Gaddafi has us right where he wants us, now what?

Libyan forces loyal to Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi have been firing into residential neighborhoods in Misurata with cluster bombs a weapon that has been banned by much of the world, witnesses say.

Barack Obama has said the "noose is tightening" on Colonel Gaddafi but the US will not increase its military role in Libya. Yeah right! He's riding around laughing at NATO and killing civilians with cluster bombs. Get real, this guy and his family are going nowhere unless we get involved on the ground and if we do it will be hell!

Another Western ultimatum for Gaddafi

Female snipers suspected of belonging to the Marxist guerilla group FARC from Colombia, have joined other mercenaries fighting to keep dictator Muammar Gaddafi in power, according to the reports received by Libyan rebels.

Libya's 'Claudia Schiffer' Defends Gadhafi -- Because He's Her Dad "We are a people that cannot be defeated," she said, pumping her fists in her family's trademark gesture of defiance. Her father did the same thing Thursday while being driven through Tripoli's streets in a bizarre parade procession, with the dictator popping up out of the sunroof of an SUV and waving to supporters.

Nato and Libya: What now?

Gaddafi has us right where he wants us: US planes still bombing Libya: Pentagon I should have known. Not that I disagree with it but as usual we worked it so we appeased the dove crowd and finagled it to please the hawks by putting the planes under NATO. I also think it is good that Gaddafi knows we are still over his head. I know they respect and fear the US more than the rest of NATO.

I reiterate: Rebels are selling their oil now,let them use the oil money. Secure more areas, more money for more sounds like motivation for the rebels to fight and retain, not to expect us to do it. Sounds like a win win to me.

Nothing has changed and it will not unless thy whoever they are start hitting Tripoli the heart of the problem, the AU gets serious about getting rid of their benefactor Gaddafi, the Arabs get more involved, and the French get involved on the ground if they care so much because Britain won't do it and we can not.

We are looking at arming these rebels who turn around and run at the drop of a hat it seems. What is the guarantee that they are going to stand their ground and fight for their lives? They seem more like cry babies blaming everything on NATO and the west. They want us to do their fighting for them. They know the ruthless killer that is Gaddafi, they should have known he would not step down and they would have to fight to the death as he slaughtered their people.

We can't do this again. So far I am on Obama's side, I think he, NATO, the Arabian's and the AU have done the right thing. They did not wait during a year of slaughter as Clinton did in the Balkans, Obama did not go full bore and unilaterally as Bush did. It is already obvious that the no fly zone is a failure without the US running it. We can not get dragged into this further. We must get out now and the rebels must fight the good fight or die. We can not do this for them and Gaddafi is never going to step aside nor will his sons give up what they think is theirs.

Any way you look at it Kaddafi is no Mubarak and Egypt's army is not the army of blood thirsty mercenaries Kaddafi's Billions buys. They aren't going to be able to take out Gaddafi. He is going to keep slaughtering the "rats" The no fly zone stopped working when we handed it to the Brits and French though they seem to be doing better now the Bgabgo is capture and they can focus on Libya though I understand Gaddafi's forces are still flying and killing rebels.

I just see no way in hell that Moamar, Saif, any of the Gaddafi men, or his daughter for that matter are going to go anywhere. I believe we screwed up again unless France takes control on the ground. We can't do it and we are getting dragged into it!

I am all for dropping a MOAB (mother of all bombs) or a 30,000 pound bunker buster designed to dig 7 or 8 levels underground before exploding right in the middle of Gaddafi's 4 acre compound. I was just listening to Gaddafi's bitchy daughter speaking in Tripoli and Gaddafi hiding in a car while Loyalist planes circled overhead. What the heck is that in a supposed no fly zone? We are going to end up doing this ourselves I am afraid and what about Russia and China?

expanded coalition firepower by hardware and role: Pictures and details look great on paper but we want to see it make a difference!

Libya crisis mapped

Doha, Qatar: NATO, Arab and African ministers met with Libya’s rebels here on Wednesday in a show of support for insurgents who are seeking to overthrow Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi against a backdrop of division over the pace of coalition air attacks on pro-Qaddafi forces

expanded coalition firepower by hardware and role Pictures and details look great on paper but we want to see it make a difference!

Tripoli does not feel like a city at war. There has been no sight or sound of bombing or anti-aircraft fire for the best part of a week. Libya's capital is isolated, and the future is uncertain. They better start going after Tripoli and the source if they want to make a difference and do it relentlessly and consistently.

Britain called on Wednesday for a temporary financial mechanism to be set up to help pay for public sector costs in rebel-held areas of Libya.

Rebels are selling their oil now,let them use the oil money. Secure more areas, more money for more sounds like motivation for the rebels to fight and retain, not to expect us to do it. Sounds like a win win to me.

NATO and North Africa back in business in Libya, but will it make a difference? Nope!

Airstrikes blew up 11 tanks belonging to forces loyal to Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi as they approached Ajdabiya today, and 14 more were hit earlier on the outskirts of Misrata. NATO strikes also left craters in the road used by Qaddafi to resupply troops shelling Ajdabiya as South African president Jacob Zuma arrived in the capital of Tripoli for cease-fire talks.

Libya's rebels said a cease-fire plan proposed by the African Union and agreed to by Muammar Qaddafi won't be acceptable if it allows the ruler and his sons to retain power as they insist They will not step down period! It would take Russia and China and they would never ask him to step down regardless of Gaddafi murdering more than them because they want his oil.

South Africa's Zuma Says Meeting With Qaddafi Was 'Huge Success' They call that a huge success? It was a waste of time and a bad joke!

Forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi shelled the besieged town of Misrata on Monday after the African Union said he had accepted a plan to end Libya's civil war. Zuma's meeting with Gaddafi sure was a huge success huh?

Nothing has changed once again and it will not:

Prospects of rebel takeover in Libya dying

Notice her middle finger? Who do you think that is for?

Libyan government forces tried to storm into the besieged city of Misrata on Friday as NATO generals acknowledged their air power was not enough to help insurgents remove Muammar Gaddafi by force alone.

Eyewitness: Whispers in Tripoli

Rebels flee Ajdabiya strike Rebels fled after more deaths from a NATO strike. I am sorry but they are proving to be their own worse enemy. They forgot to tell NATO they had tanks, Duhh! Gaddafi probably gave them to them and is having a good laugh.

Nato refuses to apologize for an air strike that hit anti-Gaddafi forces in Libya, saying it had not been aware rebels had tanks.

In pictures: Rebels hit

Gaddafi's staying power

Gaddafi exchanging tanks for civilian trucks to mingle with the rebels

Live feed: Libya and Mid-East crisis

Despite CIA in Libya and Moussa Koussa's defection the slaughter continues. When I first heard Gaddafi had changed tactics getting rid of his tanks and putting his fighters in civilian vehicles I was concerned for the rebels and the CIA and that is a real concern in many instances I am sure. That said, with the defection of Kaddafi's foreign Minister Kaddafi may be experiencing a partial unraveling.

US 'backs covert rebel aid'

Nothing has changed:

We are looking at arming these rebels who turn around and run at the drop of a hat it seems. What is the guarantee that they are going to stand their ground and fight for their lives? Also that would mean clothing feeding and paying them. Are we willing to spend another trillion dollars? I say we because I am sure we would get stuck with that too as well as the training which would make Obama a liar as he said there would be no boots on the ground.

We can't do this again. So far I am on Obama's side, I think he has done the right thing. They want to arm the rebels now which means feed, pay, and training, and boots on the ground making Obama a liar. We already have 2 one trillion dollar Muslim wars going. We can not do a third and neither can Britain. France wants to recognize the rebels they should be the ground force it will be needed at the very least. We came to France's rescue in WW1, WW2, and Vietnam, I say three strikes you're out and let them do or die.
