Corruption around the world worsens every year

 No EU country escapes corruption, study finds:  Readers would be looking in vain if they scour the EU Commission's lengthy report for a list that shows which countries in the European Union are most corrupt and which are doing the best job of combating bribery and other sources of unfair influence. In the report she headed, EU Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmström refused to hand out grades for the 28 member states.

"It gives a frank assessment on how each member state tackles corruption, how existing laws and policies work in practice, and we suggest also how each member state can step up their work against corruption," Malmström told DW. The European Commission does point out after its 28 individual reports that there is a divide between the North and the South and also between the East and the West.

  * Corruption worsens in world's conflict :  Some of the world's most tumultuous countries suffered setbacks this year in the fight against corruption, with civil war-torn Syria among the pack of nations increasingly at the mercy of bribe-takers and influence-peddlers, Transparency International reported Tuesday in its annual corruption survey.

 Notable in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2013 was how little improvement was recorded in even the most open and law-abiding countries. The bottom rung of this year's index was stubbornly unreformed, with Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia each matching last year's three-way tie for the most corrupt government with 8-point ratings.

l*  Five Arab states top the most corrupt list:  Syria, Iraq, Libya, Somalia and Sudan all scored less than 20, as their governments deal with massive instability in the face of civil war and armed groups, or nations where the lead researcher of the study said the regime is not "functioning effectively"."Corruption is very much linked to countries that fall apart, as you see in Libya, Syria, two of the countries that deteriorated the most," Finn Heinrich told AFP news agency.

Iraq election deadlock breaks world record

Afghanistan sank in new corruption ranking in 2009 as US, World Leaders Fell Short in their so called Corruption Fight Group Says! I hate to tell them but corruption is the goal not the fight. I am sorry to say that since Bush we have set a disgusting example of democracy for the world to follow and they are.

It tok 3 months to ratify Iraq's election because of corruption. The main Shia coalition said it had only now decided to nominate the incumbent Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, for a second term of office but the National Alliance, a merger of Mr Maliki's State of Law coalition and the Iraqi National Alliance of the radical Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr is four seats short of the parliamentary majority needed to confirm the appointment.

The secular Iraqiya bloc led by former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, which narrowly won the election, has said it will oppose such a move. So far it has been 222 days and you can bet there is no end in sight as no one wants to be the minority. This will go a year at least and will only end with their civil war Sunni against Shiite and don't forget the Kurds!

Last year "1979" Bush's success Iraq ranked 176 and Afghanistan's level of corruption earned it a ranking of 179 out of 180 Nations listed, worsened only by Somalia who is ranked as the most corrupt nation on earth. That is not much to be proud of! Britain is 17th and the US is 19th, Cuba is 64th and Mexico 89th. Afghanistan has Iraq Burma Haiti and the likes of Burundi for company on the bottom of the list. Afghanistan sank in new corruption ranking I have to wonder where this most recent distinction now puts Iraq?

What bothers me about the list is that recent efforts at forcing Democracy on Nations by Bush and now Obama we know as failure but it is illustrated here. I know corruption has been around since the beginning of society and man. However, with the advent of George W and his corrupt underhanded Government in what he called an example of Democracy to be exported around the world the corruption and stolen power became the new standard. Britain slippped to new low in ranking of most corrupt countries‎

US, World Leaders Fall Short in Corruption Fight, Group Says It's a losing battle and it will get worse as the new message in today's so called democracies and most countries is to take what you can and do what you have to to better yourself and get what you want.

Bush used what I coined as 3D politics taught by Karl Rove to achieve their goals. (3D politics = Deceitful, deceptive, divisive politics) It seems in every election in every country now we hear cries of fraud and corruption not just here in the US and more visibly in Iran during the June Presidential election. Why should we expect Afghanistan or anyone else to be any different? Check where your country ranks in the corruption index

Look at the example we have set for others to follow. I remember the feeling of shame when GW had the audacity to tell China they should aspire to a US style Democracy seeing our own broadcast daily corruption in what many of us believed was no longer a Democracy. Under Bush we became a Democracy in name only and were exporting that not just in the Middle East but around the world.

Stealing elections and corruptions is the standard in the world now. The destruction Bush rained on the US and world balance along with the example he set for the world to follow will affect the entire world for generations if not forever. That is why I can not forget what Bush did and people often tell me to get over it. He made sure he will go down in history!

It is now obvious the target for Bush's missile Defense System is Russia!

 Romania starts building its end of anti Russian missile defence shield

Romania starts work on US missile defense base: The Missile Defense Facility will be maintained by US service personnel and house SM-3 interceptor missiles as well as radar equipment.

Russia is concerned that the missile system could be used against Russian interests. Moscow has threatened to aim a new generation of missiles at European military targets and deploy its own missile interceptors.

What's next now? Knowing that in the past Russia had expressed their anger over the missile Defence system proposed for Poland and Czechoslovakia and at one point to counter this proposal even offered to have them housed on their soil. Of course this offer was turned down as was the offer by Britain to have them on their soil.

The Bush line was that these systems are needed to counter the threat from Iran and North Korea. That sounds absolutely ludicrous if you ask me. In response to Bush's refusal to not deploy the systems Russia countered when President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia would suspend its compliance with a treaty on conventional arms in Europe that was forged at the end of the Cold War.

Instead, Putin said, the Kremlin would use future compliance with the treaty as a bargaining point in the dispute with United States over its proposals to install missile defences in Europe. Can you blame them?

Putin's announcement, made in his annual address to Parliament, underscored the Kremlin's anger at Washington for proposing a new missile-defense system, which the Bush administration and now Obama  insists is meant to counter potential threats from North Korea and Iran. But Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice brusquely dismissed Russian protests, saying the missile-defense system the United States plans to install in Poland and the Czech Republic would pose no danger to the security of Russia. http://www.iht.com/...
 
I thought quite to the contrary! What they are proposing to set up are boost phase interceptors--missiles that target a missile during it's relatively slow lift-off stage while it's still in the atmosphere.

 To accomplish a take down, the chase missile has to take off within 50 seconds--i.e. it has to be in relatively close proximity to the missile it wants to take down. That's why the argument that missiles in Poland and Romania  are supposed to deal with missiles coming from Iran or North Korea is nonsensical. Condi using the word nonsense against Russia gives the game away. They always ascribed their own motivation to others.

Looking at today's statement that Russia cannot alter a U.S. plan to set up a missile defense system in nearby Poland, a senior U.S. official said in an interview published on Wednesday that is likely to stoke Russia's anger over the project. Russia is enraged! "We have listened to them but they have been so intransigent in their position that most NATO allies now support our proposal," he added.

6 years ago U.S. Under secretary of State Nicholas Burns said Russian fears were unjustified as the project was purely defensive and could not be modified to launch attack missiles. He said Russia must remember they are not part of NATO and therefore have no say in the matter. what? http://www.reuters.com/...
 
These statements by Burns just told ignorant little me that while these systems could not be modified but they were solely to neutralize any interference by Russia in our plans. The only result of these rising tensions and the purposeful politics of confrontation practiced by the U.S. is to bring us closer to WW3 and our goal of what we think will be our version of new world order. These are my thoughts on the worsening situation, what are yours?
