. Ultimately this made it natural, and even necessary to love every child of God with kindness and gentleness.
Doctrines about God they felt, were useless and could be damaging. The psychological effect of Christ’s words on the believer was the best proof of the truth of Religion. An emotional experience of religion was the only proof of genuine faith and hence of salvation. But as we know today, this mysticism can be dangerous.
Mystics have always expressed the perils of the spiritual paths and warned against hysteria; peace and tranquility were the signs of true mysticism. This born again Christianity could produce frenzied behavior.
The American scholar, Albert C. Outler points out that the new religion of the heart and the rationalism of the enlightenment was both antiestablishment. They both mistrusted external authority. Rationalism and the enlightenment both allied themselves with the modernists against the ancients. They both shared a hatred of inhumanity, and an enthusiasm for philanthropy.
It seems that a radical religious devotion actually paved the way for the ideals of the enlightenment to take root among Jews as well as Christians.
Many of these sects seemed to respond to the immense changes of the period by violating religious taboos. Some even appeared blasphemous. Of course some were dubbed atheistic.
Puritans had left England and settled in New England during the 1620s. This as we know, was to pursue their religion in peace. This time also brought about the first Quakers.
Quakers preached that all men and women could approach God directly. There was an inner light within every person that only has to be discovered and nurtured.
Once it had been discovered and nurtured everybody, regardless of class or stature, could achieve salvation here on earth. They also preached pacifism and nonviolence. Life Today The Real Story "2005"

The Enlightenment and its influence on the U.S. Installment 4
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
Like Descartes, Newton had no time for mystery which he equated to stupidity and ignorance. He too was anxious to rid Christianity of mysticism.
He believed that the doctrine of the Trinity, (father, son, and Holy Ghost), were false. He believed they were purposely created by the church to attract converts because it too was being subjected to the new scientific principles.
Once this started to happen the modern period of true skepticism was irrevocably launched.
Hermann Reimarus, (1694-1768), argued that Jesus just wanted to found a godly state. He believed that it was when his mission failed that he had died in despair. He pointed out that in the Gospels; Jesus had never proclaimed that he had come to atone for the sins of mankind.
That idea can only be traced back to Saint Paul who is the true founder of Christianity. We should not, therefore, revere Jesus Christ as God. He believed that he should be thought of as the teacher of a remarkable, simple, and exalted Religion.
Once the scientific method had become the standard, it became difficult for many people to read the Gospels in any other way. Western Christians were now committed to a literal understanding of their faith. They had taken a step back from myth. After all, a story was either factually true or it wasn’t.
The traditional doctrine of the Atonement, (the reconciliation of God and man brought about by the death of Christ), which depicted God demanding the death of his own son presented an unacceptable picture of God. He was the righteous God, the embittered God, and the angered God.
His demands for strict retribution purposely filled many Christians with fear and compelled them not to be sinful.
More and more Christians were becoming embarrassed by the cruelty of so much of their Christian history. Christians had conducted fearsome crusades.
They conducted inquisitions, and persecutions in the name of God. This was a God that is supposed to be all encompassing, all understanding, and all forgiving.
They were becoming increasingly enamored with liberty and freedom of conscience. The bloody reformation for many, proved to be the final straw.
Reason did seem to be the answer. However, could a God stripped of the mystery that had surrounded him for centuries be an effective God?
In the west Christians were on the edge of a more secular age, though they still adhered to a belief in God. The new Religion of reason would be known as Deism.
This is belief claiming foundation solely on the evidence of reason. They believed in the existence of God as creator of the Universe who after setting it in motion abandoned it. He assumed no control over life. He exerted no influence on natural phenomena. He also gave no supernatural revelation, man that sounds pretty objective.
It had no time for the imaginative disciplines of mysticism and mythology. It turned its back on the on the myth of revelation. The new religion also turned its back on such traditional mysteries as the Trinity. The Trinity had for so long held people captive of superstition. Instead it declared allegiance to the personal God which man could discover with his own efforts.
Francoise Marie De Voltaire was the embodiment of the enlightenment movement. He also described his version of the perfect Religion.
Wouldn’t it teach much morality and very little dogma? Wouldn’t it tend to make men just without making them absurd? It would be a religion that did not make you believe in things that are impossible. He believed it would be a religion that was not contradictory.
He believed that it would be a religion that was not injurious to divinity, and harmful to man. He believed it would be a religion which did not menace with eternal punishment anyone possessing common sense?
Would it not be that which did not uphold its beliefs with executioners? Wouldn’t it be a religion that did not inundate the earth with blood on account of unintelligible argument?
It would be a Religion that taught only the worship of one God, justice, tolerance, and humanity. This all sounds ideal, he has my vote.
The Churches had only themselves to blame for this defiance. Since for centuries they had burdened the faithful with an overwhelming amount of doctrine. Voltaire did argue however, that faith in one God was more natural and rational to humanity. Voltaire’s problem of course, was not God but the doctrines about him which offended the standard of reason. Life Today The Real Story "2005"

The Enightenment and its influence on the U.S. Installment 3
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, Never published, be the one
The English Physicist, Isaac Newton, (1642-1727), also reduced God to his own mechanical system. He was as anxious as Descartes to rid Christianity of mysticism. Newton began with an attempt to explain the physical universe.
He believed that God was an essential part of the system. To Newton, nature was entirely passive and God was the sole source of activity. Thus as with Aristotle he believed God was simply a continuation of the natural physical order.
Newton was inclined to describe the relationship between the various celestial and terrestrial bodies in mathematical terms. He did this so as to create a coherent and comprehensive system. The notion of gravitational force which as we know, Newton introduced, drew the component parts of this system together.
Unlike his contemporaries, Pascal, and Descartes, Newton was absolutely convinced that he had proof of Gods existence.
Why didn’t the internal gravities of the various celestial bodies pull them all together into one huge mass? Because they had been carefully disposed throughout space with perfect distance between them in order to facilitate life on this planet he believed there had to be Devine intervention.
He felt that it was not to be explained by natural cause. He was forced to admit there had to be a God involved.
He believed that while gravity might have put the planets into motion that it could not have been done correctly without God’s help.
He believed that without Divine power it could never put them into such a motion as they have around the sun; therefore he was inclined to assign this system to a greater intelligent being.
If for example, the earth revolved on its axis at only 100 MPH instead of its 1000 MPH, night would be ten times longer and the planet would be too cold to sustain life.
He also knew that the daytime heat would shrivel vegetation. I am sure we all agree it is very rare occurrences having everything co-mingle perfectly.
It of course has to in order to create the perfect environment to happen and prosper. It may be rare but like many of you, I too believe it to have been a perfectly natural occurrence. You can certainly see the varied professional opinions out there at the time our country was formed. There was a tremendous confusion over reality. Just what has changed anyway?
Like Descartes, Newton had no time for mystery which he equated to stupidity and ignorance. He too was anxious to rid Christianity of mysticism. He believed that the doctrine of the Trinity, (father, son, and Holy Ghost), were false. He believed they were purposely created by the church to attract converts. What say you? The Enlightenment and Its Influence on the U.S. Installment 1
Life today the Real Story written by James m. Joiner 2005
awesome insight, yet to be published
This occurred during the enlightenment and the feelings at the time heavily influenced the forming of our principles. In light of what we have experienced already we can be thankful for our founding fathers wisdom. With what you are about to read, it becomes obvious that the decision to keep religion separate from politics was a good one. The enlightenment was a confusing time for Religion.
With the advent of technicalization in the west an entirely different kind of Society was formed. a new ideal of humanity came about. This in turn would affect the perception of the nature and role of God. The newly industrialized and efficient west also changed the course of history.
Other countries of the civilized world found it increasingly difficult to ignore the western world as it had in the past. The Muslims as we know are still unable or unwilling to come to terms with it.
No other civilization in the history of the world had achieved anything like this. The west therefore created problems that were completely new, and very difficult to deal with.
Until the eighteenth century Islam had been the dominant world power in much of the Middle East and Africa. By the end of the eighteenth century Europe had begun to dominate the world.
The very nature of its achievements made it impossible for the rest of the world to catch up. Europe began to colonize as much of the world as it could. They did this with the overlying prevailing thought being that western civilization was far superior to everyone else.
They believed that with their vast religious and civilizational principals that they were beyond reproach. They felt that they were vastly superior and always were. We know now that this is not true and right for everyone.
They also believed that any country would be better off under its guidance. We have surely found out the hard way that none of this was true either.
The process of westernization had begun. With it the view that the well being of society should trump any religious considerations became the prevailing thought. This, as we said, was the train of thought that prevailed when the Constitution was written, and our country was formed.
The west was now no longer an Agriculture based society. We were no longer governed by the many nuances of climate, resources, and agriculture. Its technical innovations meant that it had become independent of local and world conditions.
The Islamists as we all know are trying hard to turn this around.
The accumulation of Capital, and the process of modernization, led the west to a series of changes. It brought us Industrialization, an intellectual enlightenment, and social and political revolutions, as a natural occurrence.
These many profound cultural changes affected the way in which men and women perceived themselves. This caused them to revise their relationship with what was to them, the one ultimate reality, God. This was just as it is happening today.
Then, the religion change was due to prosperity in society. Today it’s occurring due to insecurity in society. The many changes ultimately created an unstoppable momentum. More and more people from all levels of society were necessarily drawn into this process of modernization that was touching every sphere of life known to civilized man.
Ultimately it became necessary to involve all levels of society in this process. It was necessary in order to continue, and even increase productivity. It was necessary as a result of the accumulation of capital.
The expansion of mass markets, and advances in science and technology also made it a must do situation. This of course led to social changes in western society. Men and women on every level felt empowered and in charge of their own lives as never before.
We also see the fear and anxiety that innovation and change has brought to traditional societies. We are right now experiencing this with Islam.
There was new optimism about humanity as control over the natural world appeared to be advancing in leaps and bounds. People began to think that a better education and improved laws could bring light to the human spirit.
This new confidence in the natural powers of human beings meant that people began to think that they could achieve enlightenment on their own. They no longer felt that they had to rely on tradition, church, or a revelation from God in order to discover the truth.
Consequently innovative scientists and intellectuals felt obliged to work out their own theories of life and religion. They felt that their new found knowledge and effectiveness gave them the responsibility to look at traditional Christian explanations of reality and evaluate them for themselves. The new scientific spirit was based purely on observation and experiment.
The western sciences could take nothing for granted. The people were increasingly ready to risk a mistake or to question established authorities and institutions. Of course this included the Bible, the Church, and accepted Christian principles.
The traditional teachings of the existence of God were no longer entirely satisfactory or acceptable. Natural scientists and philosophers full of enthusiasm to find out the truth, felt compelled to verify the reality of God. They did this in the same way they proved other unexplained phenomena.
French Physicist Blaise Pascal, (1623-1662), was brutally honest with himself. Unlike many of his contemporaries he was convinced that there was no way to prove that God existed. Pascal was the first person in this new enlightened environment, to concede that belief in God could only be a matter of personal choice.
By making the decision to surrender to God, the faithful feel themselves transformed. They become faithful, honest, humble, grateful, and full of good.
Somehow the Christian finds that life has acquired new meaning and significance, having created a faith and having found God in the face of hopelessness and despair. God is a reality because he works. Faith is not intellectual certainty but an experience that brings with it a moral enlightenment. Life Today The Real Story "2005"
