Saudi Arabia Goes on the Offensive Against Iran while Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi criticizes Iran on Syria

World leaders squirm as Iran summit turns tense: A showpiece summit hosted by Iran stumbled as soon as it opened on Thursday when the head of the UN pressed Tehran on its nuclear stand, and Egypt's new leader publicly sided with Syria's opposition. The double challenge, before the leaders and delegates of the 120-member Non-Aligned Movement, upset Iran's plans to portray the two-day summit as a diplomatic triumph over Western efforts to isolate it.

UN chief Ban Ki-moon, who looked irritated at Khamenei's remarks, shot back that Iran should boost global confidence in its nuclear activities by "fully complying with the relevant (UN) Security Council resolutions and thoroughly cooperating with the IAEA," the UN's nuclear watchdog. Egypt's new President Mohamed Morsi -- making the first visit to Iran by an Egyptian head of state since the 1979 Islamic revolution -- in turn embarrassed his hosts by voicing support for the opposition in Syria, which is fighting the Damascus regime unwaveringly backed by Iran.

Saudi Arabia Goes on the Offensive Against Iran: The customary manner of dealing with a problem by the patriarchal regime is to bury it in money. King Abdullah announced at the height of the Arab Spring that he was increasing the national budget by $130 billion to be spent over the coming five years. Government salaries and the minimum wage were raised. New housing and other benefits are to be provided. At the same time, he plans to expand the security forces by 6,000 men.

While the Saudi king seeks to sooth the unrest among the general population by adding more government benefits, he will not grant any concessions to the 8 percent of the population that is Shia. He takes seriously the warning by King Abdullah of Jordan back in 2004 of the danger of a Shia Crescent that would extend from the coast of Lebanon to Afghanistan. Hezbollah in Lebanon, Assad in Syria, and the Shina-controlled government of Iraq form the links in the chain.

Morsi criticizes Syria at Tehran meeting : Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has said it is an "ethical duty" to support the Syrian people against the "oppressive regime" in Damascus. His speech at the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran on Thursday prompted a walkout by the Syrians. "Our solidarity with the struggle of the Syrian people against an oppressive regime that has lost its legitimacy is an ethical duty as it is a political and strategic necessity," Morsi said.

"We all have to announce our full solidarity with the struggle of those seeking freedom and justice in Syria, and translate this sympathy into a clear political vision that supports a peaceful transition to a democratic system of rule that reflects the demands of the Syrian people for freedom." Al Jazeera's Imran Khan, reporting from the summit, said: "Morsi's comments have caused an unease feeling, especially for the Iranians who are close to Syria."

It absolutely will not end. It will continue without the direction of Assad. Maybe the Alawite's may no longer be leading it against the Sunni majority and Christian minority but it will continue. Only now the Sunni may be leading it against the Alawite's who will continue to be armed and reinforced by Iran. The Russians will meanwhile have gone nowhere and the big unknown is the large Chinese military contingency in the area.

This is all about the future direction of the entire middle east. The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia (Al Qaeda?) at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!

The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new middle east (dis)order will take. Both Iran and Saudi Arabia have been using Lebanon and now Syria as their battlefront, up to now they have been able to avoid direct confrontation. Iran has pumped millions of dollars in supplies and arms into Lebanon and Syria much to the consternation of her suffering people while Saudi Arabia has been supporting the Palestinian Authority.

So far there has been no direct confrontation. However I absolutely see what I have been warning about since Bush diverted from Afghanistan to attack Iraq and get back in the middle east to create a new middle east (dis)order! I do not give a damn what anyone says. Bush, Cheney, and their Democratization program in an already historically unstable middle east set all of this and more in motion!

The hell on earth Bush created for Iraqi’s will engulf the entire Middle East before it encompasses the entire world if we can not contain it. Under Bush we broke a long standing tradition of not adding fuel to the Middle East fire by supplying weapons. We are now, including advanced weaponry and missile defense systems. The Middle East breakdown Bush started armed and funded is continuing under Obama. This up to now proxy war in the middle east is under way.

You know I firmly believe and have said so a million times by now that since 9/11 everything was construed to allow Bush to gain the power he needed to prosecute his new order not just in the Middle East but on the entire world! He diverted from Afghanistan to get back into the Middle East with the goal of setting up a larger safety zone for Israel and going after Iran. Both will fail! It has long been my contention that coming to Israel's aid once they attack Iran will be our in to Iran but with Iran, the Gulf, Syria, and everything else who knows what will happen first.

We must contain this to the middle east and keep it from turning into WW3. This must be a middle east fight and problem or the entire world is in dire trouble and we have too much already as we try to move successfully through the 21st century. I am afraid we are failing our children in every regard.

Symbolic gesture by King Abdullah to Ahmadinejad: Leaders of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which is meeting in Mecca, is expected to endorse the decision Wednesday to suspend Syria. This measure was adopted Monday at a preparatory meeting of the foreign ministers of 56 countries plus the Palestinian Authority. By providing a special place to the Iranian leader, the Saudi king has made an important gesture, analysts said.

Saudi television has broadcast the meeting at which Ahmadinejad, wearing a dark suit and a shirt without a tie, appeared seated to the left of King Abdullah.
"This is a message to the Iranian nation, but I imagine also to the Saudi people, telling them that we are Muslims and we must work together and forget our differences," said Abdallah al Chammari, an analyst of Saudi policy. Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shi'ite Iran are engaged for several years in a struggle for influence in the Middle East and their rivalry was exacerbated by the civil war in Syria.Wow, Ahmadinejad has been set up. Time to play your hand!

OIC suspends Syria over violent against rebels: The move had been approved on Monday at a preliminary meeting of OIC foreign ministers and was agreed on the summit's second night despite opposition from Iran. Saudi Arabia, the summit's host, has led Arab efforts to isolate Syria diplomatically and has backed calls for the Syrian rebel opposition to be armed, which Foreign Minister Saud al-Fasial described in February as "an excellent idea."

Saudi King Abdullah tried to conciliate Iran at the summit opening by placing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at his side to welcome Muslim leaders in a gesture Saudi political analysts said was aimed at putting old grievances aside in the quest for a resolution to the Syrian crisis.In his first published comments since the summit opened, Ahmadinejad appeared to rebuff the Saudi move.

Syrian Foreign Minster Walid Muallem accused fellow Muslim nations Thursday of being behind the bloodshed in his country after the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation suspended Damascus. The OIC announced after an emergency summit in Mecca Thursday that it had suspended Syria's membership of the 57-nation body, expressing "deep concern at the massacres and inhuman acts suffered by the Syrian people." The Arab League had suspended Syria in November.

Syria: Bomb Explodes Near UN Hotel In Damascus: Free Syrian Army commander says blast targeted a military meeting rather than the UN observer mission. A bomb has exploded in Damascus near a hotel used by UN observers, wounding at least three people, according to Syrian state TV.It said the bomb was planted on a fuel lorry. The blast was in the car park of a military compound near the Dama Rose Hotel, an AP reporter said. The hotel and a Labour Union building across the road were both damaged.
The rebel Free Syrian Army said it had targeted a meeting between army officers and members of the Shabiha, a pro-government militia. An opposition activist in the capital reported smoke rising from the scene and ambulances arriving to treat the wounded. None of the victims were believed to be members of the UN mission sent to Syria to monitor former special envoy Kofi Annan's six-point peace plan aimed at ending the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad's regime.

None of it really matters. Assad will not quit Syria and Iran and Russia is not going to abandon Assad and not just because they want to keep their influence in Syria and they know they will lose it if Assad and the Alawite's fall.

As Syria's fall gets closer I reiterate: The realities on the ground are that Iran is influencing and interfering everywhere they possibly can in order to stop what they think is the US getting its way. It has nothing to do with doing the right thing for Syria as a whole. It has everything to do with keeping the US, the West, and Arabs from having events in Syria go their way and not the way of Iran, Russia, China and the rest of their allies.

Russia's weapons are being used to slaughter the people and they brag about it. Those are the only weapons Russia will allow. French President Nicolas Sarkozy likened Syrian leader Bashar Assad to a "murderer" while Russia said it was arming his regime enabling him to slaughter his people.

The Syrian people are being sacrificed in this the opening volley not just in the middle east but in the world against US hegemony! That is the only reason Putin got himself back into the Russian Presidency. The sole goal is to finish what was started under him and George Bush when he was gathering forces amongst Russia, China, the 35 non aligned nations and anyone else interested in stopping our efforts to rule the world.

Hezbollah and Iran's IRG armed by Russia have taken the lead in slaughtering the Syrian people to keep them and Bashar Al assad in control. This is just the opening volley in the war against US hegemony. Sorry to say but those Syrian people are being sacrificed in an opening volley for the war for position to see who holds prominence as we try to move through the 21st century.

I remember saying a year ago that the Syrian protesters are the bravest in the world as they know they at the least are facing dedicated Syrian and Iranian Revolutionary Guard killers and now we find out we were right on and then some. I know the protesters vowed not to be deterred stating they will break the Government period but there is no way. The Syrian Government will kill and arrest who they have too. Iran will accept nothing less!

I remember the Syrian opposition saying that they would not stop and would ultimately defeat the Government saying Democratic transition would safeguard Syria from violence. As outsiders looking in we know nothing could be further from the truth. People are being imprisoned and murdered and I can not see that stopping until the Democracy movement is crushed. Supposedly this expected situation is begging for us to get involved but we damn well better not. Unless that is going to war with Iran is the goal.

I remember saying from day one that it would take almost the whole military to defect before they would have a chance and now that we know how involved Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are in the slaughtering that is going on around the country that is beginning to look like the beginning of their fight.

You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria especially. Russia, China, and Iran are not going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy. What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it. The total middle east breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

In closing: You know Putin just got himself reelected as President, he did this so he could be at the helm of Russia as he like me knows 100% that world war is our future. He plans on marshaling China who is rapidly building a more formidable military and whoever he can to take on US hegemony.Russia watched helplessly as we had our way in Libya. Putin blames what is happening in Syria on our interference and Libya for training the protesters to fight against Bashar Al-Assad.Russia and Iran will not let this be another Libya but at what expense?

Putin is going to do everything possible to keep us from helping the Syrian people and I really feel for them. I do not see this going down the way Libya did and Iran and Russia are going to make sure it does not. I am afraid the Syrian people are going to be sacrificed, sacrificed in what is merely an opening salvo in this the wars for future dominance. I just heard that Russia is gathering forces to go into Iran via Armenia for a quick strike through Georgia. We have a showdown setting up that looks disastrous for the worlds future. It will be a miracle if we can keep this from turning into WW3!

King Abdullah of Jordan, a close U.S. ally, Tuesday dismissed the Government and replaced his prime minister after protests over food prices and poor living conditions, naming a former premier with a military background to head the government.

Protesters crammed into Cairo's Tahrir Square demanding Mubaric to step down• Soldiers stand guard and helicopters hover • Major demonstrations planned in large cities • Government cuts internet service

Hosni Mubarak has agreed to step down but not to leave his country of Egypt. Will it be soon enough to placate the Islamists? Will the people accept Mubarac staying in Egypt? I think not but time will tell. Any way you look at it a tsunami of revolt has just begun to hit the Arab world.

The Muslim Brotherhood has told Sky News it is in talks with other opposition groups and the army about the removal of President Hosni Mubarak. This would not be good for the people. We should be very concerned of another Iran. So too must the Democracy hungry Egyptian's. They better start demanding that Mubarak step down and the Islamists leave so the people and the army can have their Democratic Egypt and not another Islamist country trying to destroy Israel the West, them and world order.

A new report by the U.S. Senate admits American government employees may not be safe (you mean will not) be safe in Iraq after the U.S. military leaves at the end of the year as planned. A pair of attacks killed an Iraqi electricity employee and a Shiite politician in Baghdad on Monday, authorities said. Nine others were wounded in a string of strikes across the Iraqi capital that appeared to take aim at government and security officials — a frequent target of militants

North Korea more of a nuclear threat than thought

I was very concerned that this entire mess in the middle east would take on a life of its own and our military would be left in the middle of it. Well it has happened. Are we smart enough to stay out of it? Or will we be dragged even deeper into it?

The middle east is exploding as we long said it would and anti Israeli anti US forces are trying to use it to their advantage. Israel is nervous as they should be with all their hedging at a real 2 state solution.

Across the Arab world, people living under the thumb of repressive leaders are rising up against the rulers who once seemed omnipotent. It is no coincidence these were all American allies! They are not quite sure what they want. But from North Africa to the Arabian Peninsula, they know they want change. And their wrath and their courage are creating a new form of Arab unity.

Bush's intention in attacking Iraq was to get our military back in the Middle East to help Israel establish a safety zone, create a new middle east (dis)order as God told him to, and to establish a permanent middle east presence. I was very concerned that this entire mess in the middle east would take on a life of its own and our military would be left in the middle of it. Well it has happened. Are we smart enough to stay out of it? Or will we be dragged even deeper into it? This all boils down in all interests to something I learned as a kid and that is "be careful what you ask for" You know what you have but you do not know what you're going to get"

In closing: You do not need me to tell you the entire world is in major disarray. Much of the world is running out of water, food, or both. The entire world is facing financial breakdown except for China who is fortifying her military. We all remember the lessons of the Great depression and the fact that when all is said and done world war two is what ultimately brought America and much of the world back to prosperity/ I do not like what I see ahead for us!

While Palestine Erupts, Iraq and middle east fails, An Important Idea to get info on missing U.S. Troops!

I really want to talk about Bush's successful Democracy as it appears to be erupting in civil war as we said it would just like his other successful Democracy in Iraq. I believe too that I have the way to get our troops back if at all possible, let me know what you think!

An Israeli air strike destroyed a Hamas compound in central Gaza City on Thursday, killing one and wounding at least 45 people. The strike came a day after 22 Palestinians were killed across Gaza City in the most widespread factional fighting in nearly a year between Hamas and Fatah. The raging street battles have turned the densely populated seaside city into a war zone, putting terrified civilians increasingly at risk.

The Israeli army confirmed it carried out the air strike, which came after Israel threatened "harsh" action in response to repeated Palestinian rocket attacks. So far this week, 49 Palestinians have been killed in the factional fighting. The violence has left the fragile Palestinian unity government in tatters, although Fatah and Hamas leaders have said they hope to preserve the coalition. A main goal of the alliance, formed in March, was to halt months of factional violence. But the unity deal never addressed a key area of dispute — control over Palestinian security forces.

Jordan's King Abdullah II said he was "very concerned" by the inter-Palestinian fighting and warned that more violence will follow unless progress is made in the peace process. "I'm very concerned about the violence in Gaza. It must stop for the sake of the Palestinian people and for the sake of Palestine," Abdullah told a gathering of Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian peace activists. http://www.foxnews.com/...

I hate to be the one to inform King Abdullah but nothing including Bush, the surge, Congress, nothing will stop the total collapse occurring in Iraq and now in Palestine. It will soon engulf the entire middle east and it will not be stopped. It will only get worse from there. Democracy middle east style! So for now I would like to focus on something we can help with and that is the three missing American troops. 

This is important to me as I have 2 sons over there myself and I will be sending this suggestion to my Congressman, Senator Kennedy. We appear to be doing everything possible in order to find the missing troops while failing to do the one thing that would work and I have yet to hear it mentioned as is usually the case today.

As the massive search for three U.S. soldiers feared captured by al-Qaida entered its sixth day Thursday, the military said militants who ambushed their convoy apparently stole the dog tags of one of the four Americans killed in the attack. About 4,000 U.S. troops and 2,000 Iraqis are searching for the three soldiers feared captured by al-Qaida during the ambush, which also killed one Iraqi soldier.

Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, commander of U.S. troops south of Baghdad, said the U.S. was offering rewards of up to $200,000 for information on the missing soldiers. "We've done so much as to drain canals after a report that the bodies were in a canal," Lynch told The Associated Press. "So we're leaving no stone unturned."

Lynch said he was optimistic the three would be found alive and I wish I shared that optimism. We must continue to search for our missing troops but An al-Qaida front group, the Islamic State of Iraq, has said it captured the U.S. soldiers and warned the Americans in a Web statement on Monday to call off the hunt "if you want their safety." http://www.washingtonpost.com/...

Again we have learned nothing. We will merely succeed in getting more Iraqi's murdered if they try to help us because they have to live there. Haven't we learned that Rewards regardless of how large do not work. The money is not their interest. Safety and practicing their Religion their way is all that is important.

Now tell me what you think about this idea please! I think the Reward is fine but it should be a little larger. The thing that would get more cooperation and results is that coupled with an irrevocable promise of U.S. citizenship and entrance into a Federal Witness Protection Program if our soldiers are returned alive.
