World wide Civil war, the worlds future
Afghanistan more than duplicates Nam as it is Vietnam on steroids in every single respect.
We lied and created the fiasco in Nam as we have in Afghanistan. We created North and South Vietnam not the Vietnamese.
Once again this time in Afghanistan we are propping up another puppet regime. We could have gotten right out of Afghanistan as we succeeded on our originally declared mission long ago.
We seem to have nothing left in America but this corruptive war economy and are keeping the wars going for illicit gains.
I do not like what we see. We are determined to join Afghanistan's graveyard of Nations but we better get the hell out of there because I have said it for years and you can see it now but these wars are barely beginning.
I call it Bush's forever war but in reality it is Cheney, Rummy, and Rove who fostered it for those powers really behind the right. This breakdown is barely beginning and we have dirty hands.
There are no surprises here. Have you ever read "we do not have clean hands in Afghanistan"? "a clean break" ? Remember the divvying up of Africa in the Berlin conference ? everything that is happening right now in North Africa and the Middle East is our fault.
Those people are peeved at us too as we shored up and turned our heads on those destructive dictatorships as long as they did our bidding.
The chicken has come home to roost. 3 of my sons are career military and they know this is barely beginning.
I keep telling them to relax you are an it for the long haul. This is their future and I don't like it but they are reserved towards it.
Civil war keeps being mentioned in regard to Libya. I hate to say it but that seems to cover most countries in the Middle East and many in Africa including Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and every country ever involved with us. What a coincidence that Libya like North Korea were deemed worth working with when in 2008 Bush recovered full diplomatic relations with Gaddafi.

African Union Force Makes Strides Inside Somalia as US intensifies its proxy fight against al-Shabab
Rebels in Somalia briefly take over key central town: The rebel fighters from Al-Shabaab launched their attacks on the town of Dhusamareb in central Somalia province of Galgaduud, which is controlled by pro-government militia group of Ahlu SunnahWaljama (ASWJ).
You may remember that Somalia has a new militia faction that is about the only group in the country to go against the al-Shabab and win. The Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama - followers of Sufism or mystical Islam - are mostly volunteering students who say they have no political ambitions beyond expelling al-Shabab from the capital, one district at a time.
I hope you watched the video. The leader of this group of young religious fighters is a Minister for the transitional Government. I am really impressed that there is a group of fighters dedicated to defeating Al Shabab and they are. That is the main reason why Al Shabab has admitted defeat and largely left. The young leader is their religious leader and very religious always taking time out to pray. He vows to disband when Al Shabab is defeated.
The radical group of Al-Shabaab took over the town following fierce battles with local militia fighters who were forced out of the town, but the ASWJ fighters regrouped and launched a counter- attack on the militants in the strategic town of Dhusamareb on the key road linking a number of other towns in the region.
Encircling Somalia
US intensifies its proxy fight against al-Shabab in Somalia: The Obama administration is intensifying its campaign against an al-Qaeda affiliate in Somalia by boosting the number of proxy forces in the war-torn country, expanding drone operations and strengthening military partnerships throughout the region.
In many ways, the American role in the long-running conflict in Somalia is shaping up as the opposite of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan: relatively inexpensive, with limited or hidden U.S. footprints.
Analysis - Ethiopia dragged reluctantly back into Somalia
African Union Force Makes Strides Inside Somalia: Their surprising success has put the African Union in the driver’s seat of an intensifying international effort to wipe out Somalia’s Shabab militants, once and for all. Kenya, Ethiopia, the United States, France, Djibouti, Burundi and Uganda have all jumped in to some degree against the Shabab, a brutal and wily insurgent group that is considered both a regional menace and an international threat, with possible sleeper cells embedded in Somali communities in the United States and Europe.
The Shabab have been terrorizing Somalia for years, imposing a harsh and alien form of Islam, chopping off heads and unleashing suicide bombers, including Somali-Americans recruited from Minnesota. But the African Union has dealt the Shabab a crippling blow in Mogadishu, which is what may have encouraged Kenyan and Ethiopian forces to recently invade separate parts of Somalia in an unusual regional effort to spread the Shabab thin on several fronts and methodically eliminate them.

Mid-East and North Africa unrest Live, Profile: Muammar Gaddafi
Mid-East and North Africa unrest Live, Profile: Muammar Gaddafi Amid Reports of Bodies on Tripoli Streets as Officials Quit in Protest. I listened to Gaddafi the ruthless killer yesterday. He said we gave drugs to the protesters and he is going to fight the dogs "us" to the death. He is the mad dog on drugs!
Mid-East and North Africa unrest Live
Gaddafi vowed to fight until the last drop of his blood had been spilt rather step down, describing anti-regime protesters as “rats”. Shaking his fist in rage he said the youths were being manipulated by the west and we are giving them drugs. He encouraged his followers to go house to house and eradicate them.Defiant Gaddafi vows to fight on
Qaddafi Defies Rebels Amid Reports of Bodies on Tripoli Streets
Libyan forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi are waging a bloody operation to keep him in power with residents reporting gunfire in parts of the capital Tripoli and other cities, while other citizens, including the country's former ambassador to India, are saying that warplanes were used to "bomb" protesters.Fresh violence rages in Libya as Protesters say security forces using warplanes and live fire 'massacred' them, as UN warns of possible 'war crimes'. I refuse to believe they are bombing their own people with fighter planes. Gadaffi has always scared me. He is ruthless, the civil war has already begun!

Libyan Crackdown Continues, Officials Quit in Protest.I just heard that the interior minister went to the side of the people and said Gaddafi has two choices, be killed or commit suicide.
In Egypt, protesters urge Libyan envoy to rebel Many Libyan diplomats at the United Nations and in several countries have broken ranks with Gaddafi already, urging foreign countries to help stop what many called the slaughter and genocide of anti-government protesters.
Libya appeared to slip further from the grip of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, as opposition forces in the east armed themselves and moved to consolidate control of the region.
Libya: Ready for civil war? They better be because they are already in it! Gaddafi says he has not yet begun to use force. That is scary! If he does not call bombing and machine gunning your own people force I shudder to think of how far this mad man will go.
Medvedev sees `fires for decades' in Arab world True but another gross underestimate. When Bush attacked Iraq he already guaranteed a total middle east breakdown lasting the foreseen future. All this turmoil in Africa and the middle east is only adding to it!

violence and unrest in Iran, Yemen, Morocco, Oman, Kuwait, Algeria and Djibouti over the weekend as people took to the streets demanding political and economic change. This is true but right now the focus seems to be on Libya where we can not get accurate independent reporting as reporters are not allowed in country.
