triple disaster costliest in history as Radiation from cracked reactor spreads: It will get worse

I am reposting this because It just dawned on me that this just keeps getting worse ans worse spreading radiation around the world through the oceans and around the world and our food supplies and no one talks about it as it keeps getting worse.

We are told one day Tokyo's water though 150 miles from the plants was not safe. A day later it is. Workers from the plant have heavy doses of radiation and are in the hospital, the plants are now out of danger, they keep getting worse. Q&A: Health risks I just heard of a neutron beam being seen at one plant. That can't be good?

Japanese nuclear officials fear crack in reactor core as radiation spreads

Radiation Spread From Crippled Japanese Nuclear Power Plant Continues

The Japanese government on Wednesday urged people not to eat 11 types of vegetable grown near the quake-hit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in northeast Japan after levels of radioactivity in the produces were found to have far exceeded legal limits.

Tokyo tap water not safe for infants, officials warn

Latest in Japan's quake, Tsunami, nuclear crises!Radiation in Tokyo's tap water spikes to twice the level acceptable for infants, though it remains safe for adults, according to officials. That adds to concerns about milk and produce from the area near the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear complex, including broccoli, which was put on the growing list of affected food

The status of six reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant

Japan estimated the cost of the damage from its devastating earthquake and tsunami could top $300 billion as authorities in Tokyo warned that babies should not be given tap water because of radiation from a crippled nuclear plant.

It appears that for the first time, the containment system around one of the Fukushima Daiichi reactors has been breached. As I said, I don't care what they say. This is going to be worse than Chernobyl. Japan is an island and about the size of California. Location, location, location. I am going to check out the latest now. In every regard things are moving so fast. Hope for the best plan for the worst. That is what I absolutely expected Japan had done. They of all people should know better than to take chances with a nuclear reactor let alone many. I understand we were warning them from the early 70's that their safety systems were inadequate

I understand we have been lied to from the beginning in order to keep the people and the world from panicking. I saw a program on the dire crisis facing Japan's elderly who are dying from lack of care and medicine as they lie huddled on gym floors. They are surrounded by destruction that as of yet has not begun to be cleaned up. The information on the reactors just gets worse and worse. The health effect on their water and food supply become more evident every day. I just heard the Pacific is being affected.

Good or bad it is time for the lying to stop and lay the truth out for the people of Japan and the world. This is the most expensive catastrophe in world history. We do not need it to become the worst disaster in world history.

Dr. Michio Kaku, Theoretical Physicist: Fukishima Daiichi Nuclear Facility is a "Ticking Time Bomb".

Dr. Michio Kaku, Theoretical Physicist: Fukishima Daiichi Nuclear Facility is a "Ticking Time Bomb". The Japanese government is trying to calm fears about radiation levels and food safety in the region around the heavily damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility, even as it has raised the severity rating of the crisis to the highest possible level. "Radiation is continuing to leak out of the reactors, the situation is not stable at all," We are talking meltdown of three reactors not one as in Chernobyl!

Europeans Warned To Avoid Drinking Milk Or Eating Vegetables Due To High Radiation Levels, the radiation risk from Fukushima is "no longer negligible," says CRIIRAD, the French research authority on radioactivity. It is now warning expectant mothers and young children to avoid drinking milk or rainwater. They should also avoid certain types of vegetables and cheese due to the dangerously high levels of radiation they may contain thanks to the radioactive fallout spreading across the globe

The operators of Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant say they are moving equipment to higher ground after a series of strong aftershocks that have hampered efforts to repair the crippled facility. The latest strong tremor came at about 6 a.m. local time Thursday, with a magnitude of 6.1. It was the fourth aftershock since Monday with a magnitude of 6 or greater and the 14th with a magnitude greater than 5. Hundreds of aftershocks have rattled Japan's northeastern coast since the massive 9.0 earthquake and tsunami on March 11 that knocked out the plant's cooling systems. They are afraid another big one is coming.

I reiterate for those that need or want it: Cement all 4 reactors and get on with it! Even Chernobyl was encased by now, what is Tepco and Japan waiting for?

The growing concerns of nearby South Korea and China about radioactive fallout from Japan were underscored when China's health ministry reported trace amounts of radioactive iodine in spinach in three Chinese provinces. Japan's fishermen and farmer's are more than angry that their livelihoods are being destroyed and receiving a mere apology.

Radioactivity from the Fukishima plants has now been detected throughout the US, Canada, Russia, Scotland, the UK, South Korea, around the world, this is an environmental catastrophe our frail planet did not need.!

This really concerns me because the crisis in Japan just keeps getting worse despite the lies. It had to cross the country to get here on the east coast of the United States. This is not the legacy Japan wanted to leave for its children nor the one I want for mine. I have been saying from the beginning that this was going to dwarf Chernobyl and it will. It was obvious they were lying from the beginning and they still are.

They found that #2 and #3 were leaking plutonium and uranium directly in the sea but don't worry it will be diluted. What? That reactor three is the only one of the 6 that uses the deadliest of the deadly, a mixture of plutonium and uranium. Now we are hearing there is another in as bad a shape and they are worried about another hydrogen explosion from #1.. Seal them in cement now before things get any worse. Chernobyl was a 7 now they are talking 7, eventually it will be a 10 or for which they of yet do not have a classification.

I was blown away that Chernobyl is now a vacation destination knowing how much they are still hiding and that 25 years later the Germans pay hunters half a million apiece for wild boars to keep them off the table as they are still radioactive. This is 4 reactors and will dwarf Chernobyl!

Radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster is still poisoning Germany's boars nearly 25 years on, with authorities fighting to keep toxic meat off the market as the wild boar population rockets. Besides all the other problems there is still a 35 square mile area around Chernobyl that is dead and off limits.

Video Simulation Of 3 Million Gallons Of Dumped Radioactive Water Spreading Through The Pacific, Don't worry?

We keep being told this will be diluted so don't worry but what our government doesn't seem to be telling people is about the cumulative effect. You don't repeatedly get x rays because it's not good for you, when technicians give x rays they shield themselves. Add up the radiation in the air, the water, the rain which falls on the crops that animals graze on it goes into the milk and the meat and it all adds up. Now there is a great concern that contamination will spread well beyond Japan's shores affecting seafood overseas that is expected to concentrate in the upper food chain.

Japan considers wider nuclear evacuation zone

S. Korea shuts schools amid Japan radiation fears

After notching a rare victory by stopping highly radioactive water from flowing into the Pacific, workers at Japan's flooded nuclear power complex turned to their next task early today: injecting nitrogen to prevent more hydrogen explosions.

Full Core Meltdown will Send Deadly Radiation Over The US: Don't forget there are three not one

Full Core Meltdown will Send Deadly Radiation Over The US

Also don't forget that Massive Japan Tsunami debris field approaching the west coast before it heads to Hawaii then back to Japan. Besides 200,000 houses and all the expected debris only God knows what else is in there. The floating debris will likely be carried by currents off of Japan toward Washington, Oregon and California before turning toward Hawaii and back again toward Asia, circulating in what is known as the North Pacific gyre

Iran's supreme leader says no nuclear retreat as we knew

Khamenei vows no retreat on nuclear programme Iran's supreme leader has said his country will continue to exercise its "nuclear rights" in a speech ahead of crucial talks in Geneva over Tehran's disputed nuclear programme.
Diplomats from the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany, are meeting Iranian negotiators, including the Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, for the third time in a little over a month on Wednesday in Geneva. In a rare, live televised address earlier in the day, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told commanders of the Basij force, a volunteer militia of young Iranians, that there would be no retreat for his country.

God gave Iran the right to nuclear power not the West

Iran offers 'new approach' in nuclear talks?

'Iran continues 20% enrichment'

Iran offers 'new approach' in nuclear talks: Talks between Iran and the U.N. atomic agency have gone into a second day after a senior Iranian envoy offered a "new approach" meant to end the deadlock over terms of a U.N. probe of suspicions Tehran worked on nuclear arms. Nearly two years of Iran-IAEA meetings have made little progress on launching the investigation by the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency. Iran denies working to develop nuclear weapons.

But chances of forward movement at Tuesday's round appear bolstered after Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced a new initiative from his country. Araghchi, who met IAEA chief Yukiya Amano Monday, gave no details of the Iranian proposal. Teheran denies working on — or interest in — atomic weapons.

20% enrichment will continue but we (Iran) have learned from the west to talk about it differently!

US Senate mulls tougher Iran sanctions

I refuse to believe that after all these times all these threats by us we are stupid enough to really think we can get Iran to bend to our wishes by easing sanctions. All these years all the insistence by Iran that they are going to continue with their nuclear ambitions and it is their God given right to have nuclear power period. We gave them the knowledge in the fifties and they have gone to far and are too close to stop now.

After all this time the Iranian Revolutionary guard further strengthened under Ahmadinejad is not going to give up their quest to control the middle east.
They are not going to loosen their grip, they are not going to stop anything. They have gone too far, the IRG has too much power, and they smell blood. They have been freed up from dealing with Iraq and are not going to stop ensuing their version of new Middle East order with the Shiite in the dominant role!

Ahmadinejad Will Gain From Sanctions, Iranian Official Says
On top of all the instigating Iran has done in every instance I am very concerned with her desire for nuclear weapons, her willingness to use them, and the fact that we gave Iran her nuclear start in the 50s. The nuclear program of Iran was launched in the 1950s with the help of the United States as part of the Atoms for Peace program.

[1] The support, encouragement and participation of the United States and Western European governments in Iran's nuclear program continued until the 1979 Islamic revolution that toppled the Shah of Iran. We are so concerned about Pakistan and Iran today in regard to nuclear abilities and nuclear weapons and security. I was blown away to find out that we built the first nuclear Reactors in both Iran and Pakistan. Iran's nuclear program

A reminder: As you know, when asked by a journalist how he felt upon returning to Iran in 1979 after 15 years in exile. Khomeini’s curt, one-word reply was “nothing” Whoa! From day one of his return to Iran Khomeini expressed no love for Iran only a love of the atom bomb. The drive even then was to possess a nuclear weapon though that desire is still denied until Iran can get their hands on one.

I have tried to give Iran the benefit of the doubt when they say their nuclear desires are peaceful knowing they could use nuclear power as an energy source for their growing population. I have always asserted that perceived need could be cover for the real goal of developing a nuclear weapon.

The current regime in Iran continues to up the ante inside and outside of Iran with militarism and nuclear concerns. They are antagonizing Israel, the US, and others in their quest for war to unite their country! Iran is not going to settle for world peace but instead inside and out they will settle for nothing less than dominance and will destroy the world to get it! Their route to get there alone has changed maybe. What say you?

Fukushima: Death by a thousand leaks one at a time

Tepco reports leaking pipe, four hot spots:  Tokyo Electric Power Co., manager of the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant, said Sunday it halted a highly radioactive water leak from a pipe connecting two storage tanks by patching it with tape just a day after stumbling upon a lethal radioactive hot spot.

Tepco has been unable to contain the growing volume of water used to cool three reactors hit by meltdowns after the massive earthquake and tsunami of March 2011, and the government has promised to play a greater role in the plant’s clean up. The discovery of the dripping pipe came a day after Tepco said it had found new hot spots at four sites near the water tanks, with one giving off 1.8 sieverts per hour — enough to kill a human being in four hours. They fix a fffing nuclear leak with a piece of tape? WTF?

Fukushima radiation levels 18 times higher than previously thought: The plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco), said radiation near the bottom of the tank measured 1,800 millisieverts an hour – high enough to kill an exposed person in four hours. Tepco said water levels inside the tank had not changed, indicating there had not been a leak. But the firm said it had yet to discover the cause of the radiation spike.

Last month, Tepco said another storage tank of the same design as the container causing concern this weekend had leaked 300 tonnes of radioactive water, possibly into the sea.Japan's nuclear watchdog confirmed last week it had raised the severity of that leak from level 1 – an "anomaly" – to level 3 – a "serious incident"

Radioactive plankton found near Fukushima plant: Researchers say high concentrations of radioactive caesium have been detected in plankton in the Pacific Ocean off the shattered Fukushima nuclear plant. The Fukushima nuclear plant was badly damaged in the March earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan, and has been leaking radiation ever since.

It is feared more radiation could now enter the food chain and you see it is. Research leader professor Takashi Ishimaru told Japan's NHK network sea currents had carried contaminated water south from the nuclear plant, heavily contaminating the plankton. A wide range of fish and other marine species feed on the plankton, leading to fears it could have a serious impact on the food chain.

Phytoplankton the enabler of all life: We are killing ourselves not just the oceans.

We are killing our oceans, we are killing ourselves and it is much worse then you realize. I always say "remember where life came from" we are killing the phytoplankton as you all may know by now but I for one had no idea how critical a role it played in mans life, all life, including the earth itself. Makes sense if you realize this planet and all life forms on it are all one.

Japan finds radiation in rice: News of the elevated radiation level in rice from Nihonmatsu city, 55 kilometers west of the nuclear plant, set off alarm in the Japanese media. The government has been testing vegetables and fish for radiation since the disaster, in which backup generators and cooling systems failed at the plant and the cores of three reactors melted.

It's Official Now - Fukushima Nuclear Radiation Found In US Food:
Update: Yet again Facebook censored our article, particularly in U.S. by deleting comments, wall posts and even forcing its user to enter security text code prior to posting the article link on their wall. Thanks to the jet stream air currents that flow across the Pacific Ocean, the U.S. is receiving a steady flow of radiation from Fukushima Daichi. And while many scientists say that the levels of contamination in food pose no significant threat to health, scientists are unable to establish any actual safe limit for radiation in food. Detection of radioactive iodine 131, which degrades rapidly, in California milk samples shows that the fallout from Japan is reaching the U.S. quickly."

"Milk, fruits and vegetables show trace amounts of radioactive isotopes from the Fukushima Daichi power plants, and the media appears to be paying scant attention, if any attention at all. It is as if the problem only involves Japan, not the vast Pacific Ocean, into which highly radioactive water has poured by the dozens of tons, and not into air currents and rainwater that carry radiation to U.S. soil and to the rest of the world."

S. Korea to shoot down N. Korea rocket if it strays

Obama Asks China To Help Halt N. Korean Rocket: President Obama came to South Korea to talk about global nuclear security with world leaders, but found himself trying to build a unified front against North Korea's planned rocket launch next month.

S. Korea to shoot down N. Korea rocket if it strays: South Korea is preparing to shoot down a North Korean rocket if it strays into the South's territory during a launch planned for next month, the defence ministry said Monday. The South Korean and US military are closely monitoring activity at the Tongchang-ri base, a ministry spokesman said, a day after Seoul confirmed the main body of a rocket had been moved to the site in the North's northwest.
Seoul is concerned that the first stage of the rocket, scheduled to drop into the Yellow Sea between South Korea and China, may fall onto the South's territory, the spokesman said.

N Korea, Iran to loom large over N-summit: The United States and others believe next month’s launch will test a long-range missile which could one day deliver an atomic warhead. Gary Samore, coordinator for arms control at the US National Security Council, warned that North Korea would face a “strong response” from Washington and its allies if it goes ahead with the launch. “We will be working with other countries, when President Obama is here (in Seoul), to try to discourage North Korea from going ahead with the proposed satellite launch,” he told South Korea’s Yonhap news agency on Friday.

The IAEA, while worried about nuclear proliferation by North Korea, also suspects that Iran is bent on making nuclear weapons. Iran says its uranium enrichment activities are peaceful. Neither Iran nor North Korea are on the formal agenda in Seoul. But leaders of five nations involved in stalled nuclear negotiations with the North — the United States, South Korea, China, Russia and Japan — will all be present, offering an opportunity for consultations.
Remember the axis of evil? axis of evil Definition

Obama warns N Korea over rocket launch:Obama flew on Sunday by helicopter to a US base on the edge of the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) to meet troops and take a first-hand look at one of the world's most heavily fortified frontiers.Obama and his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak held a joint press conference in Seoul later in the day where they once again called on North Korea to halt its nuclear weapons programme.

Obama also criticised North Korea's intention to conduct a rocket launch next month, saying: "This would constitute a direct violation of Pyongyang's own commitments and its international obligations. "Moreover it would only deepen North Korea's isolation, damage further its relations with its neighbours, and seriously undermine prospects of future negotiations. North Korea will achieve nothing by threats or provocations."

SEOUL: US President Barack Obama on Sunday urged China to use its influence to stop North Korea’s “bad behavior” in a nuclear standoff with the West and hinted at tougher sanctions if the reclusive state goes ahead with a rocket launch next month. Such a launch would only further isolate the impoverished North, which much show its sincerity if on-again-off-again six-party aid-for-disarmament talks are to restart, Obama said.

Seoul and Washington say the launch is a disguised test of ballistic missile. North Korea says it merely wants to put a satellite into orbit. Obama said that Beijing’s actions of “rewarding bad behavior (and) turning a blind eye to deliberate provocations” were obviously not working, adding he would raise the matter at a meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao on Monday.

China concerned by N Korea nuclear plans: The nuclear-armed North insists it will only put a satellite into orbit, while its opponents say it will test missile technology that could deliver a warhead. China, the North's sole major ally and its biggest trade partner and aid provider, is seen as one of the few nations that can influence the regime. Senior White House aide Ben Rhodes said Mr Hu indicated to Mr Obama that he took the North Korean nuclear standoff very seriously and was registering his concern with Pyongyang.

'Six to nine months' to deal with Japan nuclear crisis, OMG the Gulf of Mexico on steroids

Levels of radioactivity have risen sharply in seawater near a tsunami-crippled nuclear plant in northern Japan, possibly signaling new leaks ...

Cement all 4 reactors and get on with it!

Aerial video of the wave that hit Japan: Japan finally put Fukishima on the same level as Chernobyl but it will get much worse

This is the first picture I have seen from the air. I cannot imagine the force of this water and the devastation. When you see this, it's time to count your blessings. Aerial video of the wave that hit Japan.

Japan put its nuclear calamity on a par with the world's worst nuclear disaster, Chernobyl, on Tuesday after new data showed that more radiation leaked from its earthquake-crippled power plant in the early days of the crisis than first thought. No, we knew and there is worse to come!

Analysis: As bad as Chernobyl?

Life inside the evacuation zone

Q&A: Health effects of radiation

Looking at the Aerial video of the awesome destructive power of that Japanese Tsunami it is easy to understand the havoc raised at Fukishima, I just wish Tepco and or Japan would be honest about the damage done, the fact that some areas will never be able to be inhabited again, and the dangers to come.

Another magnitude 7.1 then a 6.4 earthquake as Japan finally admits Fukishima equal to or worse than Chernobyl

Audio slideshow: One month on

In pictures: Japan one month on

Japan on Monday expanded the evacuation zone around its crippled nuclear plant because of high levels of accumulated radiation, as a strong aftershock rattled the area one month after a quake and tsunami sparked the worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl.

Another magnitude 7.1 earthquake rattled the northeastern coast of Japan Monday evening, the US Geological Survey reported.

China expresses concern over growing Japan nuclear disaster "we are eating it now"

China said on Friday it was concerned at Japan pumping radioactive water into the sea from its crippled nuclear power plant, reflecting growing international unease at the month-long crisis triggered by a massive earthquake and tsunami.

Japan nuclear radiation including i-131, Caesium 134 and Caesium 137 are now being detected in a wide variety of foods being bought on store shelves in California and it isn't seafood. In the first food chain tests made public radioactive contamination was found in spinach, strawberries, topsoil, grass, and milk.

The incalculable cost of nuclear power

The incalculable cost of nuclear power

Cement failed as it would not solidify so they tried polymeric powder which is an absorbent and can soak up 50- times its own volume in liquid and was used in conjunction with 60 kilograms of sawdust and three bags of shredded newspaper, the agency said. efforts to soak up contaminated water still unsuccessful

Japan's government warned on Sunday it may take months to stop radiation leaking from a nuclear plant crippled by a huge earthquake and tsunami three weeks ago, as more bodies were recovered in devastated areas of northeast Japan.

It was found 25 miles out to sea and The isotope, cesium 137, was measured in one village by the International Atomic Energy Agency at a level exceeding the standard that the Soviet Union used as a gauge to recommend abandoning land surrounding the Chernobyl reactor, and at another location not precisely identified by the agency at more than double the Soviet standard.

Japan nuclear crisis not yet over:IAEA chief Environmental crisis not over? It's just beginning!

Concrete fails to plug leak at Fukushima nuclear plant Here we go again, what the hell is next golf balls and shredded tires? Remember the Gulf of Mexico? What the hell is wrong with man risking his life and the planet for a few bucks?

Radioactivity from the Fukishima plants has now been detected throughout the US, Canada, Russia, Scotland, the UK, South Korea, around the world, this is an environmental catastrophe our frail planet did not need.!
