The world economy is beset by problems such as high unemployment and rising prices : 11 countries to think about following Egypt

The world economy is beset by problems such as high unemployment and rising prices which could fuel trade protectionism and even lead to war within nations, the head of the International Monetary Fund warned on Tuesday. You can count on it and look at the way things are shaping up!

With that in mind as well as your own countries financial condition and what is is happening in the Middle East and Africa look at this list of 11 countries that for one reason or the other could follow Egypt. At least on has already tried and failed and in my mind with the brutal ruling regime, will fail again.

The violent economic and food riots in Tunisia and Algeria show just how quickly things can change. Just a few months ago, these two northern Africa nations were considered to be very stable, very peaceful and without any major problems. As we discussed numerous times in this economic disaster it is the poor and the poor nations that will feel it and go down first. That is Africa, the middle east, at this point most of the world, and I am sorry to say yes the Muslims and they are vulnerable to the Islamists and their empty promises.

I started discussing the growing food wars and the water wars a couple years back. Wait until they go through the poorer countries and hit us! Food Riots 2011

world wide water wars 1/24/08

Anyway, look at this list of 11 nations most likely to follow Egypt and tell me what you think. First I must say that many who looked at this felt the US should be on this list and on the top. Being an American I will tell you why they are not on the list and that is because most Americans these days are sheep and will tolerate everything until it kills them and will never revolt.

Tell me what you think: Morocco: Reforms are already lined up

Jordan: King Abdullah tries to get ahead of the crisis

Syria: President pushing for reform already

Saudi Arabia whose massive military strength may be enough to quell social dissent

Iran: Could things kick off again in Tehran? Maybe they could but I do not think the people have the stomach any longer for the torture and brutality the regime will rain on them in order to keep their fascist agenda on track.

Libya: Time may be running out for Gaddafi and I can agree with that sentiment.

Yemen: Serious unemployment problem and an Al Qaeda threat. Yemen as you know is already threatening but I do not sense the stomach in the people!

Pakistan: Democracy under threat as state remains unstable and it seems to be purposely more so regularly. Pakistan has long concerned me because of their nuclear weapons and their borders with India and Afghanistan.

Vietnam: A sharp recession could lead to opposition against Communist rule

Venezuela: Has Hugo Chavez outstayed his welcome?

China: Could a severe economic downturn derail the Chinese regime?

China I absolutely disagree with even if their economy goes south and the people starve because of the spine of the people and the fact that the Government would easily put them down. Please check out the link and read about the conditions that have put them on this list. Wall street cheat sheet

In closing: You do not need me to tell you the entire world is in major disarray. Much of the world is running out of water, food, or both. The entire world is facing financial breakdown at the same time China is fortifying her substantial military. We all remember the lessons of the Great depression and the fact that when all is said and done world war two is what ultimately brought America and much of the world back to prosperity/ I do not like what I see ahead for us!

The entire world has already broken down it's just a matter of who will create the lies to go after one another? I see it as merely an economic imbalance with too few having too much of the wealth. But one of the true problems is speculators who artificially drive up the prices.
Sorry but I just don't have the time to read all the links but that's my two cents. In any process it's about balance. Too much rain =floods. Too little rain = drought. I think you get the picture. Let's hope we survive the rebalance.

Demeur I don't know what to say other then you're right as you know and I agree also with surviving it. I saw another list of African and middle eastern countries at risk but I let it go because we know it is the entire world.

I'm skeptical about China and Vietnam being in dire straits and unstable. Chavez, unfortunately, has oil income to keep him in power, and that income is on an up escalator.

Otherwise, yes, the wake of a major economic meltdown, with speculators free to do their worst and ripple effects spreading far and wide, you have a formula for turmoil and even revolution in many places. How many regimes will actually go down remains to be seen.

In most upheavals, at least, I hope the U.S. will pass on the inclination to meddle. It's been done too much, too often contributing to a bad outcome.

Since I've lost my faith in this country, I'll bet whomever the U.S. backs will be the wrong pony in the race. After all these years Nation Building you would think we'd be better at it.

Hi S. W. I am too but this is from an economic stand point(we all know Wall Streets record) of which no one is secure. Both China and Ven. have already had their problems and I have heard other rumors so I thought I would put it out for thought.

Tim you know I feel the same way. Every single time we have interfered it bites us in the Ass. We won't learn, we just keep digging till it caves in on us and it is.
