Lebanon's prime minister says deadly Beirut car bombing has links to the crisis in Sria: Investigators collected evidence at the site of a bomb attack in the Ashrafieh area of Lebanon's capital, Beirut. Wissam al-Hassan, a prominent Lebanese intelligence official opposed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and at least seven other people were killed in the blast on Friday.

 

Iran speaks out against the bombing but blames it on Israel. The prominent Labanese official killed though led the Lebanese opposition against Bashar Al assad so I would expect that Iran's Quds forces did it.

Sayda also said that Hassan’s assassination was linked to the “crime of ex-Information Minister Michel Samaha and [Syrian] officer Ali Mamluk. The SNC chief also said that the Syrian regime was working on destabilizing the region and would conduct more assassinations in Lebanon. Hassan was killed on Friday in a huge explosion that rocked the Beirut area of Ashrafieh

 

 Anti-Syria Rally Held in Lebanon on 'Day of Rage' Over Bombing: Thousands of supporters of Lebanon’s opposition March 14 coalition poured into Beirut for today’s funeral of an assassinated security official and for a “day of rage” against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Brigadier General Wissam al- Hassan. Al-Hassan, who headed the information branch of the Internal Security Forces, had investigated several bombings and plots that the March 14 group blamed on the Syrian regime. 

Three people died and 126 were injured in the explosion that killed al-Hassan, according to a final casualty count carried by Lebanon’s official National News Agency. The recent violence has raised concerns about a possible spillover of the conflict in neighboring Syria. March 14 supporters gathered at the rally’s venue in Beirut’s Martyrs’ Square, waving Lebanon’s flag and that of the Syrian rebels fighting Assad’s government. “We’re expressing our support for the Syrian people and opposition to Bashar,” said Ali Majzoub, 16, holding the rebel Syrian flag.

Russia watched helplessly as we had our way in Libya. Putin blames what is happening in Syria on our interference and Libya for training the protesters to fight against Bashar Al-Assad.

Putin is going to do everything possible to keep us from helping the Syrian people and I really feel for them. I do not see this going down the way Libya did and Iran and Russia are going to make sure it does not.

 I am afraid the Syrian people are going to be sacrificed, sacrificed in what is merely an opening salvo in this the wars for future dominance. I  heard that Russia is gathering forces to go into Iran via Armenia for a quick strike through Georgia. 
We have a showdown setting up that looks disastrous for the worlds future. It will be a miracle if we can keep this from turning into WW3!

Turkey Forces a Syria-Bound Plane From Moscow to Land: Turkish F-16 jets forced a passenger plane traveling from Moscow to Damascus to land yesterday after intelligence reports said it was carrying cargo banned by civil aviation rules, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.

The plane was carrying about 30 passengers and some cargo that it didn’t report, Davutoglu said in an interview broadcast by TGRT television from Athens, without specifying what the equipment was. 

U.S. secret mission sent to Jordan for controlling Syrian chemical weapons: Syrian opposition fighters have taken control of Maarat al-Numan, a strategic town in Idlib province on the highway linking Damascus with the commercial hub of Aleppo, activists say.
 

"Regular forces pulled back from all of their checkpoints around Maarat al-Numan, except for one at the entrance of the town," Rami Abdel Rahman, a UK-based activist who gets information from a network of sources on the ground in Syria, said on Tuesday. "This is a strategic location on the route from Damascus to Aleppo. All the regime reinforcements headed to Aleppo must pass through Maarat al-Numan.

 U.S. secret mission sent to Jordan for controlling Syrian chemical weapons: The secret mission, led by a senior American officer, will also help in handling the estimated 180,000 Syrian refugees who have crossed the border and are severely straining the country’s resources, the report said. The task force is based at a Jordanian military training center built into an old rock quarry north of Amman.

According to the report, U.S. officials familiar with the operation said the mission includes drawing up plans to try to insulate Jordan, a strong U.S., from the upheaval in Syria and to avoid the kind of clashes now occurring along the border of Syria and Turkey. “We have been working closely with our Jordanian partners on a variety of issues related to Syria for some time now,”

You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria. I still have a problem believing Russia, China, and Iran are  going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy. 

What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it.

NATO vows to come to Turkey's aid as China warns against instigating war
