Taliban 'kill adulterous Afghan couple' in marketplace, Afghani's better wake up and quick, this is their future unless they revolt

The Taliban operates a shadow government, consisting of judges, tax collectors, district governors and commanders, in several parts of Kunduz. A man and a woman who allegedly had an adulterous affair have been stoned and killed in the northern Afghan province of Kunduz. The punishment happened in a crowded bazaar on Sunday in the Taliban-controlled village of Mullah Quli.

It shows that they [the Taliban] want to create a climate of fear. The woman was only 23 and the man 28. They were smart to flee but stupid to return after a Jirga met and declared they could return if compensation was paid. They stoned them both killing the woman and the man lived so they shot him 3 times in the head. This month the Taliban also reportedly flogged and killed a pregnant widow in western Baghdis province. The Taliban warned villagers if anyone does anything un-Islamic, this will be their fate.''

Those people better wake up and quick! Afghanistan's giant private security industry, which guards everything from western embassies to Nato supply convoys, is set to be scrapped within four months under dramatic new plans from Hamid Karzai.

Afghan citizens better wake up and realize they better help defeat the Taliban at any cost unless they want a return to Sharia Law brutality and public beheading. Remember when the Taliban met out their brutal laws in public in the sports stadium with public floggings, beheading, and amputations of men women and children? Afghan civilians better realize they are in serious trouble if the Taliban get back in control of Afghanistan.

civilian deaths up 31% because of the Taliban From the for what its worth department Afghan Taliban Call for Joint Probe Into Civilian Deaths

They better step up, they are the enemy too, not just Christians and doctors trying to help them. Remember just a few weeks back
Taliban leader Mullah Omar ordered Taliban fighters to kill Afghan civilians, contradicting orders he issued last year. Remember that farce they called a code of conduct to protect civilians. Yes civilians are dying from both sides. As usual they get the shit end of the stick!

In a statement NATO said it intercepted orders that Mullah Omar gave to subordinate commanders at the beginning of June. It says he instructed fighters to kill Afghans who work with NATO or the Afghan government, and to kill women who provide information to coalition forces. I have to ask what's changed really?

There was no immediate reaction to the claim from Taliban leaders but since they have said themselves they would kill anyone they think is a threat to them as they killed those Doctors as spies for the west. NATO says Mullah Omar ordered the Taliban to kill civilians

More than 1,000 Afghan civilians were killed in armed violence and security incidents in the first six months of 2010, a new Afghan study says. Afghanistan Rights Monitor says 1,074 civilians were killed between January and June - a slight increase compared with the same period in 2009. However, the number of people killed in NATO air strikes in the same period has halved, the report says. Changes to rules of engagement helped reduce that figure, the report says. Afghanistan civilian casualties on the rise compliments of Mullah Omar

We managed to lower the number of civilians killed so Mullah Omar has ordered the Taliban to kill as many as possible. I would hope the civilians in turn, turn on them. Their lives are on the line. They have got to stand up! The Taliban was on a public relations drive. The militants fighting on fronts from Afghanistan to Pakistan feared they were losing the propaganda war among their own people so the leadership released a new "code of conduct" for fighters in the field.

This new code of conduct is a death threat to all Afghan civilians by Mullah Omar and the Taliban, those that want to control them. They better read the writing on the wall and do something about outing Mullah Omar and the militant Taliban if it is even possible. The mentality around the world has always been if you do not win the people you can not win the war. The Taliban have proven they do not care about the people. They will kill them and those that try to help them.

I have said frequently that civilians in Pakistan have formed Lashkars (civilian militia) and have taken on the Taliban and Afghan tribes and civilians better do the same thing. We should get out give them food and supplies and monitor the situation with drones. See if the people and the Government will stand up or be kowtowed by the Taliban. They must see the choice before them.

They better Tom they are on the menu too. I refuse to believe they do not understand the nature of that beast and what they did to them in the past and will do again in the future.

Jim, the sad thing is that, as bad as it is, it's the devil they know. Such practices have been part of Pashtun culture since the time of Alexander the Great. Harsh as it is, many Afghanis see the cruelly harsh but unbiased sharia as administered by the Taliban as preferable to the judgment to the highest bidder offered by Bush puppet Karzai.

Hi Tom! I know, they have been there before but they can avoid that harsh treatment by getting rid of the Taliban but what will they get? I just wish we would get the hell out of there but we aren't smart enough. WTF?

Here's the thing. The moronic monkey drove the Taliban out, and then turned his back on the Afghanis. The Afghanis suddenly found themselves at the mercy of local drug kingpins, who put many of them to work as indentured servants on their poppy plantations. When you couple the near-enslavement of millions of Afghanis with the naked corruption of Hamid Karzai's puppet state, you have a measurable number of Afghanis willing to allow the Taliban to return-with the Taliban, they at least knew where they stood and what the rules were.

As sad as it might make us here on this side of the world, the simple fact of the matter is that Chimpy's negligence and cronyism has probably made it impossible for us to ever regain any trust among the Afghanis. They now remember the "stability" of the Taliban with a lot of the nostalgia that fed-up Russians have for the law and order of Joseph Stalin. I don't think that we can change that now; we will have to leave it behind us and let them hammer it out among themselves.

These people may have guns and other weapons but there still a thousand years behind us. There's nothing we can do for them. In my opinion we better start cleaning up our own messes.

That's just it. The Taliban gives then unbiased judgement coupled with cruelty. Karzai gives them corrupt judgment or no judgment at all. The Afghanis have no good choice available.

Yes JR Bush did this like everything else that is wrong today. That is why I get pissed at people saying get over him. We will never get over that scum we and the entire world will be suffering from his damage for generations. Screw them Republicans saying stop crying about Bush. They better dig that home instead!

Tim they do not want a Democracy we do and we do not matter. They are tribal they fight and die for a living that won't change. We fight there so we do not have to deal with our own societally destructive calamities.

Tom I remember when Karzai was caught rigging ballots and the people just said one corrupt leader is the same as the next.
