THE US Government was closely involved in the planning of Israel's military operations against Islamic militant group Hezbollah even before the July 12 kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers, The New Yorker magazine reported in its latest issue.
Pulitzer Prize-winning US journalist Seymour Hersh writes that US President George W.Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney were convinced that a successful Israeli bombing campaign against Hezbollah could ease Israel's security concerns and also serve as a prelude to a potential US pre-emptive attack to destroy Iran's nuclear installations. Iraq taught them nothing! http://www.news.com.au/...
Finding out that the U.S. helped plan the attack on Lebanon does not bode well for Israel, the U.S., and the future of the middle east. That said, Israel, Lebanon, and Hezbollah have now agreed on the cease fire. However, with all the terms that must be met by all parties, it will not be kept!
Before she raised her hand to vote for the proposal, Rice said the time had come "to build a more hopeful future" in the region.
But the future of the Middle East may be markedly different as a result of the bloody drama that erupted July 12 after the seizure of two Israeli soldiers by Lebanon's Shiite militia. So, too, the image of the United States. What many now consider to be the sixth modern Middle East war has some distinct winners and losers, interviews with a range of former U.S. officials and Middle East analysts reveal.
I disagee with the article seying the outcome will be long debated. It wii not be! It is already obvious and will get much worse! Big losers at this stage appear to be Israel's government, the Lebanese people, and the Bush administration's struggle against terrorism and its campaign for democracy, these observers said.
In waging the longest Arab war against Israel, the big winner may be Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah -- for now. And political futures will shift!

We have said from the beginning that Hezbollah would be stronger in the end, it will not be as a result of this cease fire and no one will like this new middle east (dis)order! http://www.dailykos.com/...
With all that said, this is much more at stake than political careers and a new middle east order! Remember Al Gore and an inconvenient truth? That should be the prime concern and no one seems to care what will be left!
There is so much more at stake than new order in the middle east! Realize this!
The nurturing stage is where man should be in his and the planets Life Cycle! However as the current unfolding middle east and world situation is proving, man is attempting to turn the clock back and nature works only in one direction, forward. We are acting like we are in the infantile stage and it will not work!
* The Nurturing Stage - This is mans mature stage. This is mans preservation period. The time is now. This period marks mans awakening as to the realization of mans negative impact on the life sustaining life cycle of the planet as a whole.
This period marks the awakening of man as to the as to the necessity of revitalizing Natures life sustaining ecosystems. This period marks the necessity for an end to all out war. We must come to the realization that as a world we must destroy all advanced weaponry and their systems throughout the world. This is an absolute necessity for the survival of man and the planet. We must form a world board to ensure compliance by the entire world. It is for the benefit and survival of mankind and the planet. We now know the fragility of our planet and our negative role in it. As a world we must act responsibly, be held accountable, and act accordingly.
* Man has taken his ability to live and learn, an ability that has sustained and nurtured him for thousand of years and forgotten he ever had it. It had served us well throughout are creativity.
Through the beginning of the 20th century man has been going through the maturity stages of his existence. Like a maturing teenager man now thinks he has all the answers. However he has none of the right ones.
Would you send your Grandmother off to war? That is something you can relate to. Likewise man and the planet can not survive a world war this late in the life cycle of man and the planet. Whoever ushers in a new world war must be held personally accountable for knowingly and unwittingly bring about the end of the civilized world and our planet.
Whether you believe in Nostradamus or not, he gave us two scenarios at this juncture in life. We had two roads we could follow into the future. We could take the peaceful road down a successful road into the future or we could take the road into conflict that would lead to destruction of man and the planet as we know them.
Sadly man seems to have chosen the 2nd road and with nuclear conflagration staring us in the face: We seem to be leading the way to our demise! If we are to have a future we must smarten up! It isn't just about the middle east! The full short story at the link!

Hi KV
Yes it does! What stinks is that Israel and Bush think they are going to get their idea of a new middle east order. Iran and all other Islamists want theres and no one will get what they want and the issue seems like it will never be settled. Certainly not diplomatically! It only gets worse from there.Take care!
