EU and Russia arming opposite sides in Syria in preparation for middle east breakdown

*  Fears Grow Of An Foreign-Fueled Arms Race In Syria: Fears grew Tuesday of a foreign-fed arms race in Syria as European Union nations decided they could give weapons to the outgunned rebels and Russia disclosed it has a contract to sell the Syrian government sophisticated anti-aircraft missiles.

Russia, which has been a strong supporter of the Syrian government, criticized the EU decision and acknowledged its anti-aircraft missile sale. Israel answered Russia's pledge by warning that it would be prepared to attack any such missile shipments. EU nations continued to express divisions within their 27-member bloc over sending arms to the rebels while both sides fighting in Syria spoke out on the decision.

* Russia Says S-300 Missile Sale to Syria Will Stabilize Region: The S-300 is a long range surface-to-air missile, first deployed by the Soviet Union in late 1970s. Modified versions of the system can engage 12 targets simultaneously at ranges of 200 kilometers (124 miles). The U.S. has told Russia that sales of advanced missile systems to Syria would be “destabilizing” for Israel’s security, Secretary of State John Kerry said on May 9 in Rome. 

“It’s not true these are only defensive weapons,” Yuval Steinitz, Israeli minister of international relations, told reporters today in Jerusalem. “In our case, they are also offensive weapons. Why? Because with a range of up to 200-300 kilometers, you can attack airplanes over Ben-Gurion Airport, over the Tel Aviv region.” 

 *EU to let arms embargo on Syrian rebels lapse: The prospect of EU weapons for the rebels, while maintaining stiff economic sanctions against Assad’s regime, also sends a message to Russia. Moscow has unabashedly sent weapons to Assad’s regime — and EU arms deliveries could partially re-balance the civil war when it comes to firepower. 

 Several EU ministers said arming the opposition would create a more level playing field that could force Assad into a negotiated settlement. Britain and France — the EU’s biggest military powers — had been pushing the bloc to lift its embargo on the delivery of weapons into Syria to help the embattled opposition. But Austria, which has sent peacekeepers to the Golan Heights between Syria and Israel, was vocally opposed 

Lebanese soldiers gunned down at a military checkpoint: Three Lebanese soldiers have been killed by gunmen who opened fire at a checkpoint in the Wadi Hamid area near the town of Arsal. The assailants then escaped back across the border into Syria. It is not the first clash between Lebanese military and gunmen and comes as Syrian soldiers backed by Lebanon’s militant Hezbollah fighters continue their assault on the nearby border town of Qusair to drive out rebels.

 

 Syria contagion strikes deep into Lebanon: Rockets struck hours after a defiant Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah vowed that his guerrilla group, waging war alongside President Bashar al-Assad against Syrian rebels, was fighting for victory whatever the cost. 

Both events were milestones in the creeping contagion of a conflict which has already killed 80,000 people within Syria’s borders and fuelled sectarian tension from Beirut to Baghdad. It has sucked in regional rivals Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Iraq and Israel and polarised major powers - the US and Europe siding with the opposition and Russia and China with Assad. “It is hugely alarming. 

Hezbollah will not stop and will not be cowed. In many instances they have even taken the lead in trying to turn around the successes of the rebels. Islamists on both sids of which Al Nusra on one side and Hezbollah on the other, will and are holding a leading role in the fighting.

Those involved will get this total middle east breakdown to the next level.

As a whole the so called civilized Nations of the world are bound and determined to start another world war they all mistakenly think they will win. Russia China, Iran, they are all responsible for creating this civil war.

From the beginning of the chaos in Syria we have been saying that Iran more specifically the IRG (Iran Revolutionary Guard) was in Syria helping if not leading the way in trying to quell the uprising along with Hezbollah.

You know Bashar's only friend's Iran and Hezbollah are dictating that this slaughter is a necessity though Syria knows how to brutalize its people all to well. Iran will not allow a Democracy at her doorstep further isolating her.

'Iran building militias in Syria in case Assad falls': The Post quoted a senior Obama administration official as saying that Iran was backing as many as 50,000 militiamen. “The immediate intention seems to be to support the Syrian regime. But it’s important for Iran to have a force in Syria that is reliable and can be counted on,” the official stated.

Now that we know how involved Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are in the slaughtering that is going on around the country that is beginning to look like the beginning of their fight not nearing the end.You have to be very concerned about what is happening in Syria especially.

Russia, China, and Iran are not going to allow Syria to fall to Democracy. What we saw after the voter fraud in Iran was mild compared to what the IRG will do if this movement spreads to Iran. I really wish Bashar would step down but Iran is the elephant in the room any way you look at it. The total middle east breakdown we have written about numerous times is well under way. We can only hope we keep it from erupting into WW3.

By attacking and defeating Iraq we freed Iran up to pursue her version of new middle East order by interfering wherever she could while Bush was doing the same thing with his Middle East Democratization program. I think you can see how successful Bush and Cheney were with chaos creating Middle East Democracy program but you are barely seeing the results they created in Iran.

The goal absolutely is to be the country who decides which direction the new Middle East (dis)order will take. Bush started it by attacking Iraq to get into the middle east to destabilize it and start the new middle east order the idiot said God told him to do now it will be up to Iran and Saudi Arabia at least up front fight it out whether this goes the Iranian Shiite way or the Saudi Arabian Sunni way and do not forget Israel!
