Video Marijuana History 101: Pat Robertson: Marijuana Should Be Treated Like Alcohol He's right!

marijuana History 101

Pat Robertson: Marijuana Should Be Treated Like Alcohol: It isn’t every day that Pat Robertson says things that’ll endear himself to libertarians. But the prominent televangelist means it when he says that marijuana shouldn’t be viewed differently than alcohol. That was what Robertson conveyed in a new interview with the New York Times. “If people can go into a liquor store and buy a bottle of alcohol and drink it at home legally, then why do we say that the use of this other substance is somehow criminal?” he said.

Robertson’s stance isn’t new, as the newspaper notes. In 2010, he said as much on his show The 700 Club, remarking that ”I’m not exactly for the use of drugs, don’t get me wrong, but I just believe that criminalizing marijuana, criminalizing the possession of a few ounces of pot, that kinda thing it’s just, it’s costing us a fortune and it’s ruining young people.”

1619 order for every member of Jamestown to grow marijuana.

How many people realize that the first law written within the borders of what we call the United States was a 1619 order for every member of Jamestown to grow marijuana. Watch the documentary "The Union - The Business Behind Getting High". It is one of the best documentaries on the subject ever made.

The first 2 copies of the Declaration of Independence were printed on Hemp! Benjamin Franklin used Hemp to start Americas first paper mills. It was once legal and one of the largest crops in the world. The majority of fabrics, lighting oil, medicines, paper, and fiber. Hemp was touted as a billion dollar crop in the 19th century and its unparalleled universality made it a target of other sources. It produced more than 5000 products from its thread and 25000 from its cellulose including dynamite and cellophane.

They made it illegal because it was the most widely used product in the world and would interfere with other products and diversity. WW2 brought the necessity that it be legalized ounce again as there was so much of it , its wide use, and its abundance. WW2 ended and once again it was made illegal to protect other industries and interests.

Even though illegal according to official Government figures The value of the annual harvest exceeds that of corn, soybeans, or hay, the country's top three legal cash crops with an annual crop value of $35 Billion. There have been an estimated 100 million pot plants destroyed between 1981 and 2006 yet production has still increased 10 fold to 22 million pounds! Marijuana is the countries number one cash crop

While California, Tennessee, Kentucky, Hawaii, and Washington are the top producing states, pot is the top cash crop in 12 states and among the top three in 30 states. "There is a lot of demand for marijuana in the US, and it's only natural that production would increase here,"Marijuana is the countries number one cash crop, legalize it nation wide and collect the much needed taxes.

Legalize marijuana, follow California's example, secure the border! Just imagine what it would be if it was legalized. Regulate it like alcohol, sell it in package stores! Tax it! Look at the potential revenue. Legalizing marijuana would end a hell of a lot of problems and create exactly zero! Think about it! We can really use this phenomenal product, think about it!

The number one abused drug in the world is legal, Alcohol! It destroys numerous lives! What sane argument is there against legalization? None, none whatsoever! All we are doing with this insane war on drugs is driving people and not just kids to experiment and find a legal way to get high with common household products. We are only making the problem exponentially worse. END IT! LEGALIZE! All States!

Mornin Jim, thanx for the read ... never thought I would agree with Pat Robertson, but never listened to much of him either. Pot is something I'm like an encyclopedia on, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh year's back we were moving pot in the truckload's, we had to shrink vacumm pack the key's it was so strong a stench, coming from the trailer even doing 60 mph! Statute a limitation's protect's any thing I say here. But for a short time also year's back I was moving some, the quantities were more than I even seen in my life ... bale's stacked 6 to 8 ft deep in storage/ warehouse, etc Had some friend's here in Teaxs who were creating/ cultivating large hydro indoor farm's/ houses, using water and electricity instead of soil, etc. The illegality game is all business and politic's and also year's ago the cotton industry of place's like Texas had alot of say so in it, because it could put them out of business. The court's in America, even in state's where you have legal medical use make a fortune off it being illegal, mostly fine's and probationary term's, court cost's, etc ... it's a milking scam. You have lawyer's that strictly handle plea bargain cases on this one item and do nothing else and rake in big annual salaries off it too ... it's such a huge money maker for some keeping it illegal ... when they do legalize for med use or whatever, it has alot of fine detail's on use and cultivation and distribution, which is all dictated by the same entities. Long story Jim ... you know the score though.

Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh ... I dont even have to smoke pot to tell the quality, I can just analyze the bud's and smell the inner bud and almost pinpoint what grade it is, if it was hydo cultivated, dirtweed, mountain grown, central American, etc, etc ... I have dealt with so many grade's ... it's something I know well ... cocaine the same thing ... I can look and feel and determine alot about the grade and cut's. Black tar heroin, opium, etc, etc. These new designer parma drug's though I dont know much about as far as that, but they are a huge black market as well. For me "pot" is part of Americana, as apple pie and baseball ... it's like a tradition as well of the Lone Star State just like barbeque and Lone Star Beer : )

It would be fair to have it just legalized and it would raise also alot of local revenue's ... but the folk's also who dont want to see it legal to that extent in particular is those I mentioned above and those who deal and move it on the black market ... it is a major commidity of the good guy's and the bad guy's ... heh, heh, heh, heh, heh.

Later Jim ... were fixin to get some heavy storm's moving into the Metroplex this morning.

You could legalize it but would that really make for increased revenue? I'm sure at first it might but seeing as how anybody could grow it, the demand for state sponsored and taxed product would decline. It could only be effectively done if it were illegal to grow it much like moonshine.
